Rue des Halles in München

We hosting dinner for 12 pax company event. There were another group hosting similar company event concurrently. We were told that this restaurant tuning through second generation and the new owner sustain the management styles, and hence they have regular supporter. Though this was my first time visiting this French restaurant in Munch. Service was fast considering the number of staff they have. Food quality meeting my expectation. What exceeded my expectations was the egg plant vegetarian version, the species that the chef used were matching of that of South Asia, pleasant surprise as my guest who ordered this dished came from South Asia. This is a compliment for sure. And next, the brûlée…the caramel has a reasonably strong hint of smoked process, and the brûlée infused with ginger taste as well. Somehow this unusual combinations immediately rise my childhood memory of the Hainanese loaf bakery shop in Malaysia during the 70s. Really enjoy this smoked brûlée. Will come again for sure.

The owner was very enthusiastic and spent 20 minutes explaining the menu. We chose shrimp as a starter, which was delicious, and the mini beef hot pot was also very good. For the main course, we chose pork neck and beef to share, and they were all very delicious. Everyone thought the pork dishes were even better!

Lovely French restaurant. The menu isn't huge, but there's something for everyone. The real highlight, however, is the large cuts of beef, pork, and fish presented on a platter, perfect for sharing. We had a wonderful evening there and are already planning our next visit.

A true favorite restaurant! Rue des Halles is simply special – charming ambiance, attentive service, and cuisine that delights with every detail. Everything is fresh, perfectly balanced, and prepared with love. You can feel that quality and atmosphere are paramount here. Excellent, long-established French restaurant in Munich's Haidhausen district. Great service, great menu. The veal tartare was wonderful, and the swordfish with pistachio on fennel, chicory, and blood orange was absolutely superb. A thoroughly enjoyable evening, and we'll definitely be back!

My wife and I have been going here for years and love it. The food is always great, and the service is top-notch. We've even spent New Year's Eve here twice, and our friends have enjoyed the food and drinks every time.

Excellent French cuisine! We were there with a reservation before a concert and would love to come back if we're in the area! We were able to relive our time in France with culinary delights and enjoy a wonderful meal! Unfortunately, we're deducting one star for the unprofessionalism of waiter no. 2. See below. Waiter no. 1 was exceptionally courteous, friendly, and was able to give us accurate advice regarding allergies. He was pleasant in keeping with the ambiance and was knowledgeable about the wine list. Many thanks for the courteous service! The tip goes to him. Waiter no. 2 resulted in a star deduction from my rating. When I wanted to pay, I asked for the bill and immediately stated that I wanted to pay by card. Waiter no. 2 brought the bill, I told him the amount I wanted to pay, including the tip, and repeated my request to pay by card. Waiter no. 2 took a long time to get the card reader and then withdrew it from me when I wanted to pay. He wanted to wait until my husband returned from the restroom because he thought I apparently needed his permission to pay. Not only did it look beyond ridiculous when I tried to hold my card to the reader and he simply took it away, it was also completely unprofessional, condescending, and uncomfortable that, as a woman, I was apparently only allowed to pay the bill for our meal in the presence of and/or with my husband's permission. I've never experienced anything like that before.

I've been to Rue des Halles several times and each time the food and service have been brilliant, with a great, authentic team.

Everything has been just right for years...the super delicious food, the attentive, friendly service. They always recommend the right wine to go with your meal. We've never been disappointed. Coming here for a business dinner during the hectic days of an exhibition in Munich. What can I say, the team made it to an island of relaxation during that evening. Good service, fantastic food, matching wine and a desert as the icing of the cake. Come by foot or Uber, parking is a nightmare (unless you find the garage of the Hofbräuhaus Keller, 10 min walk)

Three of us were there for my son's birthday. The weather was beautiful, and we were able to sit outside on the street. It was very quiet, with no neighbors or street noise. The food and the friendly, attentive service completely met and even exceeded our expectations. Both the quality and the portion sizes were impeccable. To finish off, the chef treated us to a wonderful French raspberry liqueur on the house. We would recommend this restaurant anytime!

Magnificent 👍 We were there this evening and were delighted. The service is fantastic. The waiter will verbally explain the daily menu and then show you the board...definitely order from the daily menu. We had oven-baked shrimp in a fantastic sauce as a starter and then sea bass with delicious side dishes...everything was delicious, and the chef himself serves. We'll be happy to come back.

Wir waren vor vielen Jahren mal da und haben es am Samstag mit Freunden ausprobieren wollen … und werden auf jeden Fall wieder und wieder hingehen. Tolles Essen, gute Weinempfehlung, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend im Service. Nettes, gemütliches Ambiente. Und vor allem KEIN Theater mit einer zeitbeschränkten Reservierung, keine Hetze also, nicht auf €€€€ aus, sondern auf die Küche + Service + Gast. Toll für zu zweit oder in der Gruppe und überlege, ob wir ein Firmenessen dort veranstalten.

Die beiden Herren vom Service sind sehr nett und haben uns einen angenehmen Tisch mit genügend Platz reserviert. Als Getränk hatten wir eine Flasche Taunusquelle mit einem für Münchner Verhältnisse moderaten Preis von EUR 6,50. Außerhalb der karte gab es für uns zwei wunderbare Scheiben Foie Gras für EUR 25, dazu ein Glas Jurancon für EUR 7. Die Bouillabaisse für EUR 33 war sehr lecker und schön präsentiert. Auch das Dessert von 3 verschiedenen Sorbets mit jeweils dazu passendem Schnaps war mit EUR 11 OK. Insgesamt ist die Karte eher klein, aber das Lokal ist angenehm und der Service sehr nett. Jederzeit wieder!

In the 1980s, RdH was my favorite restaurant in Munich. Today, on rare visits to Munich, I relive old memories and enjoy the food.

A very pleasant French restaurant in Haidhausen with very friendly, attentive service. The food is excellent. Oysters with wonderful Rosé Crémant, venison carpaccio, marinated salmon for starters, and for the main course, we enjoyed a perfectly prepared piece of beef flank. Dessert of the day was a tarte tartin flambéed with Calvados – a delight. We received excellent advice regarding wine pairings, and were given a suitable wine for each course. This wasn't our first time there, and we will always be happy to return to this good, pleasant restaurant, where we always feel completely at home! Keep up the good work! We'll be happy to recommend you!

Always good - I can only recommend it. Food very good and varied daily menu. French classics perfect - the bouillabaisse, for example, was even better this time than usual, which is actually impossible. The sorbets in between courses are a dream to die for and good wines at acceptable prices. The service was perfect - courteous and not intrusive. The service also knows what to serve and how to prepare it - just the way you want it. For me, “the Frenchman” in Munich. Always happy and again and again. Until next time - salute

Fantastic… We celebrated my father's birthday here yesterday and were thoroughly pampered. French cuisine in the middle of Munich. A pleasant atmosphere with a few but lovely little highlights that are supposed to remind you a bit of the south. A waiter who picks you up with French charm and enchants you into the haute cuisine of France and a culinary fireworks display that is prepared in the kitchen. All in all a very successful evening with a great approach and friendly, very attentive service. Here you can live like God in France. Merci bien pour this soirée parfaite!

We recently had a wonderful experience at Rue des Halles Restaurant. The ambience was warm and inviting, with a touch of elegance that made the evening special. I can really only recommend this restaurant! Starting with a very pleasant reception, through very attentive and friendly service staff, to very delicious, tasty food - the evening was a complete success. Much to my friend's delight (he is French), this is a place in Munich where he also finds "chartreuse", snails and oysters. 😀 We will definitely be back!

The food is amazing. We celebrated a family anniversary (2 adults, 1 kid), everything was magnificent. We ordered a lot of things plus wine, Aperitif and desserts and ended up with a 200 euro bill. It was well worth it!!

Sehr schönes kleines französisches Restaurant mit sehr leckeren Gerichten. Die Speisekarte wechselt ab und zu und bietet dadurch sehr viel Abwechslung. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne her, was auch an dem super Service liegt. Auch mit Unverträglichkeiten wird sehr gut umgegangen, glutenfrei ist hier überhaupt kein Problem.

Zwar war dieses Lokal heute durch die Bau 2023 komplett ausgebucht, aber nach 21:00 Uhr habe ich dann meinen Platz noch bekommen. Es hat sich wirklich sehr gelohnt, dieses Restaurant zu besuchen, Service perfekt und das Essen ausgezeichnet. Ein besonderes Highlight war dabei die Bouillabaisse, welche wirklich vorzüglich war. Der aufmerksame Service und der Chef machten den Abend zu einem besonderen Erlebnis, welches ich gern demnächst wiederholen möchte. Sehr empfehlenswert!

die Lammkoteletts und der Hirsch waren schön rosa. Alles war ziemlich salzig. Die Sorbets waren ok, aber auch nichts besonderes. Die Suppe war nichts leichtes. Insgesamt kann man sagen alles eher eine schwere Hausmannskost. Bei keinem Gericht war was raffiniertes dabei. Der Ober war lustig. Was auf jeden Fall toll war, dass zwischen den einzelnen Gängen viel Zeit war.

Nach langer Zeit haben wir es endlich geschafft, den Ur-Franzosen in München zu besuchen. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Es hat einfach alles gestimmt. Der Crement rosé zu Beginn, der Sancrerre weiß und rosé als offener Wein!!! Respekt, habe ich noch nie erlebt. Ganz frische Austern und eine reichhaltige aromatische kräftige richtig tolle Bouillabaisse. Herrlich gutes Essen. Danke für den Abend bei Ihnen! 🇫🇷

Von Anfang bis Ende ein Traumabend auf Einladung eines sehr geschätzten Geschäftspartners. Korsischer Pastis, eine fois gras, dann Skrei mit Blutwurst, schräge aber extrem gelungene Komposition und zum Schluss die beste Micuit au chocolat seit Jahren. Einfach formidable. Danke + 6 Sterne! Gute Speisenauswahl - a la Carte sowie auch Tageskarte. Sehr hohes Niveau; dafür aber nicht teuer. Lockere Eleganz im Gastraum, bei den Speisen bis zu den Kellnern. Sehr schöner Abend - wir kommen wieder.

Das Rue des Halles stellt ein tolles schlichtes Ambiente und kulinarisch ausgezeichnetes französisches Restaurant dar. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich aber vielseitig, die Tageskarte abwechslungsreich. Die Speisen sind frisch und a Point. Die Kellner sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles in allem sehr gelungen!

Habe bei Lillian mit meiner Mutter gespeist. Habe früher in namhaften Lokalen an der Cote Azur Cannes, st.Tropez usw. gespeist. Aber das Lammkarree von Lilian war mindestens genauso gut. 5 Sterne

Ein Ort für Geniesser: fantastisches Essen, gute Weinauswahl, netter Service, sehr entspannte Atmosphäre. Portionen sind recht übersichtlich, und günstig ist das alles auch nicht - aber sehr lecker.

Ambiente ist rustikal schlicht gehalten und im Vergleich zu vielen "modern" Restaurants muss man auch nicht im Halbdunkel essen. Service war gut, die Wartezeit zwischen den Gängen - v.a. die Vorspeise - doch etwas lang. Zum Glück gibt es hier kein 90 Minuten Zeitlimit für zwei Personen wie in anderen Restaurants. Sonst wäre es wirklich knapp. Zum Essen: Die Schnecken waren gut, hätten für meinen Geschmack ein klein bisschen mehr Knoblauch vertragen können. Das Kalbscarpaccio war wunderbar. Die Bouillabaisse hatte reichlich Fischeinlage und war gut abgeschmeckt, die Crostini waren aber doch etwas sehr fettig. Lammkarree war zart gebraten. Käseplatte hatte eine gute Auswahl an unterschiedlichen Käsesorten.

War zur Weihnachtsfeier da. Das 4-Gänge-Menü war super. Mir persönlich ist die Einrichtung zu schlicht, aber das ist Geschmackssache. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Der Franzose eben. Wer in München Frankreich sucht ist hier richtig.

Sehr gutes Essen und sehr guter Service!

Ein relativ nüchterner Gastraum empfängt einem hier. Die Karte ist klein und übersichtlich, was durchaus kein Nachteil ist. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und wird von einem aufmerksamen Service kredenzt. Ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistngsverhältnis. In der Weinkarte vermisste ich mehr Weine in der 30€- Region.

Vom Interieur über die Speisekarte bis hin zum Service ist alles auf lässige Eleganz ausgelegt. Das Essen ist auf hohem Niveau, allein eine eigene Handschrift bei den Gewürzen fehlt noch. Dafür habe ich selten so einen guten Tafelwein getrunken. Das Personal ist aufmerksam, freundlich und zu Späßen aufgelegt. Insgesamt ist das Haidhausen, wie man es sich im besten Sinne vorstellt.

Summa summarum: stressfreie französische Brasserie mit sehr ordentlicher traditioneller französischer Küche mit guten Rohstoffen, gekonnter Zubereitung, aber ohne kulinarische Sterne-Flüge, dafür aber immer eine entspannte, sichere kulinarische Bank

Trotz teilweise schlchter Bewertungen sind wir wieder hingegangen, wie schon mehrmals seit vielen Jahren und wurden wie auch früher in keiner Weise enttäuscht. Ich mag die einfache Karte ohne Schnickschnack und unglaublichen Geschmackserlebnissen. "La grande portion" Thunfischcarpaccio, geschmackvoll und äesthetisch hergerichtet und ein Lammcarre. Genau so zubereitet wie gewünscht, leicht Rosa im Senfmantel mit Gemüsen dazu. Zart das Fleisch, nix zu mäkeln, genau os wie es sein soll und man es sich wünscht. Dass es alkoholfreien Riesling gibt hab ich das erste mal in einem Restaurant erlebt und war als nichtalkoholiker natürlich begeistert, auch wenn mich die durchaus freundlichen, teils scherzenden Ober natürlich bedauert hatten ("ein guter Jahrgang"). Die Nachspeisen waren normale Creme Brullee und wunderbarer Schokoladenkuchen mit Creme. Selbst in Frankreich, wo ich oft bin, finde ich selten ein so gutes Restaurant. wo einfach alles stimmt, insbesondere die Qualitäten der Lebensmittel. Gerne wieder.

Tolle französiche Küche - kleine Karte = hohe Qualität. Sehr angenehme Bedienung, professionelle Beratung bei der Weinauswahl. Authentischer Chef, der auch mal ganz ungezwungen am Tisch vorbeischaut. Wir waren begeistert.

Service: sehr gut Essen: sehr gut - - Austern Fines de Claire No. 2 waren (überraschenderweise) nicht zu groß, sondern sehr schön fleischig, sehr frisch, einfach superb, besser geht es weder in Paris noch am Atlantik. Dito. der Champagner. - Kalbsrücken: sehr fein, Kalb halt - Lammkoteletts: sehr aromatisch mit der Kräuterkruste und dem Jus. Leider „nur“ vier Stück. Franz. Rübchen in Scheiben: sehr gut. So möchte man sie haben. - Skrej (Cabillaud) gedünstet auf Linsen: das brachte das feine Aroma wie die Konsistenz des Fisch zum Glänzen. - Wein, Calvados etc. - Einrichtung gelungen, gemütlich, eine schöne Mischung von Bistrot und Restaurant.

Wir gehen gerne ins Rue des Halles. Die Qualität des Essens, wie der Zutaten sind ausgezeichnet. Wir waren unlängst mit Freunden dort: Ich hatte ein Rinderfilet: Sehr zartes Fleisch perfekt Medium zubereitet, dazu Gemüsebeilagen. Meine Frau hatte die Kaninchenkeule und war ebenfalls sehr zufrieden. Alle Speisen kamen gleichzeitig. Als Dessert hatten wir den warmen Schoko Kuchen - den sollten Sie nicht verpassen. Der Service ist aufmerksam und ausgezeichnet ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

Bonsoir Mesdames et Monsieurs, Wenn dieses Restaurant in Paris angesiedelt wäre, wären die Stühle wesentlich unbequemer und es wären doppelt so viele Tische in dem sehr schönen Restaurant...;-) Aber ansonsten würde man den Unterschied nicht bemerken... Meiden Sie das Restaurant. Es soll bitte nur den Insidern vorbehalten bleiben... Das Essen schmeckt abscheulich französisch und die Getränke sind nur durch Disziplin zu genießen. Aus Fairnessgründen sage ich jetzt nichts vom Nachtisch... Sehr positiv: die sehr netten Personen vom Service tun ihr Allerbestes! Honi soit, qui mal y pense...

Great traditional French food and helpful and attentive servers made those great. Attending along as a traveler and they made me feel welcome and loved the choices (and translation) of the blackboard. Delicious quail starter and classic lamb dish main with great flavor and cooked perfectly. Good wines by the glass recommended by my server since I was alone. Great neighborhood and I will be back.
