Cleanest hotel in Germany we stayed in and no air conditioning issues when temperature was above 85 degrees. The location is conveniently located next to central station that connects to other European cities. Our room is nice and modern. The window has a view to the atrium. Bathroom is a bit awkward with a divider that can open to the room but not an issue for us. The hotel having a Spa was a nice touch overall. Steam and suana rooms are co-ed including the showering area, but I think that is how most hotel spas operate in Germany or Europe. The suana room is small but appear to be clean for the most part. There was a half naked male lurking around multiple times during my use but whatever. Unfortunately, the steamed room has an odor like urine so I left after less than 5 seconds. Gross. I booked a massage and the music was supplied through my masseuse's phone lol. It was all fine until the youtube commercial ads popup a couple of times during the relaxation moments. The massage was good, not the best not the worst. Just was a bit weird with the music from a mobile phone and the ads. Breakfast is Ok. I would dodge unless opting for the sake of pure convenience. Handfull of juice options and an espresso machine for making various coffee drinks. A bit pricey for the quality and amount of selections offered. Bakery items get arranged by staffs with their bare hands, another German/European thing I guess.

Service is bad and slow esp room. Luggage delivery and pick up is very slow. Wanna charge even for a set of cutleries to room 5 euros. Construction was noisy next door. Phone calls were slow to answer and few occasions they don't even pick up.

The hotel is located in a central location near the central train station. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the bad is amazing. Breakfast and dinner are great - a lot of options and everything is fresh and tasty. But the best thing about the hotel is it’s manager on duty: Umut Ofkeli. He’s kind and helpful and will do absolutely everything to makes you feel at home

Elegant hotel located walking distance to the train station. The rooms were modern and very clean. The staff was extremely professional and accommodating. The spa was under construction during our visit but we were still able to schedule massages. Ask for Katarina or Mae. They are amazing. The hotel has two restaurants and a bar. All three were excellent. The hotel is also walking distance to many great locations.

It was a wonderful and relaxing stay. What is particularly worth emphasizing is this Staff who shine with their high level of attentiveness and friendliness. I enjoyed an excellent reception from Mr. Daniel Briesacher, who sweetened my birthday the next day with a gift. The checkout with Mr. Alex Sleath was extremely pleasant and characterized by attentiveness and friendliness. Very good location despite the works and the somewhat worrying neighborhood Upon my arrival I was placed in a very comfortable room on the top floor, no noise, very comfortable bed, hot water from the shower almost immediately. The hotel bar is very well stocked and the bartender is very friendly. The staff were wonderful and the service was exceptional, in the lead up to and throughout our stay. Travelling as a family of three adults, we were thrilled to be upgraded to a bigger room which was spacious and luxurious. After a very long flight, arriving late at night, we were made to feel very welcome and appreciated all comforts and amenities of the room for the best night’s sleep. The rain shower is amazing! ..and the Diptique products are a treat! The buffet breakfast had a large hot and cold selection. The bar menu was perfect for a quick meal and pre-theatre drink. The location is excellent, with Marienplatz and sights within walking distance or a short train ride away. Being right next to the main train station is very convenient for local trains, as well as connections to other cities. We could not have had a better start to our a European holiday! If you want to go all out for a luxury experience, this is the place to stay in Munich!

Our family stayed at Sofitel while on vacation in Munich. Perfect location downtown right next to the main train station. Breakfast is the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had—phenomenal service, quality, and variety. Jeff is a fantastic manager of the breakfast service and is very friendly. The bar is very nice and quite classy. The room itself had all that you could ask for. Overall, incredible experience start to finish. Highly recommend.

Here is what I already submitted when prompted as I joined the WIFI, while being a guest in the hotel, which I never received a response to.... "The shampoo is empty in the shower. The shower gel nozzle doesn’t pump in the shower. Was “upgraded” to a room with a bathtub but have to pay for basic bath salts to use it (you could really over deliver here for very little investment). There was a confusion at check in about my Amex Platinum benefits. I book all my travel this way and this was the first time my benefits weren’t honored because I booked one night and not two. The front desk agent did her best to find out why and literally has her supervisor give her very rude instructions right in front of us without acknowledging us. Highly recommend increasing the training of your front desk staff especially if you want to keep the persona of luxury. We did get two drink vouchers (breakfast was denied even though it’s a buffet and costs probably the same as 2x $29 drinks. So in that regard I do want to acknowledge that our agent tried to rectify the issue but was also very aware of her restrictions. It’s not advertised that your parking garage is closed but your valet team took ownership and solved the problem for us. Even charging our Tesla! Very happy about that. Your bartenders were great. We even returned with a large party and closed it down. As a seasoned traveler and being in the hotel industry myself since 2006, I see so many opportunities that would really increase your guest satisfaction scores. I’ve been eyeing this hotel for years now so I’m happy I tried it and I’m disappointed by what I received. I’m off to the Rosewood today and look forward to trying another product. Ps. Slept with the window open as the AC didn’t work and sweated majority of the night. The pillows and mattress are awful. Unfortunately because of them, I have a pinch nerve to take care of now. I would not be keen to return which is so disappointing as you have such a great product. Just seems attention to detail is missing and your customer is noticing. "

However, I encountered issues more likely to happen in a 3 stars hotel. One night, the water was completely shutoff for hours. Also, I had to wait 5-10 minutes for both check-in and out.

The only hotel where I didn't have to tip. When we arrived in the evening there was no one to help us with our luggage or park our car. The bellhop was probably busy at the moment and yet I know that so the receptionist offered it to us. When I asked where I could park my car, the lady just said I should check on my colleagues outside because that wasn't her job. At first I was amazed because I didn't expect something like that from a 5 star hotel. After waiting for 25 minutes, my colleague came and said the parking spaces were full and I should park my car myself in your other hotel parking garage. I understand that parking spaces can be full but I don't understand why I had to wait 25 minutes and the communication is just second rate in a hotel like this. Apart from the nice lady from the spa area and the nice gentleman at the breakfast reception, I unfortunately didn't meet anyone who wanted to make eye contact and say hello to someone when they entered. Maybe I'm being a little too picky, but I've never had an experience like that. Unfortunately, I missed these things from a 5 star hotel and can therefore only give 3 stars instead of 5 stars. Nevertheless, it was very quiet and the rooms were beautiful there.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, the location near the train station is good. The rooms are very quiet, room standard corresponds to a city hotel. Breakfast buffet is very extensive, nothing is missing. The friendly car master parked our vehicle externally, the cost of Euro 43 per night is quite high. The only point of criticism is the service at the bar, despite the dry weather outside right next to the bar they didn't want to serve us even though there wasn't much going on inside, we were shouted at very harshly. We got our first beer at the bar and the second at the train station kiosk 1 minute from the hotel. The bar manager then apologized and clarified the situation. Unfortunately, despite the 22 degrees and sunshine, the lounge next to the bar was also covered and could not be used.

Had a wonderful 4 night stay at this property, wasn’t hard to choose this hotel given its central location, transport connectivity to other euro cities especially right next to the Munich Hauptbanhof. The duplex suite was well appointed, good size and modern decor. Breakfast was always something to look forward to with its expansive spread, including organic brewed teas. Won’t be staying anywhere else the next time we are back in Munich.

Unfortunately, there are employees working at reception who take commission from taxi drivers for trips to the airport. I was driven from the airport to Sofitel for a fixed price of €101.00. On departure, an in-house taxi was ordered for €120.00. When I got in I saw the taxi driver giving money to the employee. It's a shame for such a hotel.

Stayed here four nights with family of four adults. Wonderful connecting rooms facing Bayerstraße. We utilized the Délice La Brasserie restaurant, Schwarz & Weiz breakfast restaurant (delicious), Isarbar lounge and the Spa during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The beds are very comfortable, and rooms well equipped with robes, slippers, iron & board, fragrant soaps and lotions, a sweet sounding Bang & Olufsen Beolit Bluetooth speaker, soundproof rooms (we were on 5th floor), ample cupboard space, a comfy rocking chair and ottoman, and so much more. Try the cocktail monthly creations...they're delicious. I would absolutely stay here again.

Ridiculous check-in policy for a “5-star” hotel experience. If you're early, and I mean by any about of time, be prepared to pay 60 euro to check in early, even if the room is sitting empty and is ready. Absolute money grab that is essentially 1/4 of your nightly rate. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling who cannot time their check-in against this property’s precious policy.

I am not sure how this hotel qualifies as 5 stars anymore. Maybe at one point it did but the quality is that of a 3 star hotel in terms of facilities and service. The room we stayed in had mold on the walls, a leaky sink, old handprints (probably lube) on the headboard, dusty surfaces, rough sheets, no bathtub, poor service, and very dated interiors. I tagged along on my husband’s work trip. It was my first trip since having our baby who is almost 4 months old. He wanted to book a nice hotel so we would be comfortable and he looked for a 5 star hotel. We wanted a king bed, room service, and a pool to swim with the baby. In the booking I saw that he also ordered flowers for the room. It was very sweet and I was so excited to get out of the house and travel. After he booked the hotel I noticed that the website said the pool and spa were closed, but that guests could use a nearby hotels facilities. We discussed moving hotels, but decided to continue with the booking. Unfortunately this hotel did not live up to expectations set by Google reviews or their own website. The interior is very dated and in need of repair. The service is hit or miss. Some people were nice, but most are doing the bare minimum. I don’t blame them. I was never greeted when I walked in or out of the hotel. No big deal. More importantly, the front door was barely manned, which is alarming because it’s right by the train station and they have guest bags *all over the lobby*. We never received the flowers. I mentioned it twice to two different people, no one seemed interested in correcting the mistake or looking into it. The first room we were given was small and did not have a king bed, despite all the rooms on their website claiming to have 25 square meters and king beds. I politely asked to be moved and a nice man at the front desk gave me “a really great room”. It did indeed have a king bed but the next morning I found that the sink was leaking water, which came down the half wall of the bathroom and made a puddle in the sleeping area of the room. This was after normal usage of washing my face and brushing my teeth. I inspected the area and saw that there was mold on the wall and rot in the wood. There are no full walls in the room. The bathrooms are sectioned off with glass sliding doors so there is virtually no privacy for using the toilet. You can hear everything. And the entire bathroom gets flooded if two people shower. I went down to the front desk to tell them about the leak. The man was dismissive about my concerns and said he’d get someone to fix it. I said fixing mold was not an hour long job and I would like a new room. He said he would have maintenance inspect it and to come back later. I returned twice. One of the times they asked ME if the maintenance man had been there. It’s not my job to track these things; I’m on vacation. The leak was never resolved, the mold was never taken care of, we were never offered another room or even asked about the leak. Honestly I just gave up because I figured it wouldn’t make a difference. The same day I noticed many handprints in lube on the silver vinyl headboard. Very gross. One of the stools was covered in dust and the coffee machine had some kind of crusty white stuff on it and lots of dust in crevices. I waited to see if housekeeping would get the handprints or the dust. It didn’t happen, so I cleaned the handprints off myself using baby wipes. It was easy to do, but alarmed me that the rest of the room was not being cleaned well. The bed was basically a box spring with a duvet on it. The box spring had no sheet or mattress protection. Very gross. It was very uncomfortable and the sheets were so rough they left tiny dreads in my baby’s hair. The “complimentary” water was already opened. Maybe they are refilling the bottles and hoping no one notices. On the last day, housekeeping walked in without announcing themselves at 9.00. Don’t stay here. The positive reviews must be fake because even if the suites were very nice, the rest of the hotel still falls far below 5 stars.

We had a wonderful stay at the Munich Sofitel Bayerpost and enjoyed our spacious duplex room on the 8th floor. In-room breakfast was an excellent way to start our day with the lovely service from the staff and we should also note the doormen and concierge and valet parking who took extra care of us and made us feel especially welcome.

We stayed for 1 night and it was on our honeymoon. The room was very nicely decorated including a bottle of sparkling wine. The surprise was a success and we had a great time. The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and the hotel is in a great location, right next to the train station. But still very quiet, great! Unfortunately, the wellness area was under renovation, so we used the bathtub in the room. That was great too. Unfortunately there was a queue at check-out, so we used the fast check-out.

As an Ambassador member with Marriott and an American Express Platinum member, my recent stay at Sofitel served as a stark reminder of why I typically avoid Accor group hotels. My experience at this 5-star establishment on April 5 was anything but 5-star. Upon arrival, I was dismayed to find the rooms falling well below the standard I expect from a luxury hotel. Despite efforts from Zander at the front desk to remedy the situation with a room change, the alternative offered little improvement, with a disappointing view of a concrete wall. When I politely requested to cancel my reservation, Zander initially assured me that it could be done without fees, contingent on an email from American Express. Regrettably, the hotel later reneged on this agreement, insisting on cancellation charges. This inconsistent and unaccommodating behavior left me disillusioned and dissatisfied. I urge fellow travelers to exercise caution when considering Sofitel Munich and instead explore alternatives such as The Charles Hotel Rocco Forte, where superior service and reliability are guaranteed. UPDATE: Disputed charges with American Express. Manager replied to this review requesting an email yet did not provide his email address.

From the moment we checked in to the moment we said goodbye at the end of our stay, our experience at the Sofitel Munich was nothing short of first class. The service staff were not only fantastic, but also extremely attentive and keen to ensure that every guest felt completely comfortable. Our room was not only beautifully designed but also extremely comfortable, making us feel at home. In the evening we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at the bar, where the staff were not only nice but also attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast offered a wide selection of delicious dishes, including vegan alternatives, which surprised us very positively. It was nice to see that the hotel takes the needs of all guests seriously. We would like to express a special thank you and praise to Ms. Jana Berger, who impressed us with her excellent care during our stay. The surprise in our room was the icing on the cake of our stay and made us very happy. Overall, we can highly recommend the Sofitel Munich and are already looking forward to our next visit to this first-class hotel.

Great location for rail travel. Luxurious toilet room, helpful staff. My wife and visited on our honeymoon and enjoyed our stay. The bathroom is luxurious and the staff was very helpful even when we had travel delays. Front desk had great options for dinner suggestions

The hotel has a superb construction/finishing and a great architecture. Restaurant is average but expensive, making it not a good value, but not a big deal as there are many restaurants nearby. Next to the central train station, so very convenient. Excellent staff and special kudos do Alex, the clerk.

Best service ever and lovely staff, In addition I was so impressed by the prayer room they had , it was so respectful for the islam religion and it was so nice and clean, I came from Saudi Arabia and I expected racism and crime as they all used to aware us but I never felt that here in the Hotel they showed me the opposite so respectful staff thank you Mahmoud front office manager , and this prayer room proofed all wrong🤍🤍 I will recommend it to all ppl specially mine.

Great location, within walking distance from the train station. Fantastic location to walk downtown for sightseeing, restaurants, and breweries. Staff was excellent and can speak multiple languages, which was helpful as my German is not very strong. Will return and stay again!

My wife and I stayed at Sofitel Munich Bayerpost. We loved the hotel's striking architecture, great facilities, and superb location. However, we experienced hostility and aggression from a staff member, which did not match our expectations for Sofitel, having stayed in multiple Sofitel properties around the world. We would not recommend staying at Sofitel Munich Bayerpost until this staff member is removed. All of the other staff were brilliant, except this one.

Memorabilia of the house's past are great. The access is a bit narrow and difficult to find. But I didn't care, I arrived by train. Central station right next door.

Despite the numerous construction sites outside and the proximity to the main train station, you didn't hear any noise in the room. Wonderful! For me, my new standard hotel in Munich. Thanks!

I was there one night 07/08/03, reception was very nice, catastrophe was in the morning. I got to the reception at 6:45 and said I had to leave at 7:30 because I had an important appointment. At 7.30 the car was still not there. I asked the reception and they said they had no idea about it and they were now sending the bell boy to the car. At 7:40 I asked again, the answer was that the order would be sent soon. At 7.45 I asked the bell boy myself if he was planning on getting my car and the answer was, he had no idea, nobody told him anything. Immediately afterwards I went to the reception and said a little louder that I wanted my car immediately, the receptionist completely ignored me and looked at the computer. After I said it, he said, "I know it's bad, but it's not my fault. You have to wait." We don't have enough staff right now. ,,. I would understand if I had ordered the car 10 minutes before departure but not almost an hour before. The car can leave at some point around 8.20 when I was already 20 minutes late anyway. In addition, I'm a club member and of course I didn't get a room upgrade, so all in all it was quite a disaster. This is not the standard of a 5 star hotel.

The location is good. Room is clean. Staff is terrible for a 5 stars hotel. We stayed in Sofitel in other countries and the staff was absolutely amazing. We are very disappointed about the staff here in Munich, very rule. The hair dryer doesn’t work in my room, i asked for a new one. Didn’t come up. Then they tried to tell me how to use the hair dryer. They told me because i didn’t press the cool button. I am pretty sure i already tried many ways to use it but didn’t succeed. The most problem is their attitude like trying to tell people that people are wrong and they are right. I am still in shock and can’t believe this type of service in a 5 stars hotel. I have been travelling over the past 10 years, staying in many places but never had this terrible rule staff. I have never had to post a complain review, this is the first time. Furthermore, we checked in for 2 people, they asked us to pay for one extra breakfast at the check out, we are aware of it and it is fine. But their attitude was like why you have one people and 2 breakfasts. We checked in with 2 passports and the staff at check in have already discussed and told us about it. It’s such a small thing but the attitude of the staff at check out is horrible. For worst, when they said sorry about the hair dryer, they don’t even look at my eyes and means it. They just said it for a sake of it. It’s unbelievable service in a 5 stars hotel and part of Accor business. I am now sitting on the train and read some other reviews. Apparently, the staff service has been a problem for a while and the general manger answer was that they will improve. Obviously it’s not changed till today. I’m very disappointed and would never stay here again. It’s not worth it to have to deal with unnecessary unpleasant things.

Providing Masjid room with some treats during Ramadan is greatly appreciated, it's a very kind gesture. We would like to thank Umut Mahmoud for organizing this and for his exceptional hospitality and his efforts to make us feel home during our stay , as well as the entire Sofitel team, especially the general manager of the hotel. I just want to ascertain that the hotel is clean, homey, cozy, and with an excellent atmosphere and location, the administration and the staff was friendly and eagerly assisting us. We would definitely stay there again! It was a great value.

Price performance ratio very bad. It feels like the hotel hasn't been renovated in 30 years. There are still ISDN and analog telephone connections at the desk. The WiFi only offers 4 Mbit, not up to date and unusable for working... The rooms are still very small; The bathrooms also look like they are from the last century: The fridge was dirty when I arrived (see photos) The staff tries hard but can also be rude when asked. In general, the hotel is not recommended due to its high price. Soundproofing also needs a lot of improvement, you can constantly hear doors slamming and noises from the hotel rooms next door and above.

Wir waren immer zufrieden bis auf unseren letzten Aufenthalt. Keine Info dass Spa geschlossen ist (wegen Sanierung bis August) und auch keine Info dass die Tiefgarage nicht zu nutzen ist. Somit keine Möglichkeit das Auto zu laden. Bedeutet, dass wir heute wesentlich früher los müssen.

1. Unfortunately, I missed the moment when foie gras began to cost like black caviar. At the same time, the portion was reduced by half. 2. It was difficult to book a table, although we were sitting in a half-empty place. 3. I can’t say that it was amazingly tasty, the prices are above average. The check for dinner for two with a bottle of wine was €200+. 4. The atmosphere is not French, the service is without interest in the client. 5. Well, the “cherry on the cake” was food poisoning.

Im le Refuge war ich nicht zum ersten Mal, allerdings ist der letzte Besuch sehr lange her und war vermutlich dem Bouillabaisse-Tag geschuldet. Ich glaube, dieser Abend wird auch meine letzte Einkehr dort gewesen sein. Das Essen selbst war sogar recht erfreulich, aber Atmosphäre und Service stimmten überhaupt nicht. Wir haben uns schlichtweg nicht wohlgefühlt. Drei Männer waren in unserem Bereich im service, die alle auf eine gewiss ruppige Weise seltsam und ungastlich daherkamen und einen darüberhinaus noch für blöd verkaufen wollten. Als ich eingangs fragte, was für einen Champagner sie ausschenken, bekam ich zur Antwort, der sei Demeter-zertifiziert (was auch als einiziger Hinweis in der Karte stand). Ich entgegnete, mich würde eher interessieren, wie das Weingut heißt oder aus welcher Region der Champagne er stammt - da fängt der Mann an, mir zu erklären, was Demeter ist und als ich ihm bedeute, dass ich darüber durchaus im Bilde bin, kommt nur noch: ich solle ihn trinken, er sei wirklich gut. Aha. Schließlich holte er dann doch eine Flasche zur Ansicht, eine demi, auf deren dekorativem Etikett ebenfalls keine Angaben standen...da war mir schon klar, dass ich den Champagner nicht trinken würde, fragte aber dennoch nach, ob sie aus der demi ausschenken? Sie hätten verschiedene Größen, bekam ich zur Antwort. Ich habe mir dann gespart, eine spezifizierende Frage zu "Austern aus der Normandie" von der Tageskarte zu stellen. Kann doch dem Gast egal sein, was er da zu sich nimmt. Das Essen selbst war dann aber gut&schmackhaft; Nachtisch wurde uns mit dieser merkwürdig dominanten ungeduldigen Attitüde ein wenig aufgedrängelt (subjektiv empfunden) und als ich mich über das Vanille-Eis statt der üblichen Crème fraiche zur tarte tatin wunderte, kam auch wieder nur so ein "von oben herab"-Spruch, der bedeutete: friss, zahl', go home. Nee, so macht es keinen Spaß.
