I travel a lot myself and I'm surprised this hotel has 5 stars. The service, rooms, design and furnishings reminded me more of a 3-star hotel. Everything seems very old and cheap.

I don't even know where to begin... The hotel is beautiful, modern, and in a fantastic location, about a 30-minute walk from the Viktualienmarkt. There's a spa area with a lovely pool and sauna, etc. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely room with a super comfortable and large bed. The breakfast buffet is amazing ❤️... it has everything you could possibly want! We'll definitely be staying there again soon ☺️.

We stayed at the Sofitel Munich expecting the level of comfort, service, and attention to detail that a five-star hotel promises. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable, especially for a family traveling with a young child. We were traveling with a 4-year-old child and were assigned a room that was far too small for three people. Once the extra bed was installed, it was placed directly next to the main bed, leaving virtually no space to move around the room. It was impossible to walk safely, open luggage comfortably, or function normally in the room. We contacted the hotel staff to explain that the room was not suitable for a family and requested a larger room. The only response we received was that, if we wanted more space, we would need to pay for an upgrade. No alternatives were offered, no effort was made to assist us, and no responsibility was taken by the hotel. This attitude clearly demonstrated a lack of interest in providing quality service or properly accommodating guests, which is unacceptable in a five-star hotel. Even more concerning was the way the extra bed was positioned in relation to a structural column in the room. The column was located directly above part of the extra bed, leaving an uneven and unsafe space where a child could easily fall or hit themselves while sleeping or getting in and out of bed. This setup clearly shows that this type of room is not suitable for the placement of an extra bed and should never be assigned to a family with a young child. Given the dismissive and unhelpful attitude shown by the staff, we did not raise this additional concern at the time, as it was already evident that guest comfort and, more importantly, child safety were not a priority. This hotel is absolutely not kid-friendly. The lack of space, the unsafe room configuration, and the staff’s approach—suggesting that guests simply pay more instead of ensuring a safe and adequate room—demonstrate a complete disregard for families. This level of service is unacceptable in any hotel, but it is especially shocking in a property that markets itself as a luxury five-star hotel. We felt ignored, uncomfortable, and deeply disappointed throughout our stay. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Sofitel Munich to families or to anyone expecting the standards of comfort, safety, and service that should come with a five-star hotel. This was a truly poor experience and does not reflect the quality, professionalism, or values one would expect from the Sofitel brand.

Classy-looking, fancy common areas and bar/restaurant are appreciated and very nice. My room was in need of a refresh, it was a bit worn-out, but the bed was extremely comfortable which was the main priority. Would stay there again on company dime :)

Hotel is very nice and service experiences were great outside of a slight check-in issue. We arrived at 2:20pm or so and our room was not ready and told it is guaranteed by 3pm. We mentioned we may be waiting in the bar and after about an hour I walked over to reception and they said our room was ready. We were surprised we did not receive a call or text that the room was ready since we were waiting. Once in the room, we were surprised by how low the water pressure was. Using the rain head shower was essentially unusable due to how low the pressure was. Lastly, we did not call the front desk but it was very hot in the room and adjusting the thermostat seemed to make no change. It was set to 22 degrees and we turned it down to 16 degrees and the temperature did not seem to adjust. There was a standing fan in the room and it seemed like it may have been a known issue the room stays very warm. Normally staying in a 5 star hotel you should be able to sleep comfortably and we were not which was not great prior to a 20 hour travel day starting at 5am the next morning.

Very convenient location, just next to Munich Central Station. We booked a Junior Suite and the room was impressively spacious. Breakfast was excellent, and despite a brief electricity issue that morning, it became a memorable candle-light breakfast 😂. Staff handled it professionally.

I stayed at the Sofitel and initially had a very positive experience — it could easily have been a five-star stay — until I was harassed by another guest. The incident began in the spa, where this individual followed me and behaved inappropriately. Later that day, he followed me to my room and waited outside my door on multiple occasions throughout the evening. When I reported this, the reception team initially handled the situation well. They offered to change my room, and a member of security — who was exceptionally kind, understanding and professional — escorted me to a new room on a different floor. However, I have since contacted the hotel several times to understand what follow-up actions were taken. I specifically asked: • whether the guest had been spoken to, • whether his parents had been informed (as he was underage), • and whether he had been banned from using the spa. I have now been informed by a colleague who is still staying at the hotel that the same individual is once again in the spa, unattended. I find this deeply concerning and irresponsible. The reception manager’s response has been dismissive and has downplayed the seriousness of the situation. I am raising this formally to ensure the hotel takes responsibility, puts appropriate measures in place, and creates a safe environment for all guests — particularly women — by addressing misconduct and preventing this from happening again.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a long trip across Europe, and really enjoyed it. The hotel is located directly next to the main train station in Munich, so getting there is extremely easy if arriving by train. The entire train station is currently under construction (which is in no way the hotel's fault) so until that is done, you might need to dodge some construction work, but it's really very easy. The front desk staff was very helpful, and got us in to our room early, which gave us some extra time to explore the city. Our room was extremely nice and very modern, featuring a giant bathtub and a Bluetooth stereo you could pair to your own devices for music. We took advantage of the hotel breakfast both morning we were there, and it was excellent. Fresh coffee, a made-to-order egg + omelette bar, fresh fruit and pastries- it was one of the better breakfasts we had during our entire trip. Also, try out the spa- they offer a full suite of services, and it has one of the coolest pools I've ever seen.

The room was kinda small which i didnt like but the breakfast was actually really good and i liked it but i just didnt really like the location as well because idk if its just me but around the area there were drunk people and stuff so i didnt really like that but i like how it was next to the train station.

You can not beat this location. You literally walk out the front door and you are at the main Munich train station. You are easily able to safely walk to all of the Christmas markets and tourist destinations. Throw in that they have exceptional service and beautiful, modern rooms and you are in for a treat. Highly recommend this property and we will be staying again!

Great hotel. Great bar. Bit i am surprised how they can repeat same breakfast back to back everyday. We stayed here for 3 days and we didnt find anything new. Same copy paste!. And we are vegetarian, they dont have anything hot for vegetarian, when whole world is preferring vegetarian food. Plus why theybhave one bottle for rooms? Even for suites, they dont refill, dont have marketplace or a common area where you can refill your bottle. Accor or hotel GM should visit india and see how hospitality and how breakfast spread is done! Pretty disappointed

Excellent stay in Munich Sofitel, staff at reception were friendly and efficient and breakfast had a good variety. Best part is the fact that it's located literally beside the Munich Central train station. Room was very good and had everything we needed. Somewhat a luxury stay, although there's no turn down service at night. TV channels - had English news and NHK which was great as that meant we weren't stuck with just German programmes. Didn't use the pool or spa because it was filled with families and screaming kids which put us off, but it wasn't our main objective to use the spa facilities at Sofitel anyway. Only negative was because the body lotion in the bathroom wasn't replenished and was empty. For a 5 star hotel you wouldn't expect this kind of slip up.

Overall it was a pleasant stay. The staff was polite, and the location was convenient for someone who wanted to visit other areas by train (it is right next to the station). For someone who wants to move mainly to the center it is about 20 minutes walking distance or 10 minutes by public transport. The only thing we did not like is that the daily cleaning of the room was done properly only on the first day. From the second day onwards there was no replenishment of tea, coffee and clean cups and other consumables that had been replaced on the first day.

The lounge and bar were pleasant, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The spa itself is nice, although extremely busy before 7:00 pm. Unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing. We were initially given a room with a strong sewage smell, which we only noticed after dinner. At 11:00 pm we were moved to a lower-category room. Only the following morning—after further complaints—were we given a better room within the originally booked category. When guests are forced to change rooms late at night due to a serious issue like this, an upgrade should be offered immediately rather than a downgrade. To make matters worse, the replacement room had no towels and was not serviced during the day. The hotel is close to the city centre, which is a positive. However, the surrounding neighborhood is very run-down, dirty, and full of intoxicated people, which felt uncomfortable—especially when returning to the hotel in the evening. Sofitel usually maintains high standards, but unfortunately this property did not meet those expectations. Medium stay, high costs.

Check-in was extremely efficient and professional; all information was provided proactively. Unfortunately, our reservation at the IsarBar was forgotten, but the team handled the situation superbly. We waited at the bar and were then immediately seated at the first available table. Our two glasses of champagne at the bar were complimentary. Thus, what should have been an annoying oversight was transformed into a positive experience. The room was very nice, clean, and pleasantly warm. We enjoyed two visits to the lovely spa. The breakfast was extensive and delicious, and the many service staff members were friendly and very helpful. Throughout the entire hotel, every interaction with the staff was characterized by professionalism and friendliness. Our electric car was fully charged in the garage. Even our final interaction with the porter upon departure was exceptionally warm; we were given water and sweets to take with us. This stay at the Sofitel Bayerpost will remain a cherished memory for a long time.

We stayed here last Christmas and again this year around the same time. Our previous experience was amazing, which is why we returned. The breakfast staff and the cleaning team are excellent and truly deserve praise. However, we were disappointed with the reception this time. The official check-in time is 3:00 pm, and we arrived around 3:25 pm. We understand that delays can happen, but we were not properly informed. We were asked to wait 15–20 minutes with drink vouchers, but after waiting over 30 minutes, no one updated us. We had to go back to reception multiple times, and only then were we told the room had actually been ready shortly after 3:00 pm. There was also some confusion at checkout regarding the Booking.com payment. Overall, the reception staff needs better communication, as the rest of the team is wonderful.

We chose this hotel because of its close location to the train station, but this by far my worst "5 star" hotel stay. First of all, the "luxury room" is rather mediocre, the breakfast does not have much choice. The lady at spa was very rude and kept on saying "I've worked for a full day bla bla" and was very impatient to us. Then the worst part came after I checked out. I was charged 120 euro "room upgrade fee" without any of my consent and the program I used to book supposed to be coming with compliment room upgrade and 100usd credit (which should be 85 euro but they only claim 80euro). I would have neglected the extra charge if I have not read the bill carefully. Then I tried to reach them by email and no one repiled me for two days. Fortunately after calling them international call two days (yes no one picked up phone after 11pm), someone finally replied that he can settle the bill. Let's see how things turn out. I'm expecting a relaxing holiday at a fancy building, but now I'm still worried if I'll be wrong charged, this is ridiculous.

My family and I stayed here for a few days during the Christmas holiday season and we were very impressed with the Quad room on the 8th floor. The check in process was a bit slow until we saw a separate area for Family check in and our stay was great. Unfortunately my kids did come down with the flu and we requested chicken noodle soup from room service. It was not on the menu but the chef made it for them and it was delicious. Room service was always prompt and everyone on the staff was polite and welcoming. Definitely a 5 star experience.

I recently stayed at the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost for two nights during the festive season. As a frequent international traveller, I look for efficiency and comfort, and this stay was exceptional on both fronts. What worked well: Generous Hospitality: Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a category three classes higher than booked. The room was ready as per my prior intimation, which is a level of coordination I deeply value. Thoughtful Touches: We were welcomed with fresh fruit, gingerbread, and Christmas pleasantries. The festive decorations throughout the hotel were beautiful—I particularly enjoyed the Christmas train model on display. Room & Service: The room was spacious and the housekeeping team was prompt and meticulous in their service, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness. Unbeatable Location: Being situated right outside the Munich Central Station (Hbf) is a major advantage for international travellers. Efficiency Under Pressure: We had a very early morning train to Paris. The staff was incredibly quick and efficient during our early check-out, ensuring we reached the platform without any stress or delay. The Experience: The staff at this property truly understands the needs of a traveller. From the proactive room upgrade to the speed of the front desk during a time-sensitive departure, the service was seamless. We checked in right at peak times from Dec 20 to Dec 23. The stay was pleasant and the rooms were very well designed. No issues during the stay. However after I checked out, I found an additional $1473 (on top of amenities charges) charged to my credit card even though my stay was prepaid by Chase Travel. I’ve tried calling multiple times and sent an email without response; and now I have to file a dispute. The lack of communication is not acceptable.

My mother, 8 month old baby and myself had a fantastic 3 night stay at the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost in April 2025. We secured an incredible rate through the Visa Infinite Luxury Hotel Collection program, which offered "3rd night free" and included many complimentary benefits such as "room upgrade if available", daily free breakfast for 2, early check-in/late check-out if requested and others. In addition, being a Accor silver member allowed us to order drinks with a limit of around 40 Euros per each adult per the reservation. CHILD-FRIENDLINESS rating: 5/5. My mission is to stay at hotels to rate how truly "family-friendly" it feels based on what the hotel advertises, and I can truly say this hotel is incredibly child-friendly and probably one of the best ones so far. (Personal opinion). They offer a free bath amenity kit for babies, along with a complimentary travel cot per request, and their breakfast station included a dedicated baby/toddler section which offered local German branded good quality fruit pouches, and snacks for the littles. The take-out coffee after breakfast is a nice touch because when you have littles, it's often challenging to sit for a long time at breakfast and "enjoy the coffee". So having it to go allows me to get my sips of coffee in outside the breakfast restaurant. In addition, they use Stokke Tripp Trapp chairs for baby/toddlers at their restaurant which if one doesn't know, it's one of the best brands of high chairs out there in the baby product market. I wanted to use the spa today, but was told that this was only possible in combination with a massage – which, according to reception, wasn't true. The spa staff was also unfriendly, and I was asked for my ID for no apparent reason. Overall, I felt anything but welcome there. We stayed at the Sofitel Hotel over the weekend, and it was fantastic. The service at the reception is highly trained, especially Mr. V. Mitrovic. He was extremely helpful and recommended excellent restaurants and attractions. We've stayed at many hotels, but his honest and competent manner is exceptional, and we immediately felt "at home." Keep it up!!! The cocktails and the room are 10 out of 10. We'll be back!!!

My stay at this hotel was far from what I expected. The first room we were given was extremely worn down, with scratches all over and a generally outdated feel and was not cleaned well. After complaining, we were moved to a different room the next day, which helped slightly but didn’t make up for the overall experience. The staff did not make us feel welcomed , and the attitude throughout the stay was cold and uninviting. On top of that, every time we returned to the hotel, the valet argued with us about parking, claiming the lot was full and suggesting we park at another hotel. Why should I have to park somewhere else when I’m staying with you? Overall, I left feeling frustrated and undervalued as a guest. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience

Our experience was disappointing due to unresolved billing issues. We arrived early in the morning because of our flight schedule and found that our reservation had been cancelled. Thankfully, the front desk helped us reinstate it, and we paid the full amount again upon arrival, which is confirmed by our receipt. Despite this, we were still charged a cancellation fee through Booking.com. Additionally, we have not yet received the remaining balance of our deposit after the parking fee deduction. We contacted the property via email to resolve this matter but are still waiting for a response. We hope the management takes action to resolve this fairly. For information and reference, our reservation was from July 22nd to July 24th, 2025. Update on August 15th, 2025: We have not been refunded for the extra charge as official credit card transaction, although being informed by the property it is processed by Booking.com. We are waiting on further clarification on refund mechanism and receipt, as we had attempted to continue communications with the property through Booking.com, but no further reply has been received so far (which indicates no intention to reach fair closure). The only documented transactions that we can reference are the payment we made to restore our preservation and the extra charge as cancellation fee processed through Booking.com.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at your hotel and I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional experience. We've stayed there many times, but this was the last time. It's actually a beautiful, luxurious hotel, centrally located... But...there's no parking space upon arrival because hotel guests can't park in their parking garage. Unfortunately, you can't reserve a parking space, and there's no one to park your car for you. Only a "manager" who says his hands are tied. So you're stuck there, stuck in a daze, having to park your car somewhere in the train station district on a Saturday evening and walk back. Even a cocktail voucher is no use... The room is actually nice...but the fan is broken, the phone in the room is dead, and calling reception to order something means going through 5 menus (press 1...) and then no one answers. Too bad...

This Sofitel offers an appealing base for a stay and has a lot of potential. However, in my opinion, some of the finer details that define the typical Sofitel charm and the brand's special quality are missing. Compared directly to other Sofitel hotels I've visited, this hotel doesn't quite meet the usual standards in some areas. This assessment is based on my personal experience.

We felt very spoiled by the staff at the Sofitel. The staff and the facilities made this stay fantastic. We loved the breakfast. Jeffery made us feel so welcome every day with our 11 month old baby who was cute and well behaved but made a mess every morning. They had kid food, snacks and plates as well. The room was beautiful. They also provided baby soaps with the baby bed. The front desk staff was so helpful and accomodating. We enjoyed a dinner at the bar and had a great time as well. Thank you for a great stay. The gym was tight and just ok. Otherwise, it was fantastic.

Loved the bedding, spa and breakfast. We erre close enough to old town and walked around when needed we caught uber lots of taxis outside hotel. The hotel itself is a beautiful piece of history and architecture. Front desk Alex went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

Feedback on our stay at the end of December 2024 1. **Welcome and Service:** - Upon arrival, other guests were served before us, which we found unusual. - There was no room tour, as is usually the case. - No welcome drinks or a surprise for our son, which is often standard in other hotels of this category. 2. **Junior Suite:** - **Amenities:** There was no soap in the bathroom and no slippers. - **Shower:** The shower was clogged, and after 2-3 minutes, the water started running again. Despite contacting reception several times (by phone, with waiting times, and no response), we reported the problem to the Duty Manager in person. We were assured that someone would take care of it. A technician arrived late in the evening but was unable to do anything, and the next day's technician was scheduled for the following morning. - **Telephone:** The telephone line in the suite was not working. There was a tangled cable (photo was shown to the duty manager), and although the telephone upstairs worked, the problem wasn't resolved by the end of our stay. 3. **Room Cleaning and Service:** - The next day, only the bed was made, but no new cups, Nespresso capsules, or water were provided. After 10:00 PM, we had to complain to reception again to receive these items. - The clogged shower continued to be a problem the next day – it filled with water again after 2-3 minutes. This problem, too, was not permanently resolved. - Turndown service was again not performed, which we also reported by phone. We were told that it was probably "forgotten." (On the first evening, the gentleman personally organized turndown service after he had dealt with the clogged shower, and this only happened after 10:00 PM.) **Conclusion:** The stay did not meet our expectations for a hotel of this category. There were repeated problems with the room and service, which were not resolved to our satisfaction despite repeated complaints. We hope that these issues will be better addressed in the future.

The Sofitel Munich Bayerpost offers comfortable beds and well-designed, functional rooms. However, many rooms are visibly worn down — a renovation or at least a proper facelift is clearly overdue. The breakfast experience was disappointing. While the selection is decent, the service is far from acceptable: on a Monday morning, the queue at the omelette station stretched for over 1.5 hours. Moreover, the kitchen only prepares dishes listed on the menu — and an omelette is not among them. No flexibility, even for standard items. The spa is a real highlight: beautifully designed and very relaxing. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is ruined by one staff member who starts pressuring guests right after 8 PM to leave the sauna area. She does so in a rude and unprofessional manner — walking through the spa 10 minutes before closing and shouting at guests to start showering. Completely inappropriate for a hotel of this class. The in-house restaurant serves good food, but prices are extremely high. The quality does not fully justify the cost — dishes were nicely presented but lacked refinement. Overall: a mixed experience. The hotel has strong points (spa, beds, location), but service inconsistency, aging rooms, and the breakfast chaos significantly reduce the overall value

Poor service. Our reservation was canceled while we were on our way to Germany because we were a few hours late for check-in. Note: We tried to contact them several times regarding a refund, as they were the ones who canceled the reservation, not us. However, they never responded. For your information, we arrived, rebooked, and paid again, hoping to receive a refund later, but they didn't respond.

Beautiful hotel in a great location, just a short walk into the city center. There's a parking garage underneath the hotel where you can also conveniently charge your electric car. The rooms are attractive and clean. The beds are comfortable, and there are plenty of towels. The breakfast is good, and the spa is fantastic.

Overall, Sofitel Bayerpost is a great hotel in Munich. The location is hard to beat, the service is excellent, and the rooms are roomy (heh) and comfortable. My biggest complaint is the gym, particularly the area with weights. You can only comfortably fit 2 people in there (and there’s only one bench), and the time I went, 2 people stayed for over an hour before I left, and I wasn’t able to use any of the weights. Hopefully they can fix this!

Rude arrival, room wasn’t ready despite booking an early check in (although they upgraded us), room wasn’t a great design (with plenty of cobwebs), housekeeping often barged in without knocking and cleaning wasn’t great, room service was sometimes slow and had to be called again, and generally a very disappointing stay. Surrounding area is also a bit grotty. The worst Accor experience I’ve had.

The staff were not honest with me at all. Breakfast was added to my bill even though I asked not to add it. I did not have breakfast at the hotel at all. Parking fees were added, and my vehicle was not in the hotel parking at all. I have never felt in any hotel before that I was deceived except this time, unfortunately.

We're always happy to stay at the Sofitel in Munich. We were particularly impressed by the top-notch service. The location is also quite good; the hotel can't be blamed for the numerous construction sites around it, but it's worth being aware of if you're arriving by car. The rooms sometimes lack that final touch of attention, as I expect from a 5-star hotel. Specifically, the sound box and the top shelf need dusting. It will be done after I mention it to the reception. But that's the only criticism I have here. So, housekeeping, put on white gloves and check a bit more. On the other hand, the breakfast is absolutely fantastic and leaves nothing to be desired. The same goes for the excellent valet parking and the staff overall.

We loved the breakfast staff and the breakfast! What a beautiful way to start off the day. The evening manager helped us get tickets to the opera. He was a gem. Had a fabulous message in the spa. Loved the live orchids. They were stunning. I would have taken a class on how to get my orchids to grow like that. Dear Hotel Manager, I hope this message finds you well. I would like to provide feedback regarding my recent stay at Sofitel Munich. Please be informed that my reservation was made not only through the Amex Platinum The Hotel Collection but also as a Gold member of the Accor loyalty program, which entitles me to a range of benefits. Unfortunately, during my stay, none of these benefits were acknowledged or communicated by the staff — no mention of the $100 hotel credit, welcome amenities, room upgrades, early check-in, or late check-out. The experience felt no different from staying at a regular hotel without any loyalty status, which was very disappointing considering the 5-star standard and premium pricing. To be candid, if this is the level of service and recognition guests receive, then maintaining loyalty status or being part of a rewards program feels meaningless. The benefits seem nonexistent in practice. While I hesitate to compare, other hotel groups such as Hilton and IHG clearly communicate and honor their loyalty benefits, enhancing the guest experience. Some may suggest that I should have asked about these benefits myself. However, I believe it is the responsibility of the hotel to proactively inform guests rather than expecting them to inquire or chase after perks. It is one of the good hotels for accommodation and is close to the center of Munich, as it is close to Arabic restaurants and also to the marina in addition to the main train station.. But what is wrong with it is the breakfast, which I do not recommend at all.. The quantities are small and are not replenished when the quantity is finished except at the request of the staff and there is no variety as well.

I was completely satisfied with my stay at the Sofitel Munich. The hotel impresses with its elegant ambience, high-quality amenities, and extremely central location, right next to the main train station yet wonderfully quiet. The service was first-class: The staff were always friendly, professional, and helpful. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. My room was modern, very clean, and offered a high level of comfort – exactly what you would expect from a hotel of this category. I can't comment on the dining options as I didn't take advantage of them. Overall, a very pleasant stay. I would recommend the Sofitel at any time and look forward to seeing you again.

The location near the train station is unbeatable, the spa is beautiful, and the bar is also great. The staff in these areas are courteous and committed to making guests happy. The welcome gift (bottle of champagne) is also very generous, as is the room upgrade for Platinum members. Unfortunately, the reception leaves a lot to be desired; there was no proactive communication, and the staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly. The breakfast was also overcrowded and of poor quality, not worthy of a Sofitel. When we asked for a late checkout at 1:00 PM, we were told no, as high-status guests were coming after us. When we checked out and were asked how our stay was, and we said "mixed," we received no feedback... We then told them what bothered us, and they said we can always offer a late checkout and we can stay if we want. We politely declined.

For a 5 star hotel, the Sofitel Munich should have been much better. We found ourselves at reception one morning with no staff behind the counter, and no concierge either - had to wait a few minutes until someone noticed us standing around. Staff at breakfast were disinterested at best, and the food offering was very ordinary. Room was adequate but very dark. Worst hairdryer I have ever used in a luxury hotel. If staff are not there to provide excellent service to the customer, they probably shouldn’t be there. We have stayed at many Sofitel hotels around the world and our experience on this occasion makes us question the prestige of the brand. If you’re looking for a hotel next to the main train station, this is the one for you, but otherwise I would pass.

my stay at SOFITEL HOTEL MÜNCHEN was excellent this is the third time I have used this hotel and again it was a fantastic experience the service is really good when you arrive at the hotel you are welcomed by a professional team who are ready to help you and you can feel they do their best to ensure that you have a good experience when I arrived at the hotel I had a wish to upgrade my room it was no problem the receptionist quickly found a solution when I got to the room it was not exactly what I was looking for so I wanted to upgrade again to a larger room it was a bit of a puzzle for him to find a room but he managed He took the time to show me the rooms what options were available to me he was friendly and accommodating he made a really good effort to fulfil my wishes so five stars to the receptionists and bellhops SOFITEL HOTEL MÜNCHEN is a really nice hotel, stylish, beautiful surroundings, nice rooms, lovely spa area, swimming pool, sauna and steam bath, massage, really nice room service does it super well it's always clean super sweet staff and takes great care again five stars and the location is good, it is easy to get around the city and easy to get to from the airport if you use DB line S8, you drive directly from the airport to the hotel almost to the door for 15 € if you take a taxi around 120 € when I was checking out of the hotel I paid for my upgrade and a little bit from the minibar everything was as it should be when I got home a few days later I saw that 280 € more had been deducted from my account than we had agreed so I wrote an email to SOFITEL and asked I got a quick response from Sylwia Zawisza Back Office Manager who was able to inform me that it covered breakfast if it was not correct that I had used the breakfast at the hotel and it was completely correct that I had used breakfast I had been unsure because I had upgraded my room several times whether I could freely use breakfast or not so I had asked at the reception they were also a little unsure but they came back and said that I could use the breakfast for free I explained that to Sylwia Zawisza who again came back quickly and solved the problem so again really really good service the problem was solved also five big stars to Sylwia Zawisza Back Office Manager and SOFITEL HOTEL MÜNCHEN I highly recommend this five-star hotel All the staff do their utmost to make the guests feel welcome and comfortable Definitely a hotel I will use again.

If you are arriving in Munich via train, this hotel is literally right outside the station. It is very convenient and also very convenient to the S and U line trains and the above ground trams that can take you around the city. The hotel has comfortable rooms with nice showers and bathrooms. The breakfast buffet that was included with our rate was wonderful and offered nice vegan/vegetarian options.

We wanted to reserve a table for the following evening – a Friday evening – but unfortunately, there were no vacancies. Then, late Friday morning, we received a call with an offer for that evening. Unfortunately, we had already decided to go elsewhere, but what service!!! Hats off to them!!! We first ate there two years ago, and back then the food, the atmosphere, and the service were all excellent. That's why we wanted to go back... We'll definitely have better luck next time!

Food: The main course (saddle of venison) was very good, but the portion was extremely small and a bit too cold; the fish soup as a starter was somewhat bland (it used to be better); the wine recommendations were very good. The service could have been friendlier, and the cheese took a very long time to arrive, so we ended up having a third glass, which was okay. Conclusion: Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer acceptable.

1. Unfortunately, I missed the moment when foie gras started to cost as much as black caviar. At the same time, the portion was halved. 2. It was difficult to book a table, although we were sitting in a half-empty establishment. 3. I can’t say that it was incredibly tasty, the prices were above average. Our visit to Le Refuge on Christmas Day was unfortunately a huge disappointment! The food was presented without any care and lacked any finesse. The grumpy owner took our order wordlessly, with an unfriendly look, and then even made a mistake, so that one dish was missing from our main course, which we only noticed when it was served. It arrived considerably late and, accordingly, hastily prepared. Meanwhile, the owner spent the entire evening at length with a few obvious regulars. The earnest friendliness of our waiter couldn't disguise the feeling that we weren't really welcome in this establishment. When an owner doesn't even bid his guests farewell with a friendly "Merci," let alone a "Joyeux Noël," in his sparsely populated restaurant (on Christmas Day!), but only manages a short and reluctant "Au Revoir" before immediately turning his attention back to his regulars, then he truly deserves a correspondingly low rating. We certainly won't be returning to such a poorly run establishment with its exorbitant prices (for what, exactly?). There are far too many better and, above all, friendlier alternatives in our neighborhood!
