Robbengatter in Berlin

I've been a regular here for over 40 years. For a long time, the Gatter was my local. The cuisine has developed very well – and yet, even after 30-40 years, some of the same classic dishes are still on the menu. And the food is really good. You get a lot for your money. The atmosphere is very relaxed and informal. Not pretentious, but down-to-earth. Simply a place where you feel at home.

I went there for a meal again after many years and it tasted very good!

It's a good place to hang out. Wine and service are very good. However, we went there for Christmas goose, which was too dry. Still recommended for drinks and maybe other meals.

The food was terrible. I ordered pizza with shrimp, but they didn't bring any shrimp.

A pub you'll want to return to again and again. And it has been for decades. Quaint atmosphere, delicious food, friendly staff. It's recommended to reserve a table.

Never again! We reserved a table by phone for 5 pm without any prior contact from the seal enclosure. After about half an hour, a sign was placed on our table. Upon inquiring, we learned that the table had been given to someone else starting at 8 pm. When we pointed out that this hadn't been mentioned during the reservation, the employee was unwilling to compromise and simply stated that this was how it was displayed online and that they were a business. No attempt at accommodation whatsoever. Naturally, the new guests arrived promptly and pressured us to leave. This was the absolute worst experience we've ever had here; I've never encountered anything like it!

A traditional German restaurant serving mostly German cuisine. All dishes are freshly prepared, very tasty, and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and attentive.

Last week, upon entering at 2:40 p.m., I politely inquired about the lunch menu, which is offered until 3:00 p.m. The server's response was a very curt "No." My request for a more complete and friendly answer was met with no response whatsoever. I was treated as if I were "wearing the wrong shirt." Since I was waiting for friends, I stayed briefly, and we then left together. Overall, I found the service extremely rude and unwelcoming. For this reason, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

A charming pub with very good food. The price is perfectly reasonable. The beer selection is excellent; finally, a pub that doesn't just focus on mainstream options. The service is occasionally overwhelmed and could be more attentive. All in all, highly recommended!

The various breakfasts were plentiful and very tasty. The service was very friendly and quick.

Lunch was generally okay, a little salad with the meat and croquettes wouldn't have hurt.

Card payment didn't work. The boss asked me if I was a criminal or fresh out of a psychiatric hospital. If you want to be insulted, go there. The rest is money down the drain.

The 'must-have' in Berlin, always full, always delicious... I always eat the large currywurst with spicy onions, so I can't comment on the rest... but everything looks great.

Yesterday, after many years of good experiences, I was a bit disappointed. For a 'small' extra piece of butter (I had one on my breakfast plate earlier), I was charged €1.

Nice restaurant in Schöneberg, serving international and German dishes. A good selection of drinks, but be careful with the parking space; parking management isn't exactly cheap; we paid €7 for three hours.

The first thing that struck us was the exceptionally good and friendly service, even though we arrived at 1 a.m. on a Sunday. The food was hearty, and the quantity was definitely reasonable for the price. Aside from the wasps in the summer, it was a very good experience.

A really cool location. If you're looking for a pub atmosphere, the entrance area is perfect, while for restaurant fans, the back area is highly recommended. There's a beautiful, well-maintained outdoor area. The staff is super friendly. The food is incredibly delicious and well worth the price.

The place to be in the Bavarian Quarter! Highly recommended. Excellent food, top-notch drinks, a variety of excellent draft beers, and very attentive, always friendly and courteous service. The clientele is well-mannered, with all age groups represented. You just feel at home. Sports events are also broadcast on several screens in the bar area.

I've been here occasionally, but I was mostly dragged in by others. This time we deliberately ended up here; the approaching rain brought us here. The bar and the long, high-ceilinged dining room at the back are particularly impressive. The Robben Gate has a great atmosphere, especially inside. The food was absolutely OK. So, come here!

We had rösti with pork fillet strips. The meat was tough, the sauce watery, and the rösti wasn't worth the name. I've never had such a bad meal there.

We were there yesterday and were very satisfied with our meal. There were 4 small portions (8 as there were two of us). The food was quite varied, with a rather rustic German menu, but the menu also includes fish/asparagus/fusion/Asian cuisine. Everything was delicious and worth the price. Our waitress, like the one at the next table, was unreasonably rude when we asked polite questions when paying. The other staff, however, were in good spirits despite it being very busy. There's a full terrace and people smoke there, although not very much yesterday.

I actually quite like Robbengatter. I eat there about once a month and am usually satisfied. But yesterday, for the first time, I was truly disappointed. Robbengatter charges €18.90 for five spears of asparagus and three half potatoes (plus brown butter or hollandaise sauce). The Wiener Schnitzel costs another €11.90. The quality of the asparagus and potatoes was decent, but the breading on the Wiener Schnitzel was starting to peel off in places. The price-performance ratio for this dish is simply not right.

Very delicious breakfast...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 We had a very nice waitress (female)...much better than the gray-haired, very thin man with a grim expression, maybe he couldn't smile!?🤔 All of us were very impressed with the breakfast... We'll be back soon!

I've been to Robbengatter several times, meeting up with friends for Sunday breakfast each time. Everything at Robbengatter is just perfect: friendly service, excellent hot drinks, a wide selection of delicious breakfast options, and all at reasonable prices. Please note: reservations are essential on Sundays.

Wonderful "old Berlin" atmosphere and simply a great place! Delicious food in a rustic setting with great service! I've been a frequent guest over the past decade! Highly recommended! Also great for lunch!

Nice location to sit outside. We had the "rump steak" lunch twice with pepper sauce and croquettes... unfortunately the flat sirloin steak tasted like beef liver and was tough! We have to be careful not to let the standards drop: the staff remains as friendly, professional, and attentive as ever, but the food has noticeably declined in quality: hard-boiled fried eggs with blackened bacon wouldn't have ended up on the table like this before. Perhaps a slip-up.

A nice, traditional restaurant. They offer a wide selection of breakfast options and hot drinks. The salmon breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The men's groups on Saturday were a bit loud, which was a bit uncomfortable because I had to have quite loud conversations with my friend at times, and sometimes we had to briefly interrupt our conversation. It would have been better if the groups had been seated further away from the rest of the group.

Neighborhood pub atmosphere. Great home cooking. A large selection of German and international dishes. I go here a lot but always in the early afternoon and sit at stools on the bar side which is very nice and cozy. Evenings can be lively. OK service but can be a little cold. Anyone who doesn't know the Robbengatter has missed the good breakfast. The Robbengatter is still highly recommended after 50 years. The menu is varied and the price-performance ratio is right. Whether you sit on the terrace or in the Robbengatter, the atmosphere is very good thanks to the staff alone. You can also watch the World Cup or other important football games in a relaxed atmosphere and even if you don't want to attend a football game, you still have the option of retreating to a second room. The kitchen offers everything from original Berlin dishes to Asian dishes. Children's plates are not limited to fries, but there are also fish fingers or a children's schnitzel and the famous spaghetti on the menu. Dogs get a bowl of water without asking and anyone who leaves the Robbengatter without a smile is simply wrong-headed. The Robbengatter is highly recommended both for a first meeting and for a family meal. Thanks to the friendly staff and the boss who always keeps an eye on everything 😃😃👍

The Robbengatter is a really great and traditional restaurant where you can stop in to eat or just to drink. The menu in the Robbengatter impresses with classic home cooking, although each of these always gives its own style through small creative additions or variations to the entire menu. Vegetarians also get their money's worth. The atmosphere in the seal gate is rustic, which is due to both the charming furnishings and the regular guests, who warmly greet each other and liven up the place, without attracting negative attention. You can quickly feel at home in the seal gate, which is why it is absolutely worth a visit!

The food there is simply great. We were there as a group and almost all ate Christmas food. The duck was so tender, delicious. The ambience is a bit old, but it still has its charm. We'll be back.

A really nice restaurant with good food and very good service. The changing daily menu is great because the dishes are not too big and are relatively inexpensive. But the most important thing is that it tastes good. I only go there every now and then when I meet my godmother. Then we have lunch and can have a good chat. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the restaurant because it would get way too crowded and I might not be able to find a seat the next time I go.
