In a residential area where you'd expect to find a corner pub. The decor is beautifully maintained and original, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The welcome was friendly. The food was well-balanced and expertly prepared. The wine list was good in terms of both selection and price. The total bill was reasonable. Oddly, around 10 pm we were asked if we wanted coffee and a digestif, and the digestif menu was presented to us. Our server then disappeared and was never seen again. After 20-30 minutes, we paid from another server, without being offered a digestif. Our large group then left the restaurant without being offered any assistance with our coats or even a farewell. A rather strange end to a lovely evening.

We celebrated a friend's wedding anniversary here, and I think it's all completely overrated. 1) The food is served in bowls and dishes. You eat like a dog. Plates seem to be out of fashion. 2) The stainless steel cutlery is extremely scratched and looks worn, and the glasses appear to be promotional gifts. The water glasses even say "TaunusQuelle." Silver and crystal are apparently out of fashion, too. 3) The benches and chairs are hard and uncomfortable. Not for long stays. After just 10 minutes, I didn't know how to sit anymore. 4) The lighting is unpleasant and not at all flattering. 5) Mineral water was refilled without being asked, but the waitress kept spilling it. But worst of all for me: 6) The portions are tiny. You leave the restaurant hungry. and 7) The food arrived at the table lukewarm at best. The soup was cold, and so was the tomato and vegetables under the fish. On the other hand, the wines and liqueurs were first-class. The food was tasty, the fish had a great texture, but there could have been a bit more of each serving and everything should have been properly warmed. Unfortunately, the dishes and cutlery do not reflect the high standards of this restaurant. The overall experience is only worth one star for me.

This is the second time we've indulged ourselves at the Bieberbau. Super attentive and friendly service. I think she's the owner, and she takes excellent care of us. We felt very welcome again. The fantastic food, served in a relaxed, not overly formal atmosphere, is particularly noteworthy. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening celebrating his birthday and will definitely be back.

We were at the Bieberbau yesterday. The restaurant has a Michelin star, which is well deserved. The dishes are well-thought-out and taste excellent. It was our first time there and we will definitely return. The staff are kind and friendly, and the chefs know their craft. The wine pairing was very good. The portions are a bit larger than you'd expect from fine dining, which we found very pleasant. The location is enchanting. We were there in the summer, and all the dishes were decorated, draped, and arranged with flowers and herbs, presumably from the restaurant's own garden. These gave the meal an extra special touch. We will visit the Biberbau again and look forward to the next menu. A little insider tip: the Altona Gold Trout Caviar and the Goat Cheese Brulee were our favorites.

Food was AMAZING!!! Everything tasted so different from other meals I have had before. Fairly priced for the quality of the meal! 3 different anise bouche made it totally worth it. Appetizers and desserts were my favorite, especially the kohlrabi and the asparagus with caviar. The servers were very good, and the food was brought out very quickly every time.

A little and delicious 1 Michelin star restaurant in beautiful Berlin. It’s located in a neighborhood area so it’s very quiet and has trees and quiet walking paths all around it. Given that it’s a Michelin fine dining restaurant the portion sizes here are not large, but they are packed with flavor. Everything that we ordered was absolutely delicious and as someone who has been to many 1 to 3 star Michelin restaurants, I can say this one deserves its title. Everything that we ordered was very unique, prepared perfectly, and really hit the spot. The service was top-notch and our waitress was very friendly. They have a very large wine list and two different tasting menus that you can choose from. Given that it is a Michelin star restaurant it is more pricey than the average place in Berlin, but I feel that it is worth it. I started off with a really nice glass of pinot noir and thought it was fantastic. I followed that with a few more glasses because why not. The first dish that came out was the Altona Char Caviar (sauerkraut, Pine apple & Caraway). This was my favorite of the three items that I ordered and was a great start to the meal. Next came the Black Angus Beef with Celery (rose hips, walnut, morels & lupine cress). This was a very rich and hearty dish, and I think my favorite part were the morels and the sauce on top of the steak. It was a great entrée dish. Finally to finish up was the Alfonso Mango with Yoghurt (Macadamia, olive oil, vanilla & dill). This was a great end to the meal and really stayed on my pallet the rest of the night. Overall we had a fantastic and romantic dinner and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Berlin. It is expensive, but life is short and this is totally worth it.

I was there for the second time and it was a dream again. There is a fixed menu but you can combine it with other dishes from a smaller menu. The taste is excellent, the boss is incredibly personable and takes time for each table to exchange a few words. You also sit in rooms with wonderful stucco. So in addition to the fantastic taste, you also have a lot of fantastic things to see.

Die positiven Bewertungen kann ich alle bestätigen. Sehr leckeres Essen! Die Geschmackskomponenten sind fein aufeinander abgestimmt, das Spiel mit Texturen klasse. Mein Favorit: "Saiblingskaviar". Man hat erst eine Schicht aus knackiger Yuzu Kuvertüre, innen dann ein weiches Pasinaken-Mouse; die fruchtig, ganz leicht süße Kuvertüre kombiniert mit dem Salzigen des Kaviars - klasse! Besonders gefällt mir als Gast, dass die Preise für ein Sternelokal bezahlbar sind. Nett ist auch, dass man im Laufe des Abend insgesamt vier extra Kleinigkeiten aus der Küche bekam. Der Service sehr freundlich und zurückhaltend. Hin und wieder hätte ich mir gewünscht, ein bisschen mehr Erzählung zu der Kombination auf dem Teller zu bekommen, aber auf Nachfrage wurde sehr freundlich reagiert. After being informed that I was traveling alone, I received a confirmation for one person. After a few days, the written rejection came without giving any reasons. Obviously they are not interested in individuals... I have never been treated like this in any fine-dine restaurant.

Seit 20 Jahren nochmals hier und es war immer noch besser als erwartet. Wie schafft ihr das? neben der unfassbar kreativen und delikaten Art der Speisen auch noch die Räume so schön zu halten und überaus herzlich bedient und empfangen zu sein. I went to the Bieberbau for dinner with a larger group and we had booked the six-course menu. From a culinary point of view, it was really excellent - every course was creative, tastefully balanced and craftsmanship of the highest standard. However, the distance between the aisles could have been a little shorter. The service was very friendly and attentive, which made the evening enjoyable. In terms of price, the restaurant is of course at the expected level for a Michelin star restaurant. What didn't convince me personally was the atmosphere. It didn't seem particularly inviting to me, so I probably wouldn't come back personally. Definitely a recommendation for a special culinary experience in an upscale setting.

We were excited to try this Michelin restaurant after seeing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. Both the food and service fell far below the standards one would expect from a Michelin-rated establishment. The dishes lacked creativity and flavor, the service was inattentive and unprofessional, and the overall ambiance did not reflect the high level of quality associated with Michelin restaurants. Considering the prices and reputation, we expected a much higher standard. Sadly, this restaurant did not live up to its rating, and we would not recommend it to anyone looking for a true fine dining experience.

Unfortunately, after our visit, the restaurant fell well short of our expectations. I have visited many starred kitchens over the last 20 years, but here I was disappointed in both the taste and the service. The atmosphere wasn't particularly inviting either. Overall not a good experience. I will not book again and I also cannot understand the many positive reviews. My two stars are well-intentioned. I still wish the operator all the best and hope that he takes my criticism kindly.

(Last visited 1/24/2023.) While working in Hamburg, Germany for the first time visiting this wonderful country, I decided to take a drive down to Berlin and visit the biggest city in the country! Often when in Europe my wife and I like to visit Michelin Star rated restaurants because they're typically cheaper, more available and the tip is included (thus cheaper)! Lol. So today, we checked out Bieberbau, a Michelin 1-Star restaurant! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set a bit outside of the city center is this gem that genuinely is a bit hidden among some residential neighborhoods. This place is built inside an old studio house that was built at the end of the 1800s. The decor is so cool, laid back and filled with history. The carpet is bright red, the archways are so incredibly detailed and the energy in here was laid back. Service: Like an any Michelin-rated restaurant, the service was EXQUISITE. Beyond good. However, almost everyone has an accent of some kind so you have to really pay attention to when they're explaining things to you. Needless to say, we had no complaints. Food: This is going to be the hardest part for me to explain. Lol. Since I wasn't taking notes on each dish as I was eating them, I can't describe everything to you. What's most important is that the food is TOP TIER. The menu is designed to tell a story of the colder months in Germany, which it does. One thing I do absolutely love about these kind of tasting menus is that when you first sit down to check out the menu, you see 6 courses. But there's almost always extra. Lol. Amuse bouches come out then the pre-desserts after the savory courses conclude. The dinner winds up being like 9 and you're completely stuffed. Value: I mean, look. If you're coming to a place like this, you should know you have to pay to play. However, Bieberbau is willing to work with you. So they have several menus you can choose from and you can choose 3 courses for 86.50€. However, there are MANY more courses you can add to seemingly create your own menu and it's only an addition 12.00€ to do so! So if you're on a date and you get some wine, you can easily come out around 400.00€ at the end, but like I said, this is an experience, a journey in food. Totally worth it. In conclusion, I'm sitting in Berlin, Germany RIGHT NOW as I type this over 2-years later and this took me back down memory lane. I'm considering revisiting this place since they change their menu often... We shall see... Thank you for reading!

Este lugar está construido dentro de una antigua casa estudio que se construyó a finales de los años 1800. La decoración es genial, relajado y lleno de historia. La alfombra es de color rojo brillante, los arcos son increíblemente detallados y la energía aquí se relajó. Servicio: Como cualquier restaurante con clasificación Michelin, el servicio era EXQUISITO. Más allá del bien. There were two of us in the fully occupied Bieberbau. We wanted to treat ourselves to something special for Christmas dinner, so to speak, just before star cuisine. We only later googled the fact that the Bieberbau actually has a star when we were unfortunately a bit disappointed with the food. With three courses, two greetings from the kitchen and a sweet ending, we didn't have a dish that could have been described as having interesting taste explosions on the palate. There were a few things that we were looking forward to, like a carrot meringue or a beetroot foam with chickpeas, but none of it made the actual products really shine. You wouldn't have recognized the salsify in the starter as such because they were probably cooked in well-salted broth and tasted exactly like that, whereas the delicate mushrooms that accompanied them obviously didn't stink. The venison fillet was good, to the point, the vegetable side dish was accompanied by a pretty pile of raw autumn leaves. Good, but unfortunately "nothing to write home about". We were really surprised when we read that the Bieberbau had received a star. Especially because we recently completely agreed that Bon Vivant was absolutely right to get one. In our opinion, there is a world of difference between the two restaurants!

The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, with a successful mix of modern design and historical flair. The menu was superbly thought out, with creative and harmonious combinations that both surprise and delight the palate. Every course was perfectly coordinated, from starter to dessert. The ingredients were fresh, seasonal and of the highest quality. I would particularly like to emphasize the loving presentation - each dish was a small work of art. I was so,so,so, disappointed. I had been looking forward to this and it was a Christmas present to myself. Dinner started with a choice of wine from the pairing selection. It was very good. The one bite buns and amuse bouche were good. Only just. Then things went downhill. I was so looking forward to being presented with dishes that were too pretty to eat. None of the dishes looked like the photos. Everything was presented terribly and looked unappetizing and not fresh. My starter had RAW Jerusalem Artichoke haphazardly smeared into the sauce. Served in a boring bowl. It was horrible. Tasteless. I had the steamed cod for the main. Cod is a bit lacking in flavour at the best of times. Pretty much raw and no seasonings. It was not fresh and flavourless. When I eat fish in the style of sashimi I want it to be so fresh that it tastes like the sea. The only flavoring came from a bland beet risotto. Beet risotto at a Michelin star restaurant? What a cliche. They weren't even able to concentrate the beet flavour. On the fish were raw tasteless button mushrooms. The presentation was poor. Then came a pre desert. Sorbet. I have already forgotten what it was or tasted like. Dessert was goat cheese creme brulee and pear. Two bites. Goat cheese smeared on the bottom of a boring bowl. Virtually no brulee. A teaspoon sized quenelle of sorbet. No taste of pear as said. Not even the sechuan peppercorns had flavour. Finally some complimentary petit four served on an out of style piece of wood that has seen better days. A soggy profiterole. It was either filled too soon or was from the day before. A dry, very dry pistachio cookie and a stupid jelly. The jellies from the supermarket have more flavour. My dinner mate had the venison. She was satisfied but I could see from across the table that it too had something wrong. The presentation was terrible. The leaf cutouts which look so fresh and tasty in photos looked stale and were haphazardly pushed into the teaspoon of sauce. Service was good but the restaurant itself doesn't have as much atmosphere as I would have thought with the beautiful plaster work. I didn't say anything to my dinner mate but when I got home I was practically in tears. If you're looking for a more expensive restaurant or one with a Michelin star I would suggest choosing one that is a little bit more expensive than Bieberbau. Don't take a chance if you're going to pay 150 euros or more for dinner. Again, very disappointed and I felt ripped off.

A visit before Christmas should be special. So we chose the Bieberbau restaurant. For someone who has cooked in top restaurants, this is a special pleasure. We enjoyed a creative four-course menu that left nothing to be desired. Creativity, presentation, taste and aromas make the evening a special experience. A shop with a beautiful atmosphere and nice aesthetics. The dining experience was quite good. You are given the opportunity with a three-course menu to choose first, mainly dessert, to experience a different and delicate culinary journey. Delicious flavors and quite good ideas. I think the dish with the pazario soup is one of the best on the menu, as is the venison. They stand out the bread with the butter foam. The desserts especially, although the dessert with the avocado did not please us, but I understand the concept. I would like to add that we would like better guidance from the service regarding the options on the menu, the service has room for improvement. The kitchen is the strongest part of the restaurant! Superb dinner at Restaurant Bieberbau last week. Sensible prices for the quality, charming historic surrounds and warm welcoming bi-lingual service (our German is far inferior to the floor staff's English). Michelin recognition is often associated with overt technique - foam, mist, ingredients pretending to be something else. That can be fun but sometimes you just want a proper dinner full of seasonal flavour- which is what Bieberbau delivers in spades. There are two menus and you can pick and choose between them. Cleverly, if you want to sample a number of dishes, they will adjust the serving sizes so you all leave feeling replete and not uncomfortable. The menu changes every six weeks. We encountered pure Autumn - beetroot soup with coconut and lovage, caviar with (of all things!) a kind of paprika custard, steamed cod with risotto, sublime venison and so on to a perfect vanilla ice cream with cous cous with raspberry and parsley gel dots. The Owner and Head Chef, Stephan Garkisch, is not throwing his skills at you- it's much more subtle than that but apparent in every mouthful. Perfect blends of seasonal flavours, a lovely crunch or textual element in every dish, a remarkable lack of obvious seasoning (which you also feel no need for). You just know that everything has been thought through - that ice cream will have been practised 50 times and you will enjoy the simple perfection of it. With a set menu you often have one favourite. Here is the opposite - we found it hard to single out the highlight as all was consistently excellent and not a single dud. Amazing. On wine, very reasonable offers of half bottles to go with the current menu after a house champagne cocktail. We had the helpful assistance of Owner and Front of House lead, Anne Garkisch also in advising on the odd local wine by the glass to go with a course, or digestive with coffee. Loved it and would love to return.

Die angebotenen Menüs halten schon beim lesen von der Bestellung ab. Von 8 mini Gängen war einer ok, zwei genießbar und der Rest einfach abenteuerlich bis furchtbar. A diner in the Bieberbau...hmm, not easy to rate. The food was very tasty. The ambience is good, but the acoustics, like in a cafeteria... just way too loud. Unfortunately, the service was mediocre and not attentive enough. We didn't have a drink or be offered anything over two courses - not even water. The table also looked very crumbly after several courses, so we would have liked to have used a table broom or something similar.

A few days ago I and my companion were once again able to enjoy the wonderful hospitality of the Bieberbau, which, in my opinion, is outside and above any rating system. No matter whether it's the extraordinary compositions of the individual dishes, the attentive, personal service, or the listed building that frames a magical evening, this establishment stands out from the rest in every category. Not only that, I can't say that too loudly, it makes the bill for such an evening seem very fair in comparison, even though it beats other houses in every respect. But it is clear that exceptional quality has its price, so this point cannot be a criterion for an evaluation. Although I'm not a wine connoisseur, I don't miss out on the wine pairing, because I also find varieties that match the individual courses and surprise and delight me. Matching non-alcoholic versions are also offered, and there is also a suitable drink for young gourmet newbies. Personally, I particularly love the numerous greetings from the kitchen, and it also seems particularly generous to me that my companion, who had not ordered a second starter like me, was repeatedly given a sample version of my dish. Of course, it starts with freshly baked bread specialties and a tasty spread, although you have to be careful so that there is enough space for the following courses. My favorites are still the herbal aromatic starters and the heavenly dessert variations. On a Friday evening in early November I celebrated my birthday with a small group. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. We were welcomed very courteously and served discreetly and attentively. The food is a skillful mix of new and traditional; with small samples between courses. The portions are sufficiently large, the taste is finely balanced and attractively prepared. All around a recommended restaurant; Reservation early enough is advisable! We would like to thank the entire team and wish them all the best Because it was so beautiful - on June 28th. I again had the opportunity to dine on a very fine menu. A perfect combination, discreetly attentive service, and even with a 3-course menu you will be more than full - the portions are large enough and there is always a greeting from the kitchen at least twice. The absolute highlight: white asparagus mousse in chocolate with trout caviar, with elderflower and elderberries. It's fascinating what ideas the chefs come up with. A very good wine recommendation rounded off the pleasure. All the best to the entire team!

Take an elegant dining room with large picture windows looking out to fresh green park views, add delicate crown moldings and elaborate decore to the exposed wooden beams and have the perfect setting for an elegant and wonderful culinary journey in Berlin. Located on a quiet street near Rudolph Wilde Park, the menu is creative, the presentation is breathtaking, and the service is Devine. But the hero of the 3 course menu is the surprising combination of delicious flavors and ingredients that pop with freshness and delight with every bite. A very solid restaurant with good cuisine. The service is really attentive and friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is nice. Why only 4 out of 5 stars? Because overall it is unclear to me why the Bieberbau received a star from the Michelin Guide and can defend it year after year. The whole menu was really good, but only one course was worthy of a star in my opinion (white chocolate/cauliflower mousse/beetroot foam). The rest was very solid and tasty, but neither surprising nor innovative. I had expected much more in this regard.

I've been a regular here for over 40 years. For a long time, the Gatter was my local. The cuisine has developed very well – and yet, even after 30-40 years, some of the same classic dishes are still on the menu. And the food is really good. You get a lot for your money. The atmosphere is very relaxed and informal. Not pretentious, but down-to-earth. Simply a place where you feel at home.

My father-in-law made reservation for our family. I tried the christmas buffet which I selected goose meat, roulade, red cabbage, rice, Apfelstrudel etc. Everything I tried were quite tasty and Apfelstrudel is backed according to the original recipe that you can’t find almost anywhere like this nowadays. Staff were friendly and dining room was nicely organised. It is a very historical restaurant which has a character and reflects its history by its inner design. I am planning to visit there again.
