When my girlfriend and I visited the restaurant, a waiter came to us and asked directly: "There are two of you?! Then sit at another table." However, the table we were directed to wasn't even cleared. The waiter also lacked basic politeness - he didn't seem to be familiar with words like "please" and "thank you". This unfriendly treatment made us feel unwelcome and decided to leave the restaurant immediately. Treating guests with respect should be a given, but unfortunately that was not the case in this case. Waiting an hour and a half for a lowe truffle pasta for way too much money

The Riva in Düsseldorf is characterized by attentive service and an elegant ambience. Delicious starters, such as oven-fresh pizza bread with tuna cream and aioli, as well as perfectly prepared main courses, including Tagliarini with truffle and Fussili Norma with eggplant and burrata, pamper the palate. We ate in Riva for the first time on Friday and have to say we were completely satisfied with the food and the service. Starter, main course and dessert were all on point and very tasty. The waiter was friendly and attentive and immediately refilled the glasses when the glasses were empty. The atmosphere is pleasant and high quality. The only point of criticism was that the tables were a little too close to each other. We'll definitely be back.

Waren schon öfter im Riva, dieses Mal auf einer Geburtstagsparty. Der erste Eindruck war leider nicht positiv, es roch im gesamten Restaurant nach Zigarettenrauch, da im Vorzelt geraucht werden darf und es ständig von dort reinzieht. Als Nichtraucher vergeht einem da schon mal der Appetit...Karte war wie gewohnt sehr umfangreich und vielfältig. Leider ließ das Essen ewig auf sich warten, Speisen waren gut, das Risotto allerdings deutlich zu bissfest. Die Pizza war allerdings überhaupt nicht gut. In einem Restaurant dieser Preisklasse erwarte ich eigentlich, dass die Servicekräfte mal nachfragen, ob alles OK ist, das erfolgte nicht. Insgesamt ist das Riva meiner Meinung nach zu teuer für das Essen, aber man geht ehrlicherweise auch nicht für das Essen hin. Es geht eher ums Sehen und Gesehen werden, was am Publikum sehr deutlich zu erkennen ist. Uns werden sie allerdings nicht mehr sehen.

A very nice bar restaurant. We had a reservation for 7 p.m. and could choose whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. The food is debatable as to whether 10 prawns for €48 were worth it. It was tasty but there was still something missing. All in all, we definitely recommend a visit here for the beautiful ambience.

The two of us just wanted to enjoy an evening meal for 200 euros, but the owner said that we couldn't eat without a reservation. It was just before 7 p.m. and there were fewer than ten people in the restaurant. At first glance you could see around 50 free places. Nevertheless, they didn't want to serve us. Okay, then we'll just take our money to another restaurant. If you only serve guests with reservations, that's fine, I accept that. But I also have the right to write a bad review. That's only fair. Definitely I will not enter this restaurant again in my life.

There were two of us there with our little dog. Despite not being very busy, we got the smallest table, the dog didn't get any water and my friend's plate was cleared away before I had finished eating. The same applied to the water bottle. The empty one was simply taken with us, without the stretcher whether we would like a new one. The service was really not good. The food tasted good, but everything happened too quickly one after the other, so we felt like we were about to be thrown out. We don't go there anymore.

Warm ambiance with attentively selected decorations, colours complementing the light in mustard, grey & brown tones. The food was tasty, big portions compared to my expectations ! Quality ingredients, good plating. The pizza 🍕 was not the best choice ( too oily),but the schnitzel exactly as in the good Schnitzel houses in Vienna. Overall, nice restaurant for an evening out. The wow effect is missing and some fine tunning for the details (like cleaning a bit the table between serving new plates, serving the drinks in time) can elevate the customer experience. The servers all very nice and polite, chapeau!

Not a bad place in terms of cocktails and food, but it’s cramped like in a bathhouse or a movie theater. The guys are doing a good business, saving on the personal space of guests. It’s not very pleasant to eat and see the cleavage from someone else’s table next door a millimeter from the plate. We're unlikely to return.

We decided to visit the Riva Restaurant because of the positive reviews. Of course, the prices in a city like Düsseldorf are correspondingly higher and you know this before you visit. However, everything should be consistent. Non-judgmental because this can easily happen, bruschetta was forgotten and parmesan with the pasta only after two reminders + friendly staff + Map clear and not overloaded - Tables are extremely close together, so a cozy atmosphere cannot be created. A table next to us was supposed to be occupied so that we couldn't get up. Unfortunately it feels like mass processing and is an absolute no go. - Price-performance doesn't fit. For a starter for €56 for two people, I just expect more. A plate with pickled vegetables, as well as a ball of burrata + tomatoes, carpaccio and vitello tonnato is a bit ambitious. In addition, the shrimp were unfortunately over-fried. Main courses were good but not exceptional.

Eigentlich war ich sehr begeistert vom Riva und war dort oft essen. Jetzt sieht der Laden uns nie wieder!

Instead of eating à la carte, we received a multi-course menu that was fine dining in every respect. Each course was carefully composed, perfectly flavored and visually appealing. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent wine accompaniment, which rounded off the menu wonderfully. What impressed us most, however, was the exceptional feel-good atmosphere. The stylish, yet cozy atmosphere and the attentive, yet unobtrusive service made us immediately feel welcome. We were able to enjoy the evening to the fullest and always had the feeling that we were well looked after. The Riva is without question an excellent address for culinary experiences at the highest level, coupled with an ambience in which you simply feel good. We will definitely be back – a real highlight in Düsseldorf!

This is highly recommended for our 50th birthday celebration. We really loved the food, the staff was super nice and friendly. The atmosphere is truly fantastic. If you are in Düsseldorf, go there and you will not regret it.

So, here we are in Dusseldorf! Riva has an amazing wine list, we settled on the Antinori Basis Pasignano. That did not disappoint. Overall, the food was excellent and the vibe/location amazing! Owner Michele was a superb host, an evening not to be forgotten!

Service sehr bemüht und aufmerksam, aber nicht aufdringlich. Wir konnten noch einen Tisch draußen nutzen. Im Innenbereich wäre es definitiv nicht so ruhig gewesen, da die Tische sehr eng beieinander stehen. Das Essen war sehr köstlich. Ein delikates Zusammenspiel aus unterschiedlichen Geschmacksnuancen, eine kreative und harmonische Zubereitung der qualitativ hochwertig verwendeten Produkte, welche den Gaumen einfach erfreuten.

A place to be during trade fairs.

Ich gehe sehr gerne und seit sicher 20 Jahren in das Restaurant Riva in Düsseldorf. Das Ambiente ist wirklich sehr schön. In letzter Zeit ist die Weinqualität bei den offenen weißen Weinen jedoch extrem schlecht, was uns mehr und mehr in andere Düsseldorfer Restaurants gehen lässt.

Obwohl wir einen Tisch reserviert hatten, war keiner frei. Wir haben dann aber doch noch einen bekommen. Es war generell sehr hektisch und keine entspannte Atmosphäre.

Wenn ich könnte, würde ich diesem Laden weniger als einen Stern geben! Wir waren zu zweit zum 3. (und definitiv letzten!) Mal im Riva, auf Empfehlung – fragt mich nicht, von wem. Nach unserem letzten, schon nicht berauschenden Besuch dachten wir, wir geben nach COVID nochmal eine Chance. Großer Fehler! Zehn Minuten unsichtbar für die teilweise 5 beschäftigungslosen Kellner, bis endlich eine meinte gleich zu kommen! 15 Minuten später durften wir dann endlich rein, aber natürlich auf die „Kiesbettseite“ mit billigen Schirmen – danke, meine Absatzschuhe lieben es! 400 Euro Schaden! Zwei Klassen Restaurant! Kiesbettseite für nicht reserviert und schöner Holzboden mit teuren Schirmen für die gehobene Klasse!Trockenes,kaltes Brot mit Ölspendee auf dem Tisch.Aioli konnte die erste Kellnerin sich nur für Meter merken!Als Krönung war das Steak statt Medium-Rare fast durch, welches 30 Minuten gebraucht hat, mit der absurdesten Ausrede des Chefs, das Steak müsse ruhen & wenn es 2 mm roh ist von innen,ist es richtig. Was es allerdings nicht war! Hätte ein neues haben können, wollte aber nicht weitere 20-40 warten! Kellnerin: 10/10, rettet aber nicht den Laden! Flop 👎 Völlig überteuert

The ambience is very appealing. The selection of food is very good and the dishes taste really good, but for the restaurant I would have hoped for a little more in one dish or another: For example, tuna tartare and carpaccio were ok and didn't leave a “WOW effect”, but lettuce did! The service was sometimes unfriendly, the wine was not refilled, the order was taken upon request. The tables are so close together that every time I got up I had to disturb the other guests eating and ask if they could slide their chair forward a bit. However, overall it was a good evening with my friends. I will most likely not come back.

Stepped out of the rain had tables right next to me nobody waiting and there is an arrogant semi gray haired man that seems he’s the wrong guy to give any sense of power to because he turned away good money for ego on the patio. They were full was his reason but it clearly wasn’t true, and he seemed pretty adamant against Americans. As displayed when I pointed out, there was plenty of room. Trying to move past his arrogance, and he physically blocked me from looking for a barstool. I would recommend avoiding this place until that man’s no longer there. the restaurant owner I recommend not one man’s ego in front of your income.

Das Essen ist prima, wenn auch überteuert. Mit erheblichen Teilen der Göste möchte man nur gesehen werden, wenn man Neureiche mit aufgeblasenen Lippen und sonstigen vergrößerten Körperteilen mag.

Verstehe den Hype absolut nicht. Ambiente nicht special, Gäste abends wie eine Fahrt mit der Geisterbahn und für den Preis in Düsseldorf schon wesentlich besser gegessen. Unser Kellner hat messbare Unterschiede zwischen den Gästen gemacht! Bei jedem der Gäste im uns herum goss er die Getränke ( Wein und Wasser) in die Gläser der Gäste. Meine Frau und ich surfen für uns und unserer Tochter die Getränke sogar entgegennehmen. Sehr freche und unfreundliche Art am ganzen Abend was einen erneuten Besuch sehr unwahrscheinlich macht!

Outdoor sitzt man wirklich schön. Unser Wiener Schnitzel und Carpaccio war super! Hinter uns war ein großer Tisch mit vielen Gästen. Der Kellner war freundlich wirkte aber sehr gestresst und rannte ständig wegen dem Tisch hinter uns mir in den Stuhl. Warum bei der Reservierung nach dem Anlass gefragt wurde, verstehe ich bis heute nicht. Ich hatte zwar Geburtstag, aber wofür genau sollte die Info sein?

When you visit a restaurant/bar in Düsseldorf you should think that you will be treated with at least respect. Not only was the service totally unfriendly and condescending in tone, but also the fact that as a guest you are put under pressure to drink up quickly because there are other guests waiting for a table (we sat for 5 minutes) with an existing reservation. Then you want to pay and tell 4 waiters, you won't receive the bill until after 45 minutes. If you only want to welcome guests with a certain appearance, then put a sign on the door and stop treating people so disrespectfully just because they are not over 40 and full of Botox. The one star is for the toilet - it was super clean.

My husband invited me to the Riva on our wedding day, which unfortunately was a total failure. The ambience was nice, but the food wasn't anything special for the price. We were also greeted with a watch in our arms and put under total pressure to order quickly and eat quickly in order to leave the restaurant as quickly as possible. A drinks menu was only available upon request and very reluctantly.
