Ristorante Pizzeria Dua in Zell (Mosel)

Delicious food with a view of the Moselle. We visited twice in four days because everything was perfect for us: pizza, pasta, wine, espresso, and service.

Last weekend, we visited Pizzeria Dua for the third year in a row with a group of six. Dua has become a regular during our holidays on the Moselle, and we're happy to make a detour for it. Our teenage daughters consider it an absolute must-visit. Delicious food, super friendly staff, a lovely terrace with a view of the Moselle, and all at very fair and reasonable prices. The schnitzels, pizzas, and pastas are highly recommended. The pizza rolls as a starter, the salmon tagliatelle, and the carbonara are our favorite dishes. Payment is cash only, but with a bank/ATM literally a two-minute walk away, that's no problem either. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a delicious and affordable meal in a cozy, homely atmosphere!

Great food, everything fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive – we felt completely at home. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to finish the tiramisu this time because we were already so full. But we'll definitely try it on our next visit!

Wow! We finally got around to going to this fairly new restaurant and boy, did we enjoy it. The prices were great. Service was ok. Food pretty darn good and the beer and wine was great, too. We sat street side, outside and I'd never do it, again. It was way too loud, but it was prime time, summer. I'm sure there are quieter times and there is also inside dining. I'm fairly sure this place is open year round which is a big deal for this area.. We are totally going back here. It's ideal for parties, kids and even doggos. This is just really yummy, down home, simple cooking. (It is possible it is not authentic Italian, but it's awesome either way.) Right up our alley! The menu is beyond fab. I can't wait to try more items. There were plenty of vegetarian options. They have some pretty original pizzas on the menu. I completely recommend this place.

We ate there twice this week. The food and salads were absolutely top-notch, nothing to complain about, and the service and staff were simply first-class. Just because it says "Italian cuisine" doesn't mean it's real. A discerning Italian will notice from the photos that the dishes have nothing Italian about them. There's only one restaurant in town that serves 95% Italian cuisine and products... look carefully.

The pizza wasn't top-notch Italian, but it tasted pretty good. It's a shame about the run-down decor and the somewhat poor hygiene (worn-out tablecloth, broken armrests, and dirty menu), but it was just fine for cava when you're really hungry.

I wouldn't eat schnitzel there again. It wasn't ham from the butcher. I'm guessing it was factory-made.

I didn't know that pasta with vegetables could taste so damn delicious. I ordered the Tagliatelle Vegetaria (zucchini, bell peppers, broccoli, garlic) and a side salad with balsamic vinegar/oil. The pasta had plenty of vegetables mixed in, cooked to perfection, just like the tagliatelle (just slightly over al dente). The friendly service was attentive; my order was taken quickly, and they checked during the meal to make sure everything was okay. Ambience: I sat on the covered, shaded terrace facing the street on the first floor. There's a great view of the Moselle River. Italian music plays in the background. It's a really pleasant place to stop. Highly recommended!

We spontaneously got a table on Sunday evening. The food was excellent, and we didn't have much time as the table was already reserved for later. The staff were never intrusive. We had sucuk as a starter and pizza as a main course. Everything was fresh and very, very tasty.

After reading the reviews here, we decided to try the restaurant while on holiday. It was okay, but unfortunately very loud so you could hardly have a conversation. The food was okay, not a real highlight but okay. The lasagne was a bit small, basically just in the middle of the dish, and the spaghetti was unfortunately thrown onto the plate a bit carelessly, but it was tasty. Our first welcoming waiter was relaxed, in a good mood and friendly, but his colleagues were unfortunately rather annoyed. All in all, it was okay, but unfortunately I wouldn't go back. Oh yes, the menu in the photos here is definitely out of date, there is a new one with more expensive prices, unfortunately I forgot to take a photo.

We didn't have a reservation, but we still got a seat on the terrace. Very friendly, attentive service. The food was delicious; we ordered pizza (highly recommended) and pasta. Everything was perfect. The only drawback was that card payments weren't accepted.

The outdoor terrace is absolutely amazing. And of course, the food is great. The service is 5 stars...We'll most likely be back 😉

One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever visited. The location and terrace are beautiful, but the pasta was completely overcooked. Even after they tried to prepare it again, it came back the same. To make things worse, there was a fly on the plate. Clearly, they have no idea what al dente means. And the final bonus: the owner kicked me and my partner out of the restaurant – even though we had left a tip. They don’t accept credit card, only cash. Feels a bit suspicious.

We ate at the pizzeria several days in a row. We personally didn't like the pizzas that much. (Hence "only" 4 stars.) The pasta dishes are amazing. The lasagna, in particular, deserves 5 stars. I've never had it this good anywhere else. We had the spinach lasagna. The dessert is also delicious. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The service and the staff are fantastic; every one of them has a smile on their face, and no matter how busy it is, they take the time for a quick chat. We are absolutely thrilled and recommend the restaurant wholeheartedly. :) Recommendation: Make a reservation before you want to eat there. It was always very, very busy.

There were nine of us there. The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. Even having four dogs with us wasn't a problem. They even had water. This was our second time here, and it certainly won't be the last.

The view of the Moselle and its vineyards alone is enough to invite you to linger. The restaurant is family-run, and you'll receive a very warm welcome. Culinary delights include lovingly prepared dishes like tomato soup and sole. Finish with a fantastic tiramisu, and you'll experience the dolce vita firsthand. Beautifully situated overlooking the river. We were seated right at the very end of the lunch opening and the service was great. Fast and efficient. The food and wine were excellent.

We were satisfied with the food, and the staff was also very friendly. You can sit comfortably both inside and outside on the terrace. I'm deducting one star because card payments aren't accepted. Even though there's a sign at the entrance to indicate this, I think it's outdated and, depending on the group size, impractical.

In a beautiful old house this restaurant serves a culinary experience of the Italian kitchen. Polite and friendly waiters who give you the time to choose from the menu. Three pasta's with three sauces is a tasteful experience if you like to eat pasta. The tiramisu was like an angel caresssing your tongue with creamy mascarpone and perfect layers in a soft shadowtaste of coffee.

I don't know how these reviews came about. I can confirm that the staff is very friendly and the ambiance is quite nice. But the food? The pizza resembles a Wagner stone-baked pizza in shape and taste with a little fresh pizza topping. The menu, somewhat misleadingly, lists a "Wiener Schnitzel" under the generic term "Schweineschnitzel." The correct term here would be "Wiener-style Schnitzel" to really avoid confusion. But the taste of this schnitzel also leaves a lot to be desired.

Great Italian restaurant in Zell an der Mosel. Nice ambience inside and a great view from the outside terrace. The food was very tasty and the overall price-performance ratio was very good. What is particularly noteworthy, however, is the sensational operation. Very polite and hard-working, always with a smile on your face and always keeping an eye on everything - that's service. Service is super nice, ambience is very good. Food fills you up. Unfortunately no more. I had noodles. Unfortunately there wasn't even a pizza roll in advance and the parmesan was out of the bag (like the cardboard spaghetti used to be). But it was nicely served in a ceramic bowl.

Unfortunately no Italian-run restaurant. An Italian would not “get lost” here. Anyone who knows good Italian cuisine will be disappointed here. Despite the many positive reviews regarding the pizza. The dough consists of poor flour and the topping is not of high quality. Some frozen pizzas taste better. Salad with parsley instead of Italian basil? Unusual.

Pizza Tonno , Pizza Quattro Stagione , Schnitzel Hawaii and Salmon salad were very good. Unfortunately, the Pizza Speciale and Spaghetti Carbonara were a lot less tasty and somewhat bland. The latter seemed to have been made with cream and/or too little Pecorino. Fortunately, tiramisu was a tasty ending. - here too, only cash payment applies 👎

The worst pizza crust ever, a cheap defrosted pizza or a pizza from the vending machine is better. Interesting that no card payment is accepted (you can imagine that) - but it successfully prevents you from ordering too much due to a lack of cash and being disappointed afterwards. When you end up finding dishes on the menu and a name that doesn't sound Italian at all, then it dawns on you that you might be being taken seriously. The service was actually ok, but when you find hard black plastic pieces in the salad and you even research what that could be, you expect an apology from a (especially Italian) restaurateur and maybe a grappa as an apology... Edit: there was actually that at the end, but rather "wordlessly"... The stars for the ambience go to the nice terrace with a view of the Moselle.

Great restaurant with an interesting menu. The mix of Balkan and Italian dishes initially unsettled us slightly. Wrongfully. Not only was the service very good, casual and very attentive, but also the food. The sucuk pan and the baked feta as starters were extremely tasty. But pizza, pasta and the mixed plates are also highly recommended. The seats on the terrace have a direct view of the Moselle. Very polite and patient waiters. There were four of us there as a family. Twice. We would have gone more often and still found something new, but also wanted to give other shops a chance. The winner is clearly this great restaurant.

Was there last night. Very busy on a Monday evening. Fine ambience, service very friendly, food good 👍🏻, but then... no EC card payment… supposedly too expensive…. Were directed to the ATM behind the house in the pedestrian zone. Are you serious?! A couple next to us felt the same way... cash only during this time?! Doesn't work at all... It's a shame ☹️ it's too expensive and I found the reference to an ATM really offensive...hence points deducted for the ambience...

“Ristorante Dua” can be recommended without reservation. It is a family-run restaurant with very tasty food that is prepared with a lot of love. Even for me, as a vegetarian, there were many dishes and the large terrace offers a wonderful view of the Moselle. It should also be noted that we have never met such hospitable and courteous hosts as Afrim and Imra. Because of them, we returned to Zell again this year.
