We stopped here while passing through – luckily, on New Year's Day, we got a table for five right away. The restaurant was packed. The pizzas were fantastic – the seafood was sensational! The spaghetti baked with pizza dough (see photo) was a visual treat. Highly recommended, thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Best pizza in Germany – and that's saying something, considering I've eaten a lot and go to Italy 6-7 times a year to eat pizza. I'm from the Frankfurt area, and unfortunately, the food options near the German-Swiss border are very poor. But this pizzeria is on a different level. You can tell it's prepared with love, and the staff are very welcoming. The atmosphere is so lovely; you feel right at home. There's always a complimentary appetizer from the kitchen, which makes the whole place feel like a family. This is about more than just processing customers.

Excellent service; we hadn't reserved and were lucky (5 pm). The pizzeria was packed. The pizza was sensationally good.

We love the traditional ambiance. The food is very good...the steak and lamb are a dream, and the wines are fantastic. The best lamb chops for miles around, for years... We enjoy spending a lovely evening at the restaurant.

Since childhood, Gabriele's has been my number one for Italian cuisine. It's remained that way over the years, and we're always happy to welcome guests. The hosts are friendly and the waiters are very attentive. I'm always thrilled by new dishes, especially the meat dishes, which are second to none. I'm just sad that the burger is no longer on the menu; it was my bright spot during the coronavirus pandemic. 😉 Keep up the good work and I hope it stays with us for a long time to come.

Never again – 1.5 hours of waiting for a mediocre pizza The three of us were at Ristorante Pizzeria Da Gabriele and unfortunately had one of the worst restaurant visits in a long time. The start was a disaster: 20 minutes before anyone even came to our table – and then, of all people, the very unfriendly waiter (bald), who didn't even bother to smile or show any kind of politeness. Guests who arrived significantly later than us were served before us. A lack of concept in the service? None. After 1.5 hours, our pizza finally arrived. It tasted okay – but absolutely nothing worth waiting so long for. In response to our repeated inquiries, he only received the standard refrain: "The food will be ready soon." Even the friendly waiter with glasses (the only bright spot of the evening – he at least knew how to treat guests) couldn't save the evening. The friendliness from the kitchen was half-hearted at best, and there was no trace of hospitality. Conclusion: Never again. If you like to get angry and see hunger as your evening program, then this is the right place.

Very friendly service staff and a great atmosphere. Always busy, but this can mean a long wait for the food. But the wait is worth it!

Although it was very busy at 7 p.m. on a Saturday evening, we got a table quickly. We waited almost an hour for the food. We were served delicious bruschetta bread with tomatoes and freshly baked bread. The schnitzel with Gongozola sauce and various vegetables and the baked schnitzel with vegetables were very tasty. The portions were huge; one schnitzel with the delicious side dishes was enough. The pizzas and spaghetti were also very large. Many people got food to go, and even though it was so busy, everyone was very friendly and quick. I came here with my parents 50 years ago and now I always enjoy coming back when I'm in Bad Säckingen. A feeling of welcome and Italian hospitality. Claudia Heßß

After asking twice when the drinks would arrive, waiting 45 minutes is simply an absolute no-go. The service and organization has become tragic. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back; this is the second time in a row that we had to wait over 40 minutes for the drinks, and always with the same waiter. Incredible.

A piece of metal in the food. Absolute no-go. I always enjoyed getting pizza there. But this time, there was a piece of metal from a bottle cap in the pizza topping. I would advise everyone not to eat there.

We visited the restaurant in a pleasant atmosphere, accompanied by some live music, which further enhanced the mood. We ordered a salad with a mini pizza and a pizza with prosciutto – both were delicious and freshly prepared. The prices are affordable; we paid around €40 for two, which I think is absolutely reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. The server was very friendly and accommodating, even though we had to wait a bit longer for the food. However, the restaurant was full, so that's understandable. All in all, a pleasant experience that we would gladly repeat.

You immediately feel at home here; it's a real taste of Italy. If you appreciate good food, this is the place for you. Large portions, superb quality, a special starter, and great value for money! My favorite is the "Floriano" pizza with beef strips. An insider tip, though, is the beef fillet in any variation... Better than any steakhouse :)

We've been coming here fairly regularly for 16 years and are always impressed. This time I was here with my son. We had Italian antipasti for starters and spaghetti carbonara and a fitness plate with entrecote for main courses, all very good! We'll keep coming back!

The food was bombastically good. There they still speak, cook and serve with Italian flair. A little old on the outside. The service depends on the staff, we had initial problems understanding the Italian waiter which caused him slight frustration when ordering. But in the end everything was fine again. The focus was on the food and from A-Z it was the best Italian food I've ever had. I would give it 10 stars.

Best Italian in the whole area. The food is very good across the board and the atmosphere is excellent. I can also particularly recommend eating outside in the beer garden in summer. There is a little entertainment for kids and the food, the team and the good atmosphere make you immediately forget the street next door. Always worth a visit.

Great restaurant, very kind owner. Prices are great and portions big. Ordered pizza and received soup. Really Really impressed.

We probably had a very bad day... We were first allowed to wait at the entrance for 15 minutes unnoticed (even though we had a reservation). Two of the three starters came relatively quickly, the third was forgotten and came much later. Afterwards we were allowed about 1.5 hours! Waiting for the main course...other tables even waited two hours. There was no explanation for the waiting time and at times the service left a lot to be desired (no requests for drinks, etc.). The service seemed very overwhelmed and unstructured. Bolognese was very good, spaghetti frutti de mare was “well”. We won't be coming back.

Vallah was way too warm in there and then food came after an hour and a half and there was also a gay guy who hit on me who was really not happy.

The second time I returned to this restaurant, I was unpleasantly surprised by the behavior of the manager, which I would describe as “racism”: he had placed us on a table far from the main room while the other customers, even those who had not reserved their table, were all placed in the main room. The fact that we're Asian should really bother him...

Top gastfreundliches Team, superfeines italienisches Essen. Hier kann man sich wohlfühlen. Der Gruss aus der Küche war eine feine Bruschetta, lachend von der Chefin serviert. Das liebenswerte Wirtepaar hat die 80 wohl weit überschritten, aber ihr Feuer für die gute italienische Küche brennt immer noch heiss. Der Hauptgang mit den Vongole war ein Genuss. Danke, wir kommen gerne wieder. Tipp reservieren Sie immer einen Tisch.

Oh the first pizzeria 53 years ago, I was there as a child. Always very good quality, the best pizza I've eaten. Visiting friends, I can't describe it better. Time has stood still when it comes to the interior design, but I like that, it's cozy. Bring your time, it sometimes takes a little longer, but you will be rewarded with very tasty food.

The pizza was good. Tuna very fresh, dough well baked, unfortunately the edge is a bit too black. Owners very friendly and welcoming, we felt very welcome. Until the waiter came. Bad mood, no fun at work and just don't expect jokes or even a smile. The atmosphere outside was actually quite nice except for the countless flies and screaming children whose parents had never heard of education. I would have liked the staff to intervene after 10 minutes of constant shouting...

We had a wonderful appetizer platter for 4 people. Top price-performance. Great quality. The boss personally brought them to the table. Thank you.

The staff are very warm and will respond to your every request, but you should bring your time. If you don't have the time, you should eat somewhere else, everyone else will be able to enjoy the best pizza (and other great dishes) far and wide in a family atmosphere.

I was there for the first time 20 years ago. Not for a long time due to moving etc. I was there late on Saturday evening in December and it was still the same as before: the food was great, everything was fresh, the service was courteous and friendly. The owners are also very nice and hospitable. Even though we arrived late, we were not sent away, but rather welcomed warmly. I've been there three times now and always been super satisfied. I like the atmosphere and that you don't smell like the food (clothes/hair) afterwards. Pasta is made in-house, as befits good Italians. Only cash payment possible. I would like to come back soon. We made a reservation at short notice and received a table for two at the desired time that same evening. The service was very quick, unobtrusive and friendly. The menu is pleasantly clear and is complemented by the seasonal menu without it appearing overloaded. The plates are lavishly prepared. Cannelloni and asparagus risotto were very good, cooked like Nonna's. The dry white wine also went well with it. The classic tiramisu was a poem. Aperitif and digestive and espresso were quickly at the table. We were only disappointed with the antipasti and the rolls. The antipasti was also plentiful and lovingly prepared, but far too meat-heavy. We would have liked more grilled and marinated vegetables such as zucchini, mushrooms, artichokes, peppers and olives. Instead there was a lot of cold cuts, some cheese, a bit of rocket. If vegetables cannot be served due to the season, this would be worth mentioning on the menu or by the service staff. The rolls were relatively small and the crumb was not fluffy at all, but rather dry. All in all, the evening was very nice and the quality of the food and service was so good that we would like to come back and recommend Da Gabriele without hesitation. Thank you 💐

Perfect food you have to plan time but it's worth it

The best Italian in all of Germany. And we travel a lot. Price/performance top. Homemade pasta, great pizza. Everything typically Italy. Very nice Italian family. The pizzeria has been around for over 50 years and the quality has always been consistent.

Food very tasty, very large portions. However, you can sometimes choose smaller portions. Unfortunately the food didn't come together, I had already eaten for 15 minutes before my husband's food came. Furnishings are a bit old, lots of decoration... but maybe just typically Italian ;-)

Fantastic restaurant! You should always reserve a table in advance as it is ALWAYS full! You also have to be prepared for slightly longer waiting times when it comes to ordering. The service staff are very friendly and hard working! But when there's so much rush, they can't keep up straight away, which is understandable. No card payment possible! Now to the food: whether pizza, pasta, risotto or steak - everything is incredibly delicious! The best Italian restaurant around! Everything is prepared with so much love and the portions are generous! We had to have the rest packed up because it was really lavish. The dessert was also very tasty, this time there was panna cotta with caramel and a berry sauce. We got a little liqueur on the house from the boss - he's a very funny and nice guy! All in all, we were very satisfied and will definitely come back to try out the menu up and down. Thank you for a great evening

Fantastico! There were six of us in the restaurant on a Sunday evening and it was already quite busy. A nice, rustic Italian restaurant that has been around for many years. The service is extremely friendly and accommodating, despite all the stress. What you have to remember about this restaurant is that it's always busy! It can also happen that it takes longer to consume drinks and food. So don't just "go in quickly". But if you know that, you can adjust to it. The food was simply divine! I would say it is the best and most authentic Italian restaurant around! Since there were six of us, everyone had pretty much something different and we could try things out. As a starter we had a Margherita pizza together, which was very tasty! The main course included seafood risotto; the entrecôte once with herb butter and once with a Gorgonzola sauce, which was fried to a perfect medium rare, each with vegetables and pasta as well as small potato wedges; Variation of four different pastas, each fried in a different sauce or with vegetables; Penne della Casa in a dough coating and, last but not least, various pasta gratinated. All dishes were lovingly prepared and everything was very, very tasty! The portions are generous so most of us took leftovers home even though we are all good eaters :-) At the end, despite my full stomach, we had an espresso and a small dessert: panna cotta with blueberries, a berry sauce and a caramel sauce. Conclusion: Yes, you have to be prepared for longer waiting times, BUT: you really have a great evening, with a lot of heart, good food and you go home happy. Extremely friendly and familiar staff - very pleasant. The Italian cuisine from Ristorante Pizzeria da Gabriele is a real delight! From starters to dessert, every dish was a masterpiece. “Real” Italian portions are served. If you don't like everything at once, you can take the rest of the food with you. There is parking right in front of the restaurant. All in all, the Ristorante Pizzeria da Gabriele in Bad-Säckingen is highly recommended.
