Ristorante Da Carlo in Hamburg

Can't say anything negative. The food was delicious and even though the place was very busy, it came very quickly. The only thing we didn't receive was the bread in advance. We forgot that ☹️

We tried to reserve a table for two people on December 29th, 2024 on January 11th, 2025. On the phone, after a short greeting, the employee said, "We're busy on New Year's Eve, call next year" and hung up. That's it, no please, no thank you, no apology... Thank you for nothing!

Today we ate at Da Lui as a family with 2 children and both Margherita pizzas for the children were oversalted or too salty. We then spoke to the boss, who immediately became defensive and very unfriendly. We asked for a discount which was refused. We were offered a new pizza, but only one because we had already eaten one pizza together. The problem with the over-salted pizza was completely dismissed and thus suggested to us as customers that we were not taken seriously. Unfortunately, the feeling of feeling comfortable, secure, understood and valued was not created in this restaurant.

Oversalted pizza, which is not a problem in principle, but the reaction of the staff and the landlord was just bad. Unfortunately super unfriendly!

We have eaten at Da Lui several times both privately and for our Christmas party. The same happened yesterday, before our visit to the theater. It was always a wonderful evening. The padrone is charming and very attentive to his guests. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is always freshly prepared and very tasty. We'd love to come back!

We last went to Da Lui for the first time and were absolutely thrilled. Especially the homemade pasta and the pistachio sauce with duck were a dream! The owner is very friendly and you immediately feel at home there. No wonder Da Lui is my father's favorite restaurant. :)

Great restaurant in Winterhude. We were there for the first time, but definitely not the last. Simply delicious. We had the tortelini with peas and minced meat. Tasted excellent.

This was our second time in the restaurant and we were very satisfied both times. The waitresses and the innkeeper are extremely attentive and dedicated to their guests. All the dishes we had were delicious, well prepared and the side salad was special and fresh. We would love to come back here. Oh yes, the special knife for cutting the pizza is really cool.

Four of us had dinner at Da Lui on a Saturday evening. We went because of the positive reviews. The ambience is quite nice, the furnishings are a bit old. The service was friendly. There were three pizzas and one ravioli to eat. The food was below average to bad. The ravioli were undercooked on the edges. The pizzas were topped with some kind of sprinkled cheese, definitely not fresh mozzarella. The tomato sauce was very salty. The dough was 2mm thin throughout. As an Italian restaurant, I think you should point out that the pizza dough is not yeast dough. The pizza was far from an Italian pizza, we were all very disappointed. The price-performance ratio for the pizzas simply doesn't fit. One of the four plates was (very obviously) damaged and had a sharp edge. Another plate had a print that was half-washed and scratched. For us, that simply confirmed the loveless overall impression of the place. We won't be coming back. There are numerous better alternatives in the immediate area.

We had a wonderful evening at Da Lui. The lamb fillet was buttery tender, and the surf and turf was fried to perfection - simply delicious! The mixed dessert platter was a real eye-catcher and really impressed us in terms of taste. Plus attentive, friendly service – we’ll definitely be back!

The bread, which was served with olives and a garlic sauce, was sticky and not fresh. The spaghetti bolognese was way too spicy. Neither at the beginning nor when clearing up was anyone asked whether everything was OK. Prices are okay.

Four of us ate there yesterday. The food was ok, the service was a bit inattentive, but the crowning glory was the boss at the cash register. Because we asked whether we could also pay the tip by card, my partner's mother was harshly approached: "Consumption with card, tip in cash." My partner then laughed (probably out of embarrassment) and was immediately reprimanded with: “What is there to laugh about?” Then he cashed in, pocketed the tip ivHv 10 euros that was now on the table, and disappeared without a word. We were all just horrified by this outrageous behavior. Not a word of thanks, no goodbye, nothing! It was definitely my last time with the gentleman and I will no longer recommend him because of his derailment.

We ate a quick snack before going to the theater as we were very short on time. It worked wonderfully, the food was fantastic. Thank you very much for the great service!

Landed here by chance and was completely thrilled. Traditional cuisine, excellent service in a cozy retro look. Price/performance is right. We recommend!

Very winding and therefore very cozy pizzeria - I always come here when I'm visiting Hamburg. Very tasty pizza and absolutely quick preparation. The store was completely full and yet we didn't wait ten minutes. Be sure to reserve in advance, otherwise expect waiting times. The menu is really large, there is a lot to choose from - a clear recommendation! :)

I have been a regular customer at the restaurant “Da Lui” for 15 years and am always impressed by the service and the quality and abundance of the restaurant's food. As a business owner in the immediate vicinity, for me and my customers it's not just the lunch menu, but also the evening menu, compared to all the restaurants here at the location. incomparably good to very good!

I've been eating pasta for 5 years now, I work in a shop on Hudtwalckerstrasse and I can simply say that the shop is one of the best restaurants in Hamburg. Passi and his colleagues always serve us politely and if anything happens, it is always taken care of immediately.

Yesterday we went to Da Lui for the first time because we wanted to eat something before visiting the comedy Winterthuder Fährhaus. We were pleasantly surprised. The reception was very friendly and accommodating. Since we only had a small time window available, we decided on an appetizer cellar and a pizza. Both were freshly made and tasted very good. The price-performance ratio was great. On our next visit to Da Lui, which we have already planned, we will devote more time to the main courses.

Antiparti della casa simply world class, the tomato soup is the best, that we have ever eaten, the bruschetta at Champions League level. The price is also right - what more could you want

The Da Lui restaurant is an institution on the Winterhuder market square. It feels like they've always been there. Accordingly, the ambience and furnishings are outdated and more suitable for genre lovers. Personally, the last time I was there was over 10 years ago. I found the food back then to be average to bland. A good reason to try again. My ravioli with spinach and ricotta filling on mushroom sauce was very decoratively prepared. But unfortunately the dish tasted bland. The wine, a Primitivo, was also weak in expression and almost without body. At least the rhubarb spritzer was refreshing and intensely flavored. The service was surprisingly quick. We were a group of 10 people and the team took care of us quickly and confidently. One person was inattentive when the food came and overlooked their food. Our waitress was annoyed and made it clear. It was already late, but that wasn't so professional. A service person who brought drinks mumbled and was therefore very difficult to understand.

Great Italian restaurant. Very tasty food, great service and very good value for money. We will be back definitely!

A quaint Italian restaurant. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. The pizza I had and my wife's bruscetta were fantastic. The prices were absolutely reasonable. I would really like to go back here.

Went there again after many years and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the furniture is a bit old, but it is comfortable and has its charm. The food is incredibly tasty for the relatively cheap price, and the staff is very friendly and quick. I would go again and again! My absolute favorite restaurant in all of Hamburg.

Great Italian here in Winterhude, the prices are completely okay. The service is very attentive and always has a suitable saying ready. We would love to come back here and can only recommend the restaurant.

Food was great. However, the service was quite stressful, which unfortunately affected the friendliness and service. The shop was a bit too full and 1-2 tables less would certainly have added to the charm.

Very friendly staff. The waiter didn't need a pen to take the order. We find that remarkable.

When my ten year old mix-race son asked for rice, the owner made a Schlitzaugen gesture on his eyes, while saying they do not serve rice in this restaurant. We found it extremely racist. He could have simply said they do not serve rice in an Italian restaurant without being racist to anyone, not to mention to a kid. My son was very much affected by the gesture, and said he felt very uncomfortable throughout the dinner afterwards.

“Da Lui” is a very authentic restaurant with very tasty food at very good prices and high quality at the same time. If you want authentic Italian food, you should go here. A very great shop!

Great restaurant, the atmosphere is romantic and cute. Got a table very quickly, even though we came spontaneously. The grappa flows like river just like sweet delicious red wine. Food is very good 👍 a classic Italian restaurant- ps. You even get a drink at the door

Between 5 and 7 p.m. the place is packed with theatergoers. This seemed to overwhelm the staff, which resulted in pasta that was probably cooked too long and without salt. The fact that the food is then slapped on you with love and without comment doesn't make the experience any better. Incidentally, similar comments came from both neighboring tables. Positive: After 40 minutes you are outside again and can go home.

Reservierung wurde nicht notiert, etwas planlos. Teller für das Brot vorweg wurden weggenommen, aber zur Pizza kamen die 3 Scheibchen ohne Aufstrich für 2 Personen. Lachs-Spaghetti naja. Pizza mit Peperoni war sehr überschaubar belegt. "Hätten Sie ja was sagen können...". (Habe ich, aber da stand das Essen auf dem Tisch und die wenigen Peperoni waren unter dem Käse). Sahne für das Eis zum Nachtisch haben sie nicht. Geschirr könnte mal erneuert werden. Mit der Bezahlart war man überfordert (Kartenart hat er nicht begriffen) und aus diesem Grund wird die Bedienung/ der Chef (?) beleidigend, ob man lesen könne. Wirkt sich auf das Trinkgeld aus. Nie wieder...

Familiär, gemütlich , Lecker 😋 Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist gegeben

Gleich vorweg: das Essen war super. Aber: so viel Unfreundlichkeit habe ich selten erlebt. Chef und Chefbedienung waren grottig. Der einzige Lichtblick war die junge Aushilfe. Dazu laut, eine dröhnende Klingel, wenn eine Mahlzeit fertig war und schmutzige Teller vor drei Tischen.... Eng . Ich nicht wieder....

Um mit Karte zu bezahlen wurden wir aufgefordert zum Tresen zu kommen, so weit so gut. Als wir dem zu zahlenden Preis das Trinkgeld hinzufügen wollten, wurden wir in barschem Ton darauf hingewiesen, dass das Trinkgeld in bar zu entrichten wäre. Am Tisch wieder angekommen, haben wir dann einen fünf Euro Schein dem sehr aufmerksamen Kellner überreicht, der uns während des gesamten Essens bedient hatte. Daraufhin kam der Chef an unseren Tisch und maßregelte uns in einem unglaublich unverschämten Ton darüber, dass das Trinkgeld gefälligst nicht einem bestimmten Kellner zu geben wäre, man würde so, OTon „das Betriebsklima vergiften“ , das Trinkgeld sei unter den Kellnern aufzuteilen?? Wie bitte?? Das kann und darf doch nicht das Problem der Gäste sein?! So frech sind wir noch nie in einem Lokal behandelt worden, Unverschämtheit!

Super Essen und ein sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis zeichnen diese Pizzeria aus. Sehr freundliches Personal. Waren das erste mal hier.

Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt! Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam! Das kleine Restaurant war sehr gut besucht und der Geräuschpegel war leider sehr hoch!

Zugegebenermaßen ist die Einrichtung etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Aber sie ist immer noch sehr gepflegt und urgemütlich. Die farbliche Abstimmung mit der weiteren Einrichtung ist einfach großartig und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Das Personal ist superfreundlich und schnell. Das Essen war das für das angebotene Preis Leistungsverhältnis toll. Ich durfte die Pasta Genova genießen. Die Ente war durchgebraten aber saftig und die pistaziensoße war unbeschreiblich lecker. Auch die Nudeln waren auf den Punkt gegart. Die Pizzza meines Kollegen sah einfach großartig aus und schmeckt doch wohl auch dementsprechend. Aus unserer Sicht war das Restaurant mit seinen Preisen zu günstig für das angebotene Niveau. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Es erstaunt mich immer wieder wie nett und zuvorkommend das Personal in Da Lui ist. Ich war vorgestern mit meiner Freundin dort zum Essen obwohl wir keine Reservierung hatten und das Restaurant zu dem Zeitpunkt recht voll war, haben wir nach einer kurzen Wartezeit einen schönen Tisch für drei Personen bekommen. Bei der Bestellung fällt es einen sehr einfach, da hier wirklich für jedem was dabei ist. Ich habe zunächst eine leckere Vorspeise mit meiner Freundin geteilt und anschließend habe ich auf vorherigen Anfrage eine gluten freie Pizza bekommen. Der Abend lief wunderbar und als jahrelanger Kunde kann ich sagen, dass das Restaurant seine Klasse über die Jahre gut aufrecht erhalten konnte. Ich empfehle dieses Restaurant jedem weiter der auf der Suche nach einem niveauvollen italienischen Restaurants mit guter Preisleistung.

Eine sehr große Mittagstisch Auswahl, das Essen ist sehr lecker, die Portionen groß und die Preise gut. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Lokal ist nicht sehr groß und Parkplätze in der Nähe schwer zu bekommen. Bei etwas Fußweg kann man in das Parkhaus am Winterhuder Markt gehen.

Das Essen ist sehr gut. Die Portionen könnten etwas Größer sein.

Wir hatten zwei sehr gute Gerichte zum Abendessen, welche ihren Preis wert waren. Das Preis leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Der Wein war sehr lecker. Der Kellner hat Hamburger Schwung und Zunge. Kann das Restaurant sehr empfehlen. Wir hatten um 18 Uhr reserviert und das Restaurant war voll besetzt.

Italienische Gastfreundlichkeit. Tolle Fleischgerichte. Tolle Pasta. Pizza ok. Insgesamt empfehlenswert. Am Wochenende besser Tisch reservieren (vor allem für Gäste Winterhuder Fährhaus).

Echt leckeres Essen, mit Charme und Freundlichkeit serviert. Sehr angenehmes Ambiente. Wir hatten Tagliatelle mit Pfifferlingen und Lasagne. Sehr gut gemacht. Da gehen wir gerne nochmals hin.

Sehr gute Location. Wir waren mit 47 Personen zum 3 Gänge Menü dort. Es hst alles super schnell geklappt und das Essen war sehr lecker. Der Service war sehr freundlich.

Leider haben wir wohl bezüglich des Trinkgeldes einen Fehler gemacht. Das Trinkgeld hat der unermütlich rasende Kellner erhalten Das hat der vermeintliche Inhaber/Geschäftsführer gesehen und O-Ton: das war ein bisschen frech zu uns gesagt!!!! Dies sei ein Team. Nun ist der Laden für uns gestorben Schade
