The Classico Italiano in Dresden is a real insider tip for lovers of Italian cuisine. The ambiance is stylish and cozy, and you immediately feel welcome. I was particularly impressed by the tiramisu – heavenly creamy, perfectly balanced, and simply authentically Italian! Accompanied by a delicious cappuccino, the kind you'd normally only get in Italy. An all-round successful visit – I'll definitely be back!

Our visit to the restaurant was an absolute highlight. The pizza is one of the best you can eat, as is the pasta, which was not only perfectly made but also absolutely delicious. The ambiance, the friendly and attentive staff, and the unique piano playing are a guarantee of absolute well-being. This restaurant is definitely on our itinerary for our next visit to Dresden.

We had two pizzas and a dessert today. The food was delicious, perfectly crafted. The atmosphere was lovely. The tables were invitingly set. The staff was friendly and efficient, and we felt very comfortable.

Our visit to Classico Italiano was a true highlight. The location alone is hard to beat: right next to the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), with a wonderful view of the historic heart of Dresden from the terrace. Sitting there, in good weather, is an experience in itself. The staff welcomed us very warmly and served us attentively and warmly throughout our stay, without being intrusive. You can feel that hospitality is a top priority here. The restaurant completely won us over from a culinary perspective. The menu is varied and authentically Italian. I would particularly like to highlight the Pizza Diavolo – a crispy base, perfectly seasoned, and just the right amount of spice. A true treat that you won't soon forget. Overall, Classico Italiano combines excellent food, a stunning location, and a friendly team – a place that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy Italian cuisine in a unique atmosphere.

Great atmosphere, slow and unfriendly staff. We had cappuccino and hot chocolate, unfortunately lukewarm and quite expensive.

The portions are nice and small, and easy to manage. The location is perfect with a beautiful view. It's also a relaxing spot in the evenings.

The atmosphere was wonderful, with Italian music playing in the background and the Frauenkirsche (Martin Luther statue) right next to it. It was delicious. The margarita was delicious; a little more Italian spice would have been even better. If you can find a seat, avoid sitting right under the speakers. Our waitress, Kathleen, was very polite and friendly; it's an experience I'd love to experience again on my next trip to Dresden.

I didn't get bread and olive oil when rest of the guest got it, same with tissues, after all, waiter demanded tip :) poor service, pizza ok but I wouldn't say it's Italian pizza, it's just pizza, ok if you are hungry. That's all

We stopped here for a beer. Service is quick and its busy. Good ambiance on the terrace and the location is great as you are facing the main church

The atmosphere is good—no need to talk about it! The food was good! But I've had better! Still, it was completely okay!!! Unfortunately, it was the service in our case—which was nice, but too pushy. It was almost tiring to be constantly asked if everything was okay or if we had any requests. Another person's face showed that they were either overwhelmed or completely bored. All in all, okay—but we'd rather go somewhere else next time.

I was really let down by this place — the food was the worst I’ve had around town, and the service didn’t help. I asked which dish was most popular, but the waiter brushed it off with ‘they’re all good.’ That left me with no guidance, and what I ordered turned out to be very poor quality. It would be much better if staff could recommend the chef’s specialty or point out what regulars usually enjoy. That way visitors like me don’t walk away regretting the meal.

The food was really good but they would not accept card for payments under 20€ and its not written any where! So they asked me to pay 20€ instead of 18.70 That one euros is nothing but it feels abusing and its not respectful & professional

It was okay... We can only speak for our pasta dishes, and I could have made them just as well at home. The carbonara, which you can order without cream, was particularly disappointing. For that price, you'd expect authentic guanciale and not just plain bacon. The location itself is very nice. Perhaps other dishes are better.

Nice spot in the sun right next to the Frauenkirche. The waiter was a bit stressed. Only because our seat was reserved. We then ordered an Aperol. As a stress relief exercise! 😅

This was our second time eating there. Once again, we enjoyed excellent food with a fantastic view. The service was good, despite the restaurant being full and the stress on the staff. The prices are on the higher end, but the rent in the area is probably quite high...so 👍🏻

The pasta was delicious. The ambiance, given its proximity to the Frauenkirche, couldn't be beat. Unfortunately, the service wasn't particularly friendly. Hence only three out of five stars.

Just had a drink here, and the staff served us well. The atmosphere on the terrace was also great. It would be good, though, not to discriminate between guests who spend more and those who spend less. This is clearly noticeable, too, with women receiving more attention and the conversation between the staff at the table. It's a shame, though, that you can't pay with a debit card for orders under 20 euros. It's no longer appropriate to differentiate between them these days.

We're thrilled again! Delicious food and VERY friendly staff! We had pizza, pasta, risotto, and various desserts. They even lovingly prepared something delicious for our dog. We all enjoyed it, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere is very pleasant!

The ambiance is impressive, which is logical given the Frauenkirche. Service was very friendly from my perspective, but I didn't expect a permanent grin. So, I was completely satisfied. The food is a bit more difficult. The tomato soup apparently had cream (at an Italian restaurant?), and with pizza, I expect a nice crust and not something hard that's been in the oven too long. Due to the overcooked crust, the pizza tasted like it came from a frozen food store. At least the wine packs a punch.

A visit to the Ristorante Classico Italiano, located right next to the Frauenkirche, proved to be a culinary delight of the highest order. The food was of outstanding quality, exquisite in taste, and prepared with great care. The service was exceptionally attentive, professional, and discreet. The prices are on the high side, but seem entirely justified given the location, ambiance, and quality offered.

Very nicely located right next to the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady). The service was generally okay. The menu is typically Italian. The food was okay, but nothing particularly outstanding. The portions were generous. The price certainly reflects the location and is therefore okay. Personally, I don't like cutlery pouches and those small paper napkins; a cruet set and oil would have been nice if you're eating multiple courses. I was generally satisfied, but there's still room for improvement.

If I could give it 100 stars, I would do so without hesitation. From the moment we arrived, everything was simply perfect. The service was fast and super friendly. Stefano came over to welcome us, and we chatted with him for a while. That small gesture was so genuine and special that it made us feel right at home. It was a detail that really made the difference. We were greeted with freshly baked bread with butter and olives, which was delicious. We then ordered the Diavolo Pizza and the spaghetti with shrimp (without a doubt the best choice). The pizza was perfect: the dough, the sauce, the edges... everything was perfectly balanced. I would recommend it without a doubt. The pasta was also delicious, very well seasoned, and the shrimp were super juicy and flavorful. To top it off, we ordered an affogato and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Just like the rest of the meal: exquisite! The atmosphere is cozy and calm, perfect for sitting and chatting, enjoying the music, and just having a good time. Everything is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully designed. In short, it's a place I would return to a thousand times over. If you're looking for a special place to eat delicious food and feel well looked after, don't hesitate: this is the place. Highly recommended! 🥰

Oh my goodness, that's something special. The pizza was truly a delicious treat. We walked in like rabble, but were nevertheless treated like royalty. A truly beautiful view of the Frauenkirche. The only thing I could criticize is the price. Yes, it's a classy location, a classy restaurant, but that's not what you can do. You had to go through it like an amphibian... if you wanted to become a frog. Also very friendly staff (probably full-blooded Italians). I forgot to mention that there were almost 10 of us who spontaneously walked into the restaurant without a reservation. This is extremely commendable. I will recommend it highly.

Wir konnten spontan am Abend einen Tisch bekommen und haben das Ambiente und Essen, Sizialianische Arancini, Seeteufel auf Tagliatelle mit Kapernsauce und Trüffelpizza, sehr genossen. Die wundervolle Nachspeise, die Qualität des Essens und das aufmerksame Personal (Danke an Kathlen!) haben unsere Reise nach Dresden zu einem schönen Abschluss gebracht. Wir empfehlen das kleine Lokal in der ersten Etage sehr gern weiter.

The dishes were beautifully presented, the portions were generous, the salads were crisp, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. We would have liked to order something else, but the staff apparently didn't see us. It happens, no big deal. In my opinion, I highly recommend sitting outside on a beautiful summer evening. We'd be happy to come back.

The ice cream sundae were minimal but expensive, carelessly scooped into a kind of preserving jar. The stale egg cake (Sunday, probably from Friday) was over €5 each. Only the coffee was good. The service wasn't unfriendly, but not friendly either, and they were clearly reluctant to do their jobs. The ambiance doesn't save it either. Never again!

The atmosphere right in front of the Frauenkirche is very nice, but the cappuccino is a disgrace! The name "Classico Italiano" doesn't even come close to justifying the coffee!

Long wait for food, despite a manageable number of guests. The food tasted less than typical of the region and was rather bland (bland!). The waiters were very busy in the background and therefore disruptive. Nevertheless, the staff were friendly and attentive. Other dishes, except for pizza, cannot currently be rated.

Best Italian restaurant ever. Absolutely delicious. Top-notch staff. The chef was fantastic. When he found out it was my girlfriend's birthday, he sat down at the piano and sang her a song. You can't possibly give that many stars.

Disappointing food. Tasteless spaghetti bolognese, vegetarian pasta as well. Staff ok, the place looks a bit outdated, but ok.

The quality of the coffee was so poor that it resembled instant coffee served with just ice cubes. It had an unpleasant taste, almost like an ashtray, which was incredibly disappointing. To make matters worse, I ended up having a heated argument with the waiter, who was unwilling to accept my feedback.

I was out in Dresden with my toddler today. After running around a bit, my child needed to go to the bathroom. Since I didn't know if and where there was a restroom, I simply went into this restaurant and asked the friendly staff if my child could use it. Of course, we were allowed to. My child then thanked them and wanted to leave a coin. He got it back, however, and the nice gentleman told him he should buy an ice cream instead. Another employee pulled out a white cloth and started "magic." And whoosh, a lollipop appeared from under the cloth. That was so sweet and kind... I was so happy, and my child was even more so, of course! :) Simply amazing, the service here is excellent. The ambiance also looked very appealing. I can't rate the food, of course, but we'll definitely make up for it with such nice and friendly staff! Thank you again.

Liegt sehr schön gelegen an der Frauenkirche. Das Essen kommt schnell und schmeckt hervorragend. Die Getränkekarte ist gut zusammengestellt und die Preise sind für diese Gegend normal. Das Personal ist freundlich und man hat als Gast das Gefühl, dass man zur Familie gehört. Abends tritt auch oft Giovanni, der singende Kellner, auf! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Sunny evening...sitting outside and eating. That was our idea. When we sat down at a table for four and told the service employee that two more guests were coming (they were already in sight) and we needed four menus please, He slammed the cards on the table and walked away. No welcome, not a word. We left this restaurant. It's a shame you can't welcome guests like that. Things were significantly different last outdoor season.

Very nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the prices do not match the quality of the food and the size. And unfortunately it's not worth paying so much more just for the ambience. However, the service is very nice. And also understood our criticism.

The restaurant was recommended to us by the receptionist at our hotel. Rightly so: Very tasty food, very nice and courteous staff. We ended up going there three times in three days. We were recognized and greeted very friendly. The burrata is highly recommended as a starter. We also really enjoyed the sea bream and the salmon fillet. The pizza is also great. The desserts are absolutely amazing: little works of art and incredibly tasty. In the evenings a pianist played and occasionally the boss sang along. We felt very comfortable, ate deliciously and had a wonderful time both outside on the Neumarkt and inside on the first floor. Thank you! If we travel to Dresden again, we will definitely come back.

Als Ehepaar ein Abendessen bestellt, nach 45 Minuten kam das erste Essen…. Soweit ganz gut…. Rumsteak mit Beilagen, was auch heiß und gut war…. Der Servicekraft fiel nicht auf, dass das zweite Essen nicht dabei war…. Nachdem mein Mann zur Hälfte aufgegessen hatte, haben wir nach dem 2. Essen, es war nur eine Lasagne, gefragt…. Nachdem mein Mann dann fertig war mit seinem Steak, kam die Servicekraft und teilte mit, dass die Lasagne in 5 Minuten kommt…. Wir haben abgeleht, bezahlt und sind gegangen… Zu erwähnen, dass alle Leute, die nach uns kamen, schon ihr Essen bekamen… Geht überhaupt nicht…. Essen an einem Tisch muss gleichzeitig serviert werden, Essen ist ein gemeinsames Erlebnis…. Bei einem Restaurant in dieser Preisklasse verlange ich einen besseren Service….

In the afternoon in the sun directly in front of the Frauenkirche. Unfortunately, the waiter was unfriendly and had little understanding for families with strollers. The aisles were also very narrow for a stroller. Card payment only possible from €20.

Früher Stammgast – heute bitter enttäuscht Ich war über Jahre hinweg regelmäßiger Gast im Classico – meist oben im Restaurant und im Sommer gerne auf dem Balkon. Ich bin bekannt dafür, ausgiebig zu speisen und das Essen, die Musik und das Ambiente zu genießen – wenn alles passt, und das war bisher fast immer der Fall. Wir haben das Lokal sehr geschätzt: gutes Essen, schöne Atmosphäre, gute Lage. Am vergangenen Samstagnachmittag wollten wir nach einem Stadtbummel auf der Terrasse „mal eben eine Pizza“ – und wurden leider bitter enttäuscht. Die Pizza Diavolo war grottenschlecht: fast nur Teig, die Salami und andere Zutaten musste man regelrecht suchen. Geschmacklich absolut enttäuschend und lieblos – und das zu einem Preis von 17,30 €, obwohl sie auf der Website mit 13,90 € gelistet ist. Die Pizza meiner Frau (Prosciutto e Funghi) war gerade noch in Ordnung – aber mehr auch nicht. Für 15,30 € erwartet man deutlich mehr Qualität. Ich hätte das Classico jederzeit empfohlen. Nach diesem Erlebnis leider nicht mehr uneingeschränkt. Besonders enttäuschend war der Eindruck, dass bei der Zubereitung der Speisen Unterschiede gemacht werden, je nachdem, ob Gäste erkannt werden oder nicht. Ich wünsche dem Gastronomen „Arturo“, dass er den Fokus wieder stärker auf die gleichbleibende Qualität für alle Gäste legt – ganz unabhängig davon, ob man Stammgast ist oder zum ersten Mal einkehrt.

The service was very friendly and quick. The food tasted great and we had a direct view of the Frauenkirche. We found the prices reasonable for the service offered. We felt we were in good hands.

I do not recommend this place, cheap ingredients , low quality food, pizza was terrible, pizza dough unacceptable,interior design very bad color led lights want to burn out your eyes with intensity, small lamp on a table was out of battery nobody cares to change it. If you like good quality food don’t go there it’s a tourist trap .

Excellent place. View from the table of the heart of the Old Town and the cathedral. Great Italian cuisine - we tried three pizzas in different styles and several typically Italian desserts. Coffee - AWESOME. In addition, friendly, professional service. For me, the place is perfect.
