La Campagnola in Dresden

This was my first visit since the new owners took over. I was very impressed with the interior; the restaurant looks very stylish. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my main course. I ordered the steak with mixed salad and bread. The price was around €25. It was noticeable that the menu didn't specify the weight of the steak. Since I eat steak several times a week, I assumed it would be the usual 200g. I expected the same high quality as at Luisenhof. The steak was unfortunately very small, I'd estimate around 100-130g at most, and the quality was far from good. It was very sinewy. Furthermore, I ordered it cooked to medium. It was extremely rare and barely seared. The salad, however, was very tasty and fresh. The pizzas my three companions ordered were delicious. ... The staff were sometimes a bit disorganized and came back several times to ask what we had ordered, and initially forgot the bread. I think that was a one-off negative experience. The rest of the food was very good. The prices were okay. They should perhaps work on maintaining consistent quality – I think these issues should be resolved soon, though. I would come back once the daily business is more established. Otherwise, I highly recommend the pizzas.

We had a reservation for October 31st. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. In our opinion, the organization was poor. We felt we had to wait forever before we were even allowed to order. The fact that parts of our order were missing at the end only added to the problem. While the food tasted okay, due to the poor service and the long wait times, we absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant based on our personal experience.

My impression was that the staff seemed very overwhelmed. I personally had to wait 20 minutes to order drinks. Unfortunately, part of our food order was also forgotten. Because of this experience, I didn't feel well taken care of and therefore cannot recommend it.

We had a wonderful evening. The food was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed a marvelous antipasti platter, followed by pasta served from a Parmesan wheel and a seafood pizza. We highly recommend all three dishes. We also give the service 5 out of 5 stars. Our waiter, Davide, was incredibly attentive, caring, and always up for a laugh. You could tell he truly enjoyed his job. We will definitely be back!

Even though we were probably quite loud for the other guests at our class reunion, there were no complaints. Even the last five people who stayed weren't asked to leave. A large family celebration with 21 people was professionally executed. We were pleasantly surprised that, despite the à la carte menu, almost everyone was able to eat at the same time. Our special request for a cake was also perfectly accommodated. A big thank you to the staff, including the office staff, for their preparations, as well as for our request for an overnight stay.

For my birthday, I was privileged to spend an evening at this restaurant with some dear friends. The team welcomed me warmly beforehand – the appetizers, menu, and wine selection were discussed together and carefully prepared. The result was a thoroughly successful evening: excellent cuisine with finely balanced dishes, outstanding wines, and service that was both attentive and unobtrusive. I would particularly like to highlight the stylish ambiance with a beautifully set table in the unique garden – an atmosphere that made the evening even more unforgettable. My thanks go to the entire team for this wonderful evening, which will remain with us forever. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We spontaneously got a table for two on Friday evening. This was our first time there since the new owner took over. It's been beautifully renovated, and everything feels even more cozy; the furniture and decor are very tasteful. The service was very friendly, courteous, attentive, and presentable, and even somewhat Italian, I would say. I had the salmon fillet, my husband had pasta with scampi. My meal could have used a bit more garlic and oil—it was tasty, but not very Italian. My husband's pasta was good. We'd be happy to come back—especially since it's our favorite Italian restaurant, where we also celebrated our wedding. Unfortunately, I have to deduct a star because they don't use a portafilter machine, but a fully automatic one. I find that a bit inappropriate for an Italian restaurant.

Being in the area on the Schwebebahn and Standeilbahn, we were looking for a nice place to have lunch. We weren't disappointed. The menu was inviting, simple, yet offering a wide selection. Our meals arrived at approximately the same time. The service was attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. It wasn't very busy that day. The dishes looked good, were nicely presented, and most importantly, were delicious. A nice place to dine in Dresden. There's a large garden with many tables. The place has a great atmosphere.

Unfortunately, I only visited the restaurant. The food was okay.

We went out for dinner, and it was absolutely wonderful. It was quick, delicious, everything fresh, and the service was great! The value for money is definitely excellent, and I highly recommend it! Definitely go!

Unfortunately, under the new management, the cuisine hasn't quite matched the standards it enjoyed under Calo. Much of it seems pseudo-Italian to me, meaning intentional but not really skillful. For example, the calamari we ordered today was over-fried and hard, dry, and incredibly crispy, like over-baked doughnuts! Or the spaghetti carbonara, which was actually quite okay, was decoratively sprinkled with sprouts. From an Italian perspective, it was a complete visual and flavorful shambles, which unfortunately demonstrates a lack of sensitivity. One hopes for the ability to learn! Pietro

Our hotel room is fantastic: Comfortable, high-quality bed, simple yet beautiful and pleasant furnishings, very good and friendly service, very clean, large balcony with a direct view of the Elbe River (about 100 meters away)....👍 And yet we would also like to point out a few critical points: Bathroom with bathtub, unfortunately without a curtain/shower screen, so showering was only possible while sitting down to avoid flooding the entire bathroom... We had wonderfully sunny and hot summer days with temperatures over 30°C (86°F); despite darkening and closing all windows early, as well as turning on the fan and the available portable air conditioning, the temperatures were sometimes higher than outside, and the nights in the apartment were correspondingly overheated 😕.... Parking is not available on site, so you may have to carry your luggage several meters yourself. The balcony floorboards were partially uneven, and some screws were sticking out, posing a risk of injury when walking barefoot... Despite this, we enjoyed the days and had a wonderful stay—albeit with some hot, restless nights.

The food was delicious! We had bruschetta for starters, and for main courses, we had pasta with arugula pesto and burrata, and pasta from a Parmesan cheese loaf with truffles. The beer garden is very nice and a great place to sit and enjoy the sunshine. I also highly recommend the homemade elderflower lemonade (if you like something sweet). All in all, we were very satisfied!

We're only reviewing the restaurant! Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The bruschetta came before the drinks. Afterwards, we had to wait about 50 minutes for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't even half full. While we waited, we could see the chef smoking just behind the door, clearly visible to all the guests. There was no bread. The spaghetti Bolognese was good, but the portion was rather small. The pizza was okay, a bit dry and lacking in flavor. The olive oil (Spanish olive oil at the Italian restaurant?) was unfortunately tasteless. Our second visit, now with a new owner, we won't be back.

Disappointing – Unfortunately, Not a Good Experience We specifically wanted to visit a local restaurant and therefore chose the "new" La Campagnola in Dresden. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. Although the restaurant was only half full and two chefs and a waiter were relaxing at the side entrance, we were turned away – with the explanation that they were no longer accepting orders and that they had to reserve seats inside in case guests returned from the garden. And this was already around 7:30 p.m. – a time when, as a guest, you would normally expect to be served. Unfortunately, it seemed as if they were simply no longer in the mood. A real shame, because as guests from the region, we would have loved to come back. But this is driving away the very people who would actually support the place in the long term.

I actually have to give two reviews. The restaurant was excellent, great food, service, ambiance—everything was perfect. Great winter garden, fantastic beer garden, 100% recommended. The hotel is a different story. Very quaint and cozy with a great view. Very noisy. There were no parking spaces, not even for loading and unloading, so we had to cross the Blaues Wunder (Blue Wonder) again and park the car on the other side of the Elbe. There was nowhere to park our bikes at the guesthouse. We then temporarily put them in the stairwell after the restaurant closed. It wasn't possible to watch TV in the room. The staff couldn't help either. On Saturday morning, there was a very good breakfast; everything was prepared. On Sunday morning, the waiter looked very surprised. It took 20 minutes until we finally had a table set, but with a very sparse selection, it looked like leftovers. Pretzel rolls for breakfast on Sunday were also an experience. However, this was changed upon request. So, there's still a lot to improve at the hotel. The room was also very dark due to no overhead lighting. But there's a great terrace with a view.

Unfortunately, the hotel and restaurant have lost their Italian charm after the renovation. The breakfast too. The hotel is advertised everywhere for another establishment or restaurant! The food and wine are very good 👍 and the price is appropriately good. However: This is the only Italian restaurant I know where the coffee - espresso - recently comes from a machine!! 😤 What's up with that? The good portafilter machine is gone! The pizza is world-class, but the coffee is made without love! That's not right at all!!! There's no excuse for that!

We're rating the restaurant, so the room category is representative of the food! Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed with the food. Both main courses were served with a bit too much oil, which overpowered the flavor of the other ingredients. The ambiance is really nice, and the service is fast and friendly. One minor drawback for us is that the menu on the service website doesn't match the one in the restaurant!

“Buffalo mozzarella pizza”: A picture says more than a thousand words. Very disappointing! We've been there often in the past, but after yesterday's experience, we'll never go back.

We had a 60th birthday party with friends. Everything was perfect, from the extremely friendly and accommodating arrangements to the beautiful ambiance. A fantastic meal, highly recommended. Pasta in a Parmesan loaf flambéed with truffles was a superb dining experience. Keep it up! THANK YOU FOR THAT!

The food was delicious. What we missed was a little dip for the rosemary potatoes in the Italian burger. Unfortunately, the wait time was far too long. A server could have asked more often if we'd like something to drink.

There's a lot of room for improvement; the distance to Italian cuisine from here is Naples. It's a shame ☹️ this isn't the La Campagnola we've known for years.

The restaurant is located in an old house and is very cozy. The staff is friendly and attentive. I drank wine from glasses labeled "Compagnola" – I particularly liked that. The pasta with salmon was delicious, and the portion was generous. I also like the garden with its outdoor tables. I imagine it would be very nice there in the summer. Overall, the restaurant has a pleasant mix of old and modern. The Elbe River is just a few steps away. There is parking nearby.

Very very nice place. It was really crowded today, so we had to wait a bit. But that's no problem at all in this beautiful restaurant. The staff was also super friendly and super fast. We'll definitely be back.

Wir kennen das Campagnola vor der Renovierung im Dezember 2024. Im wesentlich sind die grossen runden Tische verschwunden, es ist deutlich teurer geworden und das Angebot an Pizzen ist geschrumpft. Ja und so gut geschmeckt wie früher hat es auch nicht mehr. Auf der Rucola Pizza hatte der Koch in Öl triefende getrocknete Tomatrn verteilt. Fazit. Hohe Preise bei schlechterer Qualität. Ein Phänomen was sich im letzten halben Jahr in vielen Restaurants in Dresden zeigt.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, angenehme Musik, nette Bedienung. Das Essen hat sehr viel Luft nach oben. Sehr schade, weil das andere passt. Preis Leistung stimmt hier auf keinen Fall. Ich bezahle gerne etwas mehr, wenn es dann auch schmeckt, hier fehlte einfach der Geschmack und vieles mehr.

Dresden is a great place to visit and this hood is very typical. Charming location, clean room with a nice view on Elbe; however in my view the family room is quite pricy itself. We paid 250€ for one big room and our kids (small) were sleeping on a sofa bed. Additionally drinks (hot choco, cappuccino, water) were not incl. in the breakfast.

Stopped in spontaneously and got a table right by the window. Stylish ambience and nice and friendly staff! There are no parking spaces available. Prices are more in the middle range. The lassagna was very, very tasty. Pizza was also good but not as great as the lassagne. 😉 (Which is of course a matter of taste!) After the delicious panna cotta, finally take a walk along the Elbe, just 10 meters away. It's great to have the opportunity to marvel at a furnished room, it's really chic!!

Dear Ms. Rühle, Since you unfortunately don't reply to my email, I'm sharing my disappointment and astonishment with you here. We have for April 22nd. Reserved a table for 8 people and received the reservation from you in writing. A few days ago we received a completely surprising call from one of her employees saying that our reservation was being canceled because that day was a day off. Mistakes can happen, although it's hard to understand how you can confirm a reservation and not realize you're not open at all that day. Unfortunately, you failed to deal with your mistake professionally. No excuses for the inconvenience this causes us. No response to my email. Unfortunately, this is completely incomprehensible and completely unacceptable.

I actually don't believe in immediate bad reviews, which often only serve to relieve frustration. But it is definitely negatively noticeable when you are no longer served a beer 45 minutes before closing time. That's not bad service. That's not a service at all. That's why there's really only this one star today. I couldn't rate more yet.

Were there again today after the reopening. Are positively impressed. The guest rooms seem much more inviting, bright and friendly, the staff are very friendly and the food is very good. Smaller portions for “seniors” are also offered. All in all a successful new start. Keep it up.

Hotel in a house from 1826. Restaurant with Italian cuisine. Near Elba

This is our second time here. We were so impressed with our first visit. Check-in was seamless, even after 7 p.m. The room was clean. We booked the economy rate. 2 nights with breakfast during the Christmas season for €270. Breakfast is served on a plate, meaning you get a little bit of everything. But they cater to individual requests. I had special requests, and they were accommodated without any extra charge. By the way, parking is free. We are very satisfied. There's always something to complain about, but not from us.

After the Christmas market in Loschwitz, we spontaneously went to the Italian restaurant around the corner for a good meal. Or so we thought. The starter was still good and so was the pizza, the pasta was oversalted and overcooked. The service left a lot to be desired, the restaurant was almost empty, the dishes on the menu and the wine had already been crossed out. Even though there was a sign outside the door advertising truffle pasta, only to find out in the restaurant that it was also out. When we wanted to pay, the waiter had already been talking to guests at another table for 10 minutes. When I told his colleague that we wanted to pay, we didn't get a bill for another few minutes. Unfortunately, I have to conclude that it is absolutely not recommended.

That was the worst! We had reserved a room for two nights months ago and received written confirmation, as well as a reservation for two evenings at the restaurant. When we arrived after a seven-hour drive, the manager told us she didn't have any rooms left! She had booked it by mistake! No apology or anything to that effect. We were put up at a hotel 10 minutes away and had to pay for breakfast ourselves, as well as the taxi from the hotel to the restaurant in the evening. No real insight into the mistake we made! So be very careful when booking rooms!!!!! That was truly the worst! Our weekend was ruined! The guesthouse and the restaurant should be enjoyed with caution, which is also evident from the many 1-star reviews. What a shame!

Long waiting times, unfriendly staff and the food wasn't worth the price. The ginger ale and the juice spritzer were no longer carbonated, the pizza wasn't cooked through in the middle and the pasta just didn't taste like anything. The only nice thing is the outside area of ​​the restaurant.

The price-performance ratio was unbeatable, the food quality was great. The edition of an Italian kitchen was more than successful at the time and you felt like you were in Bella Italia. The food was prepared with top quality and with passion for Italian cuisine. In addition, there were always varied recommendation cards, changing monthly, directly from the manager. But since the change in management, the quality of the food has dropped so much, the price-performance ratio is bottom drawer, the food is not at all lovingly prepared and the preparation is NOT ANYWHERE worthy of Bella Italia. As already said in the previous reviews, they try to cover up the poor quality with huge portions and in terms of taste you can tell that the cheapest ingredients are used (meat, cheese, pizza, oil). It's also a shame that common Italian dishes have been removed from the menu, such as creme brulee, for example, which should actually be normal. All in all, you can say that it's a shame about this location because it has a beautiful location (Elbe), beautiful garden, outdoor area. An attempt is made to align everything with mass. It's about quantity instead of quality. Super disappointing because it was once one of the greatest Italian restaurants in Dresden. It's a disgrace to reduce everything to the lowest level and raise prices.

Ein schöner Sommerabend im Garten in Familie beim Italiener. War es das? Fast.. Um es vorweg zu nehmen, es fehlen Angestellte! Die drei Kellner für ca 100 Personen sind einfach zu wenig. Sie haben aber wirklich alles gegeben, obwohl die Wartezeiten zum Teil sehr lang waren. Woran es auch immer gelegen hat. Essen war gut und viel, hätte aber mehr gewürzt sein können. (Nudeln mit Lachs 17,90 Euro) Bruschetta für 8,50 Euro (zwei kleine Scheiben Brot mit Belag) finde ich preislich völlig überzogen. Der Bierpreis für 0,5 l Feldschlösschen mit 6,50 Euro ist für Dresden Rekordverdächtig.

Hier im Garten sitzt es sich wirklich sehr angenehm. Das Blaue Wunder ist auch nicht weit entfernt, das lässt sich also gut verbinden. Der Service war auch sehr aufmerksam und die leckeren Pizza- und Pasta-Gerichte wussten auch sehr zu gefallen. Preislich ist es gehoben hier, aber es lohnt sich, wir kommen gern einmal wieder.

This is a hard one because the place is very charming, but we were just doing one night and arrived in the late hours. My room was stifling hot and I had one tiny window that I had to leave open overnight. The room was clean and charming. Sitting bathtub only. In the morning I was pleasantly surprised with the dining space and we were served a wonderful breakfast. It is a very quiet space and location steps from the Elbe River bike path.

Went by here for the second time today on a bike tour and had a great dinner. Service was very polite and unobtrusive. Yes, it's not cheap here, but it's also not overpriced for the quality of the food.

Extremely overpriced and a dubious interpretation of “Italian cuisine”. A really great location and a magical garden. The pizza was made by Dr. Oetker standard (biscuit base, solid tomato sauce, cheap toppings) and the spaghetti was at school kitchen level. For this you charge just under €20 each. The "Parmesan" was a mix of mozzarella and hard cheese, the olive oil had strong notes of rapeseed and sunflower. Oversized portions are probably intended to hide the poor quality. Several fake-friendly waitresses accompanied the evening, recorded the drinks and thus included their tips. The espresso we ordered at the end has not yet found its way to the table, which is probably for the better in the end.

The service was very friendly. In the garden you can sit together in a very rustic and great atmosphere. Penne with shrimp was a bit poorly seasoned and not quite as tasty. The shrimp, however, were very good. All in all we were satisfied.

So schnell kann es gehen. Noch im März war ich mit Freunden hier und begeistert von der guten Küche. Dies habe ich zum Anlass genommen, am 8. Mai einen Tisch für ein geschäftliches Abendessen zu reservieren. Ich habe online reserviert und eine Bestätigung bekommen. Als ich dann mit meinem Gast 19 Uhr vor der Tür stand, war das Restaurant geschlossen. Meine Enttäuschung war noch größer, als eine Familie kam, die telefonisch reserviert hatten und ebenfalls eine Bestätigung bekommen hatten. Als wir jemanden vom Restaurant zu sprechen bekamen, wurde uns nur lapidar erklärt, dass heute halt geschlossen sei und dem halt so ist. Keine Erklärung, warum überraschend gräeschlossen wurde und nicht einmal, warum den Gästen nicht wenigstens abgesagt wurde. Das ist wirklich kein guter Stil. Ich nehme meine 5-Punkte-Bewertung vom März 2024 zurück (sofern ich es löschen kann) und werde in keinem Fall wiederkommen. Jedem, der hier reserviert, sei zumindest noch ein "Plan B" für den Abend empfohlen.

"La Campagnola's Stacciatella ice cream is a real treat for the senses! The creamy vanilla base is perfectly infused with delicious chocolate pieces, which provide a pleasant crunch with every bite. The consistency is wonderfully velvety and literally melts in the mouth. It's definitely a must for all ice cream lovers! 5 stars from me.

Freunde haben uns ins La Campagnola gelotst. Nachdem ich die sehr heterogenen Bewertungen gelesen hatte, war ich sehr gespannt. Unsere Erfahrung war durchweg positiv. Ostersamstag - volles Restaurant, das Personal war aufmerksam und fragte regelmäßig dezent nach, ob noch Wünsche vorhanden sind. Der Service war flink, die Wartezeit zu Vorspeise und Hauptgang jeweils sehr flott. Die Bruschetta waren zwar nicht spektakulär aber sehr ordentlich. Als Hauptgang hatte ich ein echt tolles Bärlauch-Risotto mit Spargel. Meine Freunde hatten Spaghetti aglio olio oder Entrecôte mit Spargel. Beides wurde als sehr gut kommentiert. Das Pannacotta zum Desert war sehr schön präsentiert und lecker. Mit Espresso und einem wunderbaren Grappa haben wir den Abend beendet. Zu viert mit Aperitif, Vorspeise, Hauptgang, Dessert, Espresso, Grappa, Wein und Wasser bei €235,-, d.h. €60 p.P. in einem solchen Ambiente und dieser Qualität finde ich ein recht gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wir waren alle sehr zufrieden und werden sehr gern wiederkommen.

Terrible waiting time for food!!

Nice and quiet Italian restaurant with cozy rooms. Breakfast and food in the restaurant were delicious and plentiful.

Leider hat das Restaurant extrem nachgelassen. Wir sind früher sehr oft hier gewesen. Jetzt mehrere Jahre nicht. Wir waren heute mit Freunden hier. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Leider wurden die Vorspeisen vergessen. Das Essen dauerte bis zur Servierung ca. 2 Stunden. Ich hatte Bruscetta und einen Salat mit Ziegenkäse. Das Bruscetta war eine Scheibe Toast und gewürfelte Tomaten. Fast nicht gewürzt. Der Salat war ohne Dressing und es lagen nur 2 kleine Ziegenkäsescheiben auf dem Teller. Es schmeckte nach nix. Wir haben die Kellnerin darauf aufmerksam gemacht. Sie wollte sofort den Salat tauschen oder ein Dressing bringen. Den anderen 3 Gästen haben die Speisen geschmeckt. Insgesamt haben wir über 100 Euro bezahlt, was wir leider viel zu überteuert finden. Die Rechnung am Ende hat auch nicht gestimmt. Es ist alles teuerer geworden, aber das war nicht gerechtfertigt. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen.

So etwas hab ich lange nicht erlebt. Der letzte Besuch ist länger her, war doch die lebende Raupe an der Minze im Getränk damals fehl am Platz. Ein neuer Versuch, macht’s nicht besser. Wir waren 3 Leute und hatten jeweils 3 Gerichte. Keine Speise war mediterran, nicht mal angehaucht. Das Capaccio wurde tatsächlich in Ermangelung von Rucola auf Eisbergsalat serviert. Die Preise sind jenseits von Gut und Böse bei der gebotenen Qualität.

Pizza a little better than delivery services, salad boring, everything else just average, you can research prices beforehand, there is no reason to come back.

So this was love at first sight! A beautiful guesthouse with very kind and caring staff. We had dinner here straight away and after this very tasty meal slept wonderfully in the attic, cozy and clean room. Ideal for those who love old and sensitively renovated houses. This whole area will satisfy souls who revel in architecture as well as places with a pleasant energy. We are very happy to have discovered a hotel with a "home sweet home" atmosphere and we will definitely come back here in the future!

Extreme case: January 25, 2024, 7:50 p.m. Visit to the restaurant. A very special day for us personally. The waitress gave us a table in the vault. A short time later the order was taken. Tagliatelle al Salmone or Tagliatelle allo Chef. 15 minutes of waiting for the drinks was already the upper limit. But we waited 50 minutes for the food. When we asked in the meantime, the waitress assured us that it was in progress, but that it would take time because the neighboring table still had to be served. OK. After 50 minutes, we were served spaghetti without saying a word and not responding. But tagliatelle was ordered. When we asked, the waitress told us that tagliatelle took too long, so we were served "Pelmeni spaghetti". (The neighboring table had probably exhausted its supply of ready-made tagliatelle) We definitely know what pelmeni and spaghetti are. We were really looking forward to tagliatelle, not spaghetti, to a long wait and crazy name creations to appease us. We just wanted to celebrate meeting each other at the same restaurant where we first met seven years ago. But seven years doesn't work for everyone...

Although Google said it was open, this restaurant was closed at prime lunch time. Luckily there was a Thuringian bratwurst on the grill at a weekly market about 200m away. It's just a shame about the €5 parking fee.

Nothing doesn't taste like last year 🤮

We visited the restaurant. It is a beautifully located restaurant with an upscale atmosphere. The menu is manageable, but offers enough choice. The service staff was pleasantly reserved and very friendly. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the taste or quality of my pizza. Basically, I found the prices charged to be excessive despite the appealing restaurant. Card payment including tips is possible contactless at the table. Afterwards I noticed that the bill contained an incorrect (more expensive) drink item. That's not a big deal, but it's still annoying and somewhat diminished my overall impression.

Nach anfänglichen Sprachschwierigkeiten und vertauschten Zimmer, sowie Reservierungen zum Essen ist es jetzt Urlaub.

Spannende Pension, direkt an der Elbe. Sehr guter Service mit hervorragender gastronomischer Betreuung. Hier geht man gerne speisen.

Nudelspeisen gehabt ... danach ca 30 min später magen-darm Beschwerden aufgetreten.

Wunderbares Restaurant mit schönem Ambiente.
