Restaurant "Zwölfender" in Wernigerode

We had the pleasure of dining at the Zwölfender restaurant on two evenings, and both visits were simply unforgettable! The food was an absolute highlight: each dish was prepared with great care and attention to detail, the ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality. We were particularly impressed by the creative flavor combinations and the appealing presentation of the dishes – a feast for the palate and the eyes! The service was not just friendly, but downright warm and attentive. The staff always took the time to explain the dishes to us and make recommendations that perfectly suited our preferences. Even when the restaurant was full, we always felt well looked after and welcome. The atmosphere at the Zwölfender is inviting and warm, with a successful blend of modern flair and cozy comfort. Whether it's a romantic dinner or an evening with friends – you simply feel at home here. The wine selection was also excellent and perfectly rounded off our culinary experience. We can wholeheartedly recommend the Zwölfender restaurant and are already looking forward to our next visit! A true gem!

The food was very tasty, and the service was friendly and quick. However, the portions of the grilled meats and the venison goulash were quite small; even a moderately good eater wouldn't have a chance of getting completely full, which rather tarnished the otherwise excellent overall impression.

After a four-hour hike, we were looking for a good restaurant. We were lucky and managed to snag a table. Dogs of any size are allowed. A definite plus!!! We were extremely satisfied with everything: the service and the food were truly amazing. My husband had venison and was absolutely thrilled! The ambiance was simply fantastic! We'd love to come back on our next vacation 😊

Highly recommended, home-style restaurant. Classic cuisine with good taste and excellent value for money. The portions are very generous, and the service is exceptionally friendly. If you like home-style food, this is the place for you. Solid, four, almost five stars.

We were absolutely thrilled with the food, and the service was fantastic! I haven't had such a delicious meal in a long time; we both had venison dishes. Helene's Birne is also highly recommended. ^^ If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely have to go back :D and we really recommend it to everyone :D

A very pleasant location and delicious food. The menu is small, but the food is all the better for it. It's not just the standard fare, but also special dishes. The chocolate cake Helene is the best dessert I've had in a long time.

Apparently, you're not supposed to eat here if you're not staying at the hotel. We weren't aware of this. The reaction wasn't exactly friendly when we were seated at the "wrong" table. Honestly, I'd rather have left, but we ended up sitting at a different table. But the atmosphere was ruined. The food was otherwise fine.

Food used to be better....we are really spoiled, it was delicious but bring back the other chef.....there has never been so much blood on my plate...I was used to better...a shame

Highly recommended if you're in Schierke 🤗 I had a delicious "Brockenblick Schnitzel" and the spiced meat to start with. You absolutely have to try the "Helene's Pear" liqueur 👍🏼 I liked it so much that I immediately bought a bottle.

We're vacationing at the Brockenblick hotel complex and have now eaten twice at the Zwölfender restaurant. The staff is super friendly and always smiling (including the breakfast staff). The food was excellent. There weren't any long waits. The menu, in my opinion, has something for every taste. Prices are fair. We'll definitely be back for dinner. Keep up the good work! 😀

Very friendly service and delicious food! We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening – the staff were attentive and welcoming, and the food was truly delicious and lovingly prepared. Overall, a very pleasant atmosphere. A small note: The decor was a bit too lavish for our taste, especially on the tables, walls, and ceiling. But that's a matter of taste, of course, and doesn't detract from the positive overall impression. We'd love to come back!

Just like the hotel itself, it's an absolute dream. Dogs are allowed, the food is incredibly delicious, and the ambiance is simply gorgeous. The icing on the cake is the incredibly friendly staff :D

The food was really solid, and the service outside was fast, although a little odd in some cases (you only order drinks first, and once they arrive, you can order food). The trainees were super fast and friendly, though! Hungry children also got their portions quicker—sometimes that can save a meal out...

Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The service was so-so, and the location didn't offer a particularly great view. Drinks were okay, but the food was unfortunately nothing. The venison savoy cabbage roll was not good at all, along with potatoes and a small red cabbage salad. Venison goulash was also very mediocre and quite expensive. The rösti, however, was amazing!

Fantastic! Excellent :-) we had reserved a table for our hiking group and also pre-ordered it. Specially for us, it was opened just for us, different from the opening times. The communication was first class. The service was great. Very very friendly. The food was also very, very tasty. Price performance top. All 14 people really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, 3 other hikers in our group had to cancel at short notice, but that wasn't a problem either. Thanks so much. Very very attentive and courteous service. We ate very well here and felt completely comfortable.

At first a little skeptical, then enthusiastic. An entrance via a hospital-like hallway leads to a door. Behind this the world changes. A cozy restaurant decorated in dark wood with the look of a real tavern. Beautifully decorated and rustically trimmed. Nice seating areas/areas. A very good menu with prices that don't seem quite "cheap" at first, but are more than fair after the meal. Really great prepared and served. All employees are very friendly. The drinks menu is also great and the prices here are really super fair. The waiting time for serving is not too long. The chairs might be too hard for some people. But there is also the option of looking for another place. For price orientation: A pork steak with seasoned meat and cheese gratinated + croquettes, with a wheat beer, a large portion of cheese spaetzle with 0.3 non-alcoholic drink and then two variants of stomach-friendly alcoholic beverages cost just over 50 euros. I think it's really cheap and the food was great, as were the staff.

We came here spontaneously today after a day trip on vacation. The ambience is harmonious, pleasant and makes you feel good. The food was great in terms of taste and appearance, the service there was very pleasant, the staff open, funny and extremely friendly. We left completely happy and satisfied. We are pleased that we were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation, which was promptly set. If we end up in the Harz Mountains again on holiday, we will definitely visit again. ❤️ Keep it up! 😁

We found this restaurant via Google. You can find it in the basement of the complex. At first glance you don't notice it from the road. The restaurant looks attractive. Mulled wine tasted good to us. We both ordered a game dish and unfortunately we were disappointed. The meat was dry and had little flavor. The croquette balls had no taste of their own. The fried potatoes were tasty. We were disappointed, especially in combination with the price. An employee asked if it tasted good and my partner responded with a shake of the head. There was no further response or question from the employee. Unfortunately!

We went to the restaurant today and were very satisfied. We had ordered for 5 p.m. and were able to be seated earlier. For us, it was the best restaurant in Schierke. We went to the Italian restaurant, which was also good, but we were disappointed with Luis. It was simply overpriced.

A very cozy and tastefully decorated restaurant, which is hardly noticeable from the outside. It has a very homey feel. The menu offers a nice variety. We had the venison roulade. It was absolutely delicious. Conclusion: highly recommended

Had dinner there spontaneously yesterday - without a reservation. Very friendly and warm service, rustic but attractive atmosphere. A fine little menu that makes it difficult to choose just by reading it. We chose spiced meat, a large colorful salad and the "Wilder Brockenblock grill plate" to share - rounded off with a warm chocolate cake and the house pear liqueur. It was great and very very tasty from start to finish. Thanks to the whole team. 👍

Very tasty food. We stayed at the Brockenblick and had a meal included. We then went there again at our own expense and had another delicious meal. The beef roulade, the schnitzel and the salmon were very tasty. The kitchen is quick and the staff is friendly.

We were here on November 13th for my birthday. I really liked the whole atmosphere, especially how beautifully the table (see photo) was decorated for my birthday. For dinner we had soup, and for the main course we had the Brockenblick schnitzel and the schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzels were absolutely amazing, super tender and the breading was very crispy. For dessert there was the chocolate cake. The whole meal was perfectly coordinated and everything was very harmonious with the cozy atmosphere and the great service. We can only recommend this restaurant 🫶🏼 Many thanks to the team

We were guests at the holiday park for a week and had half board. Everything was right here. Great staff and great food. Breakfast is completely sufficient, something for everyone. There's still real juice here and not concentrate. The map is also completely sufficient, not too big, not too small. The food always tasted good. Extra requests were easily addressed. Service absolute 1.

Went there twice in the evening and three times for breakfast over the long weekend. We were super satisfied. Very nice service and everything we were allowed to eat was very tasty. Would like to come back, but not stay in the holiday apartments.

Just don't. Reserved weeks in advance. My husband's birthday. Were a little early and had to wait, despite there being free tables, perhaps because of our small dog. We were given a bad, tiny table and, because of the cramped conditions, I had a guest's backside in front of me at times. We were promised a good table and had the feeling of sitting in a chip shop. Terrible. That's probably why the store is barely mentioned. Never again. In really good and significantly more expensive restaurants, we always got a good table, even with a dog 🐕

The “Zwölfender” is a great opportunity to have a good meal and get to know a very nice team. The food, as the name suggests, is regional and includes game in various variations. But there are also delicious salads and seasonal menus. In my case it was autumn theme and so I can only recommend the pumpkin soup in combination with the accompanying game dish. The service is also excellent. Very friendly but not intrusive. Always good advice if you need tips for excursions or hikes. So overall I can highly recommend it and once you've taken a look here, you'll know why. We'll definitely be back.

I spent a long weekend here for my birthday. It was a damn good stay, to the complete satisfaction of my guests. I will decide to stay here again at any time. We were on vacation for 7 days/September in the adjacent hotel. We visited this restaurant every day in the form of half board. Absolutely top class..Food was delicious..Big thanks to the kitchen!!! Service is exactly the same... it's absolutely perfect... you notice the hospitality every day... even when you're stressed... we were served in the evening by the waiter Luca's... he gave us the evenings with his attention... friendliness... humor. .refined!!!! The entire atmosphere among the colleagues is great...that's noticeable every day...keep it up...!!!

Very tasty game, super fried (pink), the chef came and asked how the wild boar was as it had just come in fresh today and from start to finish there was a lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. A good decision to come here. An all-round great experience at fair prices.

We visited the restaurant as a couple with our dog, without prior reservation. We received a friendly welcome and the service staff, especially the waiter, were very attentive and courteous. The drinks were served quickly and the food was excellent. The home-made food was flawless and prepared to perfection. In summary, this restaurant can be recommended without reservation.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is really very cozy and invites you to linger. The food is consistently delicious and highly recommended. The employees are also very friendly. Keep it up!

It was okay. It was the epitome of “okay.” Solid, just right after a hard day, friendly, prompt service, food good but not outstanding. You can do it, but there are better offers in the region.

At first we were skeptical because it sounded like “the dining room of a holiday resort”. We were pleasantly surprised. Very quaint and cozy and a very pleasant atmosphere even when it's busy. Service is well trained and super friendly and quick. The quality and quantity of the food matched the price - it was really tasty and filling. Definitely worth it!

The food is simply amazing, the Brockenblick schnitzel is a generous portion, but I have never had such a good schnitzel before. The Wilde Brockenblick grill plate is extremely tasty. Pasta with tomato sauce as well. The solyanka also tastes absolutely delicious. The service we had on both days was super nice and cool (kind regards;)). Stay as you are! We are happy to recommend you and will definitely come by again.

Super nicely located restaurant. The service was top. Unfortunately it was just a little difficult to find as it is on the lower floor of a holiday complex. Price/performance was reasonable and the quality of the food was A1. ... But with the cheese spaetzle there can be a few grams more on the plate :)
