The food was very good and plentiful. The service was very pleasant and friendly. Many dishes are also available for takeaway. Please note that the restaurant is closed several days a week. Those staying overnight at the "Zum Wildbach" holiday complex receive a discount and can also have food delivered to their holiday apartment.

We spontaneously went there early yesterday evening and luckily got a table. The service was so friendly. We haven't had that in ages. Our almost 3-year-old daughter was also served very friendly and even asked what she wanted. A thousand thumbs up. Even when she accidentally knocked over her drink, she didn't scold her, but rather mopped it up and gave her a new one. 5 stars are far from enough. It was perfect. The food was also incredibly delicious. We'll definitely be back.

A beautiful, classic inn in Schierke. The food was really good; the "Hunter's Plate" made with locally sourced red venison was outstanding. My girlfriend also loved her chicken strips and the chocolate cake that followed. The prices are really fair. The service was truly excellent, very personal, friendly, and, above all, dog-friendly, which should be mentioned again, as it's certainly not a given that you'll be treated so warmly with a four-legged friend. I can highly recommend the Gasthaus zur Klippe; we haven't had a single negative experience.

Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer open daily. Be sure to reserve a table in advance. The terrace offers a beautiful view over the valley, and you can see the Brockenbahn railway on the horizon. Delicious food, especially the game dishes are recommended! Due to the hillside location and the rather narrow road, finding parking can be a bit difficult. I have recommended the restaurant several times to friends and acquaintances over the past two years, and they have all been delighted with the food.

We were there for dinner and were very satisfied. The German food was delicious and the price-performance ratio was absolutely fine. It was busy, and even though there were only two waitresses on duty, they went to great lengths to accommodate all the guests. A little more staff would certainly have provided even more relief, but the two ladies were very friendly and committed.

Food was good, large portion. We had the game goulash and the cliff schnitzel. Personally, I found the goulash a bit tough, but it was still quite tasty.

The service is very nice and the food tastes excellent. My tip: definitely try the solyanka. We weren't disappointed when we visited again. The salad plate was really huge and very tasty... and the solyanka still is. We will be happy to come back.

If you are around Schierke, look up if the restaurant is open. High quality food, with ingredients out of the region. Enough possibilities, when you’re vegetarian as well. Besides that: the portions are pretty big, so bring hunger with you.

Excellent food and really great service.

We went there twice for dinner and found it to be the best restaurant in Schierke. The staff was always very friendly and humorous and the food was delicious. Only on the first visit (Saturday) was the waiting time for the food extremely long, over an hour. However, the food made up for it and we decided to visit this restaurant again. The second time we had our food very quickly and it tasted very good again! In any case, it is recommended to reserve a table in advance, as almost all tables were occupied on the second visit. Unfortunately the restaurant is only open 3 days a week: Monday, Tuesday and Saturday. We don't understand that because there has always been a lot of visitors. Another thing to note is that the restaurant is located on a mountain and there is no parking nearby! We got there on foot from Schierke.

We were there spontaneously this evening. So we didn't have a reservation. We were lucky and got a table. It's very nice to sit in and the service was super nice. We quickly had our drinks and our food. Was super tasty. My husband had cod for just under €19. Two very generous pieces and the plate was well full. We only paid €60 for two main courses, a dessert and four drinks. So absolutely great. 👍🏻

Nice restaurant and delicious food, have been here several times and have always been satisfied. However, the restaurant is no longer open almost every evening as it used to be, but only on Saturdays at weekends (as of 7/24). Unfortunately the service wasn't that good anymore; it was annoying, for example, that a table was reserved in advance and we showed up on time. Nevertheless, despite asking, it took 1.5 hours for our food to arrive, there was just a lot to do. In the meantime, many of the guests had already left and things were already clearing up while we were still eating. Simply uncomfortable. Prices were OK for the good quality of the food, but still - the old days were better and more personal. A pity.

We were there for dinner. It was ok. A nice selection of dishes, price/performance okay. However, we had to wait a long time for our food. Of course the restaurant was well attended, but we found 1.5 hours to be very long. The taste of the food was okay, unfortunately our fried potatoes were only fried quite dark. After the long wait, we no longer had any motivation to make a complaint. The service was friendly and the restaurant has a cozy, nice location.

Now some detailed feedback about this restaurant. My girlfriend and I, plus our four-legged friend, ate in this restaurant with a short-term reservation. The lady on the phone was very personable and said that paying by card and bringing a dog were no problem. When we arrived there, a beautiful inn awaited us and our dog was immediately greeted with a smile by the friendly waitress. On the menu you can expect a good selection of dishes of German origin. My friend ordered the goulash “the wild one” and I ordered the schnitzel, with Camembert and pear. We both enjoyed it extremely well. Our dog looked a bit hungry and felt sorry for the extremely animal-loving waitress. So dog treats came from her without further ado and the three of us were very well served. Afterwards we had a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. This was the perfect ending. Then it was time to pay. Here comes the only negative. Unfortunately, we could only thank you verbally for the great service, as tipping is unfortunately only possible in cash. The price of €56.80 for 2 people with drinks and dessert is extremely justified and the price-performance ratio is always right. We will definitely come back on our next visit to the Harz, hopefully with the same conditions. Kind regards Glomba

Very successful stay in the comfortable, very spacious apartment in the holiday resort "Zum Wildbach" with the restaurant "Zur Klippe" with everything we had imagined. There was a large terrace, but we didn't use it. It was quiet. The family business works well and is staffed by very nice people. We were self-catering, but we went to the "Klippe" once for breakfast and twice for dinner. Both highly recommended. Breakfast left nothing to be desired, as did dinner. We chose Schierke because it was close to the Brocken, as my partner wanted to ride his bike to the Brocken. There are numerous hiking trails. The place itself is tranquil and has a very beautiful natural spa park, the local bus connections work perfectly.

Das Gasthaus "zur Klippe" ist urig und gemütlich, liegt sehr idyllisch mit Innen- und Außenbereich. Man wird sehr schnell und vor allem freundlich bedient. Die Speisekarte ist sehr umfangreich. Besonders empfehlenswert sind einheimische Gerichte, die man in der Karte leicht am Namen erkennt. Die servierten Speisen sind frisch, sehr reichhaltig und äußerst schmackhaft. Man sieht die liebevolle Zubereitung in eigener Küche. Wer nicht so üppig leben möchte, für den gibt es auch kleinere Portionen. Selbst an Kinder ist gedacht. Wer in Schierke war, muss auch wenigstens einmal in der Klippe gewesen sein.

I used the "out of home" service with my family today and what can I say: I was thrilled! First: The portion sizes are decent and the prices are absolutely reasonable. Price/performance is top in my opinion! Secondly: The food tastes great too. I haven't eaten such delicious fried potatoes in a long time. Crispy, well seasoned, simply great. My wife had a salad that was really filling. Also there, large portion, great dressing and the chicken was well prepared. Lastly: super friendly service (Basti said on his t-shirt). I take my hat off to that industry. Please continue! Unreserved recommendation!

We were in Schierke 2 years ago and had the best memories of the Gasthaus Zur Klippe. We quickly reserved a table there again. A reservation is highly recommended as the inn is always very busy. My wife ordered a "small salad" as a starter, which was very fresh and the dressing was also wonderful. If you're just a little hungry, the salad will be a complete meal. The price-performance ratio for the size of the salad was really great. As a main course she also ordered a vegetarian dish with tofu, spaetzle and a mushroom sauce. I didn't miss the opportunity to taste it either. I haven't tasted or eaten something so delicious in a long time. The portion size was really more than enough and we had to have the rest packed up. As a starter I had a very good Sojanka with bread. For the main course I had a steak with Harz cheese gratin and fried potatoes. The meat with the gratinated cheese was absolutely top notch. The fried potatoes were the best I've eaten in years. Super fried and seasoned. Absolute top. I also had a lot of trouble getting everything done. One piece of information ahead. There is a salad with every meal. If you choose a salad as a starter, you can look forward to 2 salads like my wife :) The staff were very friendly and accommodating, but not intrusive. You immediately felt comfortable and welcome. We can only warmly recommend the Gasthaus zur Klippe and will stop there every time we are in Schierke.

Apparently the kitchen crew changed recently because I can't understand these good reviews. We ate 3 pork medallions with mushrooms and cheese gratin and croquettes for €24.50 and it was underground. The sauce came out of the bag and the croquettes were the cheapest frozen product, almost white and tasteless. The service was great!!!!

Very friendly staff, the food came quickly and was delicious. We had the Brocken plate and it is definitely recommended. Juicy pork medallions, fresh mushrooms and delicious potato balls in a delicious sauce. Beforehand there was a fresh small salad. But you should reserve in advance, as it is very busy.

Went to the inn for dinner. Service: super nice and fast. Special requests were addressed and all implemented Food: absolute 10/10! So tasty and big portions too. I had to fight to make it but didn't want to leave any of the delicious food left Location: easy to find and comfortably furnished. But, and this is the only “criticism”: it was “foggy”. It was probably smoke from the kitchen but despite the ventilation it was “blue”. You could also see it in the light. We would go again!
