Restaurant Praha in Wernigerode

After a pleasant stroll through the city, we stumbled upon this restaurant. The menu was appealing, and the dishes on offer were authentic, featuring dishes served in the Czech Republic. There was a special from the kitchen, which was a starter in itself and very tasty. The dishes were freshly prepared, and the taste and quality were 5 stars. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. I would gladly return.

We were on vacation in Wernigerode and visited this cute restaurant. The atmosphere inside is very cozy, and fortunately, the tables aren't too close together, making it easy to chat. The "greeting from the kitchen" in the form of garlic bread was a very nice and delicious surprise. Unfortunately, the wait then began: We waited almost an hour for our schnitzel, which was unfortunately quite tough. The potato salad was also barely seasoned and rather tasteless – that was disappointing. We would, however, like to highlight the delicious garlic soup and the very friendly and attentive waitresses.

Very, very delicious food. Prices are higher but absolutely reasonable. So far, the best Bohemian cuisine outside of the Czech Republic that we've visited. We'd love to come back.

I can definitely recommend the roulades 🥰. The location is also beautiful. You can see 🏰 Wernigerode in the background. Definitely worth a visit. Afterward, you can go to a 😎 cocktail bar not far from there.🍹🍸

Very, very delicious Bohemian cuisine, highly recommended for any fan of Czech food. The ingredients are fresh from the Czech Republic, and you can tell. The staff is also very friendly, and the ambiance is pleasant and relaxed (even when there are lots of guests).

A truly lovely restaurant with excellent Czech cuisine, tastefully decorated with a lovely little terrace and very attentive service. A real insider tip in Wernigerode! We visited more than once during our vacation.

Delicious food, the best beer in the world (Pilsener Urquell), and friendly staff—what more could you want? We were there on a Sunday evening and got a good table right away without a reservation. The beef goulash with Bohemian dumplings was delicious. The dumplings, in particular, are something truly special. After the meal, we were treated to a very mild raspberry schnapps made on the house. There's seating on the ground floor and also on the first floor. I'll be back.

A recommendation against today's hype. Authentic Czech cuisine, plentiful and delicious. The service is super friendly and attentive. The menu is small but excellent. The garlic soup and the breaded cheese (a classic, after all) are highly recommended. The Szeged goulash was also very tasty. The cozy beer garden. We'll be back!!

We give it 5 out of 5☆. We saw the restaurant while walking and decided to eat there that evening. Not only is the service good and attentive, but the food is also incredibly delicious. We each had a cucumber salad as a starter, followed by my husband's roulade with dumplings, and I had beef goulash with dumplings. Everything was fresh and incredibly delicious. We went back the very next evening and were not disappointed...everything fresh/everything homemade (you could see and taste it in the sauces). A huge compliment from us, keep up the good work 😀

Once again, looking for something different from the usual! Czech cuisine speaks for itself, so I didn't think twice before stopping in and was not disappointed. The team is quick and responsive. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten track, so it's not as crowded as the other stalls on the main shopping street. We weren't particularly hungry, so we feasted on three appetizers. The welcome from the kitchen was also delicious. We highly recommend it and it's a great alternative to burgers, bratwurst, kebabs, and the like.

We're currently at this wonderful place, on the terrace after a strenuous day of hiking. The beef roulades and beef goulash are excellent, reminding my wife and me of our childhood, when our mom and grandma would prepare exactly these dishes. Compliments to the kitchen!!!

A truly typical Czech restaurant, which unfortunately doesn't have the prices you'd find in our neighboring country.🫠 Fast service, good beer, and of course, delicious food make this restaurant visit a trip to the Czech Republic.

Prices have obviously increased, and the menus are outdated. The small beef roulade for €20.70 is overpriced, and the value for money isn't right. One of the three roulade dishes ordered had two roulades on one plate, while the other two had only one. Questions were ignored or dismissed with "they're smaller." That's not how you serve at your table.

Of the 4 meals ordered, 2 were incorrect and one was forgotten. The only thing that was right was garlic baguette with 2 different types of cheese and one of them was grated cheese for the pizza. That doesn't work at all. Absolutely not recommended.

Very great experience at this restaurant. There was a greeting from the kitchen in advance (the photo with the sandwich), which made us very happy and it was extremely tasty because it was garlic bread. There were no long waiting times, the waiter was super friendly and accommodating. The appetizer of garlic soup is highly recommended and unique, definitely try it during your visit! The main courses were all very tasty, apart from the dumplings which tasted a bit boring, there is nothing to complain about! The guests were also thought of in the toilets, hygiene products were available, mega! We'll be back!<3

We were there spontaneously with two adults and two children. The service was very friendly and the food was generally OK. But: we had to wait an incredibly long time. There was a small greeting from the kitchen, drinks... and then nothing more for a very long time. It took more than 1.5 hours for the starter to arrive. It takes a lot longer until the main course. I didn't have a starter myself and was so hungry by the time the food arrived that the meal was no longer enjoyable. My children almost fell asleep at the table at some point. The food was ok so far, but depending on the dish it was a bit salty. The wait didn't end with the main course either. The waitress was informed that we would like the bill and was not seen again. Some time later her colleague asked what we wanted... the bill! It's a shame, it could have been nice!

We ate at the Praha restaurant on Christmas Day. The ambience was very nice, the table was lovingly set. A very nice, quiet atmosphere and the food was super tasty, actually more like 5 stars. Nice restaurant in the old town of Wernigerode with typical Czech cuisine. It was super tasty and met our expectations. The staff is super nice and quick. In addition to the cuisine, the original Pilsner Urquell and the extensive selection of spirits are particularly noteworthy.

On the way I happened to look down the alley and saw a small glow in the distance. The menu was very interesting and the dining room was also very cozy. Highly recommended, the food is delicious and the service is quite friendly.

Our meal started with a very tasty greeting from the kitchen, which immediately made us want more! We both had the goulash, which was just perfect! Super tender meat and we couldn't get enough of the sauce and dumplings. We were in the Czech Republic 2 1/2 years ago and haven't eaten goulash as good as here since then. The restaurant is 100% on the agenda for our next visit to Wernigerode and we will recommend it to our friends without reservation. Thanks again for the lovely evening! :)

Spontaneous visit without a reservation, but the food was a disappointment. At least the pork with wild mushroom sauce and dumplings. The meat was like that but the sauce was a diluted cream sauce with canned champions and the dumplings...yeah, I can't describe it. Never again if we come to Wernigerode again. The only thing that was very good was the Pilsner Urquell. 2 stars: one for no reservation and the second for the beer.

Very friendly service and delicious food. It's cozy and the greeting from the kitchen was particularly great. We had Svickova and Rolladen, it was big and very tasty. Next time I'm in Wernigerode I will definitely come back. And thank you very much for the good tips for excursions😊

We (Wernigerode couple) have been guests several times now, very tasty food, price/performance completely fine. Every now and then there is also a Becherovka as dessert. We are happy with this location and would love to come back!

Contemporary restaurant. Not for those in a hurry. A place to enjoy traditional Czech dishes prepared "Grandma's way," fresh and modern. Time permitting, pleasant conversations with the owners. We'd be happy to return. December 30, 2024.

We were here during a short vacation. Ordering for four people at short notice was no problem, even on New Year's Eve. The food was delicious, plentiful, and absolutely reasonable. The welcome from the kitchen was a great idea, and tasted great, too. Very friendly service, informal and relaxed, with quick, competent advice. Beer beyond discussion, just enjoy! All in all, a restaurant you'd have to find even in Berlin. We'll be happy to come back if we ever find ourselves here again. The garlic soup and the chef's special are unique and highly recommended. The service is very fast and courteous. Praha is a restaurant you absolutely must try.

Only discovered at second glance in a side street. Smaller menu with delicious Czech dishes from grandma's kitchen. Simply delicious!
