The food was truly delicious and of excellent quality, but also quite expensive. Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for our food, during which time Lieferando drivers came and picked up orders – this made us feel somewhat neglected as restaurant guests. The service was still friendly and attentive, but it was clear that the team was quite busy due to the large number of customers. The ambiance is nicely designed, but a bit cramped, especially when there are many guests. Overall: A great restaurant with delicious food that we would gladly visit again when it's less crowded.

The price/performance ratio isn't right. Too expensive for the quality, and the presentation wasn't particularly special. It was delicious...

Came here 10/09 at 22pm to hear that the kitchen closes at 22pm closing time on Google is 23pm. Such a dissapointment!

This is my third time here, and I have to say I'd gladly make the two-hour drive to eat here. The food is amazing, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the location is also incredibly pleasant. Amazing!

We spontaneously decided on this restaurant because our hotel was nearby. We received a very friendly welcome and were allowed to choose a table. We were handed our menus and our drinks orders were taken very kindly. Since we weren't sure about the menu, we showed them photos from the reviews, and the young waiter chuckled a bit but knew immediately what it was. The sushi was absolutely amazing, beautifully presented, fresh, delicious—simply amazing. We've rarely eaten such delicious sushi. Even our second order was brought to our table quickly and friendly, and it was also delicious. Great place Great team Superb, perfect food A very successful spontaneous dinner visit.

A very nice and elegant sushi restaurant. The ambiance inside is very pleasant, and the outside is okay due to its street location. The food is definitely expensive, but you get top-quality sushi. However, it's important to note that this is definitely not a cheap sushi place. The service is perfectly fine, neither extremely positive nor negative.

As soon as it's served, you notice how much love and care goes into each individual plate: artfully arranged, freshly prepared, and simply a visual highlight. The selection of rolls was impressive – from classic to creative, every combination a delight. The versions with flambéed salmon and the special rolls with creamy sauces were especially delicious. Crisp vegetables, perfectly cooked rice, and fresh fish – everything here is just right. Unfortunately the worst mochis I’ve ever eaten.. they were completly hard and frozen. Also, the crispy tunna got the tuna cooked ( which its a pity for me) and the fried chicked was not my favorite. Since our regular sushi restaurants were fully booked at short notice, we discovered the restaurant Zweigleisig. The Google reviews were very mixed – some very good, some very critical – so we wanted to see for ourselves. We ordered appetizers, sushi as a starter, and a meat dish as a main course. Unfortunately, the dishes didn't impress us in any way. The sushi, in particular, didn't meet our expectations in terms of texture or taste. On the plus side, we should mention the very friendly waiter with a beard – he was attentive and service-oriented. The fact that they removed some items from our receipt after our honest feedback was fair and appreciative. Despite the friendly service, we won't be visiting the restaurant again. Our experience was disappointing – but of course, everyone should make their own.

The service was really friendly and attentive. There's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, the sushi didn't live up to our expectations. As a true sushi lover with experience, I have to say: the taste was rather disappointing and definitely overhyped. For €135, we had hoped for much more. It was okay, but there are definitely better places for sushi in Düsseldorf. We wouldn't go back, though.

Disappointing experience with a brought-in cake! I am very disappointed with the way my brought-in cake was handled. I called in advance and asked if it was allowed to bring a birthday cake, and I was told I could take it with me, but nothing more! Although the purchased cake was stored in a sturdy Styrofoam box with dry ice and delivered to you in perfect condition, all the frosting was crushed, no decorations were visible, everything had run, melted, and the cake was thus visually ruined. When I asked what had happened, I received contradictory statements: First, I was told the frosting had melted, later, they said, "I touched a little bit of it when I took it out." These inconsistencies in the explanation are incomprehensible to me and reinforce the negative impression. In addition, a service charge of €1.50 was charged for each plate on which the cake was to be served. We were not informed of this charge in advance. Given the condition in which the cake was served and returned, I find this additional charge completely unreasonable. I was looking forward to a wonderful occasion, which was unfortunately marred by the condition of the cake and the circumstances surrounding it. I hope this was an isolated incident and that you will treat your guests' belongings more carefully in the future, and that your service charges are proportionate to the service provided and communicate this transparently.

Disappointing service - never again! Unfortunately my visit to this restaurant was a bitter disappointment. The service left a lot to be desired: the waiters were not only rude, but also obviously uninterested, and one looked in vain for a smile or a minimum of friendliness. The impression was superficial and unprofessional – hospitality is definitely different.

Today I went to this sushi restaurant with my partner and unfortunately our experience was anything but positive. The sushi wasn't bad, but it's definitely overpriced for the prices charged. There are many other restaurants in town that offer far better sushi. The service was particularly disappointing. We were served by a young man whose unkempt demeanor we didn't like. Even worse were the multiple primitive and sexist statements he made to us. Something like that has no place in a restaurant. In addition, the atmosphere was disrupted by an event in the basement where the room was rented out for a young person's birthday. The toilets in the men's area were in an unbearable condition and were full of vomit - this is simply unacceptable. Overall, I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant and therefore only give it one star. There are definitely better alternatives in the city that impress in terms of both quality and service.

Oh well .. Sushi a 7/10. The truffle fries are a 10/10.

The food was very delicious! We had dinner there with friends to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was very expensive, but it looked promising. The ambience was great and you could take nice photos, but the food wasn't that pleasant. It tasted good and we were able to try out a lot of new things, but we all had such bad stomach aches afterwards and were also nauseous (I should leave out the details)… it was just HORROR. And we eat sushi regularly and love it...but nothing like this has ever happened to us. We wonder what was in there that made us feel so bad afterwards. In summary, it wasn't worth it for us and not for the price. Sorry :/

A huge scam: Valentine's Day menu for €89 in 3 courses with a glass of champagne was offered. A completely overcrowded restaurant awaited us, with all the patio furniture also littered, with far too few employees who were completely overwhelmed and helplessly and inexperienced looking for the respective tables. Pure chaos. Due to the late booking time (10 p.m.) we decided to stay anyway. Start of the menu: the glass of champagne turned out to be a very bad choice as a Billo-Cremant from ALDI. The 3 course menu came in the form of a starter - 3 different rolls in Japanese style. Style with 2 pieces of gyoza relatively tasteful, but carelessly prepared and served. The main course after an hour's wait also consisted of 3 different rolls of chicken, salmon and 1 x indefinable, as well as 2 different skewers - 1 x yakitori and once supposedly teppanyaki - carelessly thrown into a bowl. The Teppanyaki skewer was made of beef, but completely unsuitable for quick frying (hard as a rock). Everything else was also inedible and poorly and unappetizingly presented. We decided not to try the Macha Eclair dessert because we wouldn't have been able to get out of this bad experience anyway This store is a pure scam operation. Pure rip-off. It's obviously hyped up by social media and its users come here and get fooled. When paying, you finally notice the following: Intermediate bill with the sum for 1 menu is presented, but the card is charged with the sum for 2 menus. The invoice I demand comes quickly from a box with prepared invoices. Everyone can draw their own conclusions from this It's actually recommended here NOTHING

Normally this is my favourite cocktails and I take it in every restaurant but the lillet wild berry cocktail at restaurant zweigleisg didn’t have any taste.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide any insights into “normal” operations; this review refers to the Valentine’s Day menu with 3 courses from February 14, 2025. When we arrived at the restaurant on time at the reserved time, the waiter at reception explained to us that there were no free tables in the upper and much more beautifully furnished area due to delays from previous guests. The only two free tables were right next to the bar and were certainly uncovered for good reason. We were then escorted to the basement, which is otherwise used as a bar. The table was in the back area right against the wall and under the very loud ventilation. After a long wait, the starter with the welcome drink came. It is unusual that no soy sauce is available in an Asian restaurant, but this was not provided after repeated requests. Elsewhere, drinks that were ordered were forgotten but were listed on the bill. In general, the waiter seemed overwhelmed and the restaurant was not prepared for the number of guests. After another long wait, the main course appeared consisting of 4 types of sushi rolls and 2 small meat skewers. I could already imagine that such a menu wouldn't serve 8 pieces per type, but a total of 8 pieces of sushi and 2 small meat skewers as a main course is simply questionable, especially at a price of 89€pp when booking online, the price stated on the menu was 119€pp. In summary, we spent almost 3 hours (approx. 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) in the restaurant, spent €200 and didn't get anywhere near full. We also noticed the negative mood, especially in relation to the long waiting time, among almost all of the other guests. If you are not prepared for such an event due to a lack of organization, it is better not to do so. My first and last visit to this restaurant.

The food was one of the worst I've ever eaten in my life. It was a three-course meal that I had reserved for Valentine's Day. Not only were the portions super tiny, the food also took ages. We had to ask several times. We waited for 1 hour for the first course. There was no planning and at least one waiter apologized. The restaurant was completely overcrowded, which means they made a fortune there and it just wasn't tasty. So you spent around €180 for having to put up with long waiting times and the evening was a bit of a letdown.

Terribly poorly organized restaurant as part of the Valentine's Day offer (€90 for 3 courses): understaffed, chaotic and a complete disappointment. Longest waiting times between dishes that I have ever had to experience, an hour passed until the starter arrived, another hour for the main course... We were never asked to order drinks, only upon request, whereupon the drinks were (partially) served half an hour later. Mediocre, unoriginal food in extremely small portions at an overpriced price and a staff that was completely overwhelmed and didn't seem to know their way around. If you're hoping for good service and delicious food, it's best to try another restaurant.

Yes, hello, I was in a restaurant with my wife yesterday and I really know a lot about food because I travel a lot in Europe. That was by far the worst meal in my life. The service was very nice but as I said the worst food I have eaten in my life, to put it more precisely on a scale of 1-10 it was a -8

Ein Riesenbetrug: Valentinstagsmenü für € 89 in 3 Gängen mit einem Glas Champagne wurde angeboten. Es erwartete uns ein völlig überfülltes Lokal, mit den gesamten Terrasenmöbeln zusätzlich zugemüllt, mit völlig überforderten viel zu wenigen Mitarbeitern, die hilflos und unerfahren die jeweiligen Tische suchten. Chaos pur. Aufgrund der späten Buchungszeit (22.00 Uhr) entschlossen wir uns dennoch zu verbleiben. Menüstart: das Glas Champagne entpuppte sich als ein Billo-Cremant von ALDI als sehr schlechte Wahl. Das 3-Gang-Menu kam in Form von Vorspeise - 3 verschiedene Rolls im japanischen. Stil mit 2 Stück Gyoza relativ geschmackvoll, allerdings lieblos angerichtet und serviert daher. Der Hauptgang nach einstündiger Wartezeit bestand ebenfalls aus 3 verschiedenen Rolls Huhn, Lachs und 1 x undefinierbar, sowie 2 verschiedene Spieße - 1 x Yakitori und einmal angeblich Teppanyaki - liebelos in ein Schüsselchen geworfen. Der Spieß Teppanyaki bestand aus Rindfleisch, jedoch zum Kurzbraten völlig ungeeignet (hart wie Stein). Alles andere ebenfalls ungenießbar und schlecht und unappetittlich präsentiert. Auf das Dessert Macha Eclair verzichteten wir denn doch, hätte diese miese Erfahrung eh nicht mehr rausgerissen Dieser Laden ist ein reines Betrugsunternehmen. Abzocke pur. Wird offensichtlich hochgehypt durch die sozialen Medien und deren Nutzer verkehren hier und lassen sich verarschen. Beim Bezahlen fällt zum Schluß Folgendes auf; Zwischenrechnung mit der Summe für 1 Menü wird präsentiert, aber die Karte wird belastet mit der Summe für 2 Menüs. Die Rechnung, die ich verlange, kommt schnellstens aus einem Kästchen mit vorbereiteten Rechnungen. Hieraus mag nun jeder selbst seine Schlüsse ziehen Empfehlenswert ist hier eigentlich NICHTS

The food and the ambience are okay to good - but as a spontaneous guest you feel absolutely unwelcome here. Without a reservation you are immediately brushed off: “No, no chance!” – every time. The absurd thing: After hectic running around and the obligatory look at the reservation system, it always turns out that there are enough tables available. We were there once during the week at 8:30 p.m. - the place was almost empty, 80% of the tables were unoccupied - and still the same drama. At first it was "oh, no chance", then suddenly there was a free table. However, the majority of tables remained free throughout our stay. To test it, we made an online reservation for six people - it was confirmed within seconds. Instead of a friendly greeting or a willingness to look for a solution, it seems as if we have triggered a catastrophe every time we show up. During today's visit at 9 p.m. it was finally enough. The fifth time we watched this pointless show, we simply left after it was again said: "No, not a chance." As we were out the door, an employee ran after us - because there was suddenly a table after all. What followed was a heated controversy instead of an apology. To be honest: that’s it for us. We are tired of feeling like supplicants every time. It's a shame, because the food and drinks are good - but hospitality is different. We were warmly welcomed in the spoon bar next door and spent a lovely evening there.

A real insider tip and one of the best restaurants in Düsseldorf! The restaurant impresses on the one hand with the selection and quality of the dishes and on the other hand with the special ambience. Above all, there is very high-quality sushi here, which is also beautifully prepared, and the drinks menu is also really impressive and emphasis is also placed on high-quality ingredients. In the restaurant you sit in the middle of (artificial) cherry trees and, especially with the lighting in the evening, it really makes a difference. I can only warmly recommend the “double track”.

It's outrageous that we waited for half an hour despite having a reservation and there were 8 other guests waiting with us. Very unprofessional and disorganized and they didn't pay any attention to us when we stood at the entrance, we waited 5 minutes for the host. Disappointing experience at Zweigleisig: lack of management and unprofessionalism - with clarifying feedback Regarding Two-Track, I originally had to express my disappointment with the experience I had. While the kitchen seems to know its stuff right from the start - the sushi is actually fantastic - the management back then left a lot to be desired. I witnessed unfriendly and unprofessional behavior towards regular customers, and in my case, even cross-border behavior. An employee, who I thought was the manager, ignored my personal or social boundaries, touched me unwantedly and ultimately expelled me from the restaurant when he could no longer find any arguments in response to my criticism. My companion (two people) was just as shocked as I was, and even the DJ asked confused: "What's going on here?" All of this led to my original negative review and a clear statement: There was no chance of me returning. However, what happened next shows that Zweigleisig made an effort to take responsibility: the owners personally apologized to me and informed me that the employee in question was no longer part of the team. As a sign of reparation, they also invited me to visit their restaurant again. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to accept the invitation yet, but I would like to emphasize that this gesture shows that management takes criticism seriously and is willing to admit mistakes. The sushi at Zweigleisig is without a doubt excellent, and I hope to have a thoroughly positive experience on a future visit.

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I came in and was immediately greeted politely, shown to the table and offered water. Cocktail was also one of the tastiest I've ever had!!! The sushi is bomb and the salmon is fine and aromatic like from a 5 star restaurant. Every time I drank my gals empty, I was given a new drink. Top waiter. When I didn't know what to have for my main course, they helped me a lot and didn't stress me out. I would love to eat there every day. The prices are definitely justified for this quality. From sushi to dessert everything was perfect and tasted great 10/10

So… I was blown away! The service: bombastic. Our waiter was super attentive, kept asking if everything was okay, took our jackets from us and at the end helped us put our jackets back on. He noticed that the table was wobbling a bit and fixed it straight away (without us having to say anything). So really, really good! I find the ambience incomparable - it is furnished with style and you immediately feel at home. And the food: we enjoyed it very much, there's nothing wrong with it. I'll definitely be back! I have more than enough sushi and sashimi than average sushi lovers. But this place was a bit disappointed. We odered 4 appetizers and 4 rolls to share... the appetizers were average, but the rolls were way too Germanlized... that's the best way I can describe them.

Today we wanted to celebrate my birthday in this restaurant. The mood was changed three seconds after entering the restaurant by the very unfriendly blonde, slim-built waiter with a half-bald head (according to another waiter, even the manager). We said that we had made a reservation, whereupon he said, “What do you think I need from you now?” Instead of asking for the name in a normal tone. What's more, once he knew the name, he didn't even look anywhere to see whether we had actually made a reservation. After we were brought the menus and decided on what to eat, we asked if the tuna in the fried roll was raw or cooked. He then replied “fried”. This answer didn't get us anywhere because it obviously didn't answer the question. After asking the question again, he said, "It's logical that the fish is fried, the whole roll is fried." And that's not logical, since tuna can be prepared both cooked and raw for sushi before it is fried . After placing our order, we asked another waiter to serve us. He was very nice and showed understanding about the incident. Food was delicious, drinks were very small. For the price you can at least offer 0.33l instead of 0.2. Actually a good restaurant in terms of taste, without the blonde waiter the restaurant would be good, but unfortunately it would be poor with him. We've never had such a bad experience in a restaurant!

On November 9th, 2024 I was eating in the restaurant with my partner for a special occasion. Before I criticize the staff, I would like to say again that the food tasted very good. Not exactly cheap for 8 pieces of sushi for €16-19 but the taste justifies the price. At the reception I told the waiter, whose listlessness was clearly evident from his body language, that we had reserved for two people. After 5 seconds of silence, the waiter (who is the manager of the restaurant, as I was later told): “What else do you think I need from you…your name!” At first I thought it was a failed attempt to lighten the mood at the reception, but when I ordered the food I realized it wasn't just a little joke. I asked if the tuna in the fried tuna roll is raw or cooked before frying, as both are offered depending on the restaurant. The answer was dry “fried!”. Again I asked if the tuna was raw or cooked BEFORE frying. After another cheeky reply with “of course raw, what else?”, I asked another waiter if he could serve us from now on. He was so friendly and accommodated us. We were very happy with the second waiter. Conclusion: Given that such an unfriendly manager is a mainstay of the restaurant, I will definitely not come here again. It's a shame about the good food and the other employees who can't do anything about it.

Everything is just right in this store: top quality food, attentive and friendly service, an appealing atmosphere with a varied audience. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine, five of us were there as a family and will definitely come back!

I have to admit that even though I don't like Asian cuisine and only came to eat here on the recommendation of my wife, I was extremely pleasantly surprised. I was impressed by the food, the service and the ambience. I'm looking forward to the next time.

Solid fusion sushi in a lounge-like atmosphere. You can now find it everywhere in the city. Prices are correspondingly rather high. Service OK. All in all ok.

Very nice restaurant with good prices and delicious rolls

We only came here because of a Neotaste voucher and it didn't look like “going out for a fancy meal”. Maybe that's why the waiter was a bit skeptical of us at first. But he thawed out quickly and became very nice! The food was really really good. The prices are a bit high but you get great sushi and delicious Japanese food. I can definitely recommend the soup!

Insanely delicious. The menu is relatively small, which is a very good sign for me. The service is friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. When the traffic has calmed down, it's really nice to sit outside. It's definitely worth the money, we will of course come back!
