King Fusion in Düsseldorf

The food is delicious and there is so much choice on the menu. From vegan to meat, sushi 🍣. The service was super nice. I can only recommend it.

Very friendly, attentive staff, fast service, quick serving of the food I ordered (duck with hoisun sauce and vegetables) - all my hopes for a delicious meal before my visit to the theater were fulfilled!

Anyone expecting real fusion cuisine will be disappointed here. The shop is very nice, the waiters are friendly, but with a lot of scope for service training. Above all, I am giving this review with the price in mind. This in no way corresponds to the quality of the food. The food was not seasoned. Only covered with teriyaki sauce. Shrimp from the frozen section and salmon completely brown, fried and dry. Plus fries on one Iceberg lettuce bed. I was really very surprised and expected more. Anyone can make the meal at home. You can have a nice evening here, with a few drinks before partying, but unfortunately it has nothing to do with good fusion cuisine and quality.

Great music and nice trendy decor. The food was OK, a little expensive and just OK. The entrecote, ordered medium, had a good cuisson. The taste however was really bland, and it seems as if is pressed on the grill so it became a little dry. The octopus dish was OK, could use less sauce. The mango sorbet is my favourite. All other dishes were just OK, some too dry.

We have reserved a table for 6:30 p.m. this evening. The reception was very uncoordinated and unsorted. After a few minutes of waiting we were taken to the square. It took 20 minutes for us to get our drinks when we asked. The drinks were then placed on the table without pouring anything...like at the next table. Each process was handled by a different waiter. It was noticeable that they didn't communicate with each other... we were asked by 3 of 4 waiters whether there were only 4 of us instead of 5. After waiting another 15 minutes, we were asked what we would like to eat. We politely declined, paid for our drinks and left. The ambience itself was appealing, but the music was very loud and inappropriate. We were really looking forward to dinner because we had only heard positive things... well maybe the whole concept was based on all the positive things.

Do not recommend AT ALL. It looks like an exclusive restaurant on the outside, but the food and the staff did not reflect this. Starting with our cocktails, we paid €16 per cocktail to receive some pineapple juice, which they called an ‘pornstar martini’. After sending these back they told us we had to pay for them regardless. After receiving our order we were very unsatisfied. For these insane prices we received very oily food with very little taste. Besides the mediocre food, nobody came to check up on us. After an hour of waiting we decided to go to the counter to pay, since nobody came for the check. Do not recommend, save your money instead or go to Mcdonalds.

Food was not amazing. And no service at all they just bring the food to your table that’s it. No questions if you need another drink or if you wanna pay. Bad cocktails and bad sushi tasteless. Spring rolls too oily. Only the sweet potato fries are okay. You only pay to sit fancy that’s all. So if you wanna sit fancy go and pay €130.

Der Service war an diesem Abend leider ein wenig überfordert. Zu wenige Mitarbeiter, die zudem über wenig Erfahrung zu verfügen schienen. Da es mehrere Gruppen gab, war das Restaurant auch ziemlich laut. Auf den veröffentlichten Bildern wirkt es wesentlich eleganter, als es in Wirklichkeit ist.

The service is so quick and friendly, but the food needs a lot of work. The sushi rice tasted old. Most of the dishes were quite flat. Was expecting so much more in terms of flavour. The price doesn’t match what you get, quality wise.

I rarely write reviews, but the horrendous experience I had at King Fusion left me no choice. From start to finish, it was an absolute disaster. If I could give zero stars, I would. To start, the restaurant is overpriced for what it delivers. For such high prices, you’d at least expect decent service and food, but King Fusion managed to fail on every single level. Let’s start with the service. They got our order wrong THREE TIMES. How is that even possible? We explicitly ordered a dish without cucumber (due to an allergy), yet it arrived with cucumber—not once, but TWICE. Each time, we reminded them, and each time, they failed. What made it even worse was the attitude of the staff. The waitress was downright rude and dismissive, refusing to acknowledge their repeated mistakes. Instead of apologizing, she argued with us and claimed things were on the menu that clearly were not. Speaking of the menu, it’s incomplete and lacks crucial information. For example, they offer wine but don’t even provide the name of the producer. This lack of transparency is unacceptable, especially for a restaurant charging such high prices. Now, let’s talk about the food—or should I say, the disappointment on a plate. The sushi was tiny, poorly made, and absolutely mediocre. For a place that presents itself as an upscale Asian fusion restaurant, the quality was laughable. The rest of the food wasn’t any better—bland flavors, questionable presentation, and absolutely no respect for allergies or dietary restrictions. To add insult to injury, the entire experience was topped off by the hostile atmosphere created by the staff. Dining out is supposed to be enjoyable, but at King Fusion, it was stressful and infuriating. Save yourself the frustration and the money. King Fusion is a total rip-off with terrible service, mediocre food, and zero accountability. Stay far away!

Sehr angenehmer Nachmittag mit gutem Essen in angenehmer Atmosphäre. Kurze Wartezeiten und die Zubereitung der Speisen war wirklich sehr gut. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

Service was extremely bad. The girls were trying to do a good job but forgot a lot of orders while three men were sitting at the back together watching the colleagues working…insane. Food was really good but we waited more than 1 hour for our dishes while the table next to us got the dishes served right away

Table was reserved after 40 minutes "without" being able to place the food order. We thanked him for waiving and left. It's a shame...the ambience is great...and the food should be great too.

Nettes Restaurant um unkompliziert zu essen. Service ist sehr effizient und freundlich. Das Essen ist auch Convenience Niveau.

The food was good but nothing extraordinary. The service was very quick and friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Given however that there are a lot of Asian restaurants in Düsseldorf that seem to be a bit more authentic to me, not sure I’d go again.

We were here for the first time and have to say that it was really delicious. Starting with the nice service (unfortunately forgot name, blonde young Croatian) who was super friendly and really accommodating, to the food and the conclusion. The highlight was the robot that sang birthday songs! Just so awesome. Price performance top. We will definitely come back 😊 highly recommended

Wir waren das erste mal hier und müssen sagen, dass es wirklich sehr lecker war. Angefangen von der netten Bedienung(Namen leider vergessen, blonde junge Kroatin) die super freundlich und wirklich zuvorkommend war, bis zum Essen und den Abschluss. Der Highlight war der Roboter, der Geburtstagslieder gesungen hat ! Einfach so genial. Preis Leistung Top. Wir kommen definitiv wieder 😊

The food was delicious but the service was terrible. Waited 45 minutes for the sushi. I have never seen such small sushi rolls. Price performance not ok.

Essen sehr lecker aber kam viel zu schnell. Es kommt auch alles auf einmal. Suppe, Nudeln, Sushi etc. Steht zwar auf der Karte dass sie alles dann bringen wenn es fertig ist, stört natürlich trotzdem, wenn man sich eine Suppe zur Vorspeise und ein warmes Hauptgericht bestellt ind dann beides zeitgleich kommt so dass man das Hauptgericht kalt Essen muss, daher überhaupt das Konzept nicht. Service nett, jedoch zur vollen Stunde immer draußen am rauchen und drinnen größtenteils nicht verfügbar. Die Gäste rauchend vorm Eingang zu empfangen macht auch keinen guten Eindruck. Preise in Ordnung. Wir waren, dadurch dass das Essen so schnell kommt und alles auf einmal nach 30 Minuten(!!) nach Ankunft mit dem Essen fertig. Das hat für mich nichts mich einem schönen Abend zu tun.

The food is always great here and so is the ambience. This time a serving robot was used. Unfortunately it was so tight that other guests had to get up so that the robot could get to the table to be served. However, the flesh-and-blood waitress also seemed robotic; the serving robot at least smiled.

It tasted very tasty. The service is a bit rough but secretly everything was good. The ambience is also nice.

Really awful. Each "piece" of sushi looks different, as if children cut it blindfolded. We had to wait half an hour and look for waiters before we were finally allowed to order our drinks. These only arrived AFTER our meal - really bad. The service was incredibly arrogant and unfriendly, bad service, bad food - no thanks! Never again!

from the restaurant to the snack bar.... Reservations are of no use here. Waitress assigns a dirty table, although all tables were dirty. Cleanliness is a foreign word here. You can find leftovers from the previous guest under the table. The menu was so uncomfortable to hold (everything was super greasy) The price-performance ratio and hygiene have declined so much over the last 3 years that it simply looks like an overpriced snack bar. This year alone I've eaten there 3 times, 3 times too many because the experience was always the same. A certain tolerance limit was certainly granted until this evaluation was created. About the food: it was okay but it was a bit carelessly prepared and no value is attached to that anymore. Ultimately it turned out to be a very, very expensive experience if you wanted to eat there. For us, that was the last time and guess what, we would eat there from then on.

Very rude and unprofessional service that harshly attacks you when you give friendly criticism about the food. I received criticism because I ordered “Baked Ice Cream” as dessert. The ice cream was not baked, but very cold and completely frozen. The service was completely out of tune and it really spoiled our mood.

We ended up here by chance earlier, but that was very 👍. The food here is very tasty. Both the sushi and the salmon as well as the salad with mango. The tapas were also excellent. Edamame, squid and beef chips. The desserts macha tiramisu and baked ice cream are a delicacy. The white house wine is also excellent. Highly recommended ❤️

The tapas were delicious, with the octopus being particularly outstanding. The prices aren't exactly cheap but still reasonable. However, it was occasionally challenging to catch the waiters' attention, resulting in a half-hour wait to order the next bottle of wine.

It's a great place for a date or a business meeting. While not all the dishes are highly flavorful, the food overall is good.

Great and very divers fusion food, some non alcoholic cocktails.

I enjoyed the location it's centrally situated and close to many hotels in the Altstadt. The atmosphere is pleasant elegant and upscale without being over the top, with a modern, cozy feel. I recommend trying the Salmon, the Edamame (even though I'm not usually a big fan of Edamame), and the Matcha Tiramisu.

King Fusion provides plenty of options for vegetarians like me. Their plant-based dishes are both delicious and filling. It's a fantastic choice for anyone who loves vegetarian food

This is one of the top restaurants I've been to in Düsseldorf, possibly even the best. The only drawback is that it's a bit expensive. However, the food is absolutely exceptional. We tried the octopus starter and a spicy tuna and salmon roll (the first salmon dish in the sushi section)

Food was good but the ambiance was not great.

Very tasty food, but unfortunately an incredibly small selection of vegan dishes. The menu contains incorrect allergens in some places. This should urgently be improved. In plant-based curry the letter stands for fish and in a veggie dish Parmesan is listed.

Delicious food and nice service

We were always here 2 years ago and we always really liked it. Only we believe that there was a change of ownership and that's why certain dishes that we ate before were no longer available. Even though there was nothing going on, we were pretty much ignored and the restaurant can't do anything about that, but the customers really weren't appropriate for the price, were very loud and bawled around as if we were in the zoo. We won't go there anymore. One waitress was super sweet and nice and the other was absolutely arrogant.

I've been there a few times and the food was great. I was there with my girlfriend two weeks ago, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. We shared a sushi platter, which was always excellent, but unfortunately not this time. For the main course I had duck and my friend had fried noodles with prawns and chicken. Unfortunately also very disappointing. I'll definitely try it again, maybe the chef was just having a bad day. 😉

Nice atmosphere, food was very tasty. We found the tapas concept rather irritating because in the end it was as if we had a starter and a main course and tapas are something different than edamame to share. Not bad, just not needed. Waiters were very nice, location is great. We had a lovely evening and will be back.

Schönes Ambiente, Essen war sehr lecker. Das Tapas Konzept fanden wir eher irritierend, da es am Ende doch so war als hätten wir Vorspeise und Hauptspeise gehabt und Tapas sind doc h eher was anderes, als Edamame zum teilen. Nicht schlimm, nur halt nicht benötigt. Kellner waren sehr nett, Lage ist super. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend und kommen wieder.

The food was very good - but that was the only good thing about the restaurant. The service was disastrous. You can understand that you sometimes have to wait a little longer when the store is full. But I don't think it's normal that you're sat down and then have to wait for a good 20 minutes and then have to call the waitress yourself to even get something to drink. And that happened several times because we were put off each time with the words “Someone is coming soon.” After we were finally able to order, we waited... and waited. When, after another hour, our drinks didn't even come, we asked again and were repeatedly told off that it would come soon - and then suddenly the first main course was on the table. Even before the drink! Drinks came at some point - after we went to the bar to ask. Followed by the food, which was served one after the other, each time with several minutes in between, so that the whole serving took another half hour. The first person had already finished their tapas and main course when the last person was just served their dish - that's absolutely not possible. We asked several times, complained and were always put off, but never apologized. We even had the impression that after asking for our drinks 3 times, we were ignored when we tried to call the waitress. People who came after us and ordered after us were served before us - both drinks and food (and these groups were no bigger than ours). Something that is also a negative point is if you get unclean and broken dishes - one of the soy sauce bowls had a very obvious crack in them. Conclusion: The food was good and beautifully presented, but the bottomless service spoiled the experience for us.

Amazing food and great atmosphere 🦊

Despite a reservation, there was a waiting time for the table and then 30 MINUTES for the order and another 90 MINUTES for the food, which was then brought incorrectly and cold. That was the last visit!

We visited King Fusion today (06/01/24) and are extremely disappointed with the experience. We had made a reservation for a bachelorette party that evening, but there were several problems that made our visit very unpleasant: Even though we had a reservation, after about 1.5 hours we were asked by the waitress to leave the restaurant because supposedly you can only stay there for 1.5 hours. This had not been communicated to us beforehand and was very unpleasant. Our food didn't come to the table at the same time, but at different times. Some of us had already finished our meals while others were still waiting for their food. This greatly affected the shared meal and the entire experience. While paying, I heard the waitress talking about me behind my back, using very bad terms. Such behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. When we left the restaurant we were given a very unfriendly look and were told that there was a lot going on because of the Japan Festival and that we had to clear the table for the next reservation. This treatment definitely ruined our evening. Even though there were four of us and we left a lot of money there, it wasn't justified to be treated like that. We will avoid this restaurant in the future and cannot recommend it to others! I understand that during a big event like Japan Festival it can be busy, but that doesn't justify the poor treatment and poor service. I hope the management takes this criticism seriously and improves the service and treatment of guests. I hope this review hits the desired note and helps present the issues clearly and constructively. In my opinion, one star is more than too much for King Fusion!

The ambience was very nice and exactly what you would expect from a slightly fancier fusion kitchen. The tapas were quite good, but the price-performance ratio was definitely not right. My two friends also had the Creamy Soba and it was really disastrous. In the end it was an oversalted spaghetti cabonara with miso paste mixed into the sauce. We are very sure that it was miso paste because my friend found a tablespoon-sized lump in her food. The service was a complete disaster. Not only were you pretty much ignored and placed in the last corner next to the toilets, even though there were still tables available that had not been reserved, but the waitresses were generally unfriendly and were even completely overwhelmed when it came to paying. Four different people actually had to help us pay because everyone who started charging us ran away again. It wasn't particularly professional that the waitress and chef argued loudly right in front of our table. In short, absolutely not recommended.

The food wasn’t very tasty and the service was very long

Good place, tasty food, but unfortunately they forgot one of our dishes. Also waitress politely asked us to free the table the moment last drop of beer was drunken, which was rude.

One of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. Issues began with a clueless hostess who had not kept an eye on the reservations and not cleared tables on time for incoming reservations, so we found ourselves waiting for over 15mins as a queue formed out the door with more guest with the same issue. The hostess ran around looking for tables, which is frankly not her job, and the owner was just standing around near the entrance, drinking beer and answering the occasional question the hostess had, feigning to delegate. It wasn't very reassuring that she had to repeatedly ask him for the password for the hosting screen... We already got a sense that staff was untrained as we watched two waitresses loudly discuss a table for two minutes straight as they all scuffled at the one and only cash till. Throughout our stay another queue also formed of people wanting to pay, which caused three waitresses to fight the till at regular intervals. All of this was overshadowed by such obnoxiously loud drum and bass music that was headache inducing within minutes. Likely the bass and treble was turned to maximum and we spotted two ceiling speakers as well as a 1m speaker in close vicinity. Getting our orders in took another 15-20mins and it took ages for drinks to come out, of which the quality was subpar. The tea was mediocre, the beer barely cold and the 'cocktail' almost only consisted of gin. The starters and main courses eventually arrived, all at the same time to our disappointment and there are several complaints about the dishes themselves. The lobster buns were more likely than not surimi and not actual lobster as there wasn't a hint of the flavour and I've have dined enough in reputable establishments to know the taste of lobster... The duck dish was barely still warm, which was only saved by the fact that it was prepared crispy. If there were a championship for most underwhelming and undersized maki sushi, they would definitely win, it was honestly a farce how small they were... Another dish was written to contain burrata but it was nowhere to be found... The usual mistake of wannabe fusion restaurants is also an absurdly large menu, which they are definitely guilty of. Oddly enough we could also get Japanese beer, despite it not being on their menu at all. Lastly, when asking for the bill, from a table clearer as nobody else was available, they promptly printed the bill for the next table over instead... The management is atrocious and staff is not properly trained whatsoever. It felt more like a poor attempt at restaurant simulator than an actual endeavour to serve half-decent food. This place is a joke, and so is the incredibly pretentious owner.

Burrata sushi without burrata Overpriced Music very loud Dum Dum (rave music) very inappropriate for a restaurant. Muddled with the staff Staff has no idea and run around like chickens. Because: untrained students. The neighboring table received our bill. The management is totally incompetent

I really liked the spot, central area near most hotels in the Altstadt. The vibe is quite nice, elegant, fancy but not too much and modern cosy. Good for date or business meeting The food is not all very flavoured but in general it is good. I recommend the Salmon, the Edameme (and I don’t care about Eda that much) and the Matcha Tiramisu Also nice staff

Food was ok, but not for the price. Vegetarian food is marked with fish and milk allergy information, so vegans had around 2-3 dishes or tapas to order. Our waitress must have had a bad day, I don't think I saw her smile once and it was only with luck that we were able to catch her to order more drinks - even though it was anything but full.

Great atmosphere but you should definitely eat sushi somewhere else. It's a shame ☹️ Espresso Martini was also bad and overpriced at €12.

There is good atmosphere and delicious food in this restaurant. Most of the dishes are not that authentic, but you can tell that from the name of the restaurant. I think offering a curry for €22 where you have to order and pay for the rice separately (+€3) is almost a cheek. I generally assume that a curry is served with rice, even if it is not explicitly mentioned on the menu. But the curry was still very tasty.

This place markets itself as a high end restaurant but the lazy staff make the experience more like ordering from a takeaway. I sat down to eat at 9.30pm and it’s open to 11pm but the staff rushed all three course to my table and then demanded the bill immediately, leaving me less than half an hour to try and enjoy my meal - all because they wanted to go home early. I expected a much better experience considering how much they charge. Food was ok, but the sashimi wasn’t fresh enough…..

The employees are super friendly, the atmosphere is high-quality and harmonious, and the food is outstanding. Best sushi in Düsseldorf. I especially liked the Crunchy Roll. But the warm dishes are also extremely tasty. You pay a little more but the quality and experience make it worth it.
