Restaurant Zur Lochmühle in Ulm

Despite making a reservation in good time, we only got an emergency seat, even though there were still tables available where guests without a reservation were given a seat. Will not visit this restaurant again.

Today we had the honor of eating here. The hospitality was super nice and very accommodating! High praise, something like that is no longer a given these days. The food was also really tasty, the price was right and you got a huge portion! Overall conclusion: you feel like you're at grandma's house and it tastes the same, I think that says it all. ☺️

We sat outside and waited 20 minutes for a waiter. Another table tried to pay for 30 minutes in vain and after they wrote an email with personal information and were almost outside, the waiter came after them. Strangely enough, there was time to read the email, but not to serve the tables. When another table (that was there before us) got up and left without being served, we did the same. I have to add to the owner's answer that of all the tables outside, less than half were occupied. And that some people noticed how the waiter told the other guests that a simple e-mail was not enough and that they could simply disappear.

I highly recommend it, very good cuisine and friendly environment. We were really very pleased 💫💫

The Lochmühle in the popular fishing district in Ulm is worth seeing with its historic half-timbered architecture and picturesque location on the Große Blau. Especially since the food, the delicious beer from the local Berg brewery and the service are worthy of the good location.

I liked everything. I tasted delicious chocolate fondant for the first time in Germany. There is everything necessary for children, a chair, coloring pages, food. I recommend it to everyone.

More appearance than reality: The reservation for a whole group worked online - nothing special! Ordering drinks and food was relatively quick and the service was attentive (it wasn't busy yet). Afterwards, the restaurant became full and the attention towards the guests, who had already invested most of the evening in planning, was noticeably reduced! They were no longer in control of the situation, no one was interested in us and when we tried to pay several times we were repeatedly ignored. As part of the group, I was about to leave without paying because I was under deadline pressure. But I couldn't do this to the group because it always depends on someone, so I left a contribution of money for someone else to cover my bill. After over an hour, three notices, it was not possible to pay. The waitress was also unable to process billing via card and quickly became aggressive (probably due to the lack of organization and division in all areas). It seems to me that this restaurant is more profit-oriented and doesn't take customers into consideration - more throughput brings more money! I also missed the original Swabian tradition of food in terms of the love for its preparation, as production was more based on tourism! Statement on my part: None of the waitresses or employees spoke Swabian and were rather distant from the kitchen. My impression (and the impression of everyone in the group) was that you might visit this restaurant again but would give preference to others. In my opinion, I wouldn't come as a guest again! The price-performance ratio was also not rewarding (even considering the expensive location). Tip: Find a great restaurant in a side street and you will be happier. Further note: my dish was the most expensive on the menu - there was little on it and little intensity in the taste.

Went with 6 people without a reservation on a Sunday. Food absolutely excellent. Confident prices, completely okay given the portion size. Quality of the food, preparation, presentation on the plate perfect. Service and ambience great. Thank you very much, and see you soon.

Quaint restaurant with good local cuisine. The day ticket offers good options in addition to the season ticket, for example “treats”. There is no truly dark beer, but Ulrichsbier is an interesting semi-dark option. The service was very friendly, the drinks came at different times, but the food arrived synchronously. Even if some of the group have ordered starters, everyone has their main courses at the same time.

Very cozy and friendly little restaurant in the middle of the fishing district. Kid friendly! The food was very good and the prices are contemporary and reasonable.

Excellent selection in the menu. Almost too extensive. The Allgäuer Schnitzel was excellent. Venison goulash and side salad too. Service very attentive and friendly, ambience rustic - you immediately feel at home.

Simply great! I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and would highly recommend it. Not only was the food excellent - fresh ingredients, lovingly prepared and perfectly seasoned - but the service (Tamara) was also exceptionally friendly! The waitress Tamara was incredibly friendly, attentive and made sure we felt completely comfortable. Every wish was met without being intrusive. At short notice we decided to eat here as a group of four. We found it positive that we got a seat in the busy restaurant and that we were served friendly and quickly! The beer is super delicious! 🍺 We had a bit of bad luck with food. The grit sausages were cold and the spaetzle wasn't tasty and crispy, but rather watery and carelessly prepared. Too bad! Normally I would have expected an apology from the kitchen or a small compensation from the kitchen or from the bar. But nothing came. Too bad.

We were there as a larger travel group. Excellent food, great service and a rustic atmosphere. Everyone was completely satisfied and would be happy to do so again at any time!

Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated significantly. The spaetzle here used to be really tasty, but now we went back to eat spaetzle after a long time and we were really disappointed. Unfortunately, the cheese spaetzle I had today has never seen cheese. Tasted more like egg dishes. Unfortunately, the onions were also soggy and hardly available. Unfortunately the price was too high for that. However, the salad was very tasty!

Actually a very nice restaurant in a good location with delicious food. But what was clearly a dampener was the older waitress who approached us quite briskly when we thought we had made a reservation. In her “friendly” way, she then looked in the system and told us we didn’t have a reservation. A younger person then came along and found our reservation straight away. The older colleague then ran off to show us a table. It's a shame... Everything would have been great, but unfortunately the lady didn't go at all. Direct and unfriendly.

Good home cooking at a price level aimed at tourists!

We had a good meal here during our visit to Ulm. My Tafelspitz was very good and so was the beer.

The food was very tasty. We sat outside right on the Blau! The service was friendly and good. Chairs and benches could be a bit more comfortable. You can park nearby in the Fischerviertel car park.

I would have loved to give it six stars! Very nice location, the food is an absolute dream, very well-kept beers and a waiter who really enjoys his job. It couldn't be better, keep it up!👏🏻

The service was a bit crazy, I ordered something else and she brought me something else, well my two men had sausage salad and roast pork with spaetzle but my son said there wasn't enough sauce and the roast was far dry, I had schnitzel with fries which was good. But the shandy they offer is not good. I had a sweet one but it wasn't good at all. The best thing is just the location there

On my last visit to the Lochmühle restaurant, I was particularly impressed by the quality of the food. The schnitzel I ordered was cooked perfectly: crispy, tender and juicy. There were also Kässpatzen, which were not only wonderfully creamy but also wonderfully hearty. The combination of these two dishes was simply heavenly and made my visit a real culinary experience. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service rounded off the evening perfectly. If you're in the area, you definitely shouldn't miss a visit to the Lochmühle!

The food is very tasty and the location right on the stream is also great. Unfortunately, the service wasn't that good during our visit, the service was relatively lackluster and the criticism that the spritzers were without sparkling water (but with tap water) was simply said that this was what it said on the menu. This can be done even better.

The Lochmühle is a lovely restaurant in an excellent location in the Gerberviertel in Ulm. The beer garden is largely covered and protected, which promotes a cozy atmosphere. The dishes were mostly classic German cuisine and were all delicious. Many local specialties can be found on the menu. The meat and fish dishes were all delicious and are definitely recommended. The desserts are also excellent. The outside area is directly on the blue as can be seen in the photo.

With our friends we wanted to taste German cuisine here in Ulm...after a few unsuccessful attempts due to failure to book, we managed to find a place outdoors in this place, thanks also to the friendly and welcoming staff...an excellent dinner with Typical dishes of abundant, quality meat at a good price along with pleasant mugs of beer... congratulations to all the staff

Great location in the fishing district on the Blau with a beautiful outdoor area. The food was good, but we had higher expectations for the price. Unfortunately the dessert was disappointing. Mountain beer on tap is very tasty!

Restaurant with a great location by the stream in the Fischerviertel....beautiful outdoor terrace! Food came very quickly... which is generally not a good sign and was fine... but nothing more: sauerbraten with little taste... spaetzle with it was very tasty. From the breading, pork schnitzel seemed as if it had already been "lying around" prepared... so unfortunately it was more like a chip shop level. So not a recommendation.

Very good, sumptuous, home-style food. Really attentive staff even though the place was completely full. The restaurant itself is very nice, true to the name and rustically furnished.

Eat like your mother eats. We sat outside and despite the light rain, it was a nice atmosphere. The food was good and the portions were more than sufficient. We will be back next time we visit Ulm.

Insanely delicious food. The older lady with curly blonde hair made my stay a disaster. I hope this lady will receive training in dealing with guests soon, I have very rarely experienced something so unfriendly. It's a shame, such employees can ruin the entire company reputation

Extremely poor or better said no service at all, even though there wasn't much going on. We then ate somewhere else. The restaurant next door had great service and delicious food.

We ate dinner there as a group of 6 We were given a table quickly. The table was large, but the seats were a little bit uncomfortable but overly so. We mostly ordered variations of the wiener schnitzel. The normal schnitzel was good, but the Monaco one was absolutely amazing. All in all i cannot recommend it enough.

I can't say anything about the food as we didn't even get the menus. When we arrived there were several free tables without reservation cards. We sat down and waited. After 10-15 minutes, no one came, even though the four waitresses were standing around doing nothing. It was obvious to us that we were being ignored. So the atmosphere was gone. You really don't have to put up with such an impudence...

Quaint, rustic inn in a great location directly on a stream. The food is just as good as the ambience. It is served quickly and tastes great. The waitresses are quite stressed, but do a good job. We can highly recommend it.
