Wonderful, charmingly rustic setting. The food was absolutely impeccable! The service was quick and attentive, and they charmingly and wittily adapted to our fun and lively group dynamic (apologies if we were too loud or even too disruptive ;) ). We were there on October 3rd and found a good spot. The directions were quick. My daughter ordered a pumpkin cream soup, and I ordered a salad with turkey strips and two slices of bread. It was a generous portion and tasted delicious. I paid €35 ​​for both meals and two drinks, including the tip. I thought the price was reasonable.

At the time of this post, the restaurant has a rating of 4.8. Absolutely deserving. We had the Schwabenteller and the "Gaisburger Marsch." Both were excellent. I definitely recommend them.

I went to Forelle with my best friend (as we often do) to enjoy a meal and a great meal. We both agree: it couldn't get any better. Absolutely not. From the fantastic service to the excellent food and drinks, everything is just right for us. Every single time! We can't understand some of the negative reviews at all. And if so, please stay away; we'd be more than happy to take your table! We definitely recommend it to all discerning people with a penchant for the special and a love of detail.

The dishes are quite ordinary and the portions are small but the prices are not cheap.

My first time there, and the food was outstanding. I had the beef fillet with mashed potatoes, and what can I say, it was delicious and tender. I could have used a tablespoon more of the potatoes. A traditional restaurant in a beautiful half-timbered house dating back to the 13th century. Delicious food with refinement. Clearly one of the best restaurants in Ulm in terms of taste.

We tried the trout and the sea bass fillet. They were very fresh and well-cooked. The setting is traditional and small: reservations are recommended.

Lovely location alongside the river, a hard working waitress and an excellent meal made everything perfect. It all made for a wonderful holiday memory.

We waited 20 minutes for a table on a moderately busy day. The staff just kept saying someone would be right there. We left after the fourth time.

During our stroll through the fishing district, we stumbled upon the Zur Forelle restaurant quite by chance. The historic building exudes genuine character. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was beautifully presented and tasted perfect. We had an all-around pleasant evening.

A must-visit in Ulm, as the location in the Fishermen's Quarter is wonderful. The outdoor seating is narrow, with a view of the bridge or along the path leading to the bridge. Inside, the wood paneling reflects the building's age and is full of character. The owner and service are friendly, and the food comes quickly. This time, we were unlucky in some small ways. Bones from the luncheon dish were still on the tablecloth, and the chanterelle soup was almost flavorless because of all the cream. The Tafelspitz tower was as simple as it was delicious. There's nothing wrong with the Hohenstaufenlendchen either—although I find hollandaise a bit un-Swabian.

The food service was decent, but the highlight was the atmosphere and the amazing location near the picturesque houses by the Donau bridges – a very tourist-friendly spot. However, the prices felt a bit steep for the portion sizes, which were quite small. Additionally, the vegan options were minimal and somewhat unconventional.

The Zur Forelle restaurant is idyllically located in Ulm's fishing district. The menu is thankfully not as overstated as some others, and the Swabian specialties aren't as overpowering either. Everything is of high quality, well presented, and very, very tasty. Six of us had an excellent meal here and were glad we made a reservation. Very attentive service! A definite recommendation for anyone in Ulm. When the weather is good, there are also options for seating by the river. Unfortunately, we were here when a storm swept through Ulm, but it's also very cozy inside.

Honestly, it's a more than wonderful restaurant. We had salmon risotto, fish with potatoes, seafood soup, and fettuccine with cheese. Honestly, the taste was amazing, and the reception was great, especially my husband from Italy. May God bless them.

An old and renowned restaurant in Ulm's fishing district. The ceiling is low and crooked. The food comes at a price, but is worth it. Nothing for those on a tight budget, but always something for the good palate. And the quote on the menu "life is too short to eat badly" couldn't be said better.

For our last day of vacation in Ulm we were looking for something special... and found it in the “Forelle”. A really cozy and historically authentic restaurant with an imaginative menu and very friendly service in an old half-timbered house in the Fischerviertel. The fine dishes tasted wonderful and were worth the money.

The food was good so far, but I think the price is too expensive for the portions. But otherwise there is nothing to complain about. We would have liked to have sat more comfortably but it was fine. A hint that there is cinnamon in the dessert would have been good. It's not for everyone Note and also annoying: Dogs are allowed to sit on the bench here, I personally don't think that's okay because I'm allergic to animals and in my opinion dogs (if they're allowed into the restaurant) should stay on the floor Therefore 1 star deducted!

The prices are a bit higher, but the quality is excellent. The drinks could be larger for the price. Some of the dishes (papaya compote with mint) weren't my taste, but that's up to each individual. Friendly service with a small greeting from the kitchen rounded out the experience. Dogs are allowed, which I, as a dog owner, wasn't so happy about. It's still about hygiene and people with allergies.

If you stick with the classics (Forelle Ulmer Art, Forelle Müllerin, Stew Geisburger Marsch) the food is excellent. The atmosphere in this ancient Ulm house is upscale, the service is correct, and you keep great memories. In summer you can dine outside, on the small bridge near the restaurant. Splendid.

Highly recommended, we came across it by chance. The staff is very nice and accommodating and the food was very good. The price-performance ratio was completely fine for me. The way to the toilet is a bit difficult and the indoor restaurant is unfortunately difficult or impossible to reach with a wheelchair. However, this is due to the age of the building.

It is no longer the trout as we used to know it. You notice the change of ownership. The portion has become smaller and it actually doesn't taste like it used to. ☹️We also thought the side salad for €8.50 was very high. Packaged green salad was used for this and the variations (potato salad, for example, was unfortunately no longer included) + the quantity were not justified for the price. 185€ for four people. Unfortunately the price/performance was no longer right for us.

Not playful or "overambitious" but just really well done. There were three of us. I had skrei, my colleagues had steak and ox cheeks. All three dishes were great! The dessert was also great! We wanted to have dinner in a high-quality restaurant this evening for a special occasion. As foreigners, we particularly liked the Fischerviertel, so we ultimately decided on the Restaurant Zur Forelle. We were not disappointed in any way. The ambience of the very old house with narrow doors and low ceilings, the funny, friendly service, including towards our German Shepherd, and the visually and tastefully great food were a great end to Ulm.

The food was unique and the service fantastic. A bit small but very comfortable. Tall people have to keep their heads down a bit. Always worth a visit, reservation recommended.

There were three of us and we ate trout blue, trout Müllerin style and trout Ulmer style. All 3 were very good!!!

Highest respect to the chef for that. Wow.... Now unfortunately we come to the bad. The service was a disaster. An opinion is always relative and everyone judges it differently, but for me it's just aloof, arrogant and unfriendly. At the end, as it says on the menu, we wanted an aperitif. Then we order wine/Cuba etc. for 9 people. In response: Quote: "we are a restaurant and not a bar!" Then don't write it on the card!!!! Otherwise, if it weren't for her, highly recommended.
