Friendly and fast service, nice and cozy atmosphere, the venison goulash was overcooked, little meat, lots of sauce, and in terms of taste it could have been beef; the price was not satisfactory.

The food was very good. The waiter, however, was a negative. He had a very harsh and unfriendly tone, was very bossy, and constantly complained about how busy he was and what else he was supposed to do. It left a rather negative impression.

Murder mystery dinner, great location on the ground floor, but the basement where the dinner took place could be nicer. Service was good, but the food could definitely be better! Sorry, no repeat visit.

It was perfect in every way. A friendly welcome, good and attentive service, and good food. Despite it being busy, we were able to have a pleasant conversation. We'd gladly come back.

I was there with colleagues for our Christmas party. The service was reprimanding and harsh, something you don't experience since school. The food was unfortunately not good value for money at all: hardly any main course was under €28, the quality was rather mediocre, and the portions were small. Only the ambiance was very appealing.

I attended a murder mystery dinner event at the restaurant on Thursday, December 4th, 2025. We sat in a vaulted room, and the food and service were good. Despite the large number of guests, service was quite quick. We had a fun and very enjoyable evening.

We like to eat here, the service is good, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is great.

The restaurant is really lovely, the waiters are very friendly and deserve every penny of their tips. They take good care of the tables, ordering extras is no problem, and the food arrived incredibly quickly. The food was delicious and the portions were generous.

On a free weekend in Ulm, I stumbled upon the Krone by chance. What luck! I had an excellent roast beef with onions (!) and very tasty drinks in a cozy atmosphere. I stayed much longer than the meal lasted, and that was a good thing, because the staff made my evening truly special. I'd like to thank them for that and look forward to returning to the Krone on my next visit to Ulm (definitely to the bar again 😃)! Best regards, Michael

Very good, if slightly unusual, service, very friendly. The roast beef was okay, the dumplings great, the onions convenience food...the vegetarian Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli) good, but stingy, but the non-alcoholic Goldochsen beer was excellent.

After arriving late, my wife and I went here for dinner. The menu is extensive, and even with the Swabian specialties, it's difficult to choose. We decided on the butcher's ravioli with potato salad, which we wanted to share. They arrived promptly, already divided by the kitchen onto two plates, yet beautifully presented! So, the photo I uploaded here is HALF the portion! I love this warm potato salad with broth, and the piece of ravioli (made from the originally longer butcher's ravioli) was absolutely delicious! The service was very friendly and always courteous, and always promptly brought a new wheat beer to our table.

The food is good! The owner is very friendly and pleasant. The service is excellent. Everyone makes an effort. The atmosphere is comfortable. For Ulm's oldest restaurant, the combination of tradition and modern design is a success.

We were guests at the Krone with a group of 43 people on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Our initial contact beforehand was with a very dedicated member of staff (Daniel), who very friendly and competently suggested initial options for our planned evening event. Further coordination took place in personal contact with the Krone's owner, Mr. Mike Diener. Together, we very constructively discussed a "small menu" and our special requests for the course of our planned event (a champagne reception for the ladies in the beer garden beforehand, while the gentlemen had a one-hour gathering in the vaulted cellar, where the three-course menu variations from the small menu were subsequently served to everyone). The implementation was then excellent. The service for our group, organized and implemented very professionally by Daniel, was highly appreciated by everyone, and the friendly service team provided our group with excellent food and drinks. The quality and taste of all the dishes from the small menu were very good – everyone enjoyed it immensely. So, at this point, we would like to once again say a big, heartfelt “thank you” from all of us to the “Krone” team!

A wonderfully cozy restaurant with plenty of comfortable benches. The service was very friendly and attentive. The two young gentlemen were very attentive to our needs. The food was super delicious (cold cucumber soup or potato and cucumber salad were incredibly tasty). Many dishes are also available in half portions, ideal for seniors and those who can't eat much. Excellent value for money. We'd gladly return :-)

This week, we were at the Krone in Ulm with a group of nine. I had originally reserved for six people, but three more joined us at short notice. The team was very flexible and made it possible to accommodate us despite being at full capacity – albeit at two tables. Thank you very much for that! Our service was excellent: The young man who served us was attentive, charming, and had a great sense of humor. Our orders were taken promptly, the drinks and food arrived quickly, and everyone enjoyed it without exception. The only criticism (hence the ambiance deduction!): The noise level in the fully occupied dining room was very loud. This made it difficult, especially for our two older guests, to follow the conversations at the table. I'm aware that the historic architecture imposes limitations here, but with targeted acoustic measures, the experience could certainly be made even more pleasant. Overall, a successful evening with delicious food, great service, and a beautiful ambiance – we'd love to come back!

I hadn't heard of the Krone before, but I'm thrilled with the atmosphere and selection. A passion fruit and mint spritz in the courtyard is a must-do in Ulm ⭐️

I've been looking forward to visiting the Krone for a long time! Fortunately, we were also lucky with the weather and were able to sit in the charming historic courtyard. The food was excellent, the service was very friendly and attentive, and all in all, we had a wonderful visit! Personally, I can recommend the Krone to anyone who enjoys modern Swabian cuisine and wants to enjoy a beautiful ambiance! PS: Can a visit to the Krone also be combined with a sightseeing tour through Ulm's Fischerviertel? :)

I happened to be walking by and went in because I was hungry and thought I'd give it a try. I was completely surprised by how incredibly delicious the food was. The couple who own it are incredibly nice, and the servers are also very attentive. Absolutely recommended if you're ever in Ulm or coming from there!

I don't know what's changed in the last 1.5 years, but the schnitzel unfortunately doesn't taste the same as it used to. Unfortunately, there are hardly any good places to get a good schnitzel in Ulm anyway, so I used to enjoy coming to the Krone and recommended it to many friends. Unfortunately, the food here is now only mediocre. The price is therefore overpriced for the taste and quality, in my opinion. The service is attentive and fast, but this was still my last chance to try the Krone. What a shame.

Beautiful old walls with a pleasant beer garden. There were 10 of us, and almost everyone was satisfied with the traditional pub food.

I went for an authentic schnitzel and asked if it was homemade. I yelled "yes" loudly, and what did I get? A frozen schnitzel. Two very small pieces for €28.50. Not good. The homemade potato salad was like mashed potatoes. Completely soft. My husband's rump steak was delicious. I'm willing to pay a lot, but it has to be good. The price-quality ratio isn't good. The staff was very friendly, though. Not recommended!!

This is the oldest restaurant in Ulm – and it has a very special, cozy atmosphere. The attentive chef and friendly staff make you feel like you're staying with friends. What's especially nice is that dogs are welcome and feel comfortable and free too – a huge plus for us. The dishes are delicious; everything we tried was outstanding. And the dessert was simply heavenly! We'll definitely be back.

Excellent experience on a Saturday evening without a reservation: we were welcomed very warmly and were able to get a table quickly as soon as customers had vacated theirs. Very reasonable prices. Good traditional dishes, generously served. Very good address given by our hotel (Ulmer Münster Hotel).

Great restaurant – highly recommended! The service was excellent – very attentive and friendly. The chef himself took care of the guests and was very welcoming. We celebrated a birthday here and had a wonderful time. Our dogs also felt at home, which made us very happy. We were particularly impressed by the fact that the chef took my allergies into account and adjusted the ingredients accordingly. The food was incredibly delicious! The menu offered perspective which in my case did not work out. I was travelling alone and was placed at a table under the stairs…. The schnitzel was not entirely to my taste. The waiter offered to serve a side dish which was friendly and solution-oriented. I declined this whereupon I was offered a drink. Neatly resolved. The courtyard is nice to sit at, at least if you are not placed under a steel emergency staircase and the dirt of the people using that staircase falls on you…

We've known the Krone for a long time, and the food was always good. Since the change of ownership, nothing has been the same, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But in this case, it was. The chef certainly doesn't taste his food; the zander had to die twice, the pancake soup was way too salty, the asparagus salad wasn't really an asparagus salad, but a salad decorated with a few pieces of asparagus, and the asparagus soup was a thick, inedible mush. The service is very attentive, but if the food isn't edible, it's no use. We won't be coming back. It's a real shame, considering the friendly service and the great atmosphere.

We celebrated there with about 20 guests a few years ago. It was a fantastic event, and the food was excellent. Everyone said so. We felt very well looked after, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great. Many thanks again to the owners; we'll be happy to do it again.

So honestly: If you're in Ulm and don't go to the Krone, you're missing out! The Swabian cuisine there is absolutely top-notch – classic, made with love, and simply delicious. Whether it's Maultaschen (Maultaschen), Kässpätzle (Kässpätzle), or Zwiebelrostbraten (onion roast beef), everything is perfect. But now to the real star of the evening: Daniel. The guy is amazing! Super friendly, relaxed, yet totally professional – you can just tell he loves his job. He really made our evening, was always there to help, had great recommendations, and delivered the whole thing with a charming, witty manner that's so rare. If all the waiters were like Daniel, people would be twice as eager to go out to eat. Thanks to him, the Krone not only has good food, but also a truly feel-good atmosphere. Simply top-notch – we'll definitely be back. And hopefully with Daniel at the table again!

There were four of us and we had asparagus in all its variations and a Wiener Schnitzel. Everything was delicious, although the asparagus could have been cooked a couple of minutes longer. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere in one of the oldest inns was quaint and appropriate.

Murder mystery dinner on May 8, 2025 – a "criminal" outrage. In the cold, uncomfortable basement, with lukewarm food (reheated roast pork, cold sauerkraut, and awful instant sauce), the atmosphere was utterly lacking. The soup and dessert were okay, but couldn't salvage the meal. The performance of the play had nothing to do with suspense or a crime story; it was simply stupid. All in all, a waste of money for two people – the service and price didn't match up in any way. Once and never again, not recommended.

Nice old restaurant, well decorated. The food was very tasty and the staff was attentive and very friendly. The smell of grease that remained on the clothes after the visit was unpleasant. Maybe the exhaust in the kitchen should be checked. Otherwise very nice restaurant

We went there for dinner as a married couple with our two adult children. For dinner we had onion roast, lentils with spaetzle, Swabian platter (pork with dumplings and cheese spaetzle and asparagus with rum steak. The dish with asparagus had 5 asparagus spears. Various drinks complemented the meal. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the quality of the food. The very good service is particularly noteworthy. We will definitely come back and pass on this extremely good experience to our friends. A huge compliment to the team.

We were there on Sunday evening and the atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed. We immediately felt at home, very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Food was very tasty. The waiter was super super friendly and relaxed, really good quick service. Due to a food intolerance, we were offered a great solution on our own initiative. Great! A small menu with very good food. The onion roast beef is sensational. It's cooked exactly as ordered and is a decent size. The Wiener Schnitzel is also excellent. The prices for children's portions are comparatively low. Very good wine selection. The overall ambiance is very harmonious. The service is extremely courteous and attentive. You always want to eat like this.

This is the second time I've been there, the food and service were always very good, and the atmosphere is good. I chose something from the monthly menu.

Very nice and attentive service and beautiful location. Unfortunately the food didn't score. Wiener Schnitzel was probably fried as it was dripping in oil and potato salad was unfortunately tasteless. My companion also had to season the spaetzle with sauce (meatloaf). For me personally the price-performance ratio wasn't right.

Were there for the Christmas party. All in all too expensive. Vegetarian dish cauliflower, honestly you can do more with it for this price. Half a blanched cauliflower, lightly seasoned, on the plate with a few leaves of arugula, overcooked peppers and beans, 4 cherry tomatoes and on top some green sauce, pesto or whatever - that's bland food in the truest sense! You can offer that in a clinic but certainly not in a restaurant. Chestnut soup was ok and so was the Kaiserschmarren.

Abbiamo preso birra del luogo e due secondi, una cotoletta viennese, ed un Lucioperca adorabile. Alla fine per dolce la panna cotta con lamponi più buona di sempre. Una menzione particolare al personale, attento alle nostre esigenze nonostante la difficoltà della lingua.
