We spent two evenings at the Fässlewirt in Sasbachwalden and felt completely at ease each time. The food was delicious and freshly prepared; you can tell it's cooked with love. We especially appreciated how friendly and dog-loving the owner is – our little dachshund was warmly welcomed. The whole atmosphere is cozy and rustic, exactly what you imagine an evening in the Black Forest to be like. Highly recommended!

We go to the Fässlewirt at least once every time we visit Sasbachwalden. The food here is truly top-notch, and the drinks are also excellent. The service leaves nothing to be desired, and we always enjoy coming here, whether alone or with friends. For us, it's one of the best restaurants in the entire area.

We had a delicious meal here. My girlfriend had a well-filled vegetarian flammkuchen with wonderfully fresh parsley. I had the lamb shank, which came with a fresh starter, perfectly roasted potatoes, a red wine sauce, and some vegetables. Delicious. We're curious about the desserts.

We had dinner here twice on our Black Forest tour. Simply divine! Unfortunately, today we're heading to Feldberg in the rain and cold!!!!! But we've chosen this lovingly run restaurant as our favorite in Sasbachwalden and will definitely be back next time. A very nice, cozy restaurant. The duck salad was delicious, and the duck was cooked to perfection, simply delicious. The portion sizes were more than generous. The service was very attentive, courteous, and friendly.

Restaurant "Zum Fässlewirt" – a truly relaxing place The cozy decor immediately catches your eye upon entering – lots of wood, warm colors, and thoughtful details. You immediately feel welcome. The service is warm, attentive, and always with a smile. The food? Simply amazing – homemade, subtly seasoned, and truly delicious. An all-around harmonious experience that makes you want to return again!

It's a shame. I'd already read that they were very strict with their hours. I respect their working hours, but I don't understand what happened to us. We arrived at 7:40 p.m. Google says they were open until 9:30 p.m. I got off to ask if they had a table, and they told me they did. I went to get the kids, and when the four of us showed up (five minutes later), they told us the kitchen was already closed. Even so, there were a couple of couples arriving at that time. They should correct the hours, and if they're not going to accept more customers, let me know; that's why I asked.

The restaurant was packed, and I was lucky enough to snag a table on the terrace. For starters, I was served six exquisite Roman snails – in a fantastic sauce and in a really (!) hot container. The warm trout fillet was absolutely to my taste, and the sumptuous salad was truly VERY lovingly and generously garnished with a variety of fresh fruit. And finally, the crowning glory was the Irish coffee – definitely worth the sin, since Gaishelle is just around the corner, waiting to work off some exercise ;)

If I could have given 6 stars I would have! Top service, attentive to customers, delicious meals with only fresh products from the surrounding area, fast service, very good value for money and generous plates! The waitress had many little attentions for us. Beautiful terrace and parking. There is nothing to complain about!

This restaurant, with its extremely friendly and attentive staff, is a wonderful surprise for both the palate and the eye. If you don't want to have something to eat "right away" when you're starving, but want to arrive and enjoy something "phenomenally delicious" in peace and quiet, then this is the place for you. Since everything was reserved, we asked nicely and were immediately seated at a nice, designated table. The selected dishes, sausage salad and the "Farmer's Favorite" salad, were truly an unexpected, delicious treat. The prices are also appropriately "price"-"value" for such excellent quality ingredients and the artfully decorated plates. Here, you truly eat with your eyes :-D . The Farmer's Favorite salad is a true firework of aromatic facets and a taste experience, as is "Charly*'s Punch," which gradually reveals its ingredients. So, if you appreciate pleasure and aren't looking for something quick to fill your food hatch, you've come to the right place.

Perfectly located right next to the parking lot at the lower entrance to the Gaishöll Waterfalls. Quaint, cozy, family-run, and very friendly. Dogs welcome. Great value for money. They put a lot of thought into their customers, the selection, and the presentation of the food. Highly recommended!

All in all, a fantastic experience! The Christmas decorations were really beautiful and the food was excellent. There were six of us, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The restaurant is also very child-friendly, with toys and a tree stand. We'll definitely be back!

I celebrated my 50th here with 15 people and was absolutely thrilled. I had already read the good reviews but my expectations were exceeded many times. The quality of the food, the fast, loving service, the price-performance ratio. All the guests loved it and I even had personalized signs and menus on the table. For people from Freiburg, such a service is completely extraordinary. It was May 2nd, the resta was busy but the food came very quickly and was delicious.

A wonderful restaurant with excellent service, unrivaled hospitality and absolutely delicious food! So I was there two days in a row. The restaurant itself is beautifully furnished, rustic, typical of the country, but decorated with a loving hand. After looking at it for a while, you discover something new in every corner, be it one or two doorknobs or the little legendary animals on the pedestal. The owners' courteous nature is also reflected in the toilets; women can really feel more than comfortable here. From hygiene products to hairspray to perfume, you can help yourself in the event of an emergency - or just because :) The food was of course also very good. I had a tarte flambée that was incredibly good and a typical sausage salad on the second visit. I can warmly recommend both. If I go on vacation to the Black Forest again, I'll definitely come back here :)

Once again not disappointed, there were 6 of us there, beautiful setting, beautiful Christmas decorations and attentive staff.

Spontaneous stop for three after a hike. We would be greeted warmly and escorted to the table. Everything about the food was just right. Delicious starter salads, I had goose breast with potato dumplings and red cabbage, my companions had sauerbraten. We were all thrilled by the very well prepared and tasty dishes. The service was attentive and friendly. On the way out we got one or two kitchen tips from the boss on how to prepare the two dishes for home. All in all a nice experience at the Fäßlewirt. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area again.

We were there for the first time on Saturday evening. We were treated great in advance because the menu was sent to us via WhatsApp! Everything was great on site. The service was super nice, the food was absolutely delicious. Okay, maybe the schnitzel would also be something as an adult portion, but that's complaining at a high level :) We'd love to come back!

Excellent food and a very pleasant atmosphere. Price performance absolutely okay. We felt extremely comfortable there and so did our dogs, they were greeted with treats.

The food was delicious and the service was good, they were lovely people. If you want to eat here, take into account that it is an hour wait until you receive your food. This is because of the staff shortage. If you have the time, it is worth the wait. The atmosphere was cosy, warm, and romantic. Would recommend making a reservation . Ps extra compliments for when you go to the toilet. Loved the peaceful bird and nature sound, the funny doorknob, and all the extras that were available.

The food is very delicious, the presentation is very careful, you cannot miss the desserts, the service is very fast compared to other restaurants in the area. The waitresses were very friendly, we were able to communicate in English without any problem. We had a lot of flies on our table in the summer but apparently it's normal here.

We came later in the evening without a reservation hoping to get a table. We got lucky and were seated at what looked like the only remaining table on the patio. The service was excellent even though the staff were quite busy. We needed an extra minute to decide which meals to order and the staff were very patient. The food was excellent. One of us had a salad, which seemed very fresh. The meal was a good size, filling but not too heavy. One of us had the lamb, which was cooked perfectly and the sauces/sides were excellent. We ordered our meals with low salt, as we find most restaurants in Germany use more salt than we are used to, and it was perfect. We had to wait a little bit for our meals, but we thought the timing was great for how busy they were. We thought the prices were very reasonable for what we got, especially compared to another restaurant we went to. Overall; our compliments to the kitchen staff and servers.

Absolute recommendation! We like to go out to eat a lot. However, I have rarely seen such a good salad plate. (Unfortunately my wife ordered it). My Flammkuchen was also terrific. Big praise to the chef❤️ I am also deeply impressed by the beautiful bonsais and the ambience. If we are there again, we will definitely come back. Best regards

Unfortunately the menu was changed during my stay. Guests who arrived later could suddenly order spare ribs. These were not listed on my menu. I find it very unfortunate.

Came here with a mix of Germans, English, and Irish. The service was appalling. We came in with a rather large group and the disgust when asking for a table was very apparent. We wouldn't have minded if they had said sorry we can't accommodate you but we were seated outside and said it was fine. The waitress treated us with the maximum level of rudeness a person can give. It took a long time to order and she snapped at every chance she got. After an hour we ordered and two hours later the food started to come out. The food was slammed down onto the table so hard it jumped off the plate. When asking about how long the rest of the food was going to be politely, the woman told us very rudely to sit down and go away. I think this waitress was unfortunately the manager. The food itself was very nice if a little expensive. The portion sizes seemed reasonable. If you can put up with being treated like dirt, a great place for food.

It's nice, but eat something before u come here. They are the slowest restaurant where I have ever been. Serving sparkling water takes 15min and the place is not crowded.

After a successful tour to the Gaishöll waterfalls and a successful crossing of part of the Schnapsbrunnen circular hiking trail, we stopped at the Fässlewirt to finish off the tour. It is a beautifully landscaped, rustic and lovingly furnished restaurant with a great terrace. The staff is very friendly. The food was really delicious and we would love to come back. But it should be reserved in advance. There are parking spaces in front of the restaurant.

The quality of the food is top, as is the service. However, we won't get enough here. The pasta portions are tiny, even though this is a cheap item. I would have loved to have had a second Rösti with the trout; given the price, I would have found that to be appropriate. Our opinion is that everything in the restaurant has to be right, not just the service and taste, but also how we want to be full. Then why can’t there be a concept with variable portions or building blocks? We are slim, nutrition-conscious and sporty people. We don't want to gorge ourselves. But after a day in the Black Forest, you can also have a portion to fill you up in the evening!

On Friday we had tarte flambée and a vegetarian salad. The tarte flambée had a very crispy base and was very tasty. The salad was super big, even with strawberries and apples, olives and different types of lettuce. We were very satisfied and I also found the quiet atmosphere in the dining room very pleasant.

Very good food with great attention to detail & super nice service. We had the sirloin steak with vegetables, bacon beans and fries with a side salad. The sirloin steak was cooked to perfection and super tender. Perfectly rounded off with the different sauces and dips. The variety of the side salad was surprising - each herb was dressed separately and had its own taste without seeming overly seasoned. Everything harmonized perfectly (from the bacon cabbage to the carrots to the decorative strawberries). The dessert was also a highlight. The chocolate cake with cherry sorbet and cream was reminiscent of an innovative interpretation of the Black Forest cake. The furnishings are very cozy and have their own charm. We would definitely come back and have no suggestions for improvement.

The food is excellent (highly recommend the sirloin steak, it was 💯, also comes with salad, fries, and green beans rolled in bacon). Having in mind everything is included, prices seem ok, even though on first glance it seemed a bit pricy. But the food was definitely worth it. The service was great and the atmosphere was very cosy.

The People: Friendly and one can feel the hospitality of a genuine 5 star resto. Very commendable. The Food: Speachless. I ordered Buttered Snails with garlic and parseley, I love it. No bad after taste and it was somehow marinated? Taste really intense in a good way. Got also Argentinian Steak with caramelized onion and grilled side vegetables. The Steak is cooked to perfection and with good aged quality, it delivers an exquisite taste. The Vegetable sides are cooked to its goodness. The Salad that comes to it has a very dressing that compliments the freshness of the ingredients. The Price: Reasonable and very competitive. For quality dishes they served, it is in its acceptable price cap. Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Perfect Score. Will definitely come here again and very recommendable place for tourist.

Urig eingerichtetes Restaurant. Keine Riesige Auswahl an Essen, dafür überzeugen die Speisen die es gibt. Die Nachtische sind der Wahnsinn. Muss auf alle Fälle probiert werden.

Nous avons pu profiter du restaurant en groupe. Après une ballade sur le sentier du schnaps, Charly nous a tous régalés. Depuis la grande terrasse nous avons pu profiter du point de vue magnifique. Amis marcheurs n’hésitez pas.

Haben Salatteller und Flammkuchen bestellt. Der Salatteller war sehr schmackhaft und vielseitig. Dekorativ auch für das Auge. Der Flammkuchen Boden war sehr dünn und knusprig, wie es sein sollte. Die Zutaten waren gleichmäßig verteilt. Der Nachtisch Flammkuchen mit Apfel und Calvados war ein Genuß. Auch hier fürs Auge. Alles in allem ein gelungener Abend. Der Service war hervorragend, obwohl das Lokal sehr gut besucht war, hat das Personal Augen und Ohren beim Kunden. Macht weiter so 👍

Celà fait de nombreuses années que nous venons dans ce restaurant et nous n'avons jamais été déçus. C'est un endroit tout à fait ravissant, aussi bien à l'intérieur du restaurant que sur la terrasse. L'ambiance y est très chaleureuse et les plats sont succulents et merveilleusement présentés. Que ce soit à deux ou en famille, jamais de fausse note ! Un grand merci à Karl, Cécile et leur sympathique équipe !

Wir waren am Samstag im Fäßlewirt zum Essen. Wir sind auf der schönen Terrasse mit tollen Ausblick gesessen und haben sehr lecker gegessen. Als erstens gab es einen Salat und danach hatte ich einen Sauerbraten und Manu Zander auf Nudeln. Beides war sehr gut zubereitet. Die Bedienung war jeder Zeit freundlich und aufmerksam. Zum Nachtisch gab es noch einen Kaiserschmarren. Wir waren Rundum zufrieden und kommen wieder.
