The location is nice, but the food saves you from starvation—nothing more. Unfortunately, I can't say anything better here. The schnitzels looked the same and were probably frozen, and the food came out extremely quickly. The spaetzle were reheated in the pan and overcooked instead of being fresh. My partner's fries from the otherwise identical dish were nothing special... sigh...

Stopped at this very scenic location after seeing signs it was serving coffee and Black Forest Gateaux. After much calling someone came out to attend. He was not aware of the signs by the road but agreed to serve us. We received the coffees but no cake to accompany although it was on a counter right by us. Drank the coffee before it went cold. Went to pay, that's when he realised he forgot to bring the cake. Pity because it looked delicious. Lovely gardens and tables from where to enjoy fantastic scenery.

Nice place. The staff was clearly overworked. The food was average but good. Cleanliness was also OK.

I am very disappointed with my schnitzel, what kind of meal was that? You can't offer such food to customers and no one accommodated me in any case, I had to pay the full price, never again.

Overall, OK. Friendly hosts. The sliding door rattled when closing, and the TV channels weren't set up.

Magnificent terrace, extraordinary view

Friendly hotel. Very friendly welcome... even though the gentleman was alone that day... a little stressed because of the crowd... but always with a smile. The room was a little smaller than described on booking.com... no channels on the TV (explanations in the morning... out of adjustment). Good food. But things quickly became available. German breakfast buffet. Decor with curiosities to see. The only negative for me... it's a shared terrace and not one of the rooms. Too bad this wasn't mentioned. But I'll leave it on a positive note... because of the great setting... and the very friendly staff even in the midst of stress.

A truly warm welcome: a super Italian host awaited us! Spacious room, large bathroom with access to a terrace with an enchanting view. The mattress, unfortunately, was too soft for our taste. Breakfast was typical and absolutely in line with the price.

Highly recommended for a short trip. Very friendly service. The breakfast was plentiful and very good. I would come again.

Coffee with Black Forest cake was very good

Can't understand the reviews at all. The view is great - no question about it. But the menu doesn't match the online menu. We ordered the schnitzel and were surprised why there weren't two on the plate as described online - "Yes, that's because they're two small ones!" Erm... even the "large" one was not justified at all for the price. By the way, the spaetzle were bought, boiled and drowned in butter. The breading was red and the sauce was already mixed and served like ready-made broth. I'm really sorry but the meal doesn't deserve €19 at all. I go to a restaurant for good food and am happy to spend my €20 on it, but then please quality over quantity. It's summer... why don't they prepare the terrace nicely? All the chairs are positioned in such a way that at first you think it's closed. The tables are scratched - no problem - put a tablecloth on and that's fine. Brooms, buckets and the like can be put away, right? Not a great communication from the restaurant... just a "Hello," and then they stand there and stare at us... they seem unsympathetic, and everything looks so unloved. I don't know if we're having/had a bad day, but we were seriously disappointed with the food. It also makes you wonder what the rooms would be like, or whether we'd generally stay there for a few more days. We can't comment on that, but we wouldn't come back. Sorry.

We stayed at this hotel some time ago. The location is beautiful, and the room initially looked nice. Unfortunately, we didn’t properly check the room before heading out for dinner. When we returned and got ready for bed, we discovered hairs in the bed. This made us feel uncomfortable, and we just wanted clean sheets. When we tried to speak to someone, the reception desk was empty. We called the hotel’s number and reached the manager, since no staff are present in the building at night. The manager was extremely rude and dismissive of our complaint. All we asked for were clean sheets, but he refused to help us. The next day, we spoke to the manager in person. We had an argument and je even threatened to call the police if we didn’t leave. We demanded a refund, which we eventually received—but the entire experience was highly unprofessional.

We had dinner at the Schwarzwaldperle in Brandmatt last night – and it was simply fantastic! As soon as we arrived, we were impressed by the cozy atmosphere: the fireplace was on and created a super cozy atmosphere. To eat: I had a Swabian onion roast with homemade potato salad - the meat was fried to perfection, simply delicious! My friend chose lentils with butter spaetzle and was equally thrilled. We also enjoyed a glass of wine and an Aperol - all in all, a thoroughly successful evening. The service was absolutely top: friendly, attentive and warm. A real recommendation for everyone who appreciates good food, a warm atmosphere and first-class service! We'll definitely be back!

The restaurant is not recommended. The onion roast was ridiculously small after the (no exaggeration) 1cm thick fat rind was cut away. The meat in general was not of good quality at a reasonable price. And it wasn't an isolated case because we had the onion roast roast three times. The spaetzle were relatively dry and you didn't notice any "butter" spaetzle. The fries were the best. The sauce appeared to be homemade but had just as much fat as the meat and was more of a fatty broth than a sauce. There are by far really better addresses, even in the immediate vicinity. The service was okay, friendly if a bit sloppy.

The beds are not good. The restaurant not always open or limited food. The breakfast is reasonable. Definitely won't go back again. The location is very nice, but that's all. So no success.

Pros: The location, the view, the (only?) employee, the coziness of the dining room with a fireplace. Neg.: The cleanliness of one of the two booked rooms, the lack of privacy due to sliding doors in the bathroom, the coldness of the dining room (without a fireplace), the fact that not even the reduced menu was available in its entirety. One employee is simply not enough, even if they were almost perfect.

Very tasty, cozy restaurant and friendly service. Location to the ski areas is also great. I can only recommend it!

Unfortunately, the restaurant couldn't convince us, which was primarily due to a complete understaffing in service. The (only) waitress tried what she could, but the rush couldn't be managed (kudos to the waitress, she tried to save the situation). First and foremost, we complain that in this situation it would have been necessary to leave some tables unoccupied so that at least the guests could have been satisfied at the remaining tables. Then the economics just have to take a back seat for a day. The view from the terrace, on the other hand, was great, finally pure sunshine again, while it has been foggy in the valley for days.

Were there for a short hiking holiday in late autumn. Loving and rustically furnished accommodation in a very quiet atmosphere. Service and hosts very, very accommodating. We felt very comfortable! The view from the breakfast room and terrace from the room is phenomenal! Food also great. I only found the economy double room to be a bit too small. Since we were only there to sleep it was ok, but for a longer stay I would choose a larger room.

We had a fantastic stay. Made to feel really welcome. Our room was spotless. It opened up onto a shared balcony with views that were awesome. The food we had Wild Boar Goulash and Venison Goulash....lovely. The sweet we had a Black Forest ice cream take on a gateau.....again lovely. Would stay again!

Food is amazing and service wonderful, great with children and speak some English. Stayed nearby so came up for dinner.

Small room at a low price in an excellent location with a breathtaking view over the Rhine Valley near Offenburg/Strasbourg from the large terrace. Super nice and attentive management, delicious food. Free parking space in front of the door.

Excellent food - highly recommend the beef broth with herb pancakes, the steak/turkey with noodles and the Black Forest gateaux! They were very welcoming and we were even able to watch the England/Switzerland football match! Check out the amazing cuckoo clock by the bar.

I had one in the restaurant today “Swabian onion roast”. After eating it I had stomach cramps. A piece of meat like this that is mixed and not properly prepared can actually only leave the kitchen one way: in the trash can for disposal. Serving something like that to guests is a bit outrageous. The waitress didn't really respond to our complaint and just laughed when I pointed it out to her. The ambience on the terrace is ok - maybe a bit old. I can't recommend the restaurant to anyone. I refer to the picture that I also posted

I had dinner there with my husband today. He had the “Swabian onion roast” and I had schnitzel with spaetzle. My meal was okay, but the "Swabian onion roast" was really not enjoyable at all... The meat was very mixed and not cooked properly... it spoiled both of our appetites. Unfortunately, when we mentioned this to the waiter, we were only laughed at... It's a shame because the location of the restaurant is really nice.

Beautiful location, beautiful view. But we had booked 3 weeks in advance via booking.com. We were told a day in advance that the hotel would be closed on Mondays. This was not mentioned anywhere and the restaurant was also closed. It is very strange to arrive in an empty hotel and not even have anything to drink. The breakfast in the morning is okay. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the owner, but he did not listen and only defended himself that he did not want to argue and we simply had to pay the maximum amount. There was a top hotel/reataurant a little further away.

Our favorite place for celebrations. Delicious food, friendly service, a beautiful winter garden and affordable prices. What more do you want? We have been here for all sorts of occasions for several years and feel comfortable every time.

The location is great, the service is good... just a bit out of the way and therefore sometimes less tried/better to ask/call about the daily closing time. The food is good!

Wir kamen an , wurden nicht freundlich empfangen , Restaurant ist über die Wintermonate geschlossen wurde uns gesagt! Zimmer in einem schlechten Zustand Schimmel im Bad und auch an den Fenstern im schlafbereich . Bett nicht frisch..... Alles sehr staubig und schmutzig.!!!

Eine grandiose Lage mit Blick ins Tal! Die Terrasse ist ein Traum und von unserem Zimmer aus direkt zu betreten. Die Zimmer sind eingerichtet im Schwarzwald Stil und einfach schön. Unser Bad war sehr großzügig und alles sehr gepflegt und sauber. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und aufs Zimmer begleitet. Toller Service. Auch am Abend im Restaurant alles lecker. Der Hirschgulasch war sehr gut. Und ein süßer Flammkuchen zum Dessert grandios. Wir kommen wieder!

Eingekehrt zur Mittagszeit anlässlich einer Cabriotour durch den Schwarzwald. Wir saßen auf der Außenterrasse. Der Blick ist toll, der Rest eine Frechheit. Bedienung langsam und unfreundlich. Das bestellte Essen, Putensteak + Pommes sowie Flammkuchen waren eine Zusammenstellung von Fertigprodukten, Inklusive 2 Alkoholfreie Weizen insgesamt 40€ bezahlt, Essen wie in einer Pommenbude in der dunkelsten Ecke . Fettig, tranige Pommes, durchgekochtes Putensteck, Tütensoße. Flammkuchen ...da sind die uns bekannten Fertigprodukte in der Tiefkühltheke besser. Man erwartet keinen kulinarischen Hochgenuss sondern einfach handwerklich ordentliches Essen, nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Der Laden lebt von der Sicht in das Tal sowie " Biker Welcome". Einmal und nie wieder, aber anscheinend gibt es genug neue Kunden die jedes Wochenende kommen und auf das Außenambiente reinfallen.

Das italienisch sprechende Personal ist sehr freundlich und agil, trotzdem entspannt. Note 1. Das Essen war -- gemessen am Preis -- sehr gut. Ich hatte frische Forelle, nach Müllerin Art. Besser geht nicht.

We loved this restaurant so much, we came 3 times during our 5 days stay. The food is great with delicious local wines and beers. The best part is the staff, super friendly and attentive. We strongly recommend this place!

El lugar tiene unas vistas fantásticas. Es un hotel familiar y la familia que lo lleva son muy simpáticos, las habitaciones muy cómodas y acogedoras. El lugar es muy tranquilo no hay problemas para aparcar. Eramos 4 matrimonio con mis dos hijas adolescentes y teníamos una habitación que se comunicaba. Nos alojamos en julio de 2018.

Nous avions réservé pour une demi pension et ce ne fut pas respecté par l'Hotel car nous devions payer à chaque fois et les menus ne comprenaient pas de dessert

First things first. The view of the dining area is mesmerizing so there is that. Second, I ordered the “Gegrilltes rumpsteak” and it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! The homemade butter she makes is extraordinary and even the fries tastes good. I fed my whole senses in this place. On the top of that, the host is really nice and was very helpful.

After a long driving we had a one night stop in the hotel. Mr Bruno, his lady and their dog Baloo were welcoming us from the beginning. They made us feel so welcomed and made sure we have everything we needed. Room is lovely and very cleaned. All building looks very lovely and have amazing atmosphere. Nature around is beautiful for hiking or for walkies if you are travelling with dog. So sad we didn’t have a time to explore more. I would recommend the hotel and hopefully we will see you again! Ps: super dog friendly people! They allow dogs in a room which is hard to find sometimes.... Thank you for everything! Veronika, Graeme and Cody xx

Der Chef bedient in zerschlampten Jeans, mit schief gelaufenen Absätzen. Keinerlei Ahnung, was es nicht mehr gibt. Verbranntes tk-Schnitzel, knochentrockene Pommes in überlagertem Fett frittiert, Salat versalzen. Weine von ortsüblicher Durchschnittlichkeit, dabei gäbe es in der Umgebung unzählig herausragende Gewächse an zu bieten. Das Bier zu warm, zu alt. Danke, aber die Aussicht war das beste hier.

Es handelt sich um ein älteres Haus. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber ansprechend hergerichtet und sauber. Das Abendessen war sehr gut und das Steak extrem zart. Leider kam ein Essen erst, nachdem wir anderen schon fast fertig waren. Da hätte ich mir eine Entschuldigung gewünscht.

Muy buen trato en el hotel y la comida muy buena. Habitaciones decoradas con encanto, situación muy buena, cerca del parque natural de la Selva negra. Los propietarios del Hotel muy amables y atentos en todo el momento. Gracias a Natalie & Bruno por permitir la estancia a nuestra familia canina en su hotel.

Encantador restaurante en la Selva Negra. El lago Mummelsee estaba lleno y decidimos bajar un poco a comer. El menú infantil adecuado para los niños: 7€ Los platos para los adultos generosos y bien de precio, una media de 11€ La terraza ofrece unas estupendas vistas. Una buena opción para comer.
