Hotel Restaurant Spinnerhof in Sasbachwalden

Unfortunately, the roulade I ordered from you on St. Martin's Day was awful (dry and tough). I told the server this as well. Never again!

I'm reviewing the restaurant. Great location with a fantastic view. Friendly staff, quick service, the food arrived promptly and tasted good. The only downside: it's very large, crowded, and noisy. It doesn't have the atmosphere of a restaurant, more like a large cafeteria.

Beautiful location. Almost like a small Swiss village. Amazing Black Forest cherry cake.

We had a wonderful time. The reception staff were fantastic. The food was delicious. The room was very spacious and the view was breathtaking. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area again.

I was there for lunch. The food was delicious, the service friendly, and there were no complaints. The building complex is beautifully laid out, with a wine and beer fountain behind the house. It's really well done. It's a shame I was there in the fall and not in the sunshine. It would definitely be an even better experience in the summer. I'd love to go back, but then I'd stay overnight.

We went to the Spinnerhof for dinner. We made a spontaneous reservation and were happy to find some space. We had the rump steak and the roast beef with onions. We've never eaten such a perfectly cooked and delicious steak!! Wow, compliments! We'll definitely be back! We were here with the Schlemmerblock (snack menu). The service and ambiance were top-notch.

Big praise for the relaxed and friendly staff today at the Spinnerhof. We had reserved several tables, arrived a little later than planned, and then moved us from inside to outside. The staff were super cool about it, even with the rather lively kids. Thank you for that. Amazing view, very nice, and delicious as always. We'd be happy to go again.

I highly recommend the restaurant; it's very pretty and well-maintained. You can sit inside or outside. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. And the food was truly excellent. I'd call the prices rather high, but they're certainly appropriate for the quality of the food. There's a beautiful terrace with a lovely view of the vineyards and villages. I highly recommend it.

We came here yesterday during a hike; it's a very busy restaurant with a wonderful view from a very nice and clean sun terrace. When we were finally allowed to order, and it eventually arrived, the food was very, very good, tasty and absolutely sufficient. The service was not good; the waiter with his sunglasses unfortunately had no eye on his area at all; I wouldn't even call it speed! Ordering more drinks was impossible because no one came to take our orders! A single decent, experienced waiter would have had the whole terrace under control much better than what I felt were the "foreign" students working as seasonal workers.

The restaurant and outdoor area are beautifully designed – the restaurant makes a very good visual impression. Unfortunately, we couldn't confirm our positive impressions with the service and food. The restaurant manager greeted us unfriendly and seemed visibly in a bad mood. The food also disappointed us. Given the higher prices, we would have expected better quality – the taste was only average. The beetroot cheeseburger, in particular, was a complete failure: It tasted neither of beetroot nor fresh, but distinctly artificial and chemical. Unfortunately, we can't recommend this burger to anyone. A positive point is the friendly server, who went out of her way to help us and offered us a free shot of schnapps as an apology – a nice gesture, even if not everyone drinks alcohol. Overall, we were disappointed with our visit. We give it 2 stars for the beautiful location and ambiance.

It is our favorite restaurant in the area

I stayed there two years ago. It was a very nice and quiet location. The view was beautiful. The food was delicious.

The restrooms are also good. The prices are reasonable for a very touristy/busy location. Parking is available at the restaurant on the hill or at the bottom in the large parking lot. The chapel is also worth a visit.

We only used the restaurant, and it was a 10-day experience. Of all our days in Germany, it was without a doubt the best place we've eaten. Furthermore, the service was excellent and the presentation was excellent. The food was delicious!

Highly recommended. Beautiful location with a stunning view. Very well-maintained hotel with lovingly designed outdoor areas. It's a wonderful place to unwind and even linger. The food was fantastic. We'd been looking for a place that served schnitzel for a while. Definitely book outside during lunchtime! Restrooms are upstairs and incalide is on the ground floor. Pay by card or cash. Parking is free, 40+ spaces.

Hotel: Great rooms, very spacious, and with a fantastic view. The reception staff were always friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast, with a wide selection. Ample parking and a bus stop nearby. Restaurant: Disappointing. Expensive and small portions (for the first time, dessert was necessary to feel full!) Additionally, the staff didn't seem to think you were worth enough if there were only two of you... While different waitresses stopped by the table next to us, which held 5-6 people, every few minutes, we were ignored unless we made ourselves known.

Spinnerhof💗is like "coming home"

I'm only reviewing the restaurant here. It has a nice outdoor area. However, the food was far too bland, with portions that were too small. The value for money here is completely out of the question. This has nothing to do with Baden cuisine. The service was friendly. We were truly very disappointed. We definitely won't be eating here again.

We only stayed one night at the Spinnerhof because we were visiting our son and his family, who were vacationing there for a week. But even after that one night, we could tell that this is an excellent hotel in every respect. Our room was very nice, on the 4th floor of the new building, which must have only been completed last year. The room was tastefully and modernly furnished – electrical outlets with USB ports! A beautiful view from the balcony of the Rhine plain – you could even see Strasbourg Cathedral – and the Vosges Mountains beyond. One suggestion for improvement – the superbly equipped bathroom had a window – facing the bedroom! Our grandchildren found it fascinating that we could be observed in the shower and on the toilet. However, not everyone might view this as positively – a pleated blind or roller blind on the bathroom side would be installed with little effort, allowing everyone to decide for themselves whether they wanted to be observed or not. The dinner was also excellent – as was the extensive breakfast; nothing was left to be desired.

Today, after our bike ride, we stopped at the self-service bar outside. Great location, but the payment options are dated. The two of us wanted to order two cold drinks one after the other. However, card payments are only accepted for orders over €15. After running out of cash after two rounds, we had to move on. These days, even in Germany, you can pay cashless almost everywhere. It annoyed us. And it didn't help the Spinnerhof's sales either. A lose-lose situation.

I have to give it a clear recommendation! Absolutely stunningly located, with a fabulous view, a huge terrace, and a super-chic interior, the family-run Spinnerhof is perched in a beautiful spot and is worth a visit for the view alone. I absolutely loved the "tree house" (which can be rented for a certain number of people), but personally, I loved the delicious Black Forest gateau! Very friendly service, and we'll be back for dinner soon so we can enjoy the chic ambiance inside.

We were there with family and friends...a super nice summer evening with excellent food

Very nice hotel. Friendly receptionist, smiling and offering good advice. It was just a shame that the bar and restaurant were closed. So we had to eat outside and couldn't have a drink in the evening. Very nice surroundings.

The wedding at the Spinnerhof was simply magnificent and met all our expectations. The outdoor ceremony with the beautiful view over the Black Forest was a unique experience. The stunning arch and seating created a particularly beautiful ambiance. The team was extremely flexible and even provided additional benches for our more than 100 guests. They also accommodated our personal requests, such as extending the music until 4 a.m. — normally, it would have ended at 3 a.m. A big compliment goes to the beautifully folded napkins, which added a special touch. The rest of the table decorations and the entire floral arrangements were by Blumenhaus Serrer, whose creations also contributed significantly to the wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended. However, it's important to note that such comprehensive service and location come at a price. The costs are high, but justified given the quality offered. Overall, our wedding at the Spinnerhof was an outstanding celebration. We would like to thank the team and would happily recommend the Spinnerhof to anyone looking for a special wedding location.

The three-night stay at the Hotel Spinnerhof was a complete success. Particularly noteworthy are the beautiful location with a stunning view, the tastefully furnished and very clean rooms, and the extremely friendly and attentive staff. You immediately feel at home and in good hands.

A fantastic view. The Black Forest cake is absolutely amazing. The wheat Aperol and Sauvignon Blanc are a dream.

We were able to spend one night at the Spinnerhof. We really enjoyed it and will be back. The rooms are beautifully furnished and clean. The shower is a dream. The view is also sensational. When checking in, we asked if we could reserve a table for the evening. The lady at the reception said they had already reserved our table and we just had to tell them the time. Great service. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. Thank you very much.

We visited the restaurant and stayed overnight. The rooms were clean and spacious. The food was delicious: spaetzle, schnitzel, sausage salad, and Alpirsbacher beer.

Excellent views over the Rhine Valley all the way to Elsass from the outdoor terrace. Food was excellent.

We stayed at the hotel for one night. The room was excellent, the bathroom was fantastic, and the view was unbeatable, even from the bed. We ate in the restaurant in the evening; the service was super friendly, the food came quickly and was excellent, and the price/performance ratio was absolutely top-notch. The breakfast buffet had everything you could wish for, with delicious fresh rolls and an incredible selection. The coffee was also great. We'll definitely be back. Oh, and the access is, let's say, a bit adventurous for motorbikes, but there's good parking at the top.

We went to dinner with five people. The food was very quick, delicious, and the service was super friendly! We were served very friendly and competently that evening by Ms. Iliana. High praise, the trip here was definitely worth it – thank you so much!

A beautifully situated hotel with a restaurant. A lot of renovations have taken place in recent years. The restaurant and outdoor areas are beautiful. I've eaten there several times, and it was always good. The Black Forest gateau was enormous. This was my first time staying at the hotel. I was in the old building, but still had a lovely room with a view of the valley. I do have one small criticism. The room was very noisy. You could clearly hear the TV in the next room. But that's just nitpicking.

This review refers only to the restaurant: My cheese spaetzle was cold and a mess. The burger was poorly presented, and the fries were soggy. The waitress was overwhelmed by our criticism. The ambiance is very nice, but it doesn't help when the food isn't tasty.

The hotel is recommended; the room was clean and nicely furnished. The breakfast was also excellent. Unfortunately, they didn't inform us that we needed to reserve a table at the restaurant in the evening. We weren't able to get a table for two people, which is a shame when you're a hotel guest and want to dine in the restaurant. This could have been mentioned to reception when we checked in. The gentleman who turned us away from the restaurant in the evening was also very unfriendly and not solution-oriented.

In my opinion, the owner is incompetent and should find someone else! My review is purely an experience and therefore based purely on the opinions of the guests and therefore subject to freedom of expression. It's a truly great experience if you're lucky enough not to have been there. I can honestly recommend it to everyone. 1 star for the rooms. Has beds. Service would get 5 stars due to the really friendly staff. Unfortunately, management is lowering the rating to 2 stars... The location is truly impressive. It's a shame there isn't a good hotel here. That would be truly amazing. Still, 4 stars for the location, but the location lowers the rating by at least 1 star. No visit is ever worth recommending.

Amazing view, but the cheese spaetzle wasn't that great—lots of béchamel sauce, not much cheese. Touristy prices. Great place to stop for a break while hiking.

The location is amazing, between the vineyards with stunning views. Friendly welcome at the hotel, we had a room with garden view, spacious and clean. The restaurant food and service was great, they also serve the locally made wines which were great!

I happened to stop here with my wife for a late lunch. The restaurant is idyllically located and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The Baden salad with Maultaschen (swabian pasta) was not only delicious but also a generous portion. We would go back.

We're Alsatian and therefore speak German quite well, but the waiter doesn't make any effort if we stop and focus on a word; we just feel like we're bothering him. Truffle Pasta - €22.50! There are no truffle pieces in this, but maybe some truffle-flavored oil at most.

Great location. The beer garden only has one catch. The staff who collects the money puts the cake on the plate with their hands. That was a really messy affair with the Black Forest cake. The customer then didn’t want to buy the Bapp. So put it in the fridge. 2 customers later the lump was gone. Everyone should think for themselves.

Really great food here. One of the better Schnitzels with Spätzle - I think both fresh (not fried at all) really have that pure taste. The partner had the cheesy cheese burger, which also tasted amazingly good. With the amount of cheese you would expect the cheese flavor to dominate. That is certainly not the case here, the burger came from the wood grill and you could taste it. And then the view, very beautiful! We will definitely come here again when we are in the Black Forest.

Today I was at the Spinnerhof restaurant with a friend. The facility is very impressive and well maintained. The tables were very tastefully set. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food. The tarte flambée was probably a "finished product" instead of raw vegetables/leaf salad, there was a bowl with tasteless, mushy vegetable mix covered with not very fresh leaf lettuce. You had to look for the dressing. It was clear that it wasn't tasty. But no one was interested. It's a shame ☹️ the kitchen still has a lot of room for improvement

We went there for lunch during a hike. The guest room is cozy and newly furnished. The menu is varied and also has something to offer for vegetarians (the only thing that bothered us was that flavor enhancers were listed as an additive. That shouldn't actually be the case with homemade spinach dumplings!). We waited a while, but were then rewarded with very generous portions, which neither of us managed to eat despite the good taste. The view from the terrace is really great and it's worth eating there in summer or stopping for a piece of cake!

Good food and very pleasant setting

We didn't stay overnight because we come from the region. However, it was the first time for coffee and we were thrilled by the location, really very nice. But we are not enthusiastic about the prices for a piece of Black Forest cake for €7.80 and a small cappuccino for €4.10 - this is more likely to be seen as a tourist offer. Simply overpriced. Then we had just finished drinking coffee and the service staff came to clear away and collect the money. There was no question whether we would like to order something else. Pretty inhospitable...

The food was okay, but the service was very unfriendly. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a cake, even after asking several times no cake came. There was no apology either. Therefore, I cannot recommend the restaurant and will not come back.
