Hotel Restaurant Spinnerhof in Sasbachwalden

The location is amazing, between the vineyards with stunning views. Friendly welcome at the hotel, we had a room with garden view, spacious and clean. The restaurant food and service was great, they also serve the locally made wines which were great!

I happened to stop here with my wife for a late lunch. The restaurant is idyllically located and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The Baden salad with Maultaschen (swabian pasta) was not only delicious but also a generous portion. We would go back.

We're Alsatian and therefore speak German quite well, but the waiter doesn't make any effort if we stop and focus on a word; we just feel like we're bothering him. Truffle Pasta - €22.50! There are no truffle pieces in this, but maybe some truffle-flavored oil at most.

Great location. The beer garden only has one catch. The staff who collects the money puts the cake on the plate with their hands. That was a really messy affair with the Black Forest cake. The customer then didn’t want to buy the Bapp. So put it in the fridge. 2 customers later the lump was gone. Everyone should think for themselves.

Really great food here. One of the better Schnitzels with Spätzle - I think both fresh (not fried at all) really have that pure taste. The partner had the cheesy cheese burger, which also tasted amazingly good. With the amount of cheese you would expect the cheese flavor to dominate. That is certainly not the case here, the burger came from the wood grill and you could taste it. And then the view, very beautiful! We will definitely come here again when we are in the Black Forest.

Today I was at the Spinnerhof restaurant with a friend. The facility is very impressive and well maintained. The tables were very tastefully set. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food. The tarte flambée was probably a "finished product" instead of raw vegetables/leaf salad, there was a bowl with tasteless, mushy vegetable mix covered with not very fresh leaf lettuce. You had to look for the dressing. It was clear that it wasn't tasty. But no one was interested. It's a shame ☹️ the kitchen still has a lot of room for improvement

I only rate the restaurant. The ambience was great, the service was very friendly and attentive and the food was first class. We went out to eat several times during our vacation and were very satisfied each time

We went there for lunch during a hike. The guest room is cozy and newly furnished. The menu is varied and also has something to offer for vegetarians (the only thing that bothered us was that flavor enhancers were listed as an additive. That shouldn't actually be the case with homemade spinach dumplings!). We waited a while, but were then rewarded with very generous portions, which neither of us managed to eat despite the good taste. The view from the terrace is really great and it's worth eating there in summer or stopping for a piece of cake!

Good food and very pleasant setting

We didn't stay overnight because we come from the region. However, it was the first time for coffee and we were thrilled by the location, really very nice. But we are not enthusiastic about the prices for a piece of Black Forest cake for €7.80 and a small cappuccino for €4.10 - this is more likely to be seen as a tourist offer. Simply overpriced. Then we had just finished drinking coffee and the service staff came to clear away and collect the money. There was no question whether we would like to order something else. Pretty inhospitable...

The food was okay, but the service was very unfriendly. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a cake, even after asking several times no cake came. There was no apology either. Therefore, I cannot recommend the restaurant and will not come back.

Very excellent Black Forest cake. Incredibly large slices on standard flag plates. Finely paired with homemade cherry brandy, just as you'd expect at the foot of the Black Forest in the wine and distillery region. We'd love to come back 💙🐞🍀 March 18, 2022 - The legendary Black Forest cake will be back in the summer 🎀 February 16, 2025 - So, our Sunday excursion took us along the beautiful Black Forest High Road, snow-covered in the higher elevations (Hundseck, Untersmatt, and Seibelseckle were skiing) to Sasbachwalden to the Spinnerhof 🤩 This restaurant is still known, among other things, for its very sumptuous *Black Forest cake* 😍 The restaurant enjoyed enormous popularity. We joined the other guests, who were hoping for a free table with us 🍀 Unfortunately, due to my chassis problems, we couldn't visit the St. Catherine's Chapel on the hill; the path isn't far, but it's uphill. Maybe we'll make it another time 🙏

We had a good meal (a gourmet block) without the block the prices were a bit overpriced, the service took a while to take our order and serve us (apparently the arrangement of the distribution was not properly discussed), the outside area was very nicely laid out, great view🏞

We celebrated at the Spinnerhof following our civil wedding. We were thrilled with the decor, service, and quality of the food. Many thanks to the entire team for this unforgettable day. Another plus: the grounds were perfect for beautiful souvenir photos.

We ate Sunday evening, we were greeted by the waiter Michel with a small chihuahua and told us to put ourselves in the corner reserved for customers with dogs, he weighs barely 2 kg and does not move, Really disappointed with the welcome and the meal and yet we are fairly regular customers, but never again, it's a shame for the setting, the view is magnificent, but the staff leaves something to be desired

No, absolutely overpriced, no service whatsoever, except for the nice older lady at the breakfast buffet who was so nice and accommodating that we would come back again for that reason alone!

New Year's Eve Gala Essen 24 was very overpriced. Very small child-sized portions in a 5-course menu cost €133. This is way overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area. Price recommendation would be more like €40. Price-performance accordingly underground. No New Year's Eve party. And the midnight meal was just bockwurst with curry sauce and not everyone got a sausage. Just disco music and no atmosphere. Definitely not a recommendation!!

No entry with dogs. Of shame! We arrived mid-afternoon to try the famous black forest cake but with the room empty, the manager tells us that everything is full and does not want to serve us when he sees that we come with a small dog. It was easier to tell us the truth, announce that dogs are not allowed and we would have understood and respected it and saved our negative review. See you never!

So it was a really nice view, and the room was a wonderful size with a balcony. The food in the restaurant was really good and large portions. The breakfast had everything you need. I don't think it's good that you can look into the bathroom and see your partner on the toilet. In addition, you cannot close the door completely. Why? Do you want to see him sitting on the pot? Simply putting a curtain function on the window would be easy. I think the mattresses are really cheap! I have so much back pain and so does my partner. I would replace it, other guests would have the same problem. Otherwise everything was neat and great. If the two points were optimized, I think it would get 5 star reviews, as the location already has many stars.

Actually a beautiful hotel with a very great view of the valley. We had the pleasure of living in the old building. Unfortunately the heating didn't work and it couldn't be turned off and when we checked out it was simply accepted without us being offered any compensation

Nice restaurant with hotel. We were at the Christmas market there. The cheap mulled wine from the discount store in an area known for good wine was disappointing. Incredible.

Wedding at the Spinnerhof in August 2024 Hotel rating 0 stars I can only advise everyone not to accept the Spinnerhof room allotment at a wedding, because not only do you get the last rooms in the old building, they are more than in need of renovation. The final straw is that we as the bride and groom were the last to get our room. In addition, as a bride and groom you don't get a special room that was particularly beautifully decorated or impressive in its size or anything else, you get what you pay for €170, namely the space and charm of the 80s. Our conclusion, stay overnight wherever you want, but not in a hotel, a disaster. Location 4 stars It's a great location for weddings from us 4-stars and an event manager who tried very hard to look after us. If the event manager isn't there, which unfortunately she wasn't able to do due to illness and we weren't told that and in our case she can't take care of everything, then there is a replacement who prefers to run after her dog, doesn't serve coffee and is extremely unfriendly , because she doesn't feel like it! Neither the event manager nor two very good service employees in the evening could handle it, nor could the excellent food itself, there was nothing left to save. There are employees who don't fit into this team. I hope the boss himself would take care of his guests personally and not just walk through them so that you don't even know that he is the boss, which is a shame if you have such reservations in the restaurant. I can only recommend that he change and get rid of employees who are not good for his reputation and team. I can only wish that for him, because based on our current experience we won't be having a big celebration at his place again.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the new rooms with a valley view. The double room is of high quality and comfortably furnished. You immediately feel very comfortable here. The landscape around the hotel is impressive. The entire hotel complex is very well maintained and the service (reception, rooms, restaurant) is excellent. Overall, a great place to unwind a little.

On October 5th, 2024 we were able to celebrate our wedding in the Spinnerhof (event barn). It was a top celebration. You can't imagine a better location. Advice and preparation were great! Sandra Hoffmann in particular gave us great support. Everything worked. We can only recommend it!

The Hotel-Restaurant Spinnerhof is located in the wine village of Sasbachwalden. In addition to an indescribable atmosphere and a heavenly view of the Rhine Valley, you have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal both in the restaurant and on the newly built terrace. The service always has the customer in mind and takes special requests into account immediately. In addition to the restaurant, the Spinnerhof also has a hotel with newly furnished rooms. We celebrated our wedding here and were well looked after by the staff. An employee took a lot of time in advance to perfectly coordinate the wedding process with us, including all the details such as decorations and food. The event location available, among other things, really offers everything you need. No matter whether photo box, candy bar or projector. Everything could be used. Our tip: The St. Katharina Peace Chapel is also part of the farm and can be booked for independent weddings. We did exactly that. First the wedding and then the big celebration. There has now also been an open space where even the community of Sasbachwalden can officially get married. Certainly fantastic in summer when the temperatures are warm. Thanks again to the team. I had lunch at Spinnerhof restaurant. The Käsespätzle was a little bit heavily cheesy for my taste (I remember it was more creamy before but I may be wrong), but nicely served. The service quality is very good and the atmosphere is nice too.

On October 26th, 2024 we celebrated our wedding in the event barn. Sandra gave us great support and advice right from the planning stage. She was able to fully respond to our wishes and ideas. The celebration itself was a complete success :) The room was beautifully decorated, the service girls were friendly and quick. The plentiful food was delicious and was highly praised by all our guests. This evening rounded off our wedding perfectly. We are still very enthusiastic and can warmly recommend the Spinnerhof!

We came across this by chance and it was very busy when we arrived but we were made to feel extremely welcome and were seated in the extension area. We were served by a great host and the food was fantastic. Lovely atmosphere and great value. Highly recommend.

The best thing about the place is the view. The food was ok, but completely overpriced. If I e.g. For example, if I order truffle pasta, I expect truffles on top. There was no sign of that. You could still clearly see the truffle at the next table. I think it was just used up for us. When I complained, the waiter told me very rudely that it was only truffle oil and that I would otherwise have to pay twice as much if I expected truffles. If that's the case, I don't expect pasta with truffle oil in the description, as written pasta with truffle. The rest of the service had an Asian touch and didn't understand a word of German. If you want good service and good food, you're better off going somewhere else.

This Sunday we went to your restaurant before a hike. Inside you were full and you were offered a place outside. We had to insist after 1/2 that we take our order. Once taken we waited 1 hour. Seeing nothing coming, we asked the waiter what it was. He couldn't tell us anything despite his comings and goings in the kitchen!!!!Result after 1h30 we paid for our drinks and left. To flee their organization is catastrophic.

Worst service i got in a restaurant in a very long time. 15 min to even get a menu, then another 10 min passed until i got tired of waiting and called the waiter to take our order. I will say the cordon bleu was very good to my taste, even one of the better onea i ate in germany. But we also ordered a burger which they didnt even let us choose the level of "doneness" and it came completely rare. After we asked to grill it a bit more we understood why they had to give it rare. The meat doesnt fit to a burger, its super dry and without any fat. General experience was very bad. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone especially with the overpriced menu.

We had on September 28th. our wedding in the event barn in the Spinnerhof. It was just a dream. Motto: Harry Potter 😉 The location is so beautiful, modern and rustic combined. We also immediately liked Sandra Hoffmann, the event planner, and supported us with all of our questions and plans regarding our wedding. The BBQ buffet was just a dream... You didn't even know where to start. Everyone was full and completely satisfied. Everyone who stayed overnight was also very happy with their rooms and the breakfast in the morning left nothing to be desired. Thank you very much for the wonderful time with you.

We celebrated our wedding there on September 28th, 2024. Ultimately, you can only rave about the quality of the food, the service at the celebration and the support provided in advance by Ms. Hoffmann. Our guests also really liked the great view of the sunset over the Rhine plain. The planning phase before our big day gave us a lot of joy and thanks to the professional input of our contact person, who has obviously already seen a few events at the Spinnerhof, our most beautiful day really turned into a great overall package. Even if we don't do it anymore, we would celebrate our wedding there again.

Excellent dishes, excellent service. The only downside is that the dishes are not accompanied by salad, unlike other restaurants in Schwarzwald.

Wir waren an einem Freitagabend da; gut dass wir reserviert hatten, denn es wurde schnell voll. Der Service war freundlich, aufmerksam und kompetent. Die Speisekarte ist sehr kreativ, da ist wirklich für jeden was dabei, auch mehrere vegane Gerichte und alles mit sehr regionalem Bezug ohne altbacken zu sein. Wir teilten uns einen Flammkuchen als Vorspeise, hatten danach jeweils Fish&Chips bzw den veganen Burger, das war alles sehr ansprechend angerichtet und sättigend. So teilten wir uns noch ein (riesiges!) Stück Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte als Dessert, und das war wirklich das Highlight.

We had a two-day event here including an evening. The training rooms are great, modern, bright and well-equipped. We were very well looked after during the day and always had enough drinks and delicious snacks in between. Lunch was very tasty and the tarte flambée in the evening was really exceptional! When we were rewarded in the evening with a magnificent view of a sunset (see pictures) it was perfect.

What a beautifully located hotel, restaurant and conference center. Unique view, nice people, rooms new and very clean, soft towels, delicious breakfast buffet, great meeting room. All in all definitely worth a visit.

A wonderful spot in the Black Forest and a hotel with a very special flair. Kitchen, cleanliness, hotel grounds are simply top! The staff greets you and pampers you with a warmth that you rarely encounter. Unfortunately, we were only able to enjoy the “Spinnerhof” for one night during a conference. Personally, this darling has landed on my list for our girls' tours and I'm already looking forward to spending a few days there. I thank you for your hospitality.

Our summer holidays at the Hotel Restaurant Spinnerhof were simply unforgettable! First of all, I would like to say that we stayed in the holiday apartment and had absolutely nothing to complain about in the entire complex. There are little things here and there that some people might notice, but that's purely a matter of taste. What really counts is the overall experience - and that was simply breathtaking! We were particularly impressed by the staff. Rarely have we met such warm and committed people. Above all Ursula, the all-round talent and the kind soul of the complex, who takes care of the wonderful design and maintenance of the hotel. She welcomed us every day with her friendly manner and was an absolute asset to our stay. Our daughter in particular took Ursula to our hearts - she felt so comfortable that at times we didn't even know where she was because she loved spending every minute with Ursula. She is a great added value for everyone who gets to know her! The service in the restaurant also deserves high praise. The trainees do a good job and we were particularly impressed by the breakfast service. Christine left a lasting impression with her loving nature, especially when dealing with our daughter. Not to be forgotten is the owner himself, who took the time to guide us through the modernized facility and provide exciting insights behind the scenes. A great, very courteous gesture! In summary, the entire team - from management to the individual employees - is a perfectly coordinated team that makes your stay a real experience. Last but not least, the view! Words are not enough to describe the beauty of the surroundings. Anyone who has ever been here will understand what I mean. We've been on beach holidays before, but the mountains and the lifestyle you get up here are something very special. In short: The Spinnerhof is a place to feel good, relax and enjoy. We'll definitely be back!

Rustic and elegant atmosphere. We ate delicious schnitzel and tarte flambée there once and the next time we had 6-tier Black Forest cake, which was amazing.

Terrible experience! I am taking part in a press trip with other journalist colleagues, we arrived this afternoon and they give us rooms, mine is in a sort of attic where you can't see that the roof is really very low, right above the bed and to get closer to the bedside table I I hit my head so hard that I fell backwards to the floor, hitting my back, lower back and head. Luckily my colleague is in the next room and heard me screaming and ran to me to help me. I almost fainted from the blow I took. No one from the front desk or anyone for the owner came to ask me how I was or if I needed anything. Freezing room, I would like to take a hot shower but there is a towel so small that it is enough for a child, my colleague has already come down twice to ask them if they can give us two more, and they replied that they will take them upstairs , but we are still waiting… There are marks on the wall where I hit my head, which means it happened to someone else. Terrible experience!

My son celebrated his wedding there, the food was super delicious 😋, the raspberry dressing was a taste explosion,,,,,.!!!The service was very friendly, attentive,.Sanitary rooms were very clean, everything was there for the wife too.!!! I hope I haven't forgotten anything. The view is fantastic, the beer garden really invites you to linger. There are just not enough parking spaces. My recommendation is that the parking spaces above are allowed for overnight guests, the disabled and also for older people. The lack of parking spaces also means that there is no shortage of guests.

The tarte flambée was served cold and there was a lot of chichi with the sausage salad but no fried potatoes. Information from service: We don't have it. The beer from Alpirsbacher tasted very good.

I didn't have an overnight stay, but was invited to a wedding celebration with a free wedding ceremony high above the Spinnerhof in the most amazing weather and an incredibly great view as a backdrop to the wedding. The only thing that really bothered me was that, given this exposed location and booking of the hotel for many wedding guests and the culinary facilities at the wedding, there was no hotel transport service for severely disabled people who needed a walker or had to use crutches. As a private individual, I stepped in voluntarily and provided this service myself, free of charge, which I had expected as a matter of course from the Spinnerhof staff. La comida está muy rica.. y la tarta de selva negra de más de 20 cm .. es enorme el trozo la probamos 6 personas . Entre 20 y 30 euros por persona .

In our group we had consistently good (although not cheap) food. The experience was primarily marred by the fact that the service was completely indifferent. After 15 minutes we still didn't have a menu, even though we pointed out that we would like to order something. After we got a card ourselves, our order was taken after about 25 minutes; without any apology. Getting the drinks also took ages. Overall, very tasty food with below average service.

We were at a wedding. The location is great. Unfortunately, there weren't enough parasols set up for the wedding ceremony in the open air and in the shade at 30 degrees. As a result, we got sunburnt and I had to leave the wedding ceremony because I don't tolerate heat well. The food and service were top. I can understand the thin walls that another person complained about. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was great.
