It was a lovely setting by the river. We arrived in mid-afternoon and so had the place basically to ourselves. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and the portions were more than sufficient. I had the breaded schnitzel with mushroom sauce. My wife had the chicken with mushroom sauce. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and would love to be able to return soon.

We came from a path, and from there, it didn't look particularly inviting. The tunnel is almost as oppressive as an underpass in some cities. But the food was excellent. Truly superb. The view of the river and how everything is laid out...unbelievable from the side we came from. This time I had fish. With a few bones. It tasted really good. That's what fish is like when it's fresh. If you like, they'll chat. The owners and staff are great. It's a good place to have a good time. Tip!! (Next time I'll get something meaty)

We had a very good meal here. The four of us had different dishes. All delicious and plentiful. We also had a small freshly made salad. Special allergy requests were accommodated, and the food arrived promptly and together for everyone. The friendly service rounded off the good experience. We'd be happy to go back. The four of us spent just over €140, including a drink each.

We were disappointed for the first time on vacation...our coffee didn't arrive. After waiting 30 minutes, we ordered again...our cappuccino can be made in an espresso cup for 4 euros...honestly...I'm happy to pay a little extra on vacation, but I thought this was really over the top. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice.

Well, that was another great discovery! Absolutely delicious food; we had plaice and wolffish, definitely recommended! Sitting comfortably outside on the spacious terrace (although the seat cushions desperately need replacing) and relaxing after a bike ride! The only downside is that they only accept cash payments... But we'd be happy to come back!

We spent an absolutely fantastic evening there. Not only was the ambiance and the view of the river magnificent, the food was just as good and delicious. The ingredients were fresh; we ordered two fish dishes and the Jägerschnitzel. The schnitzel was almost twice the size of the plate. The quality of the meat was excellent; there was nothing to complain about. The prices were also completely reasonable. It's in the same price range as all the other restaurants in the area. All in all, I highly recommend it, and I can recommend the restaurant without hesitation.

Unfortunately, I don't recommend it! Even though the location is very nice, the food is unfortunately very average and the price is quite high. A 0.4-liter fruit juice spritzer costs €6.50!!! Tönning is apparently the new St. Tropez... We weren't even offered a drinks menu, so we didn't know about the outrageous price. Otherwise, we wouldn't have ordered in the first place. I would never go there again and wouldn't recommend it. There are many other good restaurants in Tönning.

My partner ordered a prawn stir-fry for his main course. He was served a huge, almost empty plate with about ten small prawns – for €27. It tasted okay, but completely inadequate as a "main course." A piece of kiwi and a small piece of apple with the skin on it were also on the plate – that was it. More of a joke than a complete meal. I had chosen the chicken with nuts, baked potatoes, and spinach – hoping for a delicious nutty sauce. Instead, I got a completely dry piece of chicken, without any trace of sauce or nuts. The potato side dish was 90% sour cream, with hardly any actual potato pieces. Tasted bland and unloving. This so-called "main course" cost €22. After two unchewable bites, I sent it back – completely inedible. Each dish was supposed to come with a small "salad" – consisting of two slices of cucumber, a piece of tomato, and a few leaves. Although this salad was supposedly included, I was ultimately charged €4 for it – on the grounds that I had eaten it (it arrived about 10 minutes before the actual meal). Being asked to pay extra for something like that is simply embarrassing. And as if that weren't enough: The presumed owner offered neither apologies nor showed any understanding. On the contrary – he tried to explain to me that the chicken "has to be just like that." Instead of accepting criticism, he justified everything and tried to portray it as normal. That may be fine for him – but I certainly don't eat that kind of thing. Conclusion: A completely overpriced, poor-quality restaurant with tiny portions, terrible execution, and an uncomprehending, rude owner. Never again. An absolute disappointment all round.

We were here to eat "plain plaice"! Delicious, well-cooked, and friendly people.

We didn't wait long for the food. We had steak and fish, the fish was very good (but adding €6 for a baked potato is a bit cheeky). The steak was tasty, but nothing more. Prices in general in Tönning are pretty steep. Here, fish and seagulls are still a good night. 😉.

We've been vacationing in Schleswig-Holstein every year for years, and we visit this restaurant at least twice. You have a direct view of the Eider River while you eat. The food is excellent, as always, and the staff, especially the chef, are very friendly. So, if you're vacationing in Tönning, you should definitely stop by.

One tiny downside: It's apparently part of good manners that many guests are left sitting with empty glasses without being offered anything new. The waitress only responds to a shout to take another order. But then it's always quick and friendly!

Today we ate at this restaurant because we loved the view of the Eider River. We had two rump steaks with fried potatoes. The steaks were very fatty and riddled with tendons. Our request for medium-rare resulted in a raw steak. To go with the meal, we had a Pinot Grigio, warm and of the inferior variety. Last but not least, I missed the small sign at the entrance saying "Cash Only." I had to drive to the bank to get the money. A total of 95 poorly spent euros.

One of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Super tasty.

The fillet of redfish in fruit curry sauce tasted very good. Something different than a mustard sauce that certainly tastes very good. A great new variant. Also worth mentioning is the colorful salad, all fresh, which came beforehand.

Excellent food in a stylish atmosphere. The food, in our case the captain's plate and housewife-style matjes, was exactly what the menu promised. The landlord takes care of his guests in an exemplary manner! Only the increased price of the garnet slightly dampened the visit. However, this is due to the low attendance rates and in no way to the restaurant's fault. Overall a successful evening. We'd love to come back!

Very nice service, very nice atmosphere, view of the Eider, the food was very good, side salad (everything fresh: grated carrots and red cabbage, iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, rocket), we had the captain's plate (lots of fish and crabs) and chicken breast fillet ( Meat was still nice and juicy and still nicely fried) eaten on leaf spinach with baked potatoes. Conclusion: highly recommended, we will be back

Great view, food OK, but quite overpriced. For a crab soup with small indicators of convenience including a countable proportion of crab filling plus a cola for 20 EUR, that's steep and not necessarily justified.

From our point of view, an excellent meal and at a reasonable price. The mustard-crusted steak was cooked to perfection and the grilled chicken steak with spinach was juicy and excellently seasoned. All of this in a very quiet and nice atmosphere. We will be back soon.

Unfortunately, I didn't receive any help when I wanted to go to the restaurant in my wheelchair. Both the service employee and the waiter just watched as my companion pushed the wheelchair over the edge. The salad was served rather blandly, with a dollop of ready-made salad dressing (French dressing). The salmon 28€ was really inedible, too dry. Instead of boiled potatoes I chose fried potatoes, then please pay 2.50€ more for what?? Only cash payment possible. I didn't feel welcome here.

Nice setting overlooking the river. Positive service but no habit of having foreigners, no menu in English but the very kind waitress tried in every way to make herself understood in English. A bit grumpy host... Typical local food, cooked quite well. We're not quite there on the payment where we discover that you only pay cash... at a restaurant?! Ah yes... There was a sign... written in German... I had to go into town to withdraw money from a bank... In terms of hospitality we need to improve.

It's the year 2024 - please offer card payment. Unfortunately, we were only informed of this when paying and had to go to the nearest ATM in town to get cash. Food was ok but relatively expensive. Location is great.

All in all I can only report positive things. We were there this evening with 6 people and our dog, the food was fantastic, the service was super friendly and the price-performance ratio was perfect. Our dog received a friendly welcome, tables were put together for us and we felt very comfortable. We'd love to come back!

Even though we had reservations and arrived on time, we were seated at a free table in the middle of the restaurant. When we pointed out that we had made a reservation and that other reserved tables in a better position were not yet occupied, there was no response whatsoever. The first thing that came out of the menu was a leaflet that said that dishes with crabs were 2.50 euros more expensive. This is due to the high price of crabs. Well, that must be a good portion of crabs, I thought. But when plaice with crabs and fried potatoes was served, I asked myself where the crabs were. In other restaurants, this manageable number of crabs is considered a garnish at most. The plaice was well fried, others can do that too. The fried potatoes were standard and not particularly noteworthy. The crabs were served in such a small quantity that a premium doesn't seem justified. However, this appeared on the invoice. The bill of over 30.00 EURO per person for the meal alone is disproportionate to the service provided. We will avoid this restaurant in the future.

Yesterday we had dinner here with 10 people. We decided to sit outside in the nice weather. Although the table inside was reserved, it was no problem getting tables on the terrace. We were welcomed very nicely. Everything is very warm and familiar here. The drinks came quickly. The food was very lovingly prepared, the portions were unexpectedly large and the price-performance ratio in general was really impressive. We weren't there for the first time and definitely not the last. Big praise to all employees and the boss.

We didn't even come to eat. We were brushed off at the entrance because we had a dog with us. Even at the entrance Terrace (the restaurant was empty as well as the terrace). Statement from the staff it has already rained 20 times today. Tip to all dog owners not to go there, not even on the terrace. We then went to the harbor and had an excellent meal in a renowned restaurant. Our dog was even welcome in the guest room.

The schnitzel is flattened until it no longer works. Fries tasted like old fat. Ok, the prices are up everywhere but almost 20 euros for a Jägerschnitzel, although the sauce was still very thin and watery and didn't taste good. So I can't recommend this store. It's best not to stop at all. And then only cash payment possible! Conclusion ! Once and never again !!
