Restaurant Zollhaus zu Gottorf ( Veranstaltungsrestaurant ) in Schleswig

If it were possible, zero stars would be due here... Wedding celebration: Communication with the tenant, Mr. Vraae, was lengthy from the start, but friendly and courteous. However, months passed before the final offer was made. Nevertheless, we were convinced that it would be good. The location itself is incredibly beautiful. More for small companies. A beautiful garden with a terrace can also be used. Until 1:30 a.m. everything was fine and went as planned. Suddenly Mr. Vraae asked us how long the celebration would last and that 2 o'clock was the latest to end the celebration. Perplexed by this announcement, we and the guests tried to talk. But in vain...The service staff started clearing the tables and even mopping the floor at 2 a.m. sharp. The party was still in full swing…more than sad we were more or less thrown out… The next thing happened the next morning: when paying, Mr. Vraae wanted to charge for the drinks individually, even though we had signed an offer with a flat rate for drinks. So we should have paid twice as much. Of course we didn't agree to that. We were portrayed in a very unfriendly manner, more or less as drunks, because !!2!! whole bottles of ouzo were empty...at a wedding reception...what should we do? Call the police? We somehow came to an agreement. We will never set foot in the Zollhaus restaurant again!

We were guests in the associated hotel and dined here on the evening of our arrival. Due to the strong competition in the area, things are not easy for the restaurant. The food was extremely tasty, but the prices were typically high for a hotel restaurant. We sat in the back yard, which is a really good place to hang out. There are also enough umbrellas to provide some protection in the sunny evening hours. If I order a Viennese veal schnitzel, I would like to eat as close to the original as possible. For me that means: big and flattened, classically breaded and fried in clarified butter. However, I received two smaller, relatively thick schnitzels, which were also breaded with panko and had no bubbles in the breading. The taste was still great! The side dish could be a little more generous - it should satisfy your hunger :)

We were there for a late lunch today. Great atmosphere on the terrace. Besides one other guest, we were the only ones there. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. But nonetheless, we were very satisfied. A small, clear menu, nice service and very dog-friendly. The food and drinks were very tasty. The prices are completely okay. We can only recommend it.

Service okay, but nothing more. The food was cold and the prices were salty. 2 stars for the nice ambience. Otherwise not recommended.

Very nice, newly renovated restaurant in the castle park. Food excellent!

Wir waren heute dort und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Eine kleine feine Karte. Das Restaurant verdient mehr Aufmerksamkeit . Schönes Ambiente. Bieten auch selbstgemachten Kuchen.

We satyed at this small and well restored hotel for three days, even estended out stay as we enjoyed it so much. The breakfast is unbelieavle, the scrambled eggs were made to order, delicate and soft. Freshly squeezed jouces, müesli, delicate fruist salad etc are just some of the delicacies available.

Beim Frühjstück habe ich in Hotels schon viel erlebt. Im Hotel Zollhaus gibt es einssher gutes Frühstück. Sehr abwechslungsreich, Rührei wird frisch zubereitet. Hier blieb kein Wunsch offen. Alles in einem schönen Ambiente. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam, schnell und freundlich. Und alles für 7,50 €.

Our accommodation did not provide breakfast, but a coupon for €10 breakfast at the Zollhaus (€15 w/o coupon). Extensive cold buffet (including best hot smoked salmon ever) plus eggs to order.
