A fantastic lunch! The fries were delicious and perfectly salted (not too little, not too much). The meats on my mixed grill were high quality and very tender. The sauces were served separately, which was a nice touch. The lunch menu offered excellent value for money, and the portion size of the mixed grill was superb! My only minor criticism is that my Coke didn't taste like the original Coke but rather like some other, inferior brand. But that's really nitpicking.

We spontaneously stopped by the restaurant while we were on a short break in Schleswig. It was so cozy, the young waiter was super friendly, and the food was incredibly delicious 👍😍. What more could you want?! We'll definitely be back! ❣️ Thank you so much! 🙏

Wow, I haven't been here in a long time. A very, very nice and inviting restaurant. The waitress seemed to be having a bad day... very unfriendly, almost rude. But the young man quickly made everything right again. His service was excellent. Friendly and attentive... that's how it should be! 🙏

The restaurant has changed owners and chefs relatively often. Currently, the food quality and selection are good, although quite greasy. However, the restaurant is outdated and dusty.

It's always a lovely meal at Mühlenbach. You have to reserve in advance, otherwise you'll rarely get a table. The food is delicious and the portions are really generous. The service is exceptionally friendly.

The food was simple but tasty. Unfortunately, the turkey steak was a bit dry, but according to the waitress, that's normal. The ambiance is very pleasantly rustic.

A rare, wonderful experience. We had a wonderful dinner with five friends on Sunday evening. I apparently left my wallet in the restaurant, but the next day, someone from the Mühlenbach team came to my house and returned it to me before I even noticed it was gone.

The food was delicious. The service was really very friendly. Special praise goes to Niklas, who was a really nice waitress.

Sometimes it's the simple things. I had the sauerfleisch (sauer meat) with fried potatoes. Remoulade was good. Fried potatoes were very good (as always). Sauerfleisch was super good. Normally, you get relatively dry meat cubes. Here, it's slices that are juicy and tender. Absolutely top-notch.

The restaurant is one of the best in the area. I've rarely experienced such a diverse range of meats served to perfection. Everything is always served table by table. And even if one person at the table has fish, another has fillet steak, another has rump steak, and a fourth has pork medallions, everything is piping hot and cooked to perfection. No one has to wait for their food; everyone can start at the same time... Plus, the prices are really reasonable, and the food is worth every cent.

We were at Mühlenbach yesterday. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The salad dressing was watered down, as if it had been slightly diluted. We had two of the gypsy skewers. They were tasty, but: I didn't want fries, preferring a baked potato. This also took away the rice from the plate. I found the meat bland. My husband's steak had a thick tendon, and mine also had two smaller tendons. The baked potato didn't have much flavor. We waited in vain for a "distributor" afterward. I know, though, that they usually offer them... maybe only for certain guests 🤷 We've been to this restaurant several times and aren't used to such mediocre quality. What a shame....

We were there on July 7, 2025. First of all, the atmosphere was nice, even if it was a bit loud. And the female waitress was very friendly! However, I was very unpleasantly surprised when I was served the hot fried plaice on melamine dishes. Of course, it wasn't the waitress's fault. The salad, meanwhile, was served on a porcelain plate. Using such plastic dishes is completely unacceptable for a restaurant!!! 😠 When you're paying mid-€20 for a meal, you don't want to eat from plastic/plastic dishes. Since I was hungry and tired, I reacted incorrectly in the situation. I didn't complain. Somehow, I didn't like the dish very much, probably because I already suspected from touching the material that it was melamine and I knew about the health risks. I then discovered at the vacation home that it was a melamine plate because, after eating, I photographed the manufacturer "Qsquared" on the underside of the plate and did some research. It turns out that this American company sells melamine catering tableware... To the OWNER or operator: In case you don't already know: Melamine is hazardous to health. The consumer protection agency advises against it: They sometimes write that melamine and formaldehyde have shown harmful effects in animal studies. Improper handling, such as placing dishes at temperatures over 70°C on such tableware, can cause formaldehyde and melamine to migrate into the food! Household items containing melamine should only be exposed to temperatures up to 70°C. Hot liquids like coffee or soup should also not come into contact with them. I can very well imagine that I ingested the substances, because you can't expect a cook to measure the dish with a thermometer until it reaches 69°C.

The food is very good. The ambiance is pleasant. Unfortunately, we weren't asked if we wanted anything else after our meal. But I can live with that.

Four of us dined at this lovely restaurant in Schleswig's old town. We enjoyed a cozy atmosphere and very good, delicious food. The grilled liver is highly recommended, and the rump steak was cooked to perfection. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Our review would be better if the lady who served us had been a bit friendlier and didn't have that aura and demeanor that resembled a lieutenant. A little smile, even if it's difficult, goes a long way toward making a good impression on guests. The food was very, very delicious 👍 Kudos to the kitchen. The Schlei flounder and Mattjes (shrimp) with fried potatoes are highly recommended. We'd be happy to come back.

We went there for dinner last night (made a last-minute reservation by phone in the afternoon) and it was absolutely delicious! A lovely atmosphere inside, very friendly service, and incredibly delicious food 😋😋😋 We highly recommend it!

We decided at short notice to eat here. As a result, we didn't have a reservation! The unfriendly waitress simply said "outside," which meant that the only available seats were outside. We left because that's a polite way to say something like that!

An absolute stroke of luck! We spontaneously stopped by Mühlen-Bach in Schleswig yesterday and just barely managed to get a seat – that speaks volumes! The service was consistently friendly, attentive, and quick. The food was simply outstanding – especially the meat, which was cooked to perfection. The price was absolutely fair, too, especially considering the quality and portion size. All in all, a successful evening – we'll definitely be back!

I just came back from the restaurant. The meal was plentiful and delicious. One member of my group didn't like the peppercorn sauce. When I asked the staff if everything was okay, the peppercorn steak said the sauce wasn't right. The waitresses should attend a seminar where they learn about friendliness and communication. If not, they should save themselves the trouble of asking if everything was okay! Regards Reinhold

The two of us were turned away in a very rude manner, with no indication of whether we could simply come back in an hour, for example. There were still tables available, including a few that didn't have "reserved" signs.

We had truly delicious Schlei flounder (I would have served it the other way around, white side up) with perfectly cooked fried potatoes at an unbeatable lunch price. The regular price was also reasonable! The waiters—we had several of them—were friendly, seemed a bit overworked, but were still attentive. We'd love to come back!

Delicious sauerkraut and salad with turkey breast for lunch. Very fair prices, very generous portions. Shortly before 1:00, all the tables were occupied.

Very tasty, but since I like sauces, it was unfortunately too little for such a large schnitzel. Otherwise, everything was perfect, even a spot was free.

The food wasn't what we were used to. The pepper skewer for €24 was far too one-sided. Meat and croquettes or hash browns—you're sick of eating. The turkey steak was OK. The broccoli was too firm for my taste, and there wasn't enough hollandaise sauce. We're considering eating there again. We actually liked eating there before the change of ownership.

We had a grilled platter. It was very good value for money, but unfortunately the fries were hard. The atmosphere was very friendly and pleasant. It's nice to sit outside and listen to the brook.

The taste was delicious and the price was completely reasonable. I had the pork medallions, which could have done with a shorter heat. The young waitress was super nice. A lady from the waitressing room should take a leaf out of his book. The chairs at our table were worn out. I was afraid to lean on them because the chair legs would move—not an isolated incident. Unfortunately, the drinks supply was completely off today.

The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was nice. We were served by a very nice and friendly young man and a lady who could have learned a little from the young man.

The food was good, the service poor. We weren't even greeted when we went outside. Two women served us, one of whom was extremely grumpy, apparently a stranger. They didn't even ask if everything was okay, and we couldn't order the obligatory coffee after our meal because no one came after the main course. For the same reason, we had to go inside to pay ourselves—we've had much better experiences in Schleswig.

Mühlenbach is always worth a visit, whether for lunch or dinner. The selection of food and drinks is extensive, and the quality of the ingredients and the loving preparation are particularly noteworthy. Grillteller and snitzel ala balkan tasted ok, but it looked incredibly boring on the plate. It seemed like it was all bought ready-made in the local supermarket. It didn't taste bad, but it was definitely not homemade.

Nice place on the city centre walkaway. Arrived one hour before closing time. Service wasn't pleasant, to say the least. We were pressed to decide yet didn't receive a clear explanation on the options, although it was clear we are turist who doesn't speak German. Ordered onion and tomato soup that were good. Ordered 3 steaks plate medium rare that came medium well. When we wanted to order dessert, we were told the kitchen was closed. I would expect the weiter to ask us in advance if we wish for desert before closing the kitchen. Guess it all could have been different if the service was better

The entrance is inconspicuous in a side street. You come in and immediately feel at home... very nicely decorated. The waitress was very friendly... there was a lot to do but they always walked around with a smile.

Very loud and the waitress seemed to prefer flirting with an acquaintance and being on her cell phone rather than doing her job with commitment. Another had put on a very pungent perfume. Although the cook wore gloves, he also touched the telephone and waiter's wallet with them. Well, it has lost its charm, and the food was more okay than good.

It was much better in Mühlenbach. Today we were there for lunch (Sunday), a fillet steak was ok and then a completely burnt potato, after complaining another burnt potato arrived. I've been to Mühlenbach several times. However, it's been 5-10 years. At that time we were super happy with the food. Everything really tasted very good. Service was always great. The only thing I could have complained about was the temperature in winter. Now my girlfriend invited me to dinner on a Thursday. We went to Mühlenbach. - Pepper steak with fries - Children's meal steak with croquettes - Cordon Bleu with fries - Rump steak with baked potato I had pepper steak there. The steak was well cooked. Medium, as I ordered. But I didn't like the sauce at all. Not even a salad first. Steak and fries served very carelessly. The children's meal with the steak was too small. My 12 year old son wasn't fed. No indication of weight in the menu. The croquettes could have been swimming in the deep fryer for 2 minutes less. A large plate, steak and croquettes carelessly arranged. The cordon bleu was probably in the deep fryer too. A little too long. Taste OK. But the whole thing was also done very carelessly. My girlfriend liked the rump steak. Even if there was no salad and the plate was simply too big for the amount of meat and potatoes. We had a large Cola Zero, 2 small Kiba, 1 large OJ and a non-alcoholic wheat beer. The bill was just under 110 euros. I will no longer go to Mühlenbach in the future. For the price you can get better quality elsewhere. It's a shame, it used to be really good there. In terms of quality, a huge difference to today.

Saturday evening. You are greeted by a waiter in a faded, baggy T-shirt. Then you sit down on sagging chairs, not very comfortable. The decor is otherwise comfortable. The order was taken quickly and the food came very quickly. I had a carelessly prepared gypsy skewer, see photo, which tasted okay but nothing special. My wife ordered the liver. She came to the table burnt black. We complained and were given a new portion. This time they were all small, wafer-thin pieces, completely covered in tendons, inedible. The fries were soggy. My wife had lost her appetite. Your menu has not been calculated. The store was completely booked. I don't know why, I eat better at home, I don't have to go to the restaurant.

No, I can't recommend the restaurant. We, a small group of friends of 10 people, wanted to go there on December 14th. celebrate Christmas. I had made a reservation for us 6 weeks in advance. It should be a location in the next room. 3 weeks later personally agreed again. No objections. The agreement remained. 2 days before the appointment. Confirmed again by phone. Then the day came and, contrary to what had been agreed, we were deported to the middle of the restaurant. Opposite the front door where it was drafty and cold. The agreement was not kept. We were owed an explanation! We will all avoid this place in the future. You can't avoid guests like that.

Unfortunately no flexibility with the staff. It was not possible to swap a table even though there were no guests there yet. I didn't feel welcome at all either. Very unfortunate.

I was in Mühlenbach yesterday. 5 stars in all areas! Although the restaurant was very busy, with several large parties (Christmas parties), the dishes we ordered were very, very good. The steaks were cooked to perfection and all the sides were hot. Conditions were very attentive despite having their hands full. We'd love to come back!

Had a really good lunch here. Tried a mincemeat "beef" that was absolutely fabulous. Filled with cheese and served with a rice/vegetable mix and fries we were more than satisfied. Staff were observant and fast and the price was reasonable to say the least. Well done!

Ordered lunch to go from the Mühlen-Bach restaurant for the first time today and I have to say? You convinced me very much. Very good portion, very tasty and seasoned appropriately. Rarely eaten so well outside. In addition: Very friendly and, above all, smiling staff!

Easily accessible by wheelchair. Toilets too narrow for wheelchairs.

The price-performance ratio is very good! Reservation strongly recommended!
