Restaurant Mühlen-Bach in Schleswig

I was in Mühlenbach yesterday. 5 stars in all areas! Although the restaurant was very busy, with several large parties (Christmas parties), the dishes we ordered were very, very good. The steaks were cooked to perfection and all the sides were hot. Conditions were very attentive despite having their hands full. We'd love to come back!

Had a really good lunch here. Tried a mincemeat "beef" that was absolutely fabulous. Filled with cheese and served with a rice/vegetable mix and fries we were more than satisfied. Staff were observant and fast and the price was reasonable to say the least. Well done!

There is plenty of delicious food here. You just notice the stress on the staff. Nevertheless, a highly recommended restaurant.

Ordered lunch to go from the Mühlen-Bach restaurant for the first time today and I have to say? You convinced me very much. Very good portion, very tasty and seasoned appropriately. Rarely eaten so well outside. In addition: Very friendly and, above all, smiling staff!

Always delicious, nice ambience and service-oriented service. Edit November 7, 2024 The portions have become smaller and for the second time the food was only lukewarm. The young waitress yesterday may have been too inexperienced, so it came across as very arrogant.

We had dinner here with the family at the weekend. The food itself was very good and the steak in particular was one of the best I have ever eaten. But unfortunately the side dishes are so sparse that you won't feel full. The “Funny Bosnian” for just under 25 euros came with 4 croquettes and the pepper steak for 25 euros also included a homeopathic amount of fries. It's a real shame, it significantly spoils the absolutely positive overall impression. The service was error-free and OK, but a bit grumpy and not exactly friendly.

We went to Mühlenbach for dinner today and absolutely loved it. Very tasty food, rib eye steak fried to perfection - my "funny Bosnian" (beef cordon bleu) also very tender, fries crispy and salads fresh and tasty - very good sauce! Service quick and very friendly! All in all, an absolutely harmonious and beautiful evening! We are on vacation here until the end of the week and will definitely come back a second time!

Disaster! I went there with a date, the food was okay but nothing special. But the service was an absolute disaster. Unfriendly to no end and after eating we were increasingly pressured to leave the restaurant, even though there were other guests in the restaurant. So the plates were simply taken away, and shortly afterwards the glasses, one of which was still 1/3 full. Then suddenly the bill was brought without asking. Something like that is absolutely not appropriate and we definitely won't be coming back.

Delicious lunch with a very good price/performance ratio. The service was a bit bitchy at the beginning but it was the same at the end of the lunch time. Technically the service was impeccable

Very nice restaurant and very well priced. Great ambience, large enough portions that are also very delicious. This is definitely a tip for everyone who likes to eat meat and likes Croatian/Balkan cuisine.

Two stars deducted because you obviously can't stick to your own opening times posted on the door and on the internet and we didn't get an espresso or dessert after our meal at 8:38 p.m., even though it wasn't supposed to close until 9:30 p.m.! At around 8 p.m. half of the restaurant (winter garden) was closed and the lights were turned off, which became very uncomfortable. If you can't rely on opening times without having to compromise on quality and comfort, we'd rather go to another restaurant in the evening. The food was normally good and roughly met normal expectations.

Great food, great atmosphere great service

Today, after a long time, we had lunch at Mühlenbach again. The food wasn't bad. My wife and our friend had a Balkan style schnitzel. They used to say gypsy schnitzel. My friend and I had the grill plate with fries. So far so good. The sauce for the schnitzel was more than clear. About 2 tablespoons. When we asked if we could get some more sauce, we got it. For the fries I asked for ketchup and mayo. Also received. Now let's get to the payment. The sauce for the schnitzel was €3.50 and the ketchup and mayo were €0.50 each. That's what I call sporty or, in German, a pure rip-off. We were not informed that you had to pay extra for sauce and ketchup and mayo. A little tip for the restaurateur: you could also take money for the seat. But then please leave a notice on the door that the guest is being ripped off here. It used to be great, but not again today. I'm curious to see whether the operator will respond to my review here. My tip to everyone: There are more honest and better restaurants in our Schleswig.

Top recommendation. . The steak plate was delicious, the meat was cooked to perfection. Be sure to reserve as it is very busy.

It's been a long time since we've spontaneously eaten at Mühlenbach again. After the initial joy that we spontaneously got a table, the disappointment began with the second service person. She was very lacking in empathy, took the order annoyed, without making eye contact with the customer and left very quickly. True to the motto, the customers are annoying and if I leave quickly, then they won't bother me. A lady like that doesn't belong in the service, sorry Then came the food, a starter of baked soft cheese and salad. Everything okay. There was also a salad with my grill plate, in response to my comments that I had already had one, the "nice" service person said that salad is healthy, the salad was put on the table and it was gone again. The rice on my grill plate, which I was so looking forward to, tasted so artificially artificial that you inevitably had the feeling that you were eating a finished product. Very bad. The meat and fries were okay. My partner had the pork medallions with broccoli and fries. Fries okay, broccoli watery and one of the medallions not cooked properly. In short, it was a disappointment, when our "nice" waitress came to clear away and asked if everything was tasty, we explained our displeasure to her, she just looked, didn't comment on what we said, she turned around without a word and disappeared like the others Sometimes too, again very quickly. The other colleague came over to pay. Conclusion from us: The Mühlenbach has clearly deteriorated in quality, both in the kitchen and in the service. You're no longer on our agenda, which is a shame.

The food was good. Service was a bit slow. And it wasn't really clean either.

Price-performance was simply poor, perhaps it is due to the austerity measures that were announced to us on site.

Correction: Unfortunately, the food has become significantly worse and less. Broccoli wasn't cooked through, chicken was dry and the rump steak was raw. All in all, unfortunately disappointed. New operation seems unmotivated. Always tastes very good, pleasant atmosphere and top food. Mühlenbach pan/skewer but also dishes like the stuffed minced steak are super delicious! We can only recommend it and go there regularly.

Well-run restaurant with affordable lunch!

I had the 300 g rump steak with fries, toasted bread and herb butter for €22.90. It was excellent and the price-performance ratio was definitely right. Highly recommended!

The angriest waiter I have met so far

The location and ambience of the restaurant are very nice. The food, however, was so close to the point where we simply let it go back. On top of the overcooked, watery broccoli were yellow cream sausages that were supposed to be the hollandaise sauce. This came from a large tube and tasted like something between turpentine and sour milk, slightly sweetened. The meat was OK. Next to the whole thing there were exactly four croquettes that were rather dry. The side salad was monotonous and covered in a boring ready-made dressing. Overall, the food was of a below-average snack quality, which was neither appropriate to the standards of the restaurant nor to the price, which was not at all low. When the waitress asked us whether we liked it, we said no. She then became offended instead of concerned and explained snidely that the sauces and dressings were of course ready-made. And of course there are no more than four croquettes at lunch, that's obvious. Unfortunately, our only recommendation is to have a drink outside by the Mühlbach.

There were three of us as a family with adults. In transit and looking for a restaurant with lunch. FOUND. Everything was great, toilets were clean too.

We were disappointed. We spontaneously went here for dinner a few days ago and managed to get a seat. In order to accommodate as many guests as possible, two tables for two were placed in one place in the room instead of one normal table, separated by a 30 cm wide useless Alibi room divider. My wife understood the loud words of her "seatmate" better than what I said and I felt uncomfortable in this narrow space. A private conversation was impossible. Overall, the place was full and everything was very loud. I can't say anything positive or negative about the staff. A beer that was listed as non-alcoholic on the menu turned out to be a known printing error when ordered. Then why isn’t it just deleted? The food wasn't good, but not bad either. For us there is therefore no great incentive to visit again.

We've enjoyed eating there for years and it's always been good. Now the old owners are gone, new owner and new chef and the food was equally bad. We won't eat there anymore. Too bad 😐😑

We were here for a small family celebration with a total of 4 people. My dish (pepper steak) was very good, even if I had imagined the pepper sauce to be a little different. This was more "tomato-sour", I was expecting a cream sauce. But the taste was completely fine, the meat was great and the side dishes were also delicious. Apparently I was lucky with my choice, not everyone present was happy with their food. I can actually only complain about my drink, I had a large Alster that was rather "stacked"... ...the pure beer on top, the lemonade on the bottom. Personally, I would still like to visit the restaurant again given the opportunity. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the price-performance ratio because I haven't seen the invoice.

Grill plates/chips and matjes/fried potatoes fantastic. At lunchtime all the tables were occupied, which was hardly surprising. It wasn't until around 2 p.m. that things became quieter.

Thanks to a previous recommendation, we really enjoy eating here. The ambience is very pleasant, creating a nice atmosphere for dining. The quality of the food here is also very good. There is something for everyone here and everything tastes exceptionally good. We always like to come back :)

What a great find! Very warm welcome, most delicious food (I had a schnitzel and my husband had Gypsy skewers). We travel with a small dog and there was no problem in accommodating him as well (unlike any other place in town). Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ich wahr 2 mal dort und ja hätte nicht sein müssen also an Dalmatien oder Adria aus Rendsburg kommt das Restaurant lange nicht an. Man muss leider auch gucken was man isst, es wäre besser wenn Sie die Steakkarte etwas verkleinern da es nicht zu Ihren Stärken gehört und die Platten für 2 Personen wahren nur solala also seit wann gehören 2 Scheiben trockenes Toastbrot unters Fleisch was echt nicht Appetitlich aussieht und was auch nur die Feuchtigkeit aufsaugt, und die Portionen waren auch echt mager und das für 38€ das wahr mir zu teuer, und wir gehen auch lieber woanders essen als da

Das Essen war gut, allerdings nicht besonders warm.

Das Ambiente ist schick und modern, aber trotzdem gemütlich und in das historische Haus perfekt eingebunden. Das Team ist freundlich und schnell. Die Qualität des Essens, besonders der Schwerpunkt Steaks verschiedenster Arten, ist hervorragend, die gewünschte Garstufe wird perfekt erreicht, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist einwandfrei.

Das beste Restaurant in Schleswig und Umgebung. Super Essen, super Service. Preis/Leistung top. Besser geht's nicht. Die Steaks sind ein absolutes Muss. Immer wieder ein Genuss.

Wir sind immer gerne dort und regelmäßig essen gegangen. Seit der Umgestaltung mit den Fliesen und den Spiegeln, der schlichten Kunst an der Wand, fehlt uns die Gemütlichkeit und es ist leider sehr laut dort geworden. Das Essen ist gut, das Fleisch ist super, die drei Kroketten und die drei Brokkoli-Röschen eher enttäuschend. Die Bedienung hatte halt viel zu tun … schade. Wir lassen zum nächsten Besuch etwas Zeit verstreichen
