Kaphörnchen und Eishörnchen am Stadthafen in Schleswig

Die fast täglich wechselnden Eissorten sind 1A. Wir wurden durch einen Bekannten aus Gelsenkirchen hierher gesandt. Auch die Menge à 2€ je Kugel ist mehr als fair. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall gerne wieder.

Mega lecker und zu empfehlen für groß und klein.

Wir sind mindestens 2 mal die Woche nachmittags zum Kaffee oder Eisessen dort. Der Service und das Eis ist super. Leider hat das Restaurant eine Reinigungskraft, die einem einen Mittelfinger zeigt, wenn man morgens früh vor dem Lokal parkt und sie alleine im Restaurant ist. Diese Person passt so garnicht zu dem sonst so netten Personal. Schade.

Sehr sauber und alles super legga

Getränke und Essen waren sehr lecker. Der Service wirkte ein wenig unkoordiniert, aber alles in allem ok. Wir hätten uns ein wenig mehr Unterstützung gewünscht, besonders weil wir mit 2 körperlich eingeschränkten Personen unterwegs waren. Das Ambiente war eine Kombination aus liebevoll und zweckmäßig.

Nachdem mir eine sehr junge Kellnerin erzählen wollte, das Aperol Spritz niemals mit Selter gemacht wird, musste ich doch etwas schmunzeln. Sie sagte mir gleich, dass ich anscheinend keine Erfahrung hätte. Habe ich auch nicht nach 31 Jahren Gastroerfahrung. Die Pommes sind immer lecker. Bei den Getränken würde ich mir wünschen, das beim Aperol z.b auch wirklich 4 cl reinkommen und nicht 2 cl. Sonst ist es eine schöne Location.

Um es kurz zu halten: Top! Geht hin, genießt Essen und trinken, das schöne Ambiente, die super lieben Mitarbeiter und lasst euch eine frische Briese um die Nase wehen. Hunde sind willkommen und reservieren empfehlenswert.

Service so gut wie nicht vorhanden, Selbstbedienung. Lediglich das Essen wird dann zum Tisch gebracht. Das Essen schmeckte, könnte jeder deutlich heißer sein. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, direkt am Hafen mit Wasserblick. Das Eis ist lecker, jedoch nicht zum Verzehr im Restaurant gedacht, sondern To-Go. Insgesamt würden wir nicht wiederkommen um vor Ort zu essen.

Wir waren zu zweit dort, das erste Mal. Das Essen ist gut. Ich hatte den Burger und meine Frau eine Waffel. Leider bekam ich mein Essen fast 10 Minuten später als meine Frau. Dafür hatte ich schon mein Getränk, aber das von meiner Frau wurde vergessen. Die Lage mit Blick auf die Schlei ist empfehlenswert. In Anbetracht der hohen Preise sollte der Sevice besser sein, insbesondere bei der Selbstbedienung.

Aufgrund der saftigen Preise könnte man zumindest auf einen Service am Tisch hoffen, aber nein, Selbstbedienung. Wenn dann im Restaurant kein Eis verkauft wird, sondern nur am Straßenfenster, bekommt man immer mehr den Eindruck einer mittelmäßigen Eisdiele. Den selbst wenn man im Restaurant einen Tisch belegt, bekommt man nur den Pappbecher vom Straßenverkauf. Das dann das Eis nur noch flüssig war, weil wohl die Kühlung am Samstag Mittag nicht funktioniert, ist dann nicht mehr nur Nebensache. Als dann zuletzt unsere Selbstbedienungsnummer auch noch vergessen wurde, war das mein letzter Besuch im hochgelobten Kaphörnchen.

Tolles Café und Restaurant in einer tollen Lage. Mein erster und letzter Besuch wenn ich in Schleswig bin ist immer dort mit leckerer weißer heißer Schokolade.

Das Essen und das Eis war bisher im Durchschnitt echt lecker. Alles ist frisch und direkt zubereitet. Oft wartet man aber echt extrem lange auf sein Essen. Teilweise ist fast niemand da und trotzdem wartet man echt lange (teilweise über 30min) zB. auf ein Frühstück und dann ist es nichtmal zeitgleich fertig. Das Ambiente ist im mexikanischen Stil und gefällt mir persönlich sehr gut, leider schluckt nichts in diesem Raum die Geräuschkulisse. Wir waren schon sehr häufig da und drinnen schreit man sich teilweise an, damit man sich bei der Lautstärke verständigen kann. Dann lieber wenns passt draußen sitzen :)

Ich kann die warmen Speisen leider nicht empfehlen, schlechtes Essen mit extrem langer Wartezeit.

Direkt am Hafen und ein wunderbarer Blick. Sehr viel Eis Auswahl und das Eis ist sehr lecker. Diese Eisdiele kann ich weiterempfehlen.

Eis und Sahne war top, ich weiß nicht ob der Kollege ein bisschen viel Sahne drauf gemacht hat oder der Automat kaputt war ,aber es war genug...😉

Kleiner netter Laden direkt am Wasser.

Wir gehen regelmäßig zu Kaphörnchen Eis essen, und jedes Mal ist es ein echtes Highlight. Das Eis ist nicht nur durchgehend lecker, sondern die große Auswahl an Sorten ist einfach fantastisch. Man merkt, dass der Besitzer mit Leidenschaft dabei ist – ständig gibt es neue, kreative Eissorten, die man unbedingt probieren möchte. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Größe der Eiskugeln. Hier bekommt man wirklich etwas für sein Geld, ohne dass die Qualität darunter leidet. Freundlicher Service, tolle Atmosphäre und Eis, das man so schnell nicht vergisst. Absolute Empfehlung für alle Eisliebhaber.

Sehr leckere heiße Schokolade mit Minze: unbedingt probieren!

Die Luke ist einfach zu klein, der Nächste knabbert schon am Hals, um gucken zu können, welche Sorten es gibt. Von den Preisen und der Kugelgröße brauchen wir nicht reden, Monopolstatus.

Habe die Rezensionen gelesen. Ok. Die Akustik ist nicht die beste. Die Mitarbeitenden sind alle ausgesprochen freundlich. Und das Essen: sehr lecker. Wir waren in Mexiko. Und das hier kam dem Futter in Mexiko schon sehr nahe. Und die Preise? Wir haben gerade 8 Tage auf Sylt verbracht. Das ist hier geradezu ein Schlaraffenland. Gutes hat eben seinen Preis. Wir würden hier immer wieder gerne essen

12 Euro für 3 x 2 Kugeln in der Waffel - sooo kleine Kugeln - unverschämt! Wir haben uns beschwert 🤷‍♀️ Definitiv nicht zu empfehlen!

Das Kap Hörnchen hat für mich auch eine persönliche Bedeutung. Früher waren unsere Familien befreundet und ich bin als Kind oft in ihrem kleinen Laden in der Innenstadt gewesen. Ich habe nur gute Erinnerungen daran. Es wurde immer freundlich mit einem umgegangen und man hat sich willkommen gefühlt. Auch wenn wir heute nicht mehr wirklich Kontakt haben, freue ich mich sehr zu sehen, was daraus geworden ist. Kap Hörnchen ist mittlerweile wahrscheinlich einer der besten Orte in Schleswig, um sich mit Freunden zu treffen, ein Eis zu essen, etwas zu trinken oder eine Kleinigkeit zu essen. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannt, der Service freundlich und es ist einfach ein schöner Spot, um Zeit zu verbringen, besonders bei gutem Wetter. Man merkt, dass viel Herz in dem Laden steckt. Für mich definitiv ein fester Bestandteil von Schleswig und immer einen Besuch wert. 😊

Super Location am Schleswiger Hafen. Leider dur eine unschöne Erfahrung durch eine 60+ Frau die ich dort vorher nicht gesehen hatte , sie sagte das unsere 4 köpfige nachmittags Unterhaltung zu laut sei und wir uns doch leiser unterhalten mögen. Wir unterhielten uns ganz normal, genau wie die anderen ca. 15 Gäste. Sie meinte es wäre vielleicht der Sitzplatz der es besonders schallen ließ. Meine Idee dazu das man dann vielleicht mit Schallschutz an der Decke was machen sollte anstatt die Gäste so zu beschränken.. " es sei in Arbeit" komisch das erst wir dann "negativ" laut seien . Der Laden besteht so seit mehr als 10 Jahren und heute sind wir zu laut ? Wenn es so wäre, warum hat man nicht schon längst Maßnahmen ergriffen um es zu verhindern das 4 Gäste in der Mitte des Lokals so "laut" sind das sie angeblich alle anderen stören . Für uns was es wirklich unangenehm so angesprochen zu werden , sie hatte sich nicht einmal vorgestellt, auf meine Frage wer sie sei , hatte sie mit dem Finger auf ihre Schürze gezeigt und sagte das sie hier das Hausrecht habe . Sehr unangenehme Situation. Sehr fragwürdige Aktion dieser Dame. Das Auftreten und die Artikulation von der Tellerwäscherin hätte besser sein können als von dieser Person. Fazit wenn es in bestimmten Bereichen eines Lokals durch ungünstige bauliche Gegebenheiten dazu führen kann das sich normal unterhaltende Gäste, genau wie alle anderen auch , dann wäre von Seiten der Betreiber dieses Gasthauses sicherlich deutlich ratsamer Maßnahmen zu ergreifen dem Gebäude die Schallfläche zu entschärfen anstatt den Gästen die Unterhaltung zu begrenzen. Für mich war das eine Erfahrung die ich nicht nochmal machen werde. Es gibt in Schleswiger Hafennähe mehr als nur ein Lokal. Schade . Ach ja . Kuchen war lecker . Bedient wird man nicht . Preise für die Portionsgröße für mein Geschmack überteuert. Kann man machen, wir sicher nicht noch einmal. Die Art und Weise ist auch ein Aushängeschild. Das andere Personal war durchaus ansprechender . Nachtrag, ich hab gerade nochmal die anderen Rezensionen durchgelesen, das Schallthema ist allgegenwärtig, warum ändert man nicht einfach was im Gebäude. Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten die sicher auch erschwinglich sind anstatt Gäste zu reglementieren. Genauso der fehlende Service und öfter wird von einer und freundlichen Dame geschrieben. Was genau meinen Eindruck verstärkt. Zu hohe Preise sind auch des öfteren zu lesen . Alles in allem nicht empfehlenswert. Hatte dieser laden nicht die Lage , waren sie sicher schon lange nicht mehr existent.

Eigentlich sind wir gerne da, aber heute wurden wir sehr enttäuscht! Die Kugel Eis war so klein, das man denken konnte, dass sie mit einem Teelöffel aufgefüllt wurde! Dafür dann pro Kugel 2€!? Sorry das ist leider zu viel! Streusel, die auch mitbezahlt wurden, konnte man zählen! So wenige waren es! Wir hoffen das es sich bis zum Sommer wieder bessert! 🍧🍦

Schönes, nettes Ambiente, aber schwacher Speisenauftritt, sowohl qualitativ wie auch preislich! Man kann aber hier gut sitzen und was trinken. Eis ist gut, aber brutal teuer.

Waren Sonntag vor einer Woche dort und wurden wieder mal enttäuscht. Preis Leistung stimmen hier nach wie vor nicht. Ich selbst trank einen Grog. Gefühlt war es ein Glas heißes Wasser. Wasser und Rum standen nicht in einem vernünftigen Verhältnis zueinander. Knapp 300g Wasser in einer IKEA Glastasse ist eindeutig zuviel für für 2cl HANSEN Rum und das für 7,20 Euro.

Ich liebe diesen Ort. Ich wohne in der Nähe und gehe gerne Abends noch mal zum Ausklingen des Tages dorthin. Durch das Ambiente kann man den Sonnenuntergang betrachten. Das Personal ist super nett, das Essen gut, gute Getränkeauswahl und man fühlt sich sehr willkommen. Ich liebe den Vanillequark mit Früchten.

Ein tolles Ambiente zwischen Mexikanischem Imbiss und Restaurant. Man muss an der Theke Bestellen und die Speisen werden dann zum Tisch gebracht. Die Bedienungen sehr locker und freundlich, die Plätze angenehm und das Ambiente ansprechend mit Mexikanischem Flair. Das Essen "sehr" lecker und reichlich! Empfehlenswert!

Das Essen war super aber einige Gäste dachten sie wären alleine im Restaurant (sehr laut) wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben.

Leider nicht so doll zu empfehlen. Die Dame am Tresen hat unsere Kakaos überfüllt und beim tragen ist die Hälfte über gelaufen. Leider war das ganze Tablett durchnässt und nicht mehr ansehnlich. Ich bat die junge blonde Dame darum beim nächsten mal weniger rein zu füllen. Die junge Dame war übergeschnappt und zeigte kein Verständnis. Mit der Aussage : “leider nicht”. Schlechter Service und unfreundlich und nicht bereit für Besserung Vorschläge.

Hervorragendes Eis, selbstgemacht und immer wieder neue Sorten. Wir machen gerne einen Stop hier.

I used to really enjoy coming here – for a long time, I appreciated the food and was happy to recommend the place. But my last visit, unfortunately, completely changed my mind. I recently ordered a burrito and discovered that they're now charging extra for absolutely every little thing. Even sauce and fries are now an additional charge. Honestly, where is this going? Of course, I understand that everything has gotten more expensive. But if I end up paying the same amount for an average meal as I would for a full plate at a Greek restaurant for €25, then the value for money is simply no longer there. And I'm obviously not the only one who feels this way – many others feel the same way. What particularly disappoints me: You used to feel welcome here. Now, I feel more like you, as a guest, have become a mere source of income. What a shame! Because the food was never the problem in terms of taste – it's the lack of fairness. My suggestion: Try to make less money from extras and focus more on satisfied regular customers. I'd be happy to come back if, as a guest, I didn't feel like I had to pay extra for every sauce.

Very tasty Mexican food. The beef enchilada is amazing. Also a beautiful view of the harbor and cathedral.

The way they helped me was very kind. We'll definitely be back. 3.9. It's a shame that so many staff members are already in a whirl when only half the café is full. My joy of my waffle was cut short because the waiter who had ordered after me got theirs before me. The waffle was probably already burnt, so hopefully the money was refunded to my card. I'll check. My husband's latte and cake were good.

Very delicious ice cream and very friendly service. In one week in Schleswig-Holstein and one week in Denmark, this was the best ice cream I've had. And at €2 per scoop, the price isn't outrageous, unlike all the other ice cream parlors.

Total disaster, are not able to serve an order with 2x waffles including ice cream and coffee

The strawberry and raspberry ice creams are as tart as they should be. The taste is excellent. They use plenty of fruit. The large cappuccino with organic milk, for a whopping €4.50, tastes good, and doesn't automatically come with cocoa powder. At €10.50, the strawberry cup is pure extortion. The strawberries were very fresh. Unfortunately, the bad habit of sprinkling cheap chocolate sprinkles on the strawberry cup without asking led to a new one. The service, however, was unbeatably charming and downright caring. The only ice cream parlor in Schleswig that offers caffeine-free cappuccino. The location by the harbor is relaxing. Unfortunately, they use genetically modified cocoa, so I couldn't eat any products containing cocoa. Then the scoop would cost €3, but I would even buy three of them.

Two adults, two children. We first chose drinks, then went inside at 7:59 PM, and our order was taken at 8:00 PM. The kitchen was closed. There's no more food. It's really awful to be sitting there with kids and drinks. We're going somewhere else now.

A very tasty breakfast, something different if you like beans! The coffee could have been a bit stronger for me, but everyone has different tastes. The view of the marina is fantastic; there's always something to see!

Update after some time: NO LONGER worth 5 stars! I'm suddenly supposed to pay the same price without rice as always, but I have to pay an extra €5 to get extra rice!! Absolutely not, sorry. I won't be coming back. We ate here with our children. The first positive thing was, of course, the super delicious food!! We adults loved it incredibly much. Unfortunately, my children found their kids' burrito too spicy (it was actually spicier than my husband's), which is a negative point. Thankfully, there were delicious waffles, though, which were still enough to fill their stomachs. As a parent, I would have liked a little kids' corner, but the space just doesn't allow for that. On the plus side, there's a great view of the Schlei, and the staff are very child-friendly and friendly! Since the space is a bit small and the crowds are very busy, you had to fight for seats, and the noise was sometimes a bit tiring, but I'm not deducting a star for that, because I think it's very difficult to find a good location in Schleswig. All in all, we would love to come back in the future ☺️

Café and restaurant with self-service ice cream, cakes, and Mexican dishes. The Kaphörnchen is particularly popular for ice cream. I really like the hot food and have had an excellent soup of the day several times, which was truly delicious. Vegetarians will also find something to their liking here. I wish the tables were cleaner, so it loses points for the ambiance.

The hearty food wasn't really that good for the high price. The waffles and bowls were good, though. Self-service was annoying. The restroom was clean. Nice view.

The location by the harbor is great. The food was mediocre. My enchiladas with meat and the cheese nachos were rather bland and disappointing. My wife's burrito bowl, on the other hand, was quite good – fresh and well-seasoned. The prices are quite high overall. The highlight for us was the ice cream – the rice pudding ice cream was particularly delicious!

Today we had a nut cup for €9.50 without a single nut! There was just half a tablespoon of praline sprinkled on top of the cream. I find that a disgrace. Even though the ice cream itself was tasty, I expect nuts in a nut cup.

It's gotten incredibly expensive. 33 euros for a burger with fries and a small Coke? That's unjustifiable. The prices have gone up so much. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. Addendum to the reply: The way you describe it is absolutely not correct. When the burger was included in the total price, including dips, which are now all extra, it's 33 euros!! Before, the burger, including dips and fries, was 16.90 euros, or 17.90 euros? Since you now have to pay extra for everything, it's MUCH more expensive than before. And I can definitely do the math. Guacamole costs 4 euros. That was included before. That means if I order the meal exactly as before, it's much more expensive. Then stand by your increase and don't act like your customers are too stupid to do the math!!

The ice cream at Eishörner has always been a dream; the scoops are generously portioned, and the selection of specials is very good. I've now also tried the Mexican restaurant inside and can recommend it as well. The service is super friendly; you go to the counter to order, and you don't have to wait too long for your food. However, I found it a bit expensive; I also have the feeling that all Mexican restaurants are a bit pricey.

I ordered a burger. It came with a poor bun and nothing on it. Almost no meat. Lukewarm. Warm cheese. €14. Side order costs extra. Didn't convince me. Snack bar in a good location. At these prices, you have to order at the counter yourself and then clean up after your meal. Too bad

ICE CREAM SCONES: How disappointing! This soft serve ice cream is beyond worthy. A slightly yellowish, strange mass. Tastes like pure chemistry. INEDIBLE. The only option was to throw it away.

What's a special treat at other ice cream parlors is a given here: You can create your own ice cream flavors for your chosen fruit cup. There are many delicious ice cream flavors with imaginative names. You're sitting right on Schleswig's harbor promenade, and the view is just as beautiful.

I haven't experienced such friendly and attentive service in many restaurants. The food was amazing, the coffee delicious, and the ice cream was a dream. My order was brought to the table in no time 💛 Thank you 🤩 🧑‍🦽

My wife suggested the Cape chicken – to be honest, I was a bit skeptical at first, as I'd imagined it to be more of a simple snack bar by the water. But I was definitely proven wrong! The food was truly outstanding, both visually and tastefully. This more than makes up for having to clear your own dishes. What struck me as particularly positive was that the young team working there does a really great job. Whether at the counter, at the ice cream counter, inside, or outside – there's true teamwork. Communication was brief, efficient, and everyone knew what to do. No one just stood around; instead, everyone worked attentively and proactively. If a full crockery bin was somewhere or napkins were running low, it was immediately noticed and dealt with. Many other restaurants could learn a thing or two from this. It's truly impressive how dedicated and professional young people run a restaurant like this – huge compliments to the entire team!

Nice location by the harbor, but unfortunately, the ordering process was completely disorganized – my husband waited in line for at least 10 minutes to order drinks and snacks. Then it took forever for a few snacks to arrive. The service was very friendly, and everything inside is beautifully decorated. We would have liked to order more, but the line just kept getting longer...

The ice cream was delicious, but there were a lot of flavors that didn't immediately give you a hint of what they would taste like. And when there are 20 people standing behind you, you can't really spend much time trying and considering. But whatever, thanks for having people who work when I have time off!👍

Mexican food is very special. The dishes used to be much better and more varied. Today you can choose what you want, everything tastes similar, only the "shell" is different... quesadilla, fajita, burrito etc. Ambience beautiful. There is no better place at the harbor. Unfortunately, prices are constantly being increased disproportionately. Latte macchiato now, instead of €4.50, €5.10 will soon be a luxury. 0.33 Cola now costs €4.50. Ice cream at €2 a scoop, still normal. Who knows whether there won't be an increase in the summer. So if you want to treat yourself, you're in good hands at Kaphörnchen, but if you're passionate about going out for coffee, you'll be poor! 😂

I've been to Kaphörnchen a few times because the location of the café is very nice and the food is also okay. However, the last few times I've noticed how unfriendly the staff has become. Really rude to customers. Unfortunately it was the last time I ate and drank there. Service, especially good service, is different. Quality management when it comes to dealing with customers is apparently no longer practiced or not practiced at all. Very unfortunate.

Waffles were super tasty. The food that was passed by us inspired us to come back again. The toilets were also very clean. We will come back ;)

It's a shame, what happened to the great ice cream that once existed here? Today I got a completely watered down and way too sweet scoop of vanilla ice cream on my waffle. I pushed them aside onto the plate, where an oily liquid remained after defrosting. That was my last ice cream there, sugary palm oil for €2 a scoop, no thanks!

Very good ice cream - and very tasty Mexican food (!), with a great view of the marina and the Schlei!

This place is definitely something fine for connoisseurs of Mexican cuisine, but unfortunately it wasn't suitable for people who just want to eat something quick. There were two of us and we only ordered 2 portions of fries and cheese quesadilla. We waited 45 minutes and the food was lukewarm, almost cold. Overall it was just disappointing.

We went to Kaphörnchen for ice cream again this weekend. The ice cream was delicious as always. There were plenty of staff on site, although they often preferred to stand behind the counter to chat rather than serve waiting customers. What was really not nice was that the ice cream scoops were incredibly small, and for 2 euros... yes, everything is getting more expensive, I'm willing to pay for good ice cream, but the fact that I only get one scoop in a cone for 4 euros, like I used to, is not okay. It also seemed that it wasn't that easy to get the ice cream into the cones with the small ice cream tongs, which I also mentioned, but received a rather annoyed response, saying that was due to the girl's age. However, we will think carefully about whether we want to continue eating ice cream there for the money and the mini size.
