Only dish names are Mexican. Burritos were served cold. Chips cooked enough but with lower grade potatoes. Good enough for Schleswig perhaps

Discovered by chance and found a great location. Mexican cuisine. Great waffles, can be put together variably. Nice staff, friendly and easy to say. Order at the counter, brought to the table.

After the flood last year, the Cape squirrel became very bad. I went for waffles and ice cream with my daughter and there was a hair that was not good. I called one of the workers and told her she started apologizing. It was really disgusting.

Ice cream cones: divine ice cream! A fantastic salty caramel sauce. But the sauce - as delicious as it was - 2 euros for a scoop of ice cream and 2 euros for the sauce. A forewarning is in order. Interesting ice cream flavors!

Delicious ice cream, not cheap but special varieties. Since it had rained that day we were allowed to sit in and eat the ice cream. We thought that was good.

Very expensive ice cream, mediocre staff and just average quality. The employees are very different and so is the size of the expensive ice cream scoops (2€/scoop) that you get. If you talk to the staff about it (as you are asked to do on a small sign) they will add more and make the next ball even smaller. In addition, there are obviously mostly underage assistants working there, especially when it comes to ice cream, so it sometimes takes a little longer and things behind the counter are quite tumultuous and disorganized. On nice days at prime time, the small ice cream hut is usually so full that you only get an overview of the often changing flavors when it's your turn. A small blackboard in front of the hut would make sense - that's what other ice cream parlors do too. Creative and silly flavor names do not hide the mostly average milk ice cream taste. But only a few older employees are unfriendly. Ice cream sales always stop at 8 p.m., no matter how many people are still waiting in line. The rest of the restaurant service continues, mind you. The ice cream sundaes are also disproportionately expensive (€9-11) for what you get. The Mexican food in the restaurant is okay, as are the waiting times, but nothing special either. But the price is a bit fairer than the ice cream. It's better to drink drinks like an Aperol Spritz elsewhere and just order a beer. The atmosphere at the harbor is usually very nice, especially in summer, so you would like to sit longer if the rest was right. Overall, many missed opportunities due to management that is obviously very profit-oriented and less interested in quality, supplemented by mismanagement that is incomprehensible from different perspectives.

We were there and paid €5 for a waffle with no decoration, i.e. no ice cream, no strawberries, no cream, just waffles with powdered sugar! And it was a small waffle. That's pretty cheeky. When I asked why it cost €5 they just kept going! Fries were OK.

Nicely located on the Schlei, I just don't understand the concept! Order coffee at the counter and an ice cream with it, no answer! First of all, wait in line outside for at least a quarter of an hour for an ice cream and then wait in line at the counter in the store to get a coffee or something similar? So you have to decide on one thing if you don't want to spend your time there just waiting. Or you can forego the view and go to an ice cream parlor nearby. It's a shame that the answer was so short, I was with you yesterday and asked if I could order coffee and ice cream together and this was rejected. At the time, around 20 young people were queuing outside to order ice cream. Your ice cream is delicious, but not at any price, such long waiting times are “bad” for a stopover with a motorbike. The owner's response has now reduced the rating from 3 to 1 star....

Very nice restaurant and delicious food! Guacamole was exceptionally good, everything seemed very homemade. With very clean toilets.

7:47 p.m. -Sunday, in the middle of peak season. As a line of customers wait, one flavor of ice cream is taken from the counter, smoothed and taken away. All we had left was soft ice cream, which unfortunately tasted slightly sour and not at all creamy. I felt sorry for 4€ afterwards.

Outrageous prices. Ice latte for €8. Stressed employees.

We took an ice cream sundae and a small ice latte and had to pay 17.50 euros, unfortunately it was way too expensive and we won't be going there again.

There are several flavors of ice cream. We were here three times and tried a few different varieties. Yoghurt/pomegranate: Yes, you could taste yoghurt but there was no trace of pomegranate (I guess it was a strawberry/cherry syrup). Cassis: I didn't even taste a hint of cassis. "Addiction": just incredibly sticky and sweet. Really a shame! And the service is very, very slow...

Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience with an older employee. A child doesn't get 30 seconds to choose a variety. We were alone at the ice cream counter, and a couple behind us came up to the counter to get ice cream too, but the rude comment "Now do it, other people want ice cream too" while I was reading out the flavors was absolutely inappropriate in this situation -in contrast to ice cream- tasteless.

It's very nice at the harbor. Luckily it wasn't too crowded. We had a very tasty breakfast there. The service was good 👍 and helpful, we would be happy to come back

We took the ice on the outside. The ice cream is very tasty and there are great varieties. The price for a scoop is 2 euros, which is quite high like the ice cream sundaes, which cost 9.50-10.50 euros (hence one star less). Still very tasty, you should treat yourself.

Perfect place to settle down and enjoy the evening sun by the harbour. Cool view and great cozy atmosphere inside and out. The outdoor areas can be covered so well that it feels as if you are sitting inside. Nice menu and good value for money, nice portion and tasty. Love their range of waterlant sodas - especially the kuddelmuddel!

Be prepared to be ignored by staff for over ten minutes. Decided to eat somewhere else after all.

After the flood last year, the Cape squirrel was turned inside out in terms of structure and content. The ice cream, which is made from milk from a regional Bioland farm, is still very good. The restaurant has become Mexican and cooks very well and deliciously. The food is ordered at the counter and then brought to your table. The prices are okay, I expected a significant price increase, which didn't happen.

Small café, bistro right at the harbor. Ice cream portions are huge, taste very good, but sometimes a bit too sweet. Coffee specialties are also recommended. Good selection of cakes and freshly baked waffles as well as Mexican food. Nice place to stay.

The ice cream is really to die for!

The Kaphörnchen in Schleswig is an absolute insider tip! The Mexican food is to die for, as is the homemade ice cream - both simply delicious. The location right on the harbor is fantastic. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner on the terrace and having a nice chat with him. What a nice, friendly man! You can feel that there is a lot of heart and passion in the shop. The staff is also very attentive. We'd love to come back!

I was there yesterday with my daughter to get ice cream, the lady who served us was very nice and friendly even though it was busy, but then a colleague came who was very unfriendly and said "go to the side a little bit" sorry, we could still go further not on the side and we weren't finished being served. Then you have to enlarge your ice cream sales hut. The ice cream was good but still a bit excessive at €2 per scoop. The lady who served us directly deserves 5*, unfortunately the rest don't. There's no way we're going to get anything there anymore!

The food was delicious, unfortunately the service became unfriendly when we asked her that the beer we ordered was not non-alcoholic. After we played the game of “they didn’t order that” and “yes we did” for a few minutes, the beer was reluctantly exchanged. A pity.

Racism and discrimination!!!!!!🤢🤬 Last week I invited my mother to this restaurant for her birthday, and after ordering and eating a large amount of ice cream, we sat with our friends and had fun. The basement manager kicked us out because my mother and her friends wear the hijab!!!!!!!!!!!! Soo anti-social 🤢🤢🤢🤢of course she didn't speak to us directly but sent foreign waiters to us. I was able to come in completely calmly and cause a lot of stress with her. Of course I didn't because I didn't want this poor man to carry the stress on his neck. Afterwards I called the restaurant number and asked for the boss and I waited for a call back, no one registered with me 🤬 Not recommended 🤢

The food was very tasty. I ordered a non-alcoholic beer and received an alcoholic beer. After I pointed this out, I was blamed and told I never ordered it. After a short discussion I got the non-alcoholic drink and was in a bad mood. A pity. Never come back.

For me, even as a local, it's always worth a visit. The ice cream is just amazing, the price is right. Special requests are taken into account and implemented immediately, the staff is very friendly, and if you just want to sit comfortably at the harbor you can do so there. The restaurant also has something for small or larger appetites.

They offer to prepare every dish vegan, which I think is really great and timely! Unfortunately, not all ingredients are always in stock. The food tastes great, the employees are nice. Unfortunately, we had 2 mistakes in 3 dishes (an additional ingredient we paid for wasn't there, we still paid money for it and didn't get it refunded) and one dish was made completely wrong and was answered with "mhm yes, we could make it again, but it would take a while "The wrong dish was served. The more expensive price for the other dish had already been paid and there was nothing in return, including nothing as compensation. That was a bit of a shame. Nevertheless, everything was delicious and we would love to come back. Mistakes are human.

Good location for travelers who drive along the coast and looking for alternative options except seafood. A Simple structures of industrial style of glass house that it positioned right in the corner of walkway, thereby I saw high density of boats parking in front of the restaurant, and it’s definitely not the beautiful scenery you wish to see. Pity! The interior is clean and bright, working staffs and service both adequate. I think the prices are in general fair uptodate. The food we ordered were good and authentic. Besides I do appreciate that it’s rather convenient for vegetarians for the great selection of each sorts of food. I chose the Ensalada Casa with home made Lemonade as my lunch while my husband ordered Enchilada. They all tasty and dressing is good as well. Big portions for each dishes thus some people have a hard time finishing food.

Great cafe and restaurant in a great location. My first and last visit when I'm in Schleswig is always there with delicious white hot chocolate.

Always a nice place to have a good time. The service is almost always great...we're not in a good mood every day 😁. It has become beautiful after the flood...it's good that there are chairs everywhere now. It's better to sit down to eat. It's nice that it's open again.

We wanted to give the Cape squirrel another chance today, but were disappointed again. The service seemed overwhelmed, unstructured and unfriendly. There are remnants of other types of ice cream in the ice cream, and accordingly also on the waffle. Instead of lemon, you unintentionally enjoy other types. If you point this out politely and already ashamed, you'll get annoyed sighs. No please, no thank you. It wasn't the first time, but definitely the last time. 10 years ago the ice cream cone was certainly an insider tip in SL. The days of the Cape squirrel are definitely over!

I have to update my review. Today we were with you again in the beautiful café. Cocktails were on the agenda. After we got a cocktail, the evening was over. The cocktail consists of 80% crushed ice... and at a sporty price... See photo Thanks

The “large” soft ice cream for €3.90 is really small. I find it cheeky given the low manufacturing costs and in relation to other providers. Won't happen to me again.

Dieser Eigentümer geht gar nicht. Nur frech und unter aller Sau, wenn man mal Kritik äußert. Und dann noch diese Bettelei nach dem Hochwasser. Ja, Geschmäcker sind subjektiv. Und ja, dann sollte man auch konstruktive Kritik abkönnen, wenn es einem persönlich nicht angesprochen hat. Und nicht gleich ausfallend werden. Nur weil man für sich ein anderes Erlebnis erwartet hat. Außerdem wird hier schlecht mit Mitarbeitern umgegangen. Allein schon die Aussage, dass bei tischbestellungen mehr Geld gezahlt werden müsste grenzt an geringer Bezahlung. Ich war selbst in Kurorten zum essen, was deutlich günstiger war. Auch kenne ich 2 ehemalige Angestellte, die nicht gerade in den höchsten Tönen vom Besitzer sprechen. Aber Hauptsache Arrogant, die eigene Meinung zählt, Preise deutlich erhöhen, betteln und Mitarbeiter runter machen.

Im Sommer gibt es hier immer ein Eis zum aufessen. Bisher hat die Kugel immer 1,80 gekostet. Dafür ist die Kugel Eis auch sehr großzügig groß und die Jungs und Mädels machen da gute Arbeit.

Top! Lecker Essen, nettes Personal. Kinder wurden sofort mit Malsachen versorgt! Sehr aufmerksam. Portionen waren reichlich.

Habe ein Eis gekauft, Dies ist nach einmal ablecken Direkt die ganze Waffel zusammen Gebrochen und auf meine Hose und Dan auf den Boden geknallt. Der Laden hat mir nicht mal mein Geld zurückgeben wollen. Super schlechter laden mit schwacher Qualität.

Waren hier essen mit unseren Kindern. Erstmal positiv war natürlich das super leckere Essen!! Uns Erwachsenen hat es unfassbar gut geschmeckt. Meine Kinder fanden ihren Kinderburrito leider zu scharf (er war wirklich schärfer als der von meinem Mann) was leider ein Minuspunkt ist. Gottseidank gab es aber leckere Waffeln, die den Magen doch noch füllen konnten. Ein wenig hätte ich mir als Elternteil eine kleine Kinderecke gewünscht aber das gibt der Platz wohl einfach nicht her, dafür gibt's tollen Schleiblick und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr kinderlieb und freundlich! Da es räumlich etwas klein ist und der Andrang sehr hoch, musste man um die Plätze lauern und die Lautstärke war manchmal etwas anstrengend aber dafür ziehe ich dennoch keinen Stern ab, denn ich denke es ist sehr schwer in Schleswig eine gute Lokation zu finden. Alles in allem kommen wir in Zukunft gerne wieder ☺️

Echt süßes Lokal, für uns als Camper super nah am Stellplatz gelegen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Essen war richtig lecker und toll angerichtet. Vom Style her sehr authentisch mexikanisch. Sehr zu empfehlen

Es war sehr schön hier. Gemütliche Sitzgelegenheiten, wunderschön direkt an der Schlei gelegen. Auch die Musik (Cover) war sehr angenehm. Leider hat uns das Essen etwas enttäuscht, es war etwas lasch und alles maximal halbwarm. Die Dips waren allerdings sehr gut. Auch der Cappuccino hat uns geschmeckt. Auch die Bedienung war sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Super netter Service. Und lecker essen. Immer wieder gerne.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, Personal sehr freundlich und nette Atmosphäre. Gerne wieder. Als wir mit dem Essen fertig waren, ist es uns aufgefallen, dass Sie Joghurt mit verschiedenen Obst Sorten anbieten. Wir haben uns aber doch für das Eis entschieden 😬. Nächstes Mal werden wir das Joghurt auf jedenfall probieren 🤗.

Selbstbedienung am Tresen, aber Preise wie mit Bedienung. Burritos sehen innen eher unappettitlich aus, liegt aber auch an der üblichen Zubereitungsart und weniger an der Ausführung.

Besonders lecker finde ich das Milchreiseis mit Zimt und Zucker! Tolle Eiskreationen, sehr nettes Personal, schoener Blick auf den Hafen.

Wir hatten vier verschiedene Frühstücksgerichte, damit jeder alles probieren kann und alles war super lecker. Für ein mexikanisches Frühstück würde ich immer wieder kommen.

Hier kann man bei einem Glas Wein die Sonne mit Blick auf die Schlei genießen. Leider ist die Parkplatzsituation unbefriedigend, da dieser aufgrund der vielen Gäste und weiteren Lokalitäten ständig überfüllt ist. An der Straße herrscht leider überall Halteverbot. Das trübt leider den Gesamteindruck stark und hält uns davon ab öfters hierher zu kommen.

Ein Mexikaner direkt am Hafen an der Schlei. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Portion nicht zu klein. Bestellt und bezahlt wird am Tresen, die Speisen werden aber an den Tisch gebracht. Das Ambiente und der Ausblick auf die anliegenden Boote hat mich nach dem Essen noch einen Cocktail bestellen lassen. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Kehren immer wieder gern dort ein. Super freundliche Mitarbeiter, Leckere Quarkspeisen, Kuchen, Eis und ein paar warme Sachen. Der Blick aufs Wasser ist jedes mal ein bißchen Urlaub. Das Einzige was manchmal stört ist die Akustik, es klingt etwas nach Bahnhofshalle, wenn viel los ist.

Wir haben hier leckeres Eis gegessen und das ist wirklich ausgefallen und spitze.
