Today we had a nut cup for €9.50 without a single nut! There was just half a tablespoon of praline sprinkled on top of the cream. I find that a disgrace. Even though the ice cream itself was tasty, I expect nuts in a nut cup.

The two of us enjoyed delicious food and very friendly service. The time flew by...unfortunately...far too quickly. We felt very comfortable and we like the ambiance. This won't be the last time we're here :)

It's gotten incredibly expensive. 33 euros for a burger with fries and a small Coke? That's unjustifiable. The prices have gone up so much. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. Addendum to the reply: The way you describe it is absolutely not correct. When the burger was included in the total price, including dips, which are now all extra, it's 33 euros!! Before, the burger, including dips and fries, was 16.90 euros, or 17.90 euros? Since you now have to pay extra for everything, it's MUCH more expensive than before. And I can definitely do the math. Guacamole costs 4 euros. That was included before. That means if I order the meal exactly as before, it's much more expensive. Then stand by your increase and don't act like your customers are too stupid to do the math!!

The ice cream at Eishörner has always been a dream; the scoops are generously portioned, and the selection of specials is very good. I've now also tried the Mexican restaurant inside and can recommend it as well. The service is super friendly; you go to the counter to order, and you don't have to wait too long for your food. However, I found it a bit expensive; I also have the feeling that all Mexican restaurants are a bit pricey.

I ordered a burger. It came with a poor bun and nothing on it. Almost no meat. Lukewarm. Warm cheese. €14. Side order costs extra. Didn't convince me. Snack bar in a good location. At these prices, you have to order at the counter yourself and then clean up after your meal. Too bad

ICE CREAM SCONES: How disappointing! This soft serve ice cream is beyond worthy. A slightly yellowish, strange mass. Tastes like pure chemistry. INEDIBLE. The only option was to throw it away.

What's a special treat at other ice cream parlors is a given here: You can create your own ice cream flavors for your chosen fruit cup. There are many delicious ice cream flavors with imaginative names. You're sitting right on Schleswig's harbor promenade, and the view is just as beautiful.

I haven't experienced such friendly and attentive service in many restaurants. The food was amazing, the coffee delicious, and the ice cream was a dream. My order was brought to the table in no time 💛 Thank you 🤩 🧑‍🦽

My wife suggested the Cape chicken – to be honest, I was a bit skeptical at first, as I'd imagined it to be more of a simple snack bar by the water. But I was definitely proven wrong! The food was truly outstanding, both visually and tastefully. This more than makes up for having to clear your own dishes. What struck me as particularly positive was that the young team working there does a really great job. Whether at the counter, at the ice cream counter, inside, or outside – there's true teamwork. Communication was brief, efficient, and everyone knew what to do. No one just stood around; instead, everyone worked attentively and proactively. If a full crockery bin was somewhere or napkins were running low, it was immediately noticed and dealt with. Many other restaurants could learn a thing or two from this. It's truly impressive how dedicated and professional young people run a restaurant like this – huge compliments to the entire team!

Nice location by the harbor, but unfortunately, the ordering process was completely disorganized – my husband waited in line for at least 10 minutes to order drinks and snacks. Then it took forever for a few snacks to arrive. The service was very friendly, and everything inside is beautifully decorated. We would have liked to order more, but the line just kept getting longer...

The new prices are outrageous and absolutely don't do the food justice! What a shame...

We had a drink there. You can sit outside and enjoy the sun and water. The people are really nice. Highly recommended.

The ice cream was delicious, but there were a lot of flavors that didn't immediately give you a hint of what they would taste like. And when there are 20 people standing behind you, you can't really spend much time trying and considering. But whatever, thanks for having people who work when I have time off!👍

Mexican food is very special. The dishes used to be much better and more varied. Today you can choose what you want, everything tastes similar, only the "shell" is different... quesadilla, fajita, burrito etc. Ambience beautiful. There is no better place at the harbor. Unfortunately, prices are constantly being increased disproportionately. Latte macchiato now, instead of €4.50, €5.10 will soon be a luxury. 0.33 Cola now costs €4.50. Ice cream at €2 a scoop, still normal. Who knows whether there won't be an increase in the summer. So if you want to treat yourself, you're in good hands at Kaphörnchen, but if you're passionate about going out for coffee, you'll be poor! 😂

Nice atmosphere and very tasty food. Good location with a cool atmosphere. When full, there is of course a higher noise level. Nice background music.

I've been to Kaphörnchen a few times because the location of the café is very nice and the food is also okay. However, the last few times I've noticed how unfriendly the staff has become. Really rude to customers. Unfortunately it was the last time I ate and drank there. Service, especially good service, is different. Quality management when it comes to dealing with customers is apparently no longer practiced or not practiced at all. Very unfortunate.

It's a shame, what happened to the great ice cream that once existed here? Today I got a completely watered down and way too sweet scoop of vanilla ice cream on my waffle. I pushed them aside onto the plate, where an oily liquid remained after defrosting. That was my last ice cream there, sugary palm oil for €2 a scoop, no thanks!

This place is definitely something fine for connoisseurs of Mexican cuisine, but unfortunately it wasn't suitable for people who just want to eat something quick. There were two of us and we only ordered 2 portions of fries and cheese quesadilla. We waited 45 minutes and the food was lukewarm, almost cold. Overall it was just disappointing.

We went to Kaphörnchen for ice cream again this weekend. The ice cream was delicious as always. There were plenty of staff on site, although they often preferred to stand behind the counter to chat rather than serve waiting customers. What was really not nice was that the ice cream scoops were incredibly small, and for 2 euros... yes, everything is getting more expensive, I'm willing to pay for good ice cream, but the fact that I only get one scoop in a cone for 4 euros, like I used to, is not okay. It also seemed that it wasn't that easy to get the ice cream into the cones with the small ice cream tongs, which I also mentioned, but received a rather annoyed response, saying that was due to the girl's age. However, we will think carefully about whether we want to continue eating ice cream there for the money and the mini size.

Very tasty, we come very often when we are in Schleswig. The food is first class. Unfortunately the restaurant is self-service. But I think this is due to the high volume of people. We'd love to come back!!

Right on the water there is enough choice for eating and drinking. Coffee was very good and the view is also very nice. Especially when the weather is nice.

Parking is difficult, location is good. The setup is simple but fine. I ate the most expensive French fries of my life here. They charge 6.90 euros for simple fries and, even better, another 1 euro extra for ketchup, so around 8 euros... absurd. These were by far the most expensive fries of my life. A small cola or something similar is another 4 euros. For me the calculation is outrageous, especially since it also applies to other products there. But ultimately everyone should decide for themselves.

For us as locals, it's always worth a stop and feels like a short vacation. The waffles are a dream, double espresso, what more could you want, plus the dream view over the harbor with the houseboats.

Today is the second time this year because we noticed that the ice cream balls have become very small and that for 2 euros per ball!!! More expensive and smaller!!!

Unfortunately it took forever to get there. Self service, no service. Probably not skilled workers, due to the labor shortage. The girls seemed a bit overwhelmed. Cake was a disaster, bone dry. Cappuccino tasted good. Offer on the menu is sufficient. Because of the beautiful location, I would still like to come back.

I always loved going to Cape Squirrel. But since the Mexican flair has taken hold here with uncomfortable chairs and a slightly shabby and sometimes unkempt atmosphere, I can no longer recommend it here. It's a shame that a restaurant with such a good location has developed so negatively.

One of the restaurants in Schleswig, if you have too much money but not enough self-respect, you can definitely eat something here. By the way, the rule of thumb for trustworthiness in catering is that only young women work in the service, which has always been a good idea and is not at all problematic. Kaphörnchen is a symptom of the increasingly tourist-oriented gastronomy in Schleswig; and that's a real shame.

Fundamentally ticklish experience. Truly an emotional roller coaster ride. The location is nice, nice outdoor area and right on the water. However, since the concept change a few years ago, the quality has decreased dramatically. Expensive, "Mexican" food that tickles the taste buds unpleasantly. Nachos, which are identical to those of yes! are at Rewe. All of this for a hell of a price. The service is okay, in general you can tell that the shift/store management puts the employees under extreme stress and probably creates an unpleasant working atmosphere. However, the whole thing is balanced out by the in-house tickling uncle, who gives customers a wonderful experience in the toilet upon request. Correspondingly 3 stars for the service.

Only dish names are Mexican. Burritos were served cold. Chips cooked enough but with lower grade potatoes. Good enough for Schleswig perhaps

Discovered by chance and found a great location. Mexican cuisine. Great waffles, can be put together variably. Nice staff, friendly and easy to say. Order at the counter, brought to the table.

After the flood last year, the Cape squirrel became very bad. I went for waffles and ice cream with my daughter and there was a hair that was not good. I called one of the workers and told her she started apologizing. It was really disgusting.

Ice cream cones: divine ice cream! A fantastic salty caramel sauce. But the sauce - as delicious as it was - 2 euros for a scoop of ice cream and 2 euros for the sauce. A forewarning is in order. Interesting ice cream flavors!

Delicious ice cream, not cheap but special varieties. Since it had rained that day we were allowed to sit in and eat the ice cream. We thought that was good.

Very expensive ice cream, mediocre staff and just average quality. The employees are very different and so is the size of the expensive ice cream scoops (2€/scoop) that you get. If you talk to the staff about it (as you are asked to do on a small sign) they will add more and make the next ball even smaller. In addition, there are obviously mostly underage assistants working there, especially when it comes to ice cream, so it sometimes takes a little longer and things behind the counter are quite tumultuous and disorganized. On nice days at prime time, the small ice cream hut is usually so full that you only get an overview of the often changing flavors when it's your turn. A small blackboard in front of the hut would make sense - that's what other ice cream parlors do too. Creative and silly flavor names do not hide the mostly average milk ice cream taste. But only a few older employees are unfriendly. Ice cream sales always stop at 8 p.m., no matter how many people are still waiting in line. The rest of the restaurant service continues, mind you. The ice cream sundaes are also disproportionately expensive (€9-11) for what you get. The Mexican food in the restaurant is okay, as are the waiting times, but nothing special either. But the price is a bit fairer than the ice cream. It's better to drink drinks like an Aperol Spritz elsewhere and just order a beer. The atmosphere at the harbor is usually very nice, especially in summer, so you would like to sit longer if the rest was right. Overall, many missed opportunities due to management that is obviously very profit-oriented and less interested in quality, supplemented by mismanagement that is incomprehensible from different perspectives.

We were there and paid €5 for a waffle with no decoration, i.e. no ice cream, no strawberries, no cream, just waffles with powdered sugar! And it was a small waffle. That's pretty cheeky. When I asked why it cost €5 they just kept going! Fries were OK.

Nicely located on the Schlei, I just don't understand the concept! Order coffee at the counter and an ice cream with it, no answer! First of all, wait in line outside for at least a quarter of an hour for an ice cream and then wait in line at the counter in the store to get a coffee or something similar? So you have to decide on one thing if you don't want to spend your time there just waiting. Or you can forego the view and go to an ice cream parlor nearby. It's a shame that the answer was so short, I was with you yesterday and asked if I could order coffee and ice cream together and this was rejected. At the time, around 20 young people were queuing outside to order ice cream. Your ice cream is delicious, but not at any price, such long waiting times are “bad” for a stopover with a motorbike. The owner's response has now reduced the rating from 3 to 1 star....

7:47 p.m. -Sunday, in the middle of peak season. As a line of customers wait, one flavor of ice cream is taken from the counter, smoothed and taken away. All we had left was soft ice cream, which unfortunately tasted slightly sour and not at all creamy. I felt sorry for 4€ afterwards.

There are several flavors of ice cream. We were here three times and tried a few different varieties. Yoghurt/pomegranate: Yes, you could taste yoghurt but there was no trace of pomegranate (I guess it was a strawberry/cherry syrup). Cassis: I didn't even taste a hint of cassis. "Addiction": just incredibly sticky and sweet. Really a shame! And the service is very, very slow...

We took an ice cream sundae and a small ice latte and had to pay 17.50 euros, unfortunately it was way too expensive and we won't be going there again.

Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience with an older employee. A child doesn't get 30 seconds to choose a variety. We were alone at the ice cream counter, and a couple behind us came up to the counter to get ice cream too, but the rude comment "Now do it, other people want ice cream too" while I was reading out the flavors was absolutely inappropriate in this situation -in contrast to ice cream- tasteless.

It's very nice at the harbor. Luckily it wasn't too crowded. We had a very tasty breakfast there. The service was good 👍 and helpful, we would be happy to come back

We took the ice on the outside. The ice cream is very tasty and there are great varieties. The price for a scoop is 2 euros, which is quite high like the ice cream sundaes, which cost 9.50-10.50 euros (hence one star less). Still very tasty, you should treat yourself.

Perfect place to settle down and enjoy the evening sun by the harbour. Cool view and great cozy atmosphere inside and out. The outdoor areas can be covered so well that it feels as if you are sitting inside. Nice menu and good value for money, nice portion and tasty. Love their range of waterlant sodas - especially the kuddelmuddel!

After the flood last year, the Cape squirrel was turned inside out in terms of structure and content. The ice cream, which is made from milk from a regional Bioland farm, is still very good. The restaurant has become Mexican and cooks very well and deliciously. The food is ordered at the counter and then brought to your table. The prices are okay, I expected a significant price increase, which didn't happen.

Small café, bistro right at the harbor. Ice cream portions are huge, taste very good, but sometimes a bit too sweet. Coffee specialties are also recommended. Good selection of cakes and freshly baked waffles as well as Mexican food. Nice place to stay.

The ice cream is really to die for!

The Kaphörnchen in Schleswig is an absolute insider tip! The Mexican food is to die for, as is the homemade ice cream - both simply delicious. The location right on the harbor is fantastic. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner on the terrace and having a nice chat with him. What a nice, friendly man! You can feel that there is a lot of heart and passion in the shop. The staff is also very attentive. We'd love to come back!

I was there yesterday with my daughter to get ice cream, the lady who served us was very nice and friendly even though it was busy, but then a colleague came who was very unfriendly and said "go to the side a little bit" sorry, we could still go further not on the side and we weren't finished being served. Then you have to enlarge your ice cream sales hut. The ice cream was good but still a bit excessive at €2 per scoop. The lady who served us directly deserves 5*, unfortunately the rest don't. There's no way we're going to get anything there anymore!

The food was delicious, unfortunately the service became unfriendly when we asked her that the beer we ordered was not non-alcoholic. After we played the game of “they didn’t order that” and “yes we did” for a few minutes, the beer was reluctantly exchanged. A pity.

Racism and discrimination!!!!!!🤢🤬 Last week I invited my mother to this restaurant for her birthday, and after ordering and eating a large amount of ice cream, we sat with our friends and had fun. The basement manager kicked us out because my mother and her friends wear the hijab!!!!!!!!!!!! Soo anti-social 🤢🤢🤢🤢of course she didn't speak to us directly but sent foreign waiters to us. I was able to come in completely calmly and cause a lot of stress with her. Of course I didn't because I didn't want this poor man to carry the stress on his neck. Afterwards I called the restaurant number and asked for the boss and I waited for a call back, no one registered with me 🤬 Not recommended 🤢

The food was very tasty. I ordered a non-alcoholic beer and received an alcoholic beer. After I pointed this out, I was blamed and told I never ordered it. After a short discussion I got the non-alcoholic drink and was in a bad mood. A pity. Never come back.

For me, even as a local, it's always worth a visit. The ice cream is just amazing, the price is right. Special requests are taken into account and implemented immediately, the staff is very friendly, and if you just want to sit comfortably at the harbor you can do so there. The restaurant also has something for small or larger appetites.

They offer to prepare every dish vegan, which I think is really great and timely! Unfortunately, not all ingredients are always in stock. The food tastes great, the employees are nice. Unfortunately, we had 2 mistakes in 3 dishes (an additional ingredient we paid for wasn't there, we still paid money for it and didn't get it refunded) and one dish was made completely wrong and was answered with "mhm yes, we could make it again, but it would take a while "The wrong dish was served. The more expensive price for the other dish had already been paid and there was nothing in return, including nothing as compensation. That was a bit of a shame. Nevertheless, everything was delicious and we would love to come back. Mistakes are human.
