Restaurant Ringelnatz in Schleswig

On our way from the Museum Island at Gottorf Castle, we decided to stop somewhere for a bite to eat during our sightseeing tour. The Ringelnatz Restaurant had already caught our eye because of its regional, partly Polish, and vegan dishes. The restaurant impresses with its rustic ambiance and wonderful hospitality. The hostess was super friendly and accommodating. Even a request for a special dish, such as omitting cheese, was met with a positive response. You immediately feel very welcome. We had the beetroot soup and the Polish all-purpose dish, among others. The pierogi were wonderfully spicy and delicious, and the two beetroot salads and the sauerkraut surowka were also truly delicious. Overall, the menu offered very authentic Polish cuisine. Highly recommended! We had a wonderful day with delicious food, and we will definitely come back next time we're in the area.

We came last night without a reservation and were lucky to get a table. The young ladies serving were incredibly friendly and attentive, with a good overview. The chefs (a young team overall) also did a fantastic job. Drinks, food—everything was truly excellent, from the preparation to the presentation. The wait was pleasant, the atmosphere very relaxed, and the menu truly varied at reasonable prices. A real insider tip. We'll definitely be back.

It's a small, well-kept restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The service seemed very stressed, but was friendly. The restroom is quite small. The food was delicious. Reservations are recommended.

The food was delicious – I had a very fine tomato and mozzarella soup and a vegetarian dish. The dish could have been served at a higher temperature. The portions are okay (not super generous), but you'll be full with just one appetizer. Service was very attentive and prompt. Due to the small space, the ambiance was rather mediocre.

The food was good, traditional, northern German, and truly delicious. The portions were generous. Despite the high stress levels in the packed restaurant, we received very friendly and personal service. It's so nice that there are still restaurants like this. Thank you very much.

We were there over the weekend and were served very friendly. We had a burger and the Polish "Alllei" (a variety of Polish dishes). My husband thought the burger was excellent, and I got goosebumps while eating it. It was so delicious. We will definitely eat there whenever we're in Schleswig in the future. The Ringelnatz restaurant is always worth a visit. This time we had burgers. The homemade fries are delicious. I had the chili cheese burger, and it was perfectly dressed, with a great combination of chili and jalapenos. Exactly my taste. I'd love to come back.

I always enjoy going there! The service is simply excellent and very attentive. I always feel very comfortable there. The food is always delicious and the portions are very generous. The atmosphere is cozy, and even in summer, you can sit on the terrace.

We had dinner at Ringelnatz three days in a row and can only recommend the restaurant: the dishes are of excellent quality and taste, the service is attentive and very friendly, and the value for money is good.

The atmosphere is just as beautiful on the outside as on the inside. The staff were very friendly and warm. They even took their time to small talk with our kids and have a bit of fun. Food was delicious! If I return to Schleswig this will be a must to revisit. I give my biggest recommendations for this restaurant. I would recommend to make a reservation in advance (which we did).

Very good, fresh fish, including an excellent local specialty – herring. Fantastic service. The Polish owner is happy to have her compatriots visit.

The Polish all-purpose dish with pierogi, mushrooms, beetroot and apple salad, and sauerkraut salad is a great change from the run-of-the-mill dishes you usually get in restaurants. It was absolutely delicious and highly recommended. I would come back for that alone!

Fast and attentive service. The cod fillet in mustard sauce was delicious. The pollock fillet was also very good. The fried potatoes were a bit overcooked for our taste. The restrooms are tiny but clean. Only the paper towel dispenser was already empty by lunchtime.

My wife and I had fried zander fillet and fried cod fillet, respectively. Both dishes tasted really good, and both fillets were quite large. If the potatoes had been smaller and new ones had been dug up, everything would have been perfect. July 2, 2025

Some vegan dishes on the menu also have a Polish touch. Finally, someone has actually put some thought into it and created something of their own. Everything sounded delicious. I had the pirrogen to start with, along with pumpkin and swede meatballs with beetroot and apple salad and fried potatoes. Everything tasted delicious. All the non-vegans I was with were also very satisfied. The service was also very friendly; we thoroughly enjoyed the evening there!

Wir waren zum 2.ten Mal innerhalb 4 Wochen hier essen. Beim ersten Besuch waren wir abends mit 8 Personen da (das Restaurant war voll) gestern Mittag zu zweit. Beide Male war das Essen superlecker und keine lange Wartezeit.Wir wurden ausgesprochen freundlich bedient. Die Portionen sind groß. Die Qualität der Speisen ist sehr gut. Das Restaurant und der Sanitärbereich sind sehr gepflegt. Beim nächsten Ausflug nach Schleswig ist der Restaurantbesuch ein Muss!!!

We were there on Sunday afternoon and got a nice seat. I tried the large 400g burger for €22 and was not disappointed. It was delicious! I can recommend the restaurant 100%.

Not a good experience. The asparagus soup was not warm and probably came from a freezer bag. The asparagus with the fish tasted like it was from a glass and the same with the sauce.

We had lunch there. An attentive waitress offered us a better table when it became available. Ordering was easy. The food and drinks were delivered quite quickly. The fish dish and salad were delicious. There was nothing to complain about. We were very satisfied.

Great place to linger. Very nice ambiance in a historic building. There aren't many seats inside, but there is a large and very nice outdoor area. The menu is quite extensive and offers something delicious for every taste. I had the Ringelnatz pan, which I highly recommend. For a drink, I opted for the homemade iced tea, and I must admit, it was delicious. The service is super friendly and does a great job. A visit that is definitely worth it. I would gladly come back.

An all-around wonderful experience! We are very satisfied and will be back. I made a reservation online and received confirmation within a few hours. Our request for a window seat was granted. The table was discreetly but lovingly decorated for the birthday dinner. The service was extremely friendly and engaging. The dining room is rustic and cozy. The building is around 250 years old but well maintained. In addition to the attractive regular menu, there was a special menu with various asparagus dishes. Classic German cuisine, some with a special twist. The drinks and food were all served with attractive decorations. Everything was fresh and perfectly balanced in flavor. The drinks, the fish, the fried potatoes, the salad, the burgers, and the fries. Everything was just right. The portions were sufficient for us as regular eaters. Very big eaters will probably need an appetizer. At the end, everyone received a delicious liqueur on the house.

My wife is vegan and was thrilled by the offerings - it's rare to find so much consideration and quality at the same time. I haven't met such a nice waitress in Germany for a long time 👍 the food is simply delicious. We had a small celebration with seven people. The shop is super cozy. I'm looking forward to being on the terrace when it gets warm.

It was super good there. I had a Jägerschnitzel with fried potatoes and it was incredibly good! The staff was also super nice. All in all I can say: this is a big fat click on I like it! It's definitely worth eating there!

Super delicious food! As a celiac, I felt very well looked after. Waitress knew about gluten free etc. and was very friendly. Fries were also gluten free 🥰 There's a great selection of vegan, vegetarian, meat and fish. Clear recommendation!

Wow. The vegan truffle burger was simply amazing! A clear recommendation also for mixed food lovers. Although it was slightly too salty, I would like to give it 10/10!! The prices are really good for such delicious food! The hand-cut fries were also incredibly tasty.

Small, really cozy restaurant. There were four of us there. Tip: Be sure to reserve in advance. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Overall, everything is a little tight here. Everything is very nicely decorated. The only thing that was annoying was the very low-hanging lamps above the tables, as it made it much more difficult to have a conversation with the other person. Drinks came quickly. Even though the restaurant was busy, the food was served in a reasonable time. Top. We mostly had burgers. And here is my first point of criticism. Supplements had to be ordered and paid for separately. The burgers themselves were good, but without any particular sophistication. When it comes to the price, I have to say that a lot is being asked for here and is not really justified in my/ours. We know better burger restaurants at cheaper prices. The other dishes were also rather standard. Too bad.

Were there for the first time today and I have to say it's worth driving from Denmark to Schleswig for a meal like this. It won't be long before we go there again.

Today we went to the Ringelnatz restaurant spontaneously and without a reservation. Nevertheless, they made everything possible and offered us a table. The food was delicious and so was the homemade lemonade. The pumpkin and turnip meatballs absolutely convinced me. The good mood among the service staff and in the kitchen, despite the restaurant being full, was also very positive. We would definitely like to come back.

It was very busy and the service staff was clearly busy. Despite the long wait, we ate very well.

Food was really good and absolutely sufficient. I've been here again for almost 50 years and I definitely won't wait that long for the next time... Recommended grilled liver and schnitzel Viennese style with fried eggs...

I haven't been here for a long time and thanks to an invitation I ended up on the terrace of the restaurant when the weather was nice. There were four of us and any special requests were happily fulfilled. The service was courteous but not always present due to the lack of staff. The food was very tasty, the dessert menu was practically non-existent except for one dish. I'll come back to see the interior.

A very nice restaurant. Rustic beach chairs and a huge terrace invite you to enjoy good food and a nice drink. Very cozy inside too. A very, very nice seavice fulfills all wishes to the greatest satisfaction. Very tasty food rounds off the stay. A reservation is recommended.

The food is absolutely great and makes up for the service, which grumpily points out that the reservation is made hours (!) later and you have to be gone by then, and the ambience that tries to be elegant and doesn't match the beautiful old half-timbered house.

We love the food at Ringelnatz. Fresh ingredients. Fish, meat and poultry are of high quality. Many dishes also for vegetarians. The house was built in 1752. Cozy facility. Fantastic wines. A reservation is really an advantage. This can easily be done online. An answer will come promptly. A clear recommendation for this restaurant 😋👍 A quick addendum: we often eat there. We noticed today that some tables were reserved there. Not just for 2 guests... but tables for 4 or 6 guests. Unfortunately, these people didn't come. Why can't you just call to cancel the reservation? Many guests who would very much like to eat there were turned away. People, cancel so that others can eat there

Freundlich und super zuvorkommend. Wir kamen ohne Tischreservierung anm Donnerstag um 18:30 Uhr. Dennoch wurde umorganisiert und wir bekamen den letzten Platz für zwei Personen im Restaurant. Außen gab es noch reichlich weitere Plätze, aber das Wetter war nicht sehr einladend. Die angebotenen Speisen reichen von regional bis international. Da wir die Hausfrauenküche bevorzugen, haben wir das Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und Matjesfilets mit Bratkartoffeln und Salat bestellt. Trotz sehr vielen Gästen waren die Wartezeiten angemessen bis kurz. Es hat uns ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Wir haben gleich für die Folgewoche einen Tisch reserviert und freuen uns schon auf das zweite Essenserlebnis.
