Gladly, friendly staff and great food!

We ate there twice and were very, very satisfied. The prices are on the high side, but the portions are generous and really tasty. However, there are also simple dishes like pizza or tarte flambée that are reasonably priced. The service was excellent; we would like to particularly mention a young blonde lady who served us wonderfully and was very friendly.

We had a great meal here, with large portions and all the dishes were excellent, with a fantastic view of Lake Constance. The beer garden is beautifully furnished with lounge furniture. Highly recommended.

Idyllic location. Maria's service is absolutely fantastic. Always friendly and accommodating. The pizza was very good.

Thank you for the culinary delight! Both dishes: the whole trout and the Swabian fillet platter are highly recommended. The aperitif was also very well mixed, so we suspect the same would be true for cocktails and long drinks. The quality comes at a price, but the resulting expectations are more than met. Thank you for the pleasant evening, we'd love to come back again.

A very beautiful place. Unfortunately, it rained. The food was good. The staff was very dedicated and experienced with children, meaning they weren't bothered by our four little ones, aged between 4 and 10, plus our baby.

Cocktails taste great. Schnitzel was huge and very good. Flammkuchen tasted great. Steak was very expensive and below expectations. Nice place, good food, but expensive and cost does not fully match value. Would go again though

Mixed..... Great welcome and reception Fast service Beef tartar TOP!!!! But then...while we were still enjoying the appetizers, the main courses arrived. Confused looks. Our wish: we'd like to finish the appetizers. And now what?? The main courses were served warm. And that's exactly what they tasted like: cheese spaetzle, complete mush and slush in the mouth. Absolutely not. Drinks for the main course didn't come either. Instead, there was chaos on the table: not a millimeter of space for the aperitif, water, wine, appetizers, etc. Unfortunately, there was a fork missing for the mud spaetzle. No big deal. Since no one noticed or wanted to correct it (probably because I didn't shout across the restaurant, but just quietly asked for a fork. My mistake), I found one at a neighboring table. Hurray!! With the bill came two shots of schnapps ("there must have been some confusion in the kitchen..."). There's more you can do...get the service and the coordination with the kitchen in order and you'll be in a different league.

We spent a wonderful afternoon at the Waldhaus Konstanz restaurant, shaded under the trees with a view of Lake Constance. We enjoyed a wonderful, freshly prepared beef tartare and a very crisp and fresh salad.

Unfortunately, I had to wait an hour for the food. The meat was overcooked, and the spaetzle were drowned in sauce. I paid almost €60 for a glass of water, a glass of wine, a small salad, roast beef, and an espresso! No excuse for the wait; it wasn't good!

Very good, sophisticated cuisine, lovingly prepared. The service is excellent and friendly. The decor is very tasteful, and the location on the lake is second to none. The prices are a bit high, but still reasonable. I'd be happy to come back.

Super delicious food, whether meat or vegetarian. The service is prompt and leaves nothing to be desired. I definitely recommend this delicious restaurant. We stayed at the hotel for a short break.

Everything is truly excellent. You don't find such good food in many restaurants these days. In summer, the pizza in the beer garden is highly recommended, and the salad is definitely always there. The meat is also of excellent quality and cooked to perfection. We always enjoy coming back.

We had an appointment with Mr. Müller in October because we wanted to celebrate our wedding there. He was completely unprepared and couldn't even tell us which dates were still available. He promised to send them to us via email afterward. Even after repeated inquiries, we never heard anything again and were simply ignored. Very unprofessional.

First of all, the food was excellent, truly top-notch, and the waiters were very attentive and friendly. We've been coming here for years. When we arrived this time, there was a larger group, and the waiter was very hectic. He asked for our name and ran to the reservation book. To avoid him, I had to take a step back and lightly bumped into a high table on which a large, heavy candy jar was sitting. The table fell over immediately. It only has one leg in the middle, barely any support, and on top of it was the extremely heavy, filled candy jar. Absolutely unstable and very light. A wobbly affair. It was also a danger when children playing bumped into it. The candy jar broke. The manager came out of the kitchen, furious. We were very sorry, and it was absolutely embarrassing and unpleasant. We ate well and paid, tipping generously for the damage. A waiter came to our table and demanded 40 euros from us for the broken candy jar and the sweets. We surely had insurance. He was very sorry, but the boss would have been furious in the kitchen about it!!!!!!! Of course, we paid promptly so as not to cause a stir and received a bill for it. But honestly: The restaurant surely has insurance for such cases, too. It wasn't intentional; I was just avoiding the hectic waiter! And for a boss to rant about it in the kitchen is completely inappropriate! Let's hope he's never had an accident that would have upset anyone! There are truly worse things in life than a broken candy jar! Absolutely unfriendly from the boss!

The food, in my opinion, wasn't that good. Too little and not really special.

Seven of us went out to eat on Boxing Day evening; it was very tasty.

We ate at Waldhaus Jakob on December 25th and 26th, 2024. Just like the year before, it was excellent. Even though the restaurant was fully booked and everyone was very busy, we received a warm welcome and service. The food was delicious, and the service/staff were very attentive and friendly. THANK YOU 🫶🏻

We had reserved a table for 20 people (16 adults and 4 children). When we made our reservation over two months ago, we had stated that we would need three high chairs, and this was confirmed 100%. These requests were not taken, and we were immediately told that all were occupied. Our drinks and food orders were taken promptly. We had to wait two hours for our food. Many tables that arrived after us received their food quickly, and when we asked why we had to wait so long, we were told that smaller tables were given priority. By the time our food arrived, the coffee table was already being served (around 3 p.m.). For us, this was an absolutely unacceptable explanation, given that we had paid a rather high, almost four-figure sum. None of us were able to enjoy the food, which made us very annoyed by this point. Your waiters tried to make the best of it. In our opinion, the fault clearly lies in the communication and organization in the kitchen. You knew how many reservations there were, and you had to coordinate properly.

Zum Geburtstagsessen dieses Jahr war für meine Mutter und mich das Schweinefulet mit Spätzle auf der Karte. Kurz gesagt, Die Spätzle waren aus der Tüte und das Fleisch hart, eigentlich ungenießbar aber wir wollten dieses Mal keine Welle machen. Und teuer war es auch noch. Letztes Jahr gab es auch schon Beschwerden allerdings dachten wir, daß das mal vorkommen kann. Wir werden dort nicht mehr essen gehen, solange der Koch nicht ausgetauscht wird.

Although we live about 200 km away, we can now call ourselves regulars. The ambiance, the friendly service, and the location with a view of the Swabian Sea are wonderful. But that's not all. We have never (!) been disappointed in this restaurant. Excellent quality and excellent craftsmanship result in superbly delicious dishes. A steak per visit is a must! Even a large celebration for 60 people was handled flawlessly. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Top location for small and large celebrations as well as the à la carte experience in between. The steaks are highly recommended! Perfect cooking level and best quality.

Waited over an hour for food, absolutely bad service. Even for the soup and salad you had to wait an hour.

Eine Speisekarte, auf der jeder etwas finden kann, auch Currywurst bzw. Pommes sind hier erhältlich. Das Personal ist unterschiedlich gut drauf. Die Mehrzahl ist zuvorkommend, schnell und handlungssicher. Aber einige Mitarbeiter agieren gefühlt planlos, was durch die anderen aber wieder gerichtet wird. Man kann hier gut sitzen und ebenso speisen. Gerade nach einem Besuch in der Therme lohnt sich die Einkehr, da es doch etwas außerhalb von Konstanz liegt.

Wir sind im Sommer immer gerne gekommen und das Essen war immer sehr gut. Um so enttäuschten waren wir letzte Woche beim Mittagessen. Französische Zwiebelsuppe kam mit einem lapprigen Discountertoast auf dem eine leicht angewärmte Scheibe billiger Schmelzkäse lag. Das Schnitzel war überdimensional groß so dass man es nicht aufessen konnte und die Panade etwas fad und nicht knusprig da half auch kein Salz und Pfeffer. Dazu ein kleiner Klecks Preiselbeeren, auf Nachfrage kam aber mehr. Die Pommes waren sehr gut. Das Filetpfännchen mit Sosse und Spätzle konnte uns nicht begeistern, zumal der Hauptgang schon serviert wurde bevor wir überhaupt die Suppe fertig gegessen hatten.

Great beer garden with a view of the Konstanzer Trichter...

A nice inn in a quiet forest location with a beautiful beer garden. Unfortunately, the ambience is marred by the poor service.

Unfortunately, the evening in the restaurant was quite a disappointment: The menu said "Hot chocolate with milk". What came next was a small coffee cup of very sweet cacao water. The waiter said he would make a new one, but the 2nd time came the same cacao water with a touch of "milk foam" on it. The reason was that it just came from the machine. But why isn't the information on the map adapted to reality?! The spinach ravioli were "of course" not freshly made, but finished products, which was also said when asked when ordering. I should have chosen something else myself. When we left the restaurant, a station wagon parked in the middle of the parking lot so that the cars couldn't leave. So go back to the restaurant and wait for a waiter to let you know... Completely wordless, without an explanation - let alone an apology - the waiter went specifically into the beer garden to get the key (from a guest??) and drive the car away. In the end I felt like I shouldn't have gone to the restaurant.

Most of the food is very tasty, good value for money, but drinks are completely overpriced.

We were in a very nice beer garden from the Waldhaus restaurant. Despite the rain☂️🌂 we were served very nicely. We'll come back when the weather is nice or to the restaurant.

Super good service, beautiful location. There was a wedding party next door that was too loud for me and the partition wall isn't particularly soundproof. Main course (fish) and dessert were good, salad was bland.

We only ate in the restaurant, so we can't rate the hotel. The food was good and so were the portions. The view from the terrace directly over the lake is beautiful.

Very nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the food wasn't great. The steak was served raw and the “homemade” spaetzle was everything but not homemade. Unfortunately, my companion's ricotta wasn't convincing either. When such a high price is charged for the food, I expect a different quality.

Unfortunately, food is not recommended. Ambience great! Service good. The food definitely doesn't have the quality you would expect based on the menu and prices. Pre-cut curryworst from the oven with 15 fries for €16. Unfortunately, I don't have any recommendations, at least as far as the food is concerned.

I don't often write reviews, but we were so disappointed at Waldhaus Jakob... First of all, the ambience with a view of Lake Constance is beautiful and there was nothing wrong with the service, but unfortunately the food wasn't as hoped. The currywurst for €14.80 was snack quality and was prepared in the deep fryer (when I asked, the waiter told me it was from the oven) the fries were cold and served with ketchup sachets. The spaetzle was baked with tasteless, cheap cheese and the onions weren't cooked through. The price of €17 is absolutely not justified. Overall, the Waldhaus offers snack quality for massively overpriced prices. We're definitely not coming back.

“Here the waiter is king! You eat what the waiter bongs you. It doesn't matter if the waiter made a mistake. The request to bring the desired dish is ignored and the guests' behavior is described as kindergarten. Unbelievable, we’ve never experienced anything like this!”

We really enjoy going to this restaurant, and in summer we prefer to go to the beer garden. The food is excellent, as is the service. It is a feel-good place to relax, recharge your batteries and enjoy. I would describe it as our local pub.

12.40 € for two juice spritzers 0.4 with very little fruit content in terms of taste, is really expensive. Plus dirty furniture, I won't be visiting again.

Loved everything from the sweet girl at the reception who speaks many languages, nice rooms, good breakfast, dinner in the restaurant is very tasty (fish from Lake Constance), nice view of the Alps and the lake, beautiful garden, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms , close to the pool with thermal waters! This is a great place in a special location, great views. We will definitely come back again. Impressive atmosphere!

Schönes Restaurant, gemütlich...mit einem schönen Biergarten...das Personal ist freundlich.

Super Küche mit exzellenter Bedienung. Das Essen war sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet, glutenfrei kein Problem, der Kellner (ein sehr junger netter Mann) als auch die Küche wußten perfekt Bescheid. Auch zum Frühstück ein sehr schönes Buffett, glutenfreie Brötchen kamen direkt aus der Küche. Wir haben im Neubau des Hotels übernachtet, herrlicher Blick auf den Bodensee, großer Balkon zum sonnen geeignet, das Zimmer sehr schön eingerichtet, ausreichend groß und absolute Ruhe in der Nacht. Betten hervorragend. Von hier ist man sehr schnell in Konstanz ob per Bus (Fahrscheine inkludiert vom Hotel) oder PKW. Auch zu Fuß kein Problem ca. 3 km geht die Promenade bis nach Konstanz. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.

Das Essen war superlecker, kann nicht verstehen wie solche negative Bewertungen Zustande kommen. Schweine Medaillons mit Gognac Rahm sosse und Pommes alles bestens auch das Schnitzel Supersaftig.Wenn Leute was negatives finden wollen tun sie alles dafür um dementsprechend eine Bewertung abzugeben, sehr schade.Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend also auch nichts negatives aufgefallen. Alles in allem ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt wir kommen gerne wieder. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team

Ein tolles Restaurant mit sehr leckerem Essen. Gab für mich auch ein veganes Essen. Das Kinderschnitzel war rießig, vom Erwachsenen-Schnitzel ganz zu schweigen. Große Portionen und super erreichbar mit dem Bus. Leider nicht barrierefrei.

Essen gut aber nicht spitze, Preise relativ hoch, aber eher für die schöne Lage gerechtfertigt. Wir sind dennoch gerne dort, das Gesamtpaket stimmt.

Tolles Restaurant in schöner Lage mit großer Terasse und schöner Aussicht auf den See. Essen und Service waren sehr gut.

Es ist immer wieder eine Reise wert. Komme gerne. Fühl mich richtig wohl. Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zimmer sind sauber und hübsch. Ich war schon einige Male da und in verschiedenen Zimmern, konnte immer gut und bequem schlafen, was bei mir nicht oft vorkommt. Tolle Aussicht auf den Bodensee. Gute Busverbindung in die Innendtadt, alle 20 Minuten. Habe schon eine weitere Übernachtung gebucht.

Die Lage kompensiert nicht die mangelhafte Qualität des Essens! Salatdressing geschmacklos, einige Blätter braun/ alt (also nicht in der Küche aussortiert!). Die Currywurst war eine geschmacksfreie Brühwurst mit roter Sauce... und das Geld nicht wert. Ärgerlich!

Ambiente unschlagbar. Essen ok. Bedienung Katastrophe. Das haut alles kaputt. Ewig warten bis überhaupt eine Bedienung kommt. Ein Bedienungsverwaister Garten! Sehr schade!

Recht gutes Hotel aber leider Massenabfertigung. Echt schick auf den ersten Blick. Aber es fehlt an guter Führung des Hotels.

Waren nur 1 Nacht dort, da wir mit den Rädern um den See gefahren sind. Waren total überrascht, da das Hotel im Internet nicht so schön ausgesehen hat. Radfahrer dort Willkommen. Räder kann man unterstellen. Zimmer sehr schön mit eigenem Badezimmer. Sehr sauber. Schöner Biergarten mit Blick auf den See. Diesen kann man in wenigen Gehminuten erreichen. Preisleistung voll OK. Essen sehr gut. Große Portionen.

Schönes Restaurant und freundliche Bedienung. Leider war das Essen von mir und meiner Begleitung sehr salzig, weswegen wir auch nicht auf Essen konnten. Das Ofen Gemüse welches auf dem Holzfäller Steak war, war kalt genauso wie das Gemüse auf dem Sportteller. Wenn man nur etwas trinken möchte, kann man da gut hingehen. Zum Essen allerdings nicht empfehlenswert.

Wir waren zur einer Hochzeit hier eingeladen. Erst waren wir draußen später drinnen und beides mal war alles sehr schön gestaltet. Der Außenbereich ist riesig und es gibt sogar für Paare so Strandkörbe wo man ungestört sitzen und die Aussicht auf den See genießen kann. Das Essen war sehr gut. Im Außenbereich ist auch eine Pizzahaus wo er wirklich eine sehr gute Pizza gibt (nur Paprika als Belag gab es nicht). Das Personal war sehr freundlich und auch schnell. Selbst das die ganzen Kleinkinder, sich die ganze Zeit auf der Eingangstreppe rumgespielt haben (die Eltern hat es nicht interessiert - Zeiten ändern sich anscheinend) und somit die Kellner/innen dauernd behindert haben wenn die mit Getränke und Essen rauskamen sind alle freundlich geblieben und Cool. Die Toilette war sehr sauber und auch im Restaurant haben wir keine Spinnweben an den Decken und Ecken entdecken können. Kommen jetzt öfters zum Essen.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Schöne Aussicht von der Terrasse. Einzige Verbesserung wenn das Essen zur gleichen Zeit am Tisch wäre und nicht im Abstand von knapp 10 Minuten Unterschied. Ansonsten schönes Lokal

Sehr nettes personal und sehr gutes essen

Ein wunderschön gelegener Gastronomiebetrieb mit einer grossen, romantischen Gartenwirtschaft unter altem Baumbestand. Sehr freundlicher Service. Der Weisswein war aromatisch und der Flammkuchen lecker. Etwas ausserhalb vom "Viel - Menschen - Schmelztigel - Konstanz" gelegen. Super für "schöne Augenblicke" mit deiner/deinem Liebsten 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨😉 Doch gehe hin und erlebt es selbst.

Wir haben unsere Hochzeit hier gefeiert und haben einen perfekten Tag dort genossen. Service ist dort super nett und flott gewesen. Auf individuelle Wünsche wurde bei der Planung direkt eingegangen. Das Essen kam sehr gut an und hat allen geschmeckt. Das Ambiente ist perfekt und der Partykeller erst, für eine solche Veranstaltung einfach genial. Danke für diesen perfekten Tag!
