Bread old, dry and tough. Pumpkin soup tasteless. Service says the bread is like that “because you don’t use any chemicals for the bread”. 😅 almost amusing again

Hard to find suitable words! I didn't know what I liked more: food, atmosphere or very nice, friendly and competent service. Everything is in wonderful harmony!

We (9 people) received a very nice welcome. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The portion size was more than okay and the price was also okay. Everyone was full and satisfied while eating. Gladly again. Taking the leftover food with you is difficult because there are only deposit containers for it. Nothing is wrapped in cling film. We were advised that otherwise it would only work with a napkin. We found that a bit of a shame.

Time for a snack outside (summer): very good cakes!

I've never had such a lousy meal out with company. Soup was just about the best. Potato salad was sour but I still ate it. So-called Maultaschen were undefinable. What kind of bland stuff was in the dough, most of it hung back and in the strange crumble apple cake or whatever it should have been with my sour apple There was better coffee on the way there in Winterthur in the morning

We sat for about 10 minutes and were not served. Waitresses and waiters walked past several times.

Service was nice but slow. Food is way too expensive for the quality. I can get a better curry at any Asian snack bar for half the price. Declared lemonade is simply Sprite. Food arrived very late. The people at the next table wanted to take leftover food with them and would have had to pay 5 euros for a Tupperware.

We ordered the roast beef once, the salad with falafel once and fries twice. Food was quite ok in terms of price. Not too cheap and not too expensive. The portions were good. The fries for the children were the last to arrive at the table. An absolute “no go” for me. For leftover food that you want to take with you, they only have reusable dishes with a deposit. You said it was a Germany-wide deposit system. I still didn't find it very customer-oriented. All in all, we were satisfied with the food, but customer-oriented service to guests is different.

Overall a nice place to have lunch when visiting the island. The service is great and our waiter was friendly. The downside would be the quality of the food which is not mind-blowing per se (which was not expected when visiting this island) but still good regardless.

Hand in hand with professional staff

At first it looked like we wouldn't get a seat as it was very crowded outside. But if you walk all the way inside, you will still find free tables and it was very cozy there. The food came very quickly for this crowd (15-20 minutes) and tasted very good. We were satisfied!

Pleasant tourist restaurant. In heavily touristy places the restaurants are usually of low quality, but not this one. It is large, but has sufficient and, above all, good and friendly staff. The food selection is wide-ranging and we enjoyed it. Prices are appropriate for the location. It's a good place to go if you're on the island of Mainau.

A very nice stay for coffee. The cake (raspberry magic and Black Forest cherry) was very tasty and recommended. The rose cocktail is an absolute hit in the warmth. But what is particularly worth mentioning is that the staff worked absolutely perfectly. A big praise. The restaurant was packed. During the time we were there there was a constant change at the tables. And yet everything went smoothly and worked and the staff smiled. Rare these days... Please keep it up. Very tasty food that was ready very quickly despite the expected large crowds. Very friendly and courteous staff who distract and keep the little guests busy with various little things. This means that parents and all other guests have a pleasant and relaxed stay. High praise, I have rarely experienced something like this. Thank you. We would like to come again.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food or the ambience. At 5:50 p.m. I sat down at a free table to have something to drink. After 2 minutes, the conditions were very unfriendly and I said, “We’re calling it a day!” Official opening hours are until 6:30 p.m. and there was still one table that was occupied. You could also have asked if I just wanted something to drink. It takes less than 40 minutes for a glass of water, cola or coffee when you visit a flower island. Very bad service I won't see this restaurant a second time!

Food was ok, my roast beef was a bit dry. The main course came quite shortly after the salad, so you didn't have time to finish it in peace. You also had to look for the sauce with a magnifying glass. And the fact that the June monthly menu, large on the menu, is not available in June is quite weak. More would be possible.

Never again Schwedenschenke on the island. After sitting at a table outside for 10 minutes and looking at the menu, a waitress (older man) yelled at us in a brisk tone that there was no waitress here. At the same moment he slams a piece of paper on the table. Reserved. He turns around and does the same to many other tables outside. No explanation, nothing. Even when asked again at a later moment, he simply moves on, shaking his head and waving his hand. I've never seen anything so outrageous in a restaurant. This person simply doesn't belong in the service.

I only give the star because we found the Schwedenschenke. After we had found a place, an employee came 5 minutes later and put a reserved card on each table with the unfriendly words "No service". It wasn't the only table that felt this way. It was just regular lunchtime. If the rush of guests cannot be managed, perhaps the outdoor area should be equipped with fewer tables.

A nice restaurant. The food tastes delicious. The portions are quite small. You don't get full.

The ambience is a little run down and is reminiscent of leftovers from the 70s. Food is very overpriced but tastes good. The staff very friendly. Toilets are reminiscent of an old swimming pool.

We were shocked by the price-performance ratio. We had the Wiener Schnitzel with fries three times and the char with vegetables and potatoes once for €28.90 each. The schnitzel was more like a shoe sole and the portions weren't nearly worthy of the price. I was still hungry after my fish. The fish dish was ok, but really not amazing. So really very disappointing. We ordered two small salads, which were also hardly seasoned. The drinks were probably diluted with water because they not only looked that way but also tasted that way. I'm happy to pay a little more when I go out to eat, but then it has to be worth the money. Am very disappointed. The service was very nice, but unfortunately that was it. We won't eat there again when we visit the island again.

Very unfriendly staff, you can only have a drink without a negative statement from the staff. Tables are not allowed to be put together. Statement: “You are not allowed to drink anything but you have to sit in the lounge.”

We were in the Christmas Garden and spontaneously decided to have dinner at Schwedenschenke around 8 p.m. The food was delicious as was the Lillet Spritz. The service was very friendly. Since we didn't have to wait long for our food, we had plenty of time to walk to the exit through the beautiful lighting.

Were there for the Christmas lights magic. We drank mulled wine there in the evening after 8 p.m. outdoors 👍 with the impressions of the magic lights on the tour, the ambience outside was perfect!!! The staff was super friendly! We'd love to come back.

I was there for lunch today with two small children. Two children's meals were ordered. Spaetzle with sauce and fries with schnitzel. Very unloving, to be honest. Pictures speak for themselves. This is how the spaetzle ended up at the table... Children's eyes can also eat!

It is a beautiful and rustic restaurant with a large terrace, a large winter garden and a cozy "dining room"! The food was very tasty and the portions were large. The menu mainly features hearty dishes but they all sound good! Despite there being a lot of people, the food came quickly and the staff was friendly.

We were there in warm weather, which is why everything outside was full. But we got a nice table inside. Service was attentive and very quick. Turkey steak and Wiener Schnitzel were very good. I see the fact that the chanterelle soup and the duchess potatoes were out at 2:30 p.m. as a positive.

Alles Tip Top :-) Freundliche und schnelle Bedienung. Das Essen war schmackhaft und das Ambiente im "Wintergarten" schön. P.S. die Eintrittspreise auf die Insel sind für eine Familie sehr teuer ... sicherlich ist die Pflege der schönen Gartenanlage jedoch auch sehr aufwendig.

Ein Stern Abzug gibt es lediglich wegen der doch recht hohen Preise (was natürlich normal ist an einem Touristenort) Ich als Vegetarier habe meistens Schwierigkeiten an touristenorten was gescheites zu finden, gerade an deftiger Küche. Ich habe hier sofort was gefunden (hatte perlgraupen risotto mit Pfifferlingen) und es war wirklich super lecker! Hatte mich schon wieder auf Kompromisse und Nudeln mit Pesto eingestellt, wurde aber sehr positiv überrascht! Gerne wieder!

Es war sehr viel los, daher mussten wir auf einen Tisch warten, der uns nicht zugeteilt wurde, sondern den wir selbst erkämpfen mussten. Der Service war toll, allerdings machten manche Kellnerinnen einen genervt Eindruck. Ich hatte Pute, die bei den dicken Stücken leider nicht durch war. Das Essen war lecker und unser Kellner war mega freundlich

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und kompetent, es ist sehr erwähnenswert das bei der Auswahl der Zutaten auf Regionale und vor allem auch auf Bio Produkte geachtet wird. Wir hatten Spargel und Wienerschnitzel, das Schnitzel war einigermaßen okay aber der Star auf dem Teller war Definitiv der Spargel.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ausgezeichneter Service, trotz sehr vollem Restaurant stets freundlich und aufmerksam. Schnitzel kommt in reichlich grossen Portionen und kann klein oder gross gewählt werden 👍🏻 Preislich ist es völlig fair und gerechtfertigt für einen touristischen Ort. Wir waren sehr zufrieden 👍🏻

Für die Menge an Menschen die in der Schwedenschenke essen fand ich das Essen sehr gut... für den Service der super nett und freundlich war 10 Punkte

Essen war super Wiener Schnitzel echt groß und auch die Spätzle und Pfeffersauce Preise sind ortsüblich nicht zu überteuert

Das essen war in Ordnung, normale portionen, leider gab es nicht mal kleinen salat oder brot zu denn gerichten, wie man eig immer obst kennt, die preise sind etwas hoch für die portionen.

Das Personal ist freundlich, könnte aber etwas schneller reagieren. Das Essen ist OK aber die Preise sind meiner Meinung nach viel zu hoch für das was man bekommt. Das scheint auf der Insel aber generell so zu sein...

In der Karte wird das Essen vollmundiger angepriesen als es dann auf dem Teller daher kommt Bsp. Schokokuchen (sehr klein) mit Erdbeersalat, waren dann genau 3 Erdbeeren halbiert oder zweierlei Schinkenteller waren dann 2 Scheiben je Sorte...sehr spärlich auch der Spargelsalat. Die Qualität war gut, aber die Preisleistung stimmt halt nicht. Ist ja trotz allem kein Gourmetlokal...

Minusy: -jedzenie było przeciętne, dostałam danie wegeteriańskie czyli kluski z sosem pomidorowym który był praktycznie nie przyprawiony, smakowało to wszystko byle jak, trochę przypominało to danie ze stołówki szkolnej, a nie z restauracji -gorące napoje podawane w szklankach, a nie w filiżankach, znowu jak w stołówce szkolnej Plusy: -obsługa w porządku, - krótki czas oczekiwania - dobra zupa rybna

Das Essen ist ok, aber leider ist wohl zu wenig Personal in der Küche wie auch im Service im Einsatz. Ich denke man war nicht auf den Andrang von Menschen vorbereitet - Wetterbericht nicht gelesen?
