Restaurant Tsomi in Berlin

Absolutely loved this Georgian restaurant! The food is insane, every dish tastes like it was made with real love. The khinkali were juicy and full of flavor, the khachapuri was perfectly cheesy, and the grilled meats were next-level tender. The service was super friendly, fast, and genuinely caring.

I had dinner at this specific typical Georgian restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was very nice and quiet, and everything was delicious. The only problem is that it's difficult to find someone who speaks English. Everyone speaks German and Russian.

One of the best Georgian restaurants I’ve ever visited.

Great food and service. Their chinkali and chatschapuri are must haves. When they serve the big Ajaruli chatschapuri, ask them to mix the filling for you, that’s an experience 🍴

The evening before, we had made a reservation by phone with a friendly waiter who said goodbye with "See you tomorrow!" We arrived at the reserved time, but the restaurant was empty except for the hurriedly bustling staff. At first, we thought the place had just opened. A man sitting at a table in the back, poring over some paperwork, shouted "We don't work today!" and made a dismissive gesture. When I asked in English that we had made a reservation yesterday, there was no answer; the rest of the staff just looked down. We would have understood any response. In my opinion, a genuine enjoyment of customer service or forward-thinking business acumen is expressed differently.

Overall, the food was very good, but I think it feels like a very commercial restaurant, and I didn't get that authentic Georgian flavor. That said, everything was quite tasty. I think I would have had a better experience if we had changed some of the dishes. What I liked most were the eggplants—they were delicious. I do recommend trying it.

The food was delicious, but the prices were quite high; €8 for tap water? The service didn't quite live up to the prices either.

Delicious Georgian food! The menu offers many vegetarian and vegan options, something I often miss in Eastern European restaurants. Our highlight was the khinkali with shrimp and aromatic herb sauce, accompanied by ghjali and Georgian wine. Everything, from the bread to the dessert, is freshly prepared, and you can taste the difference! The warm atmosphere makes the experience even more enjoyable. We decided to go on a whim and were pleasantly surprised!

For us, if we have khinkali with shrimp, that's something. Now we only read about it.

The food was good, but considering the relatively high prices, the service left much to be desired. We arrived in a group of seven, and two of the dishes were served 15 minutes apart. As a result, the other dishes were cold, and there was no explanation or apology. We weren't even asked if we needed anything else or if everything was alright. I tried several times to get a salt shaker from the waiter.

We visited Tsomi for the second time today and would definitely come back! The food is incredibly delicious, although quite expensive and on the pricier side, but it's absolutely worth it for a cozy evening! The atmosphere was very pleasant and quiet at 6 pm with few other guests, but from 7 pm onwards it became noticeably busier and louder, making conversation more difficult. On our first visit, we were lucky enough to get a table in a back room and would always prefer that. Even so, the atmosphere is still very pleasant. Reservations are highly recommended! The service was very friendly and extremely attentive, even if there were a few communication difficulties. Tsomi offers a regularly changing menu with many fantastic and delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes! To sample a bit of the menu and Georgian cuisine, we recommend sharing some dishes as a group!

It was delicious, the salad 🥗 was perfect, and the khinkali were amazing!

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, you can only lick your plate clean at home. 😋 The prices are a bit higher, but they reflect the high quality of the food. I'll definitely be back soon for another visit.

The food was quite good, and that's about it. Regarding the service: first, we waited 20-25 minutes for our table (even though we had a reservation)! Then, after the appetizers, we waited an hour for the first course. And another 1.5 hours for the second course...

On Tuesday, October 28th, we ordered Georgian specialties by phone and had them delivered to our home. The wait wasn't too long, and we were satisfied with the food. We recommend this restaurant.

A pretty good restaurant, though a bit overpriced! The menu could be a bit larger; you need a bit more energy sometimes. The restaurant's design was nice; we thought it was really cool. However, it was a bit too cramped. We'd gladly come back if we had more money to spend :-)

Update: I debated for a long time whether to add to this review, but I still think that if you were overpriced at a particular place, you should let me know. I travel to Berlin several times a year on business, and Tsomi has always been a must-see. Last time, the first thing I noticed was the price hike. I understand that demand has increased, but then the quality should also match (the prices are higher than in all the Georgian restaurants I've been to in Europe, including expensive cities like Brussels and Vienna). The lamb khinkali have become bland, and the khachapuri portion is very small for the price. It's the same story with the lemonades. The staff honestly asked if everything was okay, and I didn't bother them. The service was fine, but the question is simply what to compare it to, and compared to the same place a year ago, the difference is huge. We were so disappointed, though, that we've suddenly learned to make khinkali at home; there are advantages to everything. —— The lamb khinkali are amazing, I come to Berlin just for them 💔

Excellent Georgian cuisine, very attentive staff, kind, friendly, and very accommodating. The pleasant ambiance, even if a bit noisy, fits the place—full of life and delicious food; you can feel that the guests feel very comfortable. A great evening. Mtsvadi and lyulya kebab—perfectly prepared, as were the eggplant rolls. Next time, we'll definitely try khinkali. Highly recommended!

Outstanding Georgian restaurant. All the food was delicious.

The food was great and the atmosphere too. I'd recommend to go there to have a nice evening. What could be improved: service -> we had to ask for the menus after 10 minutes we'd sat on the table; €4/person for "infinite" supply of water is a lot in my opinion!

Khinkali with shrimp! Sounds strange, but tastes really good, even though in Tbilisi it would probably be considered a minor culinary sin.

We had reserved a table by phone and arrived at the restaurant five minutes early, where the staff bustled around, completely ignoring us. Then the apparent owner yelled at us in broken English: "Closed today," without making eye contact. Not recommended.

Be sure to make a reservation on the restaurant's website. If you want to visit between 6 and 8 PM, it's very crowded, but there are plenty of seats, so you won't have to wait long. The menu offers a huge selection of meats, kebabs, soups, salads, and (I really liked) khachapuri. The lamb khinkali was incredibly delicious; it had a balanced flavor, wasn't too salty, and was very, very juicy. I can only give the khinkali a 10/10 because they were some of the most delicious khinkali I've ever had. Also included are drinks, such as a green one made of estragon and very cool teas. It cost 70 euros for two without desserts and alcohol, but it was worth it. (1 Star down in "Ambiente" because of the really loud music)

We had a really nice evening — the service was friendly, warm, and attentive throughout. We ordered 2 khachapuri, 2 khinkali, a small piece of meat, a bottle of wine, coffee, and dessert. They even offered us an after-dinner drink, which was a lovely touch. The bill came to €60 per person — fair enough for the quality and experience. Unfortunately, when it came time to pay, the waiter spoiled things a bit by complaining about not receiving a tip. Sorry my friend, but are we in America? 🇺🇸 And honestly, that’s not something you should be asking for. Such a shame, because the evening had been perfect until then.

For us, it was our first culinary experience with Georgian cuisine. It was a real treat, a true feast for the palate. Everything was perfect; perfectly cooked and seasoned. The aroma blew us away. The four of us paid €220, including drinks and tip, which we found absolutely reasonable. If that's too expensive for such excellent craftsmanship, go for a kebab 😉 For starters, we had the mixed platter, a first taste of the world of flavors. (Unfortunately, we devoured it before a photo could be taken.) The main courses can be seen in the photos...

Delicious food. Not worth the price really. Spent 50€ for 2 of us and we did not even order drinks, only 6 pcs of chinkali and 1 chachapuri. The fact that they don't present an option to refuse giving tips is dissapointing and uncomfortable. Given that chef comes to you and mixes cheese in your chachapuri you're basically forced to give that tip even though the mixing part is laughable and weird for everybody involved.

We made a reservation with a group. The food was delicious and there was a wide selection. The cuisine was truly excellent, and the service was good, although at times I felt that one of the servers was very reserved and distant. But at the end, there was a smile. I would come back just for the food!

The best Georgian restaurant I’ve eaten at in Berlin. We had Khachapuri, kebab, and Chanakhi—all prepared perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the experience truly enjoyable.

The restaurant has a great environment, good for any type of group. The food is good but I was expecting a little more in terms of taste. Staff is average, I have nothing to complain but also nothing to highlight.

Unfortunately, I find the place quite lacking. The dishes are very, very small for the price they charge. And the meat dishes are unfortunately also quite oversalted. Presumably to get you to order more drinks. I recently ordered "Lobio" – it's listed as a vegetarian dish – and paid €21 for it. I can say that what I was served was ridiculously small – a few beans smeared on the plate. Honestly, you expect a bit more for the money. In terms of taste, I'd rate it 3.5 out of 5. I know the cuisine very well, and it wasn't really authentically prepared. I won't necessarily come here again.

Tasty Georgian food in Prenzlauer Berg. I’ve been a few times to this restaurant, I like their Khinkali (they have vegan variation) and the Khachapuri that they mix on the table (see video). I’ve had Georgian food in other Berlin restaurants, but this is my go-to. No Borjomi sadly. The salads are also good, you need some veggies with all the carbs. And with some Chacha we closed the night.

The size of the dishes are 2x smaller then they used to be for the same or similar price. Quality still great. The menu is also 2x smaller then it was.

We really enjoyed the food, the service was very efficient, and we didn't have to wait for anything other than the food being prepared, which is normal. The garden was packed, which means the food is really tasty there. It's a bit pricey, but overall, I can recommend it.

The service was excellent, the place had a good atmosphere with the terrace expanding into the building the whole place felt open and spacious. The Georgian food was good, and accompanied by Georgian wine was even better.

I am amazed by the wonderful food and atmosphere of Georgia in the heart of Berlin! Khinkali were really incredibly tasty and reminded me of both my favorite place in Kyiv and one of the restaurants in Tbilisi ❤️. Burata with beetroot and pomegranate seeds perfectly complemented this dinner. I will now recommend it to friends who want to try real Georgian cuisine. ✨

This is becoming a favorite of mine. The atmosphere is super cozy and warm. It's gets really busy in the evenings and on weekends so reservations are highly recommended. They also only take card, no cash. Service is friendly and welcoming. It can be a little bit slow and we had to flag down staff often but the food is well worth it. We ordered the chicken tabaka and aus dem Ofen. Chicken was tender, juicy, full of flavor and roasted to perfection. The eggplant dish was equally delicious. Everything tasted really fresh and was well prepared. Would also recommend the Khinkali and open cheese khatchapuri. You won't regret it!

We went out to eat with family, as we had never eaten Georgian food before, and we were all very pleasantly surprised by the food. The portion sizes were very generous, and we all enjoyed the meal. We went for lunch on a Sunday, and there were still plenty of tables available. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a delicious dinner.

Yesterday, I went to Tsomi Restaurant with my sister. We're both from Georgia, and since it was her birthday yesterday, we wanted to have Georgian food. Unfortunately, other, much better and less "fancy" restaurants were already closed. That's why we ended up here. We waited 18.5 minutes until a waiter came over so we could finally order. It wasn't particularly busy, but the waiters repeatedly ignored us and our hand signals. When one finally came over, we wanted to order drinks first. I asked if it was really Georgian lemonade. The waiter replied, "This lemonade is so Georgian." Shortly after, we ordered our food. About four minutes later, another waiter brought the drinks, and they were anything but "so Georgian." They were just the color of the original Georgian drinks, but tasted nothing like them. We thought it couldn't get any worse. Then the food arrived. Luckily, we hadn't ordered any other dishes. It looked "fancy," but the taste was way below par. It had absolutely nothing to do with Georgian cuisine. It seemed as if it had been made with blue cheese or some other disgusting ingredient. So, for anyone who absolutely wants to eat Georgian food, don't go there! Staff: 1/10, Food: Below 0/10, "Georgian" drink: 0/10 And the worst part: The staff here are predominantly Russian-speaking, and they do it in a completely disrespectful manner. We'll definitely never be back. 20% of Georgia is occupied by Russia 🙂

The food was good, but unfortunately, the overall experience only warrants 2 stars. 1. The waiters only try to be friendly towards their fellow Germans and were very arrogant and slow with us. For the price of the dishes, that's an absolute no-go. While the food is tasty, it's very basic and not particularly unusual. The "good guests" were also served a schnapps at the end, but we and a few other Germans, of course, weren't. We left full, but with a very bad feeling. We wouldn't go there again.

Tsomi, located on Kollwitzplatz, is in direct competition with Blauer Fuchs. Both restaurants have a distinctive style, are very popular in Prenzlauer Berg, and offer high-quality Georgian cuisine. The large appetizer platter at Tsomi, however, is good, but not top-notch—and at a whopping €45, it's completely overpriced. How can one explain these enormous price jumps? It really spoils the experience.

Frankly very disappointed. Felt more like a posh kebab shop than a gourmet restaurant. The flavours were less full than I have had elsewhere. We were encouraged to have a selection of mains and share, which in the event was not what we wanted. I had an unremarkable small whole chicken with potato wedges. Shared starter platter was good between five. Waiter insisted it wouldn't be enough but it was. I have been to a much better Georgian restaurant that was similar in price.

The food was delicious, and we also enjoyed the Georgian wine. The house red wine didn't impress us. The prices are high, and the birthday party at the neighboring tables was quite loud at times.

In Summe ein ansprechendes Lokal. Einrichtung geschmackvoll, Service gut, überschaubare Karte. Gerichte gut angerichtet, schmackhaft zubereitet. Was in Sachen Preisgestaltung nicht so ganz passt, ist die Menge und hier geht es nicht um Masse! Wir waren etwas enttäuscht, da die Hauptgerichte etwas schmal ausgefallen sind.
