Restaurant Taverna Artemis in Schleswig

August 22, 2025 We really wanted to have Greek food, but since there weren't many restaurants open nearby at lunchtime, we drove to Schleswig to visit the Greek restaurant in the Friedrichsberg district. The interior is typically Mediterranean and looks quite new. The space isn't large, but it's well-used without feeling cramped. Due to the time of day—the restaurant had only been open for about an hour—we were quickly asked for our order several times. We ordered beef liver for lunch and the Hermes plate. The food arrived quickly, and we were truly delighted. We've never had beef liver prepared so well before; the gyros and bifteki were also very good and beautifully presented. The value for money is very good. We highly recommend this restaurant and also recommend the lunch specials. Many thanks to the staff; we'll definitely be back. 😀 😉

We were there on September 11, 2025, based on other reviews and were not disappointed.

We arrived without a reservation, and it was very busy. We were allowed to stay, and despite the time limit, we weren't rushed. The staff was very friendly. But the food... I've never had such a good gyro. Barely any fat and really well-seasoned, simply amazing 👍 We were very satisfied and would come back on our next vacation.

Unfortunately, our order was brought too quickly. A starter and main course without a break simply doesn't work. The timing was off. The extremely friendly waitress was sorry, but it's no good; it shouldn't happen. It's a shame, because the food was truly first-class and a bit too plentiful.

Modern and bright with very attentive service. Ultimately, though, it's the food that won us all over! Large portions and incredibly delicious! The fries are incredibly crispy, and the gyro is probably the best we've ever eaten! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6 stars for the gyro!

I ate at Taverna Artemis with my husband and daughter, and it was the best Greek food I've ever had! The portions were generous, and my vegetarian daughter said it had the most vegetarian options on the menu she'd ever seen. We all loved it! 5/5⭐️

We had the lunch menu. Pollock with fried potatoes. One portion was good, but my pollock was cooked quite dark, making it dry.

Delicious food, generous portions after a day outdoors! We were greeted warmly, and even without booking, we still managed to get a seat. I recommend the large appetizer plate for two. But be careful, afterward, you can choose smaller portions for the main course. I only gave the food 4 stars to leave room for improvement. It was really good. We'll definitely be back.

Went with a group of friends. We ordered some drinks and got 4 big gyros and they were pretty decent. For some reason we thought we would get some sort of bread witht gyros, but it’s just the meat. However, it was still very good. It’s definitelly pricier compared to what I am used to but locally seemed reasonable. Overall, decent place for some good food

I always go home incredibly full. The food tastes wonderful; I'm very satisfied. For my main meal, I order three smaller vegetarian appetizers. The portions are generous, taste great, and are very filling. My husband has tried several meat variations and is always satisfied. The service is fast, good, and always very friendly. Since the restaurant is always very busy, you should make a reservation in advance. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. We always enjoy coming here.👍

It was very busy today, so we sat there with some nice people. The atmosphere was very friendly and helpful. We had a 500g steak and a lamb platter. Very tasty 😋. We've made a reservation for next weekend.

We went out to eat for our son's birthday, and the background music was borderline awful! Rap with not-so-nice lyrics. Definitely not for children's ears. Very unpleasant. The food was too salty, and the salad, which cost almost 15 euros, was more coleslaw than chicken salad. A real shame!

I'm sorry, but the reviews don't make sense. :-( I ordered over the phone and was told everything would be ready in 10 minutes. Who can make a decent dish in 10 minutes? The quality wasn't good. A schnitzel made hot in the deep fryer... That's not possible. Baked sheep's cheese was just a "soup" without any additives. My meat was dry and the liver had green streaks. :-( I wouldn't eat there, especially not now. Everything is way too tight... The "temp" who handed me the food in a paper bag should ask himself whether "smiling" wouldn't be better for business. Bar or card... :-( Nope. That wasn't for us. Too bad! ......and it was cold too...... :-(

The food and service are excellent. The furnishings are modern, but the acoustics in the restaurant are not particularly good, so it quickly gets loud and you can hear the conversations of the neighboring tables...

Highly recommended, while waiting for our order I looked enviously at the beautifully prepared plates at the other tables. This will probably be our Greek for the future.

The food was very tasty and the service was very accommodating. That's important to me.

Price/performance is top. It always tastes great. All employees are friendly and attentive. Parking is sometimes a bit awkward and I find the chairs too soft.

Wir waren das erst mal dort, von Freunden Eingeladen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich Empfangen, und hatten die möglichkeit uns ein Tisch für 7 Personen auszusuchen. Der erste Eindruck vom Personal und Ambiente war sehr schön. Das Essen war sehr lecker und Reichlich! Haben sogar Rest eingepackt bekommen. Sehr Sympathischer Inhaber und Bedienpersonal. Bei der Bedienung immer für kurzes freundliches Gespräch Schöner kurzweiliger Aufenhalt!

Just had our Christmas party there. The food was super tasty. I had gyros with hollandaise sauce, which I haven't seen anywhere before and I have to say, it was really tasty! And it was a lot! Since the restaurant was full, the service staff had a lot to do and you still got your drinks quickly. So today was my first time there but not the last time!

Ordered something to take away today, it was ready quickly and simply delicious, everything was still juicy and hot. Simply a great price-performance ratio. By far the best Greek here

Very nice restaurant. The restaurant was right downstairs from our hotel so we thought we would give it a try. The food was very tasty. The staff was very friendly and it wasn't a problem to have the food packed up at the end. The only drawback was that both plates were packed in one package and so everything got mixed together, but that wasn't a big problem for us.

We had chicken suflaki. Unfortunately there was pressed meat, which is a real no-go for a restaurant... You really can't serve something like that. Please a little more quality and slightly smaller portions. You'll definitely drive just as well with it.

We ate in the restaurant with 4 people without a reservation. Good selection of dishes. Plates were well filled. Sometimes a little too much, rarely these days. It tasted very good - rarely eaten so well.

Unfortunately, Artemis has slowed down quite a bit and raised the prices quite a bit. The portions are now smaller and the prices are higher. The starter salad was a bit cheeky in terms of quantity.

I was there for lunch and found the selection of dishes very good. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was well attended and there was a relaxed atmosphere. Everything was clean, neat and tidy. You'll be happy to come back here.

More appearance than reality. Were there two years ago and were thrilled. Unfortunately it has worn off a lot. The draft beer was warm, the tzatziki didn't taste like anything, as did the side spinach and the rösti. The chef has apparently forgotten how to taste.

The Taverna Artemis is an absolute must for us when we are on holiday in Schleswig. Everything is just right here. Have tried different dishes and have not been disappointed so far. We'll definitely be back.

Leckeres Essen - Fleisch und Fisch super gegart, die Beilagen waren auch sehr schmackhaft, sehr aufmerksames Personal, kühle Getränke, auch ein kostenloser Ouzo war dabei. Wir haben nur gute Erfahrungen gemacht heute Abend. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten, bekamen wir die Möglichkeit ab 17 Uhr bis ca. 18.45 Uhr zu essen. Da die Bestellungen zügig bearbeitet wurden, reichte die Zeit völlig aus. Einzig der Preis für Latte Macchiato fanden wir zu hoch, die anderen Preise waren der Größe und Menge der Speisen angemessen. Wir würden wieder kommen bei unserem nächsten Trip nach Schleswig.

Well-attended Greek restaurant - even on Monday evenings. We had a Greek salad with a very tasty mild sheep's cheese. Then a Cretan plate with lamb and gyros and a roasted turkey filled with cheese and also a plate of grilled vegetables. The food was delicious and the portions are huge

I come here regularly for lunch. Very good food for a good price. Nice service and pleasant atmosphere. My tip is the gyros plate with crispy fries and an espresso for dessert. Keep it up.

Huge portions that are also very well prepared. The increased price is certainly justified, but you should probably start with a small portion the first time so that you don't have to pack half of it.

We called spontaneously and got a table outside. At 6:30 p.m. everything was full. We both had number 63 and were thrilled & full 👌🏽. Service was very nice (even though it was so full), food was delicious...everything was perfect 🥰

We were on vacation here in the area, like last year. We made a note of the Artemis Taverna. We each had pork fillet with metaxa sauce and gratinated with cheese. Delicious. Good service and a very nice atmosphere. If we lived here we would definitely be here more often.

Unfortunately you can only give 5 stars! I think the restaurant has just been renovated. In any case, it has a great look, not as overloaded with wood as usual, chic and modern! The ingredients of the dishes were fresh and of excellent quality. Taste is of course a personal matter, but I maintain that I have never eaten Greek better anywhere! The staff was awesome! Quick and friendly, I was surprised at the short waiting times. A great meal! But, be sure to reserve!!

Very nice staff and delicious food

We were so happy and lucky to be able to eat there several times, because it's a gamble to get a table there without making a reservation. The service is top notch, the staff are all just warm people. The bosses remained normal, great people. Seating options in front of the house, in the backyard, and of course in the building.

My husband and I went to Artemis for the first time. We reserved a table for 6 p.m. today. The staff is very friendly, attentive and quick. We had numbers 61 and 63, both were fantastic. The meat has a great grilled taste and the portions are generous. Unfortunately we don't live in Schleswig, so we can't come back that easily.

We had dinner there with friends yesterday and everyone was thrilled. The portions are really huge, the food is damn tasty and the fries are really good. Unfortunately, they didn't want to tell us how they are made. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back to eat there. Thanks for the hospitality

This is a restaurant that convinced us the most during the 2 weeks of vacation: Nice staff, nice atmosphere, good food at reasonable prices - and - the portions are for "lumberjacks", I didn't manage to finish my Mykonos grill plates. Tip: Definitely visit!

Ein vom Schloss Gottorf gut zu erreichender wunderbarer Grieche. Am Essen und vor allen an der Grösse der Portionen ist absolut nichts auszusetzen. Ob Vorspeisensalat oder Hauptgericht einfach nur klasse. Preise absolut o.k.

The absolute best Greek! They are great, large portions and Sedin and his team do a great job! Unfortunately, the background noise is quite loud because everything is kept very open. However, the rest of the ambience is very nice with pictures and subtle lighting highlights. The food is fresh, hot and always delicious!
