Our reference Greek restaurant (no one has ever been better). You can only eat as well in Greece. Friendly staff who keep track of things even when the restaurant is full. The portions are gigantic, as is often the case with Greek restaurants. Reservations are highly recommended. July 7, 2025: These days, you have to make significant compromises with the food. For example, calamari used to always come with a delicious remoulade, but now they only offer ketchup and mayonnaise. Now everything is dry. The same applies to other dishes.

We visited the Symposion restaurant in Düsseldorf and were absolutely thrilled. The atmosphere was cozy and authentic, and the service was very warm and attentive. We tried various meze appetizers and grilled skewers – everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and delicious. The wine recommendation was also wonderful. A piece of Greece in the heart of Düsseldorf – we'll definitely be back!

The dishes are very filling; you'll easily fill yourself up. Our leftovers were packaged impeccably, even without the raw onions sprinkled on them. If you like rustic Mediterranean food, you'll definitely get your money's worth here.

The staff was warm, attentive, and pleasantly present – ​​you can feel that they work with passion. All in all, a truly lovely evening with a great atmosphere, delicious food, and a feeling of being on vacation in the heart of Düsseldorf. We'll definitely be back! 🇬🇷

I knew the restaurant from before, and today I ate there again for the first time in a long time. All I can say is, the portion was large, the quality was top, the salad was fresh, the dressing was very interesting and delicious, and the price was completely reasonable. Seven years ago, I was invited to this restaurant once and didn't really like it. The plates were overloaded and the taste was "ordinary." I went there again and the food is now excellent! For me, this is currently the best Greek restaurant in Düsseldorf. The tzatziki is absolutely delicious. The moussaka is mouthwatering, and the meat dishes, gyros, etc., are delicious, juicy, and fresh. It might be a bit out of the way for some, but definitely give it a try. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We ordered 2 meals, 1 for 1 person, 1 for 2 people. The were 3 of us. Don't make the same mistake... That was a huge amount of food we couldn't finish. It was very tasty food, mind you. The service was also incredible. Definitely recommend, just don't order more than you can stomach (literally)

Brilliant! I've never had so much from a Greek before. There were 7 of us there and a platter for 2 people would have easily been enough for everyone. The salad plate alone before the main course would have been enough for the main course for 4 people. And last but not least, everything tasted great!

I've known the Symposion for 30 years. The food is always good, the portions are huge. The service is absolutely attentive. I'm always happy to come back.

Service was very attentive and friendly. Feta gratinated starter tasted very good but €9.50 is an announcement. Portion of tzatziki with 5-6 baguette slices, which were unfortunately very dry and untoasted. The tzatziki was excellent. Price of €5.50 is borderline. I think it's also worth a glass of 0.4l cola for €5.50. I had a gyros plate with tzatziki for €18.50. The portion size was large, the fries were delicious, my companion and I found my gyros very bland in taste and unfortunately the meat was also extremely dry. The other main course was pork medallions in a metaxa cream sauce, meat had great grill flavors and was juicy, but the sauce was quite sweet. But it's not a point of criticism because tastes are of course different. Each main course came with a side salad consisting of lamb's lettuce with a vinegar and oil dressing, coleslaw, some frisée salad and a dollop of tzatziki. The salad was fresh and delicious and the tzatziki could have been left out. Price performance is not OK in our opinion. In our opinion, you should either make the prices a little more moderate or increase the quality. Maybe we just had a bad day on a carnival Sunday. The menu offers a lot of choice from schnitzel to steak to Greek grill dishes, I think there is something for everyone.

Came spontaneously and got a seat easily, even though it was very full. A small one was simply “branched off” from a large table. We personally found the food a bit bland (gyros with tzatziki). But that's a matter of taste and you can season it. Staff was friendly and attentive.

The food was very tasty. We all got a small salad on the house to start with. The pita bread not only looks good but also tastes good. We also had pureed eggplant. For the main course I had the salmon fillet with potato slices. I can highly recommend it. The fish was very tender. A highlight were the walnut cake and the Greek semolina cake. Very good. Ambience was pleasant. Staff very attentive.

Still a good Greek restaurant, unfortunately it declines with each visit (we go there about once a year), The waiters are sluggish, sometimes I sat for 20 minutes without a drink even though the waiter passed by several times. Something also went wrong with the orders, 2 of 20 meals were wrong and 4 beefteki only came when the others were already ready. My metaxa sauce for the beefteki was on the table 10 minutes before the beefteki even arrived, which was very strange. Nevertheless, it was a very nice evening ☺️

Wow...one of the best Greeks in Düsseldorf. You were treated like a prince. The waiter was very friendly funny. Our space for 2 people was very generous. The tzatziki was very tasty, as was the starter salad. The bifteki with potato slices also tasted very good. I can only recommend Symposium and will definitely come back.

Known, at least in our area, as a good Greek with huge portions for three decades. After a few years I've been there again, still incredibly large portions of the very best quality. Naturally, the prices have risen somewhat, but are still completely reasonable. Atmosphere very pleasant, courteous and very friendly service. Still an absolute recommendation.

We got a table without a reservation. The service was nice. There is a large selection of food. As a starter we had the garlic bread with tomatoes and feta cheese, which was really very tasty. Fresh and spicy. Then as a main course we had the gyros with fries and tzatziki and the gratinated gyros. Unfortunately, the two dishes didn't convince us. The normal gyro was very dry and the gratinated gyro was very, very fatty. However, the tzatziki tasted really good.

Food, large portions (epic value for money based on portion size). But not a good Greek... the bread tastes bought, the gyros is not tasty but just greasy and chewy.. the minced steaks are very soft and loveless.. fresh pieces, rather tough than on point ...others were very impressed with things like feta. no fried potatoes, just fried goods (bare potato slices and croquettes/fries).. so kept very simple. Tzatziki is not standard for meat platters. Only for certain dishes (the professional keeps it from the salad in advance. The staff was a bit tedious but very friendly. And there was also ouzo that was good and appreciative. Waiting times were short and good. They were always friendly and warm. Clear plus point. I think it would just be cool if they would reflect on a few things and rethink them. I wouldn't go there a second time. But if e.g. If the portions were smaller but of higher quality, it would be a great fit.

War zum erstenmal in diesem Restaurant , von 18 - 22.15 Uhr. Das Restaurant war als ich ging immer noch sehr gut besucht.

Wir kommen schon 30 Jahre hier hin und wir wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Waren jetzt schon sehr lange nicht mehr da. Aber es schmeckt immer noch sehr gut hier. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Macht weiter so.

Die Auswahl auf der Speisekarte ist reichlich und das Essen war lecker. Der Service war schnell und aufmerksam. Es gab ein lecker Schumi 😀 Würde auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen.
