Restaurant Suhag in München

I always order butter chicken from every Indian restaurant and it always tastes great. However, what Suhag understands by butter chicken is absolutely subterranean. The taste is simply chicken in a tomato sauce and tastes watery. I wouldn't recommend anyone to order the butter chicken here.

The food was pretty average. I ordered the paneer fritters there. But the quality of the paneer wasn't that good. I ordered another dish of paneer but that too went to waste. I couldn't finish my food. The reason for the three stars is that I had ordered fish the night before at the same place, which was better than the paneer.

I have ordered. The food was of absolutely substandard quality. Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala only tasted like unseasoned tomato sauce. Inedible and an absolute disgrace for the price. Food came significantly later than stated. I complained over the phone and was not offered any compensation.

The ambience of the restaurant is very good. We tried the vegetarian option. Naan was very good. The paneer butter masala and Veg biriani were tasty. The gobi manchuria is a must try in this restaurant. The vegetable Jalfrezi was pretty ordinary, and it was floating in the oil.

Very poor service and I was charged more than I ordered. Since we were a large group, the staff probably thought they could afford it and not notice it. The price-performance ratio for the mini buffet is not right here either. Store was pretty empty for a Saturday evening.

Reasonably priced lunch buffet, with a good selection. But: - Unfortunately the soup didn't taste like anything, which is a shame given the great variety of Indian spices. - - The salad buffet was quite meager. - The chicken was extremely tough, but the sauce was nice and spicy. The rest was quite bland in taste - the first time I've added salt to Indian food - and the pakora was cheap frozen food. - I liked the dessert, various fresh fruits in a kind of mango cream. Who knows, maybe the à la carte menu is better. The service was very nice and also kept a close eye on the buffet for refills and cleanliness. I really liked the atmosphere.

I attended the buffet lunch today. The cost was within reason; however, the quality of the food was disappointing. Additionally, a €6 charge was incurred for drinking water. I do not recommend this establishment.

We ordered through Uber eats and the Uber eats driver mixed up the order - which the restaurant can't do anything about. The employee on the phone at the restaurant was super nice and contacted Uber eats for us. Super courteous service, thank you!

Worst restaurant ever. No respect, no attention to the client. Cold tasteless white rice (menu insists that rice is with safron) and a small portion of meat with little sauce. Price is prohibitive for what it is.

Were there in the evening where a wedding was taking place at the same time. As a result, the music was very loud and it was difficult to talk to each other. But we were told this before the seat election. We each had a starter which was also good. The main course was very good, but I had a dish that was advertised as mild, but in my opinion could have been a little spicier. Service was good but not great as the attention was on the side event. All in all very happy. Would come again.

Was here with a friend and at the same time were able to enjoy an Indian wedding that was taking place at the same time in the restaurant. At some point a child started crying loudly and had to be taken out. All in all, interesting to see. The food was good, the service slow, although probably due to the wedding. Overall, definitely a good Indian restaurant with good food.

The food itself was very good and tasty. However, the service is subpar. We easily had to wait 40 minutes even though the restaurant was almost empty. At the same time the service was quite unfriendly.

There were four of us with a Schlemmerblock voucher for dinner. We can't understand the negative reviews from other guests. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted warmly. Our waiter Ronny also had a funny saying or joke up his sleeve from time to time. We felt completely comfortable. We chose two starter platters, one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian. Huge and almost impossible to do. Then also a hearty main course. Prices here between 15 and 20 € are great. Re-ordering drinks was also very quick and without any problems right at the table. The restaurant is huge and would therefore be a good location for larger celebrations. Keep it up and see you next time. Best regards

Disaster! We waited almost 1.5 hours for our order and were then bullied on the phone and couldn't cancel. Never again.

We ordered food, instead of 20-45 minutes it only arrived after 1 hour and 10 minutes. In addition, the food (butter chicken) was really not good. We were also treated very unfriendly on the phone. Unfortunately I can't recommend it at all.

We all enjoyed the food, the menu is huge, which overwhelmed us all a bit. The service is very slow, or rather you wait a long time for the food even when there isn't much going on. 1 meal was brought incorrectly, but they insisted that it was correct. With the exception of one, the waiters don't speak any German and hardly any English either, so asking questions is difficult. All in all we liked it and we will definitely come back.

The taste was really delicious, nothing special, but typically Indian, very tasty. But: the condition cannot speak a word of German, not even standard words in the industry, not even the word “Hello”. And the boss: just outrageous. I wonder how you can be SO unfriendly and not customer-oriented. You just didn't feel comfortable because of him, he came to the table, threw the menu on it and left, came a short time later and shouted at you whether you knew what to drink. Towards the end (we had the gourmet pad) he snatches the cell phone out of my hand to take a photo of the voucher and it falls to him. Aside from asking if he can hold the phone for a moment, he could apologize for dropping it. In summary: the food is delicious, but the service is bad if they can't even speak a few words (if you have contact with customers, you should at least be able to do the bare minimum) and the boss is not only unfriendly and completely customer-oriented, but also really rude and should learn that you can't afford everything and that even if you don't work with customers, you could be a nice person and not treat other people like that.

I order only Malai kofta but they give with rice which I didn't order and the taste was very bad😞. I never recommend to anyone.

Ordered via delivery service. The Chicken Tikka Masala was good. In the beef sabzi, the meat was extremely tough like gristle or pure fat. The rice was mediocre as it could have been cooked a minute longer. The latter was at least a matter of taste. The chicken pakora was disgusting. It tasted like it had been reheated in the microwave. I've never had to try such dried-out meat in a rubbery breading before. Thank God and hopefully never again. The tandoori roti was halfway okay. It was a bit crunchy instead of fresh. But at least otherwise well done. However, one of 3 sauces had already leaked during delivery. When unpacked the food was lukewarm. That was the first and last time we ate something from there. The delivery time was 50 minutes instead of around 30.

EDIT: Unfortunately, we recently had a less pleasant visit to Suhag. The team was probably still in rest mode, the order was not taken at an even acceptable time, nor did the ordered dishes come to the table quickly. We waited for almost an hour at a nearly empty restaurant. It was also incredibly loud because a party buffet in the next room was apparently being dismantled and right next to our table all of the restaurant's cutlery was polished for over 15 minutes and thrown into large, metal containers. This time we were also disappointed in terms of taste, the curries were oily and thin, the rice lacked fluffiness, and the raita was neither creamy nor well seasoned. It's a shame, we would have liked to come more often. This experience today and keep you safe from it. Original rating 4 stars: Super friendly service (although sometimes only in English), colorful atmosphere, good food. The selection of dishes is rather large; there are also beef dishes on the menu (typical of North Indian cuisine). Great: You can also find dishes that are not offered at every Indian restaurant in the city. The number of chilies next to the dish indicates how spicy the food will be. There are also numerous vegan and vegetarian options. Even the dessert selection is a little larger than usual. The round building is a bit special, you sit in a semicircle around the bar area. But the interior has been lovingly decorated to create a cozy atmosphere. There is probably an occasional buffet, but you can definitely book it for larger groups and celebrations. Tip: The tandoor dish “Mushroom Paneer” was very spicy and the portion with various vegetables was very tasty. The vegetarian Bagan Mirchi ka Salan (🌶️🌶️), which is rarely found, was also very good!

It's a good fine dining place, but the taste was a bit below European desi food taste. I've had better mint paratha. The chicken karahi was not chicken karahi at all. The biryani was acceptable. I guess the bbq would be nice but will have to see. They also seem to have a stage so you can host parties too.

Eine Portion "Überraschungstüte" via TGTG (für "nur" 6,50 Euro statt 19,50 Euro) war in meinen Augen eine Frechheit -- wie schon früher hier einmal beanstandet die Seiten in der Packung "verwechselt", ein großer Haufen Reis mit etwas scharfer Linsensoße, die ansonsten nach nichts schmeckte. Ein einzelnes kleines Stückchen Hühnerfleisch mitten im Reis. Bekommt man so etwas, wenn man sich von hier Essen liefern lässt? Was für ein Gericht soll das sein? Dafür würde niemand im Traum die angeblichen 19,50 Euro Normalpreis bezahlen! Selbst die 6,50 Euro sind in meinen Augen eine Unverschämtheit für die dafür gebotene Menge und Qualität. Ich esse (und koche) sehr gerne indisch, am liebsten beim Mehfil am Harras, da stimmen Qualität und Preis. TGTG ist für mich oft ein Test, und in diesem Fall hat mich die gebotete Leistung davor bewahrt, jemals hier zum Essen zu gehen.

I was allowed and supposed to take my papadums from the buffet. That's okay. But when the main course I ordered comes and I'm asked if I want to continue using the plate (with leftover sauces), that's not possible. Ecology and sustainability are all well and good, but I would like a minimum of service. The food was "well". I will visit other Indian restaurants in the future

I ordered direct to restaurant. Restaurant owner talk very good. I don’t know how is today any bangali person he just took my order and said in 30 minutes we will send your food. After 1 hour we call him then he talk with me very rudely. We wait 20 minutes more than we call again but he didn’t pick my call. I’m very disappointed because I have friends my home and he want food. I will never order again to suhag restaurant. I don’t know who is on phone at 22:45. It’s very bad.

The person was talking in very bad manners and disrespectful, and disconnected our call again and again. Worth experience, never ever order again. Decent place with many options. Suitable for big events and parties. Need to specifically tell your needs and expectations for the best taste. I have visited this place twice and tried different dishes and can say it was a mixed experience.

We celebrated a birthday there a while ago, but left with a mixed impression. The sticking point was the below-average service. Although there were many employees in the restaurant, they were unable to translate their presence into service. Everything took forever: until we could order (we had made a reservation), until the drinks came and later the food came. Unfortunately, some of it had already cooled down (still nice to look at), otherwise it would definitely have potential. The wine... wasn't to my taste, but I don't blame the restaurant for that. I don't want to give more than two stars, even if I see that Suhag is trying to have bad reviews removed with the help of a lawyer (as of April 19, 2024: 3.9 stars out of 1075 reviews). As proof of my "presence" there, I'm also uploading photos of the menu - in the hope that my review will then be allowed to remain. Actually, places that try to have bad reviews deleted should get zero stars. It would be more productive to address the criticism. I wonder why you even run a restaurant with Suhag if you don't feel like it. The service staff could at least be trained in service... more than one person has complained about that. But a lawyer seems to be cheaper than training for the service.

The food originally received a medium rating (3 stars). Now, instead of taking its customers' reviews seriously, the restaurant is trying to delete the negative reviews. Accordingly, we have to reduce our rating to one star. That is not possible. I wish you good food, no "sweeping under the table"!

Average Indian with mediocre service and cold ambience. The outdated website still said it was open Saturday and Sunday. This is now 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. all week long. On Sunday evening the restaurant was almost empty. At the assigned table, the upholstery of all the chairs was more like hammocks. They definitely need to be processed. It was also drafty and very cold. Even though there was nothing going on, it still took a while to get noticed. We had 2 thalis (vegetarian €22/house thali with meat €24) which tasted good, were filling, but were nothing special. Somewhere else you get a little something on the house in advance as a starter (in the evening), but not here. Mango lassi 6€ 0.4l was also ok, but expensive. Since we were traveling with a Be-My-Munich voucher book, the price was reasonable (€17 saved in total). Otherwise, you might want to try the cheaper lunch menus, the Sunday lunch buffet or the inner courtyard in summer. Conclusion: nothing special. There are more comfortable and better Indians in Munich. [Addendum: the operator of the restaurant is trying to force a retraction not only of my submitted review, but also through legal means, based on the fact that I allegedly did not visit the restaurant. Since I am not alone in my opinion and I only described what actually happened to us, the operator should really think about rethinking his behavior and better invest the money in training his service staff! If the food hadn't been okay, I would have given it less than 3 stars.]

Absolute disaster. Garlic Nan ordered 2 portions. Received 2 flatbreads. These were burnt and like rubber. Ordered 2x butter chicken and the portions were ridiculous. Not even a child would get enough of it. 3 pieces of chicken in the entire dish 2/3 rice (cheap basmati) to stuff the stomach. 1 unidentifiable piece found in food disgusting. When we asked, we were insulted and lied to several times. Had to drive into the store to get the supposedly canceled order cancelled. Just ridiculous.

I tried "Too Good to Go" from here & the taste of the food was really good. Folks at the counter are friendly & kind while I was waiting to pick up my order. I'll probably go back there again soon to dine-in.

We had very delicious dinner at this restaurant. I had dish Nr 138, medium spicy, very special, perfectly spicy. Paneer Naan was absolutely out of this world! Service was kind and attentive. We will come back!

We ate there on a Saturday. Unfortunately it was very, very loud. An event with around 150 Indian women who celebrated and did karaoke. The food was modest, didn't taste like anything and I wasn't full either.

Absolute impudence. You pay €19.90 (Chicken Sabzi) for a main course and get 3.5 pieces of chicken (size approx. 1 or 2 euro coin)!!! There were also about 5-6 small pieces of vegetables in there! And about 2/3 of the meal was rice. Rice was good. But the chicken sauce was also totally watery. Worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to anywhere in the world. It's better to eat for less money at Goa, Sandhu, Maharani, Ganga etc. and really get full.

Hauptgericht Chicken Masala war echt gut. Gemischte Vorspeise war okay. Bedienung konnte kein Deutsch und nur ganz wenig Englisch. Hat 3 Anläufe gebraucht bis ich das richtige Getränk hatte. Viel Wartezeit obwohl absolut nix los war. Toiletten unten im Labyrinthkeller, dazu hat nur die Hälfte funktioniert.

The Suhag restaurant really disappointed me. I placed an order and even though the delivery time was 20-45 minutes according to Lieferando, I still haven't received anything after an hour. Then when I called to inquire, I was told by the boss that I should just come over to pick up my order. After I made it clear that I had ordered for delivery and wanted my order, they simply hung up on me. Only after I canceled the order did I receive an email from Lieferando that my order was now being prepared. I have never experienced such disrespectful behavior! The restaurant is absolutely not recommended and it's no wonder no one eats there. Maybe you should ask yourself how this store even survives. These are just theories of mine, but this incident really made me angry.

Today, 1st of January, I had the stupid idea to make an order from this restaurant. At the start it was all ok , but after 1 hour i had to call them to know somenthing about the delivery. They told me that they will check my order , but before they wanted my name and a deutch number. I waited but after another 10 minute, i had to ask at the receptionist of My Hotel to speak in deutch and let me know about the delivery and if they can let me have back my money. They said that the delivery guy had an accident, poor boy. The food isn’t arrived. In conclusion hope that they will give me back the money and never order from this restaurant again. Per italiani non ordinare da questo ristorante perché non arriva. In deutch ⬇️ Heute, am 1. Januar, hatte ich die blöde Idee, bei diesem Restaurant eine Bestellung aufzugeben. Am Anfang war alles in Ordnung, aber nach einer Stunde musste ich sie anrufen, um etwas über die Lieferung zu erfahren. Sie sagten mir, dass sie meine Bestellung überprüfen würden, aber vorher wollten sie meinen Namen und eine deutsche Nummer. Ich wartete, aber nach weiteren 10 Minuten musste ich an der Rezeption von My Hotel nachfragen, ob sie auf Englisch vorbeikommen und mir Bescheid geben könne, ob die Lieferung erfolgt sei und ob sie mir mein Geld zurückerhalten könnten. Sie sagten, dass der Lieferbote einen Unfall hatte, der arme Junge. Das Essen ist nicht angekommen. Abschließend hoffe ich, dass sie mir das Geld zurückgeben und nie wieder bei diesem Restaurant bestellen.

Gutes Essen, viel zu kalt im Gastraum, halbe Stunde gewartet bis Getränke und Essen kamen, keine weitere Nachfrage und Karte bzgl Nachtisch und getrennt zahlen muss man selbst ausrechnen und mit Karte zahlen geht nur direkt am Tresen, schade.

wir waren 16 Personen dort danach die hälfte mit Bauchschmerzen, Durchfall und Kotzeritis und Übelkeit. Der Kellner war unmöglich, hat uns genötigt englisch zu sprechen obwohl er deutsch konnte und einige von uns kein Englisch können. Nach ca 1 Stunde, bei Hitze 36 Crad, kamen die Getränke. Obwohl auf der Karte nicht drauf stand dass mein Gericht scharf ist, war es scharf und hatte Koriander drauf. Mag kein Koriander und das stand nicht drauf. Der Gartenbereich stinkt übelst nach Müll und das Ambiente drinnen war auch nicht sehr spektakulär. Würde da nieeeeee mehr hin gehen. Gar nicht zu empfehlen. Frage mich wie so ein Restaurant überleben kann und noch 4 Sterne hat....

Die Gerichte "Akbar Thali" und "Mixed Tandoori Platte" waren sehr lecker, würzig, schön angerichtet und perfekt zum Teilen. Durch die vielen verschiedenen Gerichte und die unterschiedlichen Fleisch-/Fischsorten ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Sehr empfehlenswert. Die Portionen waren riesig und das Essen wurde heiß serviert. Wir hatten sogar das Glück, eine indische Tanzvorführung live zu erleben. Talentierte Tänzerinnen in wunderschönen Saris zu angenehmer (nicht zu lauter) indischer Musik. Es war eine unglaublich faszinierende Begleitung zum leckeren Essen. Alles in allem ein sehr authentisches indisches Restaurant mit schöner traditioneller Einrichtung und aufmerksamer, freundlicher Bedienung.

Suhag is one of the best restaurants that I have been to in Munich. The food is close to authentic Indian food and the service is really well managed. Justin, who was handling the service was really helpful making the whole experience pleasant!

Bedienung war sehr freundlich und tierlieb. Am Nebentisch wurde dem Hund Wasser angeboten. Mango Lassi und Naan waren sehr gut. Vom Hauptgericht Chicken Korma war ich allerdings leider ziemlich enttäuscht. Insgesamt aber ein netter Abend.

Wir hatten das Restaurant über NeoTaste gefunden und ich muss sagen, wir fanden, dass es der beste Inder in München war, bei dem wir bisher gegessen haben. Das Abendessen (Butter Chicken und Paneer Butter Masala) war sehr sehr gut und auch ohne den Rabatt fair bepreist. Die Bedienung war nett, aber teilweise etwas langsam. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert und wir werden definitiv wieder kommen

Wir haben gerade bei Suhag bestellt und uns liefern lassen. Es dauerte eine Weile (~1h), aber der Geschmack macht alles wett. Es war wirklich köstlich! Wir hatten Chicken Garlic, Chicken Tikka Marsala, Garlic Naan und 3 leckere Dips. Die Portionen waren reichlich und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis absolut ok. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort essen bzw. bestellen.
