The location is super nice and the fact that dogs are welcome here was a reason for us to stop by. However, that's all! The service is totally overwhelmed, the food doesn't really taste good and therefore the price-performance ratio is negative. It also felt like there were more flies in there than guests! It's a shame, a sensible concept could lead to great sales here.

We were there with our Lucy and after a short time a young lady came and brought a bowl of water and there was a free bag of treats. We have never experienced this anywhere before. The prices are not cheap, but normal and I had a portion of fries (homemade) that I could barely manage on my own. All in all 5 stars

After visiting the beach we ate some fries here. You had a great view of the beach here. Fries were also very tasty

I can't say anything about the food, we just had something to drink there. But the staff is very nice. Here you can relax and have a good time. Dogs are also very welcome, especially in the outdoor area. There are several clean water bowls available for the dogs, and you can even buy special dog snacks for your four-legged friend

If I order an East Frisian tea in East Frisia because it is offered on the menu, then I do NOT expect the following: - warm water from the coffee machine - Sugar from the portion sachet - Cream only on request Half a dozen employees are scurrying around the terrace, but there is only self service. For us it is literally a unique experience

Nice service, was at the Knock on Sunday morning and went for lunch there, as it was very warm I went to the restaurant. The service was very friendly and all employees were very quick. The food was very good, the price/performance ratio was perfectly fine. I enjoyed my "THIELE" tea and the wonderful view. I'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, the restaurant makes a deterring impression :( have been there several times now and have had the same experience each time: unfriendly staff - poor organization - equipment keeps disappearing - long waiting times despite the service concept itself. It's a shame that could certainly be better.

The seating is really great, unfortunately there is no waitress outside to take the order... Standing up and ordering inside means taking up space... So definitely not single-friendly...

Highly recommended. New operator. Ambiance is inviting, inside and out. Competent service, great breakfast. We still got something even though the kitchen was cooking at full speed for an event. Events are a main service there. Go and enjoy it.

Pleasantly surprised, great friendly service fulfilled all wishes. You can only praise the staff once. We'd love to come back. After 2 years we were pleasantly surprised yesterday. Good food, fast attentive service and a changed ambience outside. We'd love to come back.

What stupid opening times, a shame for such a beautiful place

There is NOTHING to eat here at 1pm (except cake)… A large company is sitting inside eating. Have you forgotten that day guests also come? Unfortunately, the nearest restaurant that offers lunch is in Emden. Very annoying.

Unfortunately the visit was a disappointment. The conditions are unfriendly and we were made to feel unwelcome. I didn't know the concept and asked about it and was really shouted at by the staff. The lady at the back in service when picking up is totally unfriendly. I will not recommend the restaurant. Although the food was okay, the staff drags the experience down. It's a shame, we go on bike tours regularly and I don't know whether restaurants can afford to lose potential regular customers these days. This place seems to be able to do that.

We wanted to have a drink on a bike ride. The view from the bike path immediately appealed to us - then fate took its course. The terrace sale is a complete disaster. Forever long line and The listless girl at the counter shouldn't be doing that. The main thing is to look on your cell phone. Very unfortunate Location great - drinks were good. A different concept would certainly generate much more sales. Wouldn't come back

We visited the restaurant in the transition period between the breakfast buffet and the lunch menu, but that wasn't a problem for the nice young man who served us. The restaurant is bright, modern and cozy and you can also watch the surfers and boats go by during Schietwettter, as it is called here. The food was delicious. 😋

Das Restaurant Strandlust am Emder Knock liebt an exponierter Lage, mit unverschämt hohen Preisen. 2 Pott Kaffee zu 3 Viertel gefüllt und 2 kleine Stück Kuchen 19 Euro 10 cent. Diese Art von absolutem Nepp muss wohl sein, wenn man an nur 2 Wochentagen zum Millionär werden will. Eine Unverschämtheit die seinesgleichen sucht.

Nice restaurant, great environment to relax. What's not so great is that you have to queue up to order and you don't notice it straight away, but instead you get a device that vibrates when the order is ready for collection.

Despite the beautiful weather and the busy beach, the location was closed.

Super nice place on the Knock...you can sit comfortably outside as well as inside. Of course, in sunny weather it's totally overcrowded and it's hard to get a table or beach chair. When we were there we were lucky and got a table, but without an umbrella... The ice cream was so-so and the cream came from the dispenser. The strawberry cake was delicious. All in all very nice there and worth a visit!

Beautiful view. The taste of the cake and coffee is okay, but the size of the piece doesn't match the price at all. Order at the window and come back with buzzer for pickup. 2 small pieces of cake, 1x cappuccino and 1x Lelet Wild Berry 19 euros. And then the half-full cappuccino is cleared away because you're looking at the sea. That's better!

Unfortunately, yesterday we were more than disappointed with this actually very beautiful location. How can it be that guests cannot be provided with food due to a school graduation party? This date certainly wasn't set yesterday, so the operator could have provided more staff. After just one drink (a cola, 0.2l) for a sporty €2.80, we left without having achieved anything, our stomachs still growling. The ambience is very nice, various seating options.

Incredibly unfriendly staff, who yelled at my boy because he wanted to use the toilet again at 6 p.m. There was cleaning going on here and we just didn't keep track of the time. It could have been communicated in a friendly manner that it was already "closed", even though both doors were still open........ I was here for the last time! To answer your question, I would like to write that a glass of Fanta and a cup of coffee are not even remotely worth being charged for....... Unnecessary question!

Unfortunately, this restaurant is only open Friday to Sunday. When it is open, nothing wrong with it, beautiful view over the water, beautiful stretch of beach. But now with nice weather and closed, this is a miss. Lots of people on the beach and you can't even buy an ice cream there. But the lack of toilets is also not a good thing. This area is also good for cycling. Historic villages in the area.

Just great here. Not overcrowded here. The food is delicious, but the drinks (coke, etc.) are only sold here in 0.2 liters and are not cheap. It's better to bring something yourself.

We spent another wonderful Saturday at Strandlust 🙂 and we started the day with a perfect breakfast in the sunshine 🌞 on the outside terrace. Breakfast as a buffet, everything was very plentiful...from fish...scrambled eggs...bread...rolls.cheese...bacon...small Nuremberg sausages...small pastries... ..muesli....fresh fruit.....and yoghurt....fruit stalates....various. Juice.... All inclusive 🙂🙂🙂 for 17.90 per person COFFEE & TEA ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE You have the option of a thermos of coffee ☕️ Or order a pot of tea 🤗 We'd love to come back Kind regards to the nice staff

We didn't feel comfortable or welcome here. After we looked for a place, we were initially ignored. The staff served the tables directly next to us and completely ignored us. When a waitress came to our table after a long time, we were not greeted but just stared at until we asked for the menu ourselves. After we didn't really like the menu, we left again.

Beach lust turned into beach frustration... We discovered the restaurant via maps and wanted to spend a nice afternoon. So if you want to get your drinks quickly, it's better to order via the terrace window in the self-service area. Because of the strong sun, we took a seat in the restaurant. The restaurant was relatively empty inside. The waiter was at the next table a few times, bringing orders and clearing dishes, but we were ignored. Shortly before we wanted to get up, we were brought the card. The question as to whether we would like to order drinks was also not answered. The cards were simply laid down and the gentleman was gone again. Then it was time to wait again. In the meantime we were able to look "nicely" out of the panoramic window. Admire the graveyard of flies on all the window sills and the spider webs. In general the place looks nice, but cleaning is probably overrated. Since the waiter then went to a table where the ladies had just sat down to take an order and then disappeared back towards the counter, we went to the terrace in the self-service area to get drinks. That worked quickly. However, the young girls ran around on the terrace very haphazardly to bring the guests the food they had ordered, but they never knew where to put the food and went back to the restaurant. When cleaning the table, the ashtrays were cleaned very listlessly. Unfortunately that was the first and last visit. Everything seems very disorganized and chaotic, and possibly poorly trained employees. A pity...

The food was really just average, the waiters were very friendly, but you have to get the drinks yourself. The devices constantly beep to let you know that the drinks are ready and can be picked up. Price/performance doesn't fit. But the toilets were clean.

It's not easy to describe this. We were there on Saturday for breakfast. 3 people wanted tea, there was only a small amount. The waiter said that jugs for two people would then be refilled. OK. The pot was so small that it only held 5 cups. Then they just poured water on it. You couldn't drink anymore. Everything else was perfect but just way too much and duplicate. E.g. scrambled and boiled eggs, bratwurst and meatballs. A large sausage and cheese plate. beautifully prepared with Fruit, olives and salad very nicely decorated. Then meat salad, salmon and herring and so much antipasti. Tomato mozzarella, tomatoes with sheep's cheese. Everything was super tasty. But who is going to eat all that? The price was exclusive of hot drinks. The price really shocked us. Since we ordered 2 cups of coffee because of the limited ☕️ tea, it turned out that orange juice was included in the price. But we didn't get it. At the very end he also arrived with pudding. 10.50 euros for a mini pot of tea that's crazy and then only 1 bag of water. No new bag when refilling. That is not how it works. So something is going wrong!!!

Wir hatten für 3 Personen Frühstück bestellt an einem Samstag. Hatte im Internet geschaut....pro Person 17.90 ohne Heißgetränke. Okay wir haben Tee bestellt, es waren aber nur 2 Pers Kannen zur Verfügung. Aber meinte der Kellner die Kanne wird dann nach gefüllt..Gut , es kam Tee für 2 Pers. In einer Minikanne. Das waren nicht mal 2 Tassen für jeden. Beim auffüllen kein neuer Beutel einfach Heiß Wasser drauf. Konnte man nicht nehr trinken. Das andere war alles sehr reichlich für meine Begriffe viel zu viel. Alles lecker und hochwertig,toll dekoriert, aber einfach zu viel. O-Saft war im Preis mit drin haben wir aber nicht bekommen,erst als wir noch zwei Kaffee bestellt haben und meine Mutter O- Saft kam der Kellner und meinte der O-Saft ist im Preis mit drin.Es gab gekochte Eier und zusätzlich auch noch Rührei. Sehr viel Lachs und Matjes, Fleischsalat , eine riesen Wurst und Käseplatte,Tomate Mozzarella Tomate mit Schafskäse, Antipasti, Obstsalat, und Pudding. Brötchen und noch ein Körbchen voller Croissants Zimtschnecken, Rosinenbrot und Schwarzbrot. Oh ja Bratwurst und Frikadellen hab ich noch vergessen. Hallo wer soll das alles essen. Das ist der Wahnsinn und dann die Rechnung 3 x Frühstück 75 Euro. Auch Wahnsinn und über die Hälfte ging zurück.Die kleine Teekanne hat 10,50 Euro gekostet mit 1 Beutel Tee. Ein Becher Crema 5,40 Euro. Das muss man nicht noch einmal haben. Eine Quittung haben wir auch nicht bekommen. Also über diesen Preis waren wir entsetzt.

We have been here for breakfast three times since the opening date in April 2024. There is a large breakfast buffet on Sundays and a table buffet on Fridays and Saturdays, which I liked even better. The only drawback: it is only open on weekends and public holidays.

I was actually attracted by the picture of Lapskaus - but after the change of operator, the food on offer also changed, only the (outdated) pictures still trigger the Google search and the questions for the review. But that doesn't matter: what we were served was excellent. The fries would even be in my all-time top three if they hadn't been so heavily salted (you can add a lack of salt, but too much is just too much), and the (German) cheesecake was excellent. What was strange was that the Frisian cocoa wasn't possible ("machine broken"), but cappuccino wasn't a problem? (For me it would be the same device for heating/frothing milk).

We just had something to drink. Everything was full of dog owners Wau Wau 🐕

Here you can only give 5 stars. We were here once on Sunday for the breakfast buffet, there was everything your heart could desire. And once in the evening with Tabas, matjes with baked potatoes and fries with chess sauce. Everything tasted delicious, plus the friendly staff and everything sitting in a beach chair with a fantastic view. It doesn't get any better.

Great location with a great view and somewhat limited service. If you expect a full-fledged restaurant with service, you'll probably be a little disappointed, but I highly recommend it as a destination for motorcyclists. Service was absolutely friendly and the food was delicious.

If you take space inside, the service works as long as the staff agrees on who will take on which tasks. In any case, the cake is very good 👏 and the prices are reasonable.

Finally beach fun again. New operator, nice staff, short waiting times and delicious tea with cake. The sea buckthorn cake was a culinary delight. Therefore full marks. The ambience can certainly be improved, but the Strandlust team can't help it that the surrounding area hasn't been developed for decades...

The Strandlust restaurant is located above the dike on the Knock and has a good view over the Ems. The restaurant is run by Haase from Emden. The rooms are large and very bright. The food here was excellent.😃👌 We had Strammer Max and foil potatoes, I was very enthusiastic about them, see pictures. 😋👍 Of course there is also coffee and cake here. ☕️ 🍰 The staff here is nice and friendly. Opening hours are only on weekends! I can only recommend Standlust.

We had breakfast there as a group and it was great. Scrambled eggs with bacon, rolls, cheese, cold cuts, fruit, vegetables, pancakes and other little things are plentiful. Jam and honey in plastic pots, I think it would be nicer in a glass, but it's more practical that way. Attentive waiters, friendly and quick. Coffee in thermoses. Was really good! We even got some fruit salad. The price was reasonable for that. And it was cozy, with a great view. Gladly again! Thank you!

We had breakfast at Strandlust on Sunday. After the registration email, we received a call from a friendly employee asking where we wanted to sit. On Sunday a great, rich breakfast buffet with a view of the Dollart. Great products, friendly and attentive staff,… We felt very comfortable

Until last year it was just perfect. Nice service, friendly, great food. Now order a strange concept yourself, get drinks with a beeper and food will be brought. The waitress is completely overwhelmed with empty trays. People still roll their eyes when older people ask a question. I don't have to go there anymore unless I want to go for a walk. And you can also bring your own bottle to drink.

A place to relax and unwind. We were there three times at the weekend - a wonderful place with a view of the beach and sea. The prices of the drinks were reasonable and by no means overpriced. (E.g. Aperol spritz = €7.50; spritzer €2.90) Extended self-service is offered; means you order and pay at a cash register, stating the table number; You get a buzzer and when it buzzes you can pick up the order. Works wonderfully.

We cannot understand other people's reviews. Thanks to Google Maps or the homepage, you know in advance what it looks like. It may have once actually been a canteen or a transformer house - but it has been beautifully converted and is very nice inside and out. If you look at the water, you can see industry on the other bank 2 or 3 km away... that's just the way it is - it doesn't matter. Food is good, beach chairs are very nice, as are the toilets. Also the staff was friendly and it was really busy. Because of the size of the area and the number of tables inside, you can order yourself and remember your table number. must remember - not an issue. In addition to the card via QR code, there are also hardcopy menu cards. Presumably the people who don't like the atmosphere are the ones who arrive in the 6-cylinder and then complain about pipelines and fossil fuel industries in sight. We would always come back! :-)

Impossible ordering concept, table selection complicated, the waiter actually has to know the table numbers and be able to help you. But the fries were tasty, but they can't make up for the others. Unfortunately, Bitter Lemon is not from Schweppes

We were there spontaneously today. The service was very good, friendly and on the ball. The portions were large and very tasty. The price/performance ratio is also absolutely recommended. If we are in the area again, we would be happy to go there again.

Friendly service, very customer oriented. Food and drinks were delicious, the price was right and the location with a view of the water was great!

The restaurant is located on the Rhysum Neck. There are enough parking spaces at the house. We only had cake and latte macchiato. The cake was good, the drink too. I find the atmosphere uninviting. It was clean but not comfortable. The view of the Ems is good, however. The service was friendly. Just placing the order at the entrance door while standing was unfortunate.

Unfortunately a big disappointment. I had expected more from the location - the prospect of industrial facilities is not particularly attractive. Worse still is the very poor and unfriendly service. You really don't have to have that.

The cake and the waffles were delicious, we had a place on the terrace where unfortunately there was only self-service. The service in the cafe was nice and friendly.
