Restaurant Sonnenhof in Kressbronn am Bodensee

We were completely satisfied, allowing us to enjoy rest and relaxation from the very first minute. A big thank you to the staff.

We’re staying at the hotel, and due to the approaching storms, we decided to dine at the restaurant… so glad we did. It was very good! Service was decent, lulled at times as the place got busier. We enjoyed the bird’s eye view of the storms rolling in across the lake! The house bread and “butter” (cream cheese and curry) was very good. We sipped a Negroni and Limoncello Spritz while we enjoyed the bread. We started with the celery soup and a house salad… both delicious, although the salad was a bit over-loaded with dressing. For entrees, we shared the lamb rump (yes, rump!) and onion beef. The lamb was sparse, but the beef plentiful. The sides on each plate were great! Good gravy on the beef and spaetzle! We shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio from a local vineyard. Very rocky soil, very mineral wine. It was good! Dessert found us enjoying scoops of ice cream… chocolate, pistachio, coconut and walnut. All were good, although the walnut scoop had a distinct artificial flavor component. A good meal in incredible surroundings. A beautiful hotel, and the restaurant captured that essence. We’d dine again! We also had the AM breakfasts at the restaurant, which were terrific! Breakfasts were beautiful mornings dining lion the patio! Breakfasts included many fresh hot items, eggs, sausages, bacon, cereals, meat, cheeses, veggies, and awesome coffees. The pastry selection was as delicious as it was impressive! No way to leave hungry! A great way to start any day! ☺️ Edited to 5-stars for this hotel restaurant! Exceptional all the way around. Quite a find in the countryside of Germany. We’d definitely go back, and highly recommend Restaurant Sonnenhof!

A pleasant place with a beautiful view of Lake Constance, and the food was also very delicious. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter who showed us to our table was extremely rude and not at all friendly. It was a perfectly normal Wednesday, a weekday, and the restaurant was almost empty, with no more than three tables occupied. Nevertheless, the waiter was extremely rude and told us – without any kindness or professionalism – that although he would give us a table now, we would definitely have to make a reservation next time. In short: Good food and a beautiful view – but if the service doesn't improve, none of that is of any use. You come to a restaurant in a good mood, perhaps wanting to celebrate a personal moment, and you're treated like that the moment you walk in?! Honestly, I felt like turning around – but I stayed because I was hungry.

We were served friendly and enjoyed a very good dinner. It wasn't that crowded but it still took a while. On the table came carpaccio, sea bream, schnitzel, pots of strudel and an espresso to finish - everything was excellently prepared and beautifully presented.

Great location above Lake Constance. The restaurant has cozy decor and very friendly staff. The side salad was absolutely delicious...but the rump steak was unfortunately only lukewarm and barely seasoned. The onion crust had a strange, sweet taste. The beer sauce with the spaetzle was also bland. It lacked any culinary refinement. Not recommended.

Wir haben kurzfristig noch Platz für zwei bekommen. Der Service war super und das 3 Gang-Menü zu einem gute Preis auch lecker.

The food is upscale and of truly excellent quality: The tuna steak was cooked to perfection, the salad was made with fresh ingredients and a delicate dressing – the ingredient composition was also very harmonious. The kids had Wiener schnitzel with potato wedges, and everything was delicious, as was the appetizer: bread with various dips and olive oil – high praise for the high-quality and excellent olive oil! The ambiance captivates with an unbeatable view of Lake Constance. We were able to enjoy our meal at sunset; it couldn't be better. The service unfortunately left a lot to be desired, at least from our server: It was hardly busy, but it still took 10 minutes for the dirty dishes to be cleared away. The empty plates and unused glasses were only cleared away after repeated requests. To get to the dishes, the waiter reached across the entire table. When we asked for the menu to choose dessert, the waiter came after 5 minutes (without a menu) to take our dessert order. In summary: inattentive, mediocrely friendly, and not professional. In our defense: The other waiter, who unfortunately didn't serve us, seemed better. We had considered spending our next Lake Constance vacation at the Sonnenhof, but now we're unsure: what if the rest of the service is the same?

Good restaurant, simple but good.

We ate there four times, and the food was delicious every time. The staff is very friendly and personable, and the view of Lake Constance is beautiful.

I can highly recommend the Sonnenhof restaurant. I ate very well and was served courteously. Even though I ordered a small portion, I got enough. I found the price reasonable.

Wir waren in dem Hotel und da wir am Abend nicht mehr raus wollten nach dem Wellness haben wir uns spontan entschieden im Resti zu Essen. Dies war eine gute Entscheidung. Auch spontan hatten wir Platz. Das Essen war lecker. Abgerundet wurde unser Abend durch ein freundliches Personal und einen leckeren Wein. Alles zu einem fairen Preis

Went to celebrate my grandmother's birthday and we all loved the food! Gladly again at any time :)

We were there for 1 week. Room was really great. Unfortunately, dinner didn't really work out. Filet from Lake Constance Whitefish was tattered, Kaiserschmarren was completely fried and more like a Rösti and that was the case with both meals. The waiter's reaction was rather uninterested. No reaction from the kitchen Very, very sad for the house Dear team I'm sorry then you don't know your menu.

Excellent restaurant. Une carte variée pour tous goûts. Des mets bien préparés, poissons parfaitement cuits, légumes de saison savoureux et unz carte des vins très correcte.

A wonderful evening atmosphere over autumnal Lake Constance formed the backdrop. We were pleased with the very attentive, humorous and competent service with good advice on food and wine choices. All of our starters and main courses were excellent - in terms of taste and appearance. We found the price-performance ratio to be commendable, especially if you have had experience with other locations in a preferred location.

The ambience with a view of Lake Constance is beautiful and the waiters were nice too. The food was also delicious.

Leider bin ich mehr als enttäuscht.. Schon beim Empfang konnte unsere Reservierung die wir bereits eine Woche vorher getätigt haben nicht gefunden werden. Als wir dann netterweise einen Tisch zugewiesen bekommen haben wurden wir ganze 25 Minuten von 4 Kellnern die mehrmals an unserem Tisch vorbei gelaufen sind ignoriert. Wir haben weder eine Speisekarte noch ein Getränk erhalten. Als wir nach 30 Minuten das erste mal von einem Kellner registriert wurden der versprochen hatte uns gleich zu bedienen, haben wir noch weitere 10 Minuten gewartet bevor wir uns dann entschieden haben das Restaurant zu verlassen. Schade, dass mit den Gästen umgegangen wird. Dies wird leider der erste und letzte Eindruck für uns vom Sonnenhof bleiben.

Spitzen essen, spitzen Service, spitzen Ambiente. Jeden Cent Wert!

Natürlich war auch das perfekte Terassenwetter und das Glück, noch einen Tisch in erster Reihe zu bekommen (Reservierung -- sinnvollerweise -- nicht möglich), am tollen Gesamteindruck beteiligt. Aber Aperitiv und Essen, nicht zuletzt auch die sehr freundliche Bedienung, waren natürlich die Hauptsache dabei. Hoffentlich können wir bald mal wieder vorbeikommen.

Sehr gutes Essen und regionaler Wein. Service nett und aufmerksam. Ich hatte eine Forelle, die so frisch und gut war! Empfehlenswert!

Wir waren zweimal zum Abendessen dort. Beim ersten Mal sehr guter Service und tolles Essen. Beim zweiten Mal guter Service, aber die Bratkartoffel mit dem Wiener Schnitzel fettig wie in einer Trucker Kneipe! Zur Entschuldigung gab es einen von mir ausgewählten hervorragenden Kirsch Brand. Bekommen hab ich wohl einen Schnaps aus der Flasche für Meckerer!

Sehr leckeres Restaurant ! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, meiner Frau und mir hat es an nichts gefehlt ! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Vielen Dank an das ganze Team :)

wir hatten einen Tisch auf der Terrasse reserviert. Als wir ankamen gab es keine Reservierung und wurde mit, „da haben sie an der Rezeption mal wieder nichts weitergegeben“ abgetan. Keine Entschuldigung, nix. Wir haben dann trotzdem einen Tisch bekommen. Service auch auf der Terrasse war max mittelmässig. Kellner war absolut überfordert. Mehrere Gäste sassen sehr lange an ihren Tischen, ohne überhaupt eine Menuekarte zu bekommen. Beim Nachgiessen des Weins (der nicht am Tisch stand) musste man dreimal den Kellner bitten nach zu schenken. Die Qualität vom Essen war sehr gut, aber in dieser Preiskategorie muss der Service besser sein, wenn man das Restaurant nicht nur für Tagungsgäste nutzen will

Abendessen: Sehr gut zubereitetes, gut-bürgerliches Essen mit Finesse, aber ohne unnötigen Schnickschnack. Frühstück für Hotelgäste: Ausgezeichnet und auf 5-Sterne-Niveau. Freundlicher Service, angenehmes Ambiente und tolle Aussicht.

Wir waren hier zum Abendessen. Die Karte bietet eine gute Auswahl an regionalen und internationalen Gerichten an. Der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Beide Vor- und Hauptspeisen waren geschmacklich gut und auch reichhaltig.

Wir hatten en einem Montagabend für 19:30 Uhr einen Tisch reserviert und bekamen einen Tisch auf der Terrasse in der ersten Reihe. Der Ausblick ist traumhaft, der leichte Güllegeruch von den Wiesen unter der Terrasse ist wohl Lokalkolorit. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir bestellten Schwabentopf und Zwiebelrostbraten. Sowohl Fleisch als auch Gemüse waren auf den Punkt gegart und schmeckten gut. Irritiert haben uns die sehr hohen Preise für die offenen Weine. Wenn man für 0,2 Ltr. 11 bis 12 Euro verlangt, dann spielt man in einer Liga, zu der dann aber auch Stoffservietten und Tischwäsche gehören. Zu Papierservietten passen diese Preise nicht.

Ein Wellnesshotel, das mit seiner guten Küche wirbt, sollte vielleicht dann auch tatsächlich liefern. Zunächst ist der Service korrekt und im Normalmass zügig. Wenn man vom Ikeacharme einiger Einrichtungsgegenstände absieht, ist der Gastraum hell und funktional, für Gemütlichkeit aber zu eng bestuhlt. Die Karte liest sich gut, vom kulinarischen Verständnis her graust es mich als Gast wenn man Spargel und Radieschen als Salat mischt... das Entrecote als medium-rare bestellt kam gar, die 'frische' Pasta war zu gleichen Teilen matschig und zu bissfest, der Morchelrahm heterogen mehlig-klumpig. Das Angebot einer anderen Portion habe ich dankend abgelehnt. Der Blick von der Terrasse ist traumhaft, aber macht die dürftige Küchenleistung kaum wett. Ein einmaliges Erlebnis... eben: nur ein Mal.

De passage dans cet hotel nous avons testé le restaurant qui est bien noté. Le décor est beau et très moderne et contemporain mais nous avons été servis de plats plutôt corrects mais beaucoup trop salés (4 plats)

Nettes lokal und toller Blick über den See Das Preisniveau ist sehr gehoben. Freundliches Personal. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt leider nicht. Das Essen war in Ordnung, aber keinen Falls überragend.

Nach unserem Aufenthalt im Oktober 2017 im Bodensee-Hotel Sonnenhof, haben wir das Restaurant weitere Male besucht. Unseren feierlichen Besuch zu zweit im Januar 2019 nahmen wir zum Anlass, erneut das Tagesmenü zu probieren. Um die allgemeine Beschreibung auszulassen, habe ich euch Fotos beigefügt. Was ich aber schreiben möchte ist, dass es HERVORRAGEND geschmeckt hat. Es war toll, abgestimmt und wunderbar aufgebaut. Schön anzusehen und schön zu genießen. Dass das Dessert nicht mein Highlight war, ist subjektiv. Meinem Partner hat es geschmeckt..ich hatte halt schon „moussigere“ Mousses und die Kombi mit der Beete hat mich leider nicht gepackt. Unterstrichen wurde das Abendessen - mal wieder - vom hervorragenden Service von Michaela. Weiterhin kein Schischi, Blabla oder unpersönliche Distanz, sondern humorvoll, entgegenkommend und mega aufmerksam. Danke Michaela und bis bald!

Wir haben das Abendessen im Sonnenhof sehr genossen. Die Athmosphäre ist sehr schön, der Ausblick auf den See atemberaubend und das Essen ist extrem gut. Darüber hinaus ist der Service aufmerksam, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Komme gerne wieder, ist auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung am See.

Wir waren viele Jahre Gäste im Sonnenhof und jedesmal voll des Lobes, was wir dann auch sehr sehr gut bewertet...
