Very good cocktails. An insider tip is the happy hour on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. But only for people of high standards, otherwise please visit the bar next door 😉

Restaurant Schapeau really isn’t a restaurant any more. It’s a bar that serves light snacks, including wraps, desserts, etc. That said, it’s a good place! Isabella was our bartender/waitress, and she was such a delight! She gave us a great recommendation for a spot for dinner nearby as it was raining hard. When we returned to the hotel we stopped in the bar for a nightcap and dessert. The drinks were great… a dessert was good. Service was good too. A nice little bar spot in a nice hot just a few minutes walk from Old Town. Recommend Restaurant Schapeau for a drink and dessert in a warm and inviting atmosphere!

Great ambiance and a truly beautiful place – perfect for a relaxed evening! The drinks were delicious and creative. The bartender deserves special mention: super friendly and attentive. We felt completely at home and would definitely come back!

Der Service in der Hotelbar war außergewöhnlich freundlich und aufmerksam. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der hervorragende Service: Alle Speisen und Getränke wurden mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Auf sämtliche Fragen wurde fachkundig und zuvorkommend reagiert. Die Qualität der verwendeten Produkte war durchweg hervorragend. Die Bar überzeugt zudem durch ihre zentrale Lage .Das Ambiente ist sehr stilvoll und edel eingerichtet, was für eine angenehme Atmosphäre sorgt. Besonders positiv fiel uns der Auszubildende Tingeltangel-Bob auf, der äußerst aufmerksam war, sich große Mühe gab und durch seine höfliche Art einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterließ.

The service in the hotel bar was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent service: all food and drinks were prepared with great attention to detail. All questions were answered professionally and courteously. The quality of the products used was consistently excellent. The bar also impresses with its central location. The ambience is very stylish and elegantly furnished, which creates a pleasant atmosphere. We were particularly impressed by the trainee Tingeltangel-Bob, who was extremely attentive, made a great effort and left a lasting impression with his polite manner. Overall, a thoroughly successful visit – highly recommended!

The ambience is very nice. Unfortunately, the food on offer doesn't live up to the price. The breakfast buffet isn't really any different from the one you'd find in your fridge at home. The lunch buffet features a meat and a vegetable dish. Both should be well-prepared, too. But if the duck is the same color as the tablecloth, then unfortunately the tablecloth wasn't brown, but white. It was also noticeable on the plates being returned. We'd rather skip dessert. Just a quick reminder...I last had canned mandarins as a child, and that was 45 years ago. So, in summary, a nice ambiance, attentive service, but the food still has a lot of room for improvement.

A somewhat hidden place in the city center. Very comfortable to sit in, discreet music and friendly service. Pleasant place for a nice conversation. Unfortunately, the menu is often very limited and the prices are quite high. Addendum: Attention: new, limited opening hours - a shame!

We went there for coffee and cake. It's far too expensive for what it offers. The strudel looked like frozen goods (already pre-cut in plastic wrap), and the hot chocolate was nothing more than milk mixed with cocoa powder. The atmosphere is relatively cheap, but it's dressed up. The service was friendly. But €9.50 for such a bad (possibly) frozen strudel is way too much. I wouldn't recommend it!

Very bad service, the food came late, cold and not together. For these high prices it didn't taste like anything, we definitely won't come again. The best thing about everything was live music.

While we made a dinner reservation on Open Table, when we arrived we were told that the kitchen has been closed for a few years and only the bar is open.

ホテルTobrauの併設レストランです。 ずっとジャズがかかっていてオシャレで静かな本当にいいレストランですが、メインは30ユーロ程度します。ホテル値段ですね。 でも写真の通り綺麗な料理だし、実はビールがとっても安くて500ccで4.5ユーロです。 ホテルの名前が付いたビールTorbrauGoldがミュンヘン名物のホワイトビール(ウィートビール)でとっても美味！

Great jazz brunch. 3 courses in buffet style and all drinks come with it. Very good quality and nice seating. I can recommend!

Das sehr ansprechende Ambiente entspricht bei den Speisen nicht mehr der angebotenen Qualität im Vergleich zu früheren Jahren. Leider ist mit den gestiegenen Preisen nicht das Niveau der Küche einher gegangen. Die Speisekarte und Küche vor drei und mehr Jahren war für dieses schöne Restaurant mit Hotel perfekt im Verhältnis, man sollte tendenziell dazu zurückkehren. Das freundliche Servicepersonal gleicht die Wartezeiten aus. Auf die früheren Zeiten, Schapeau!

Nous sommes allé dans ce restaurant suite au avis émis sur le net ( Les meilleurs restaurants de Munich) Accueil très sympathique. Nous avons donc réservé sur place pour le lendemain soir, et comme il était 16 h, nous avons pris un petit goûter (gâteaux, cappuccino et chocolat chaud ) le tout était exquis, avec un service de grande qualité. Et le lendemain nous sommes venu dîner( le repas était succulent, le service excellent, nous avons passé une merveilleuse soirée. Nous recommandons vivement cette belle adresse.

Staff did not appear to be aware of my booking and table had to be prepared for me. The main course was excellent- well coked and presented. The desert (pear tart with hazelnut sorbet) was disappointing. The tart was served cold and the presentation was very poor.

War zum Cafe da,Kuchenauswahl ist nicht sehr gross. Aber gut, der Service ist freundlich und entgegen komment. Die Einrichtung ist schön.

Gute Cocktails, angenehme Atmosphäre, nette Bedienung

Für einen Betrag von 48€ kann mehr erwarten. es gab keine Weichgekochten Eier, kein Spiegelei. die vier Sorten Wurst waren einfach zu wenig. Ebenso der Käse, nur vier Sorten von der einfachsten Art. Man vermisst z.B. mehrere Salate, eine größere Brot und Semmel Auswahl. Es wäre auch nicht schlecht für mehr Marmelade Auswahl. Einzig posetiv ist das sehr freundliche Personal.

Es war wieder sehr köstlich und der Service einfach 5 Sterne. Danke immer wieder gern

Cadre magnifique pour manger ou boire un verre. Le personnel est très sympathique, certains parlent même français. Nous avons très bien mangé et pour un prix raisonnable !

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und an den Tisch begleitet. Speisekarte war übersichtlich, jedoch gut aufgegliedert und ausreichend. Geschmacklich war alles in Ordnung, Service recht aufmerksam. Störend bei unserem Besuch lediglich der Geruch vom verbranntem Fett im Lokal. Das Restaurant war zu stark beleuchtet, darunter leidet die Atmosphäre.

Лично нас ресторан не впечатлил совсем. Было замечательным сервис и пиво ( как и везде в Германии). Большие куски тортов на десерт, можно разделить на троих. Если хочется просто попить пива в приятной обстановке, то вам сюда, а если покушать, то не рекомендую. Кстати, у себя в салате обнаружил колючку, и то только когда уже начал жевать.

Очень приятный ресторан. Хорошее обслуживание и кофе!

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit angenehmen Ambiente, ruhige Hintergrundmusik, so dass man sich auch unterhalten kann. Vorzügliches Essen und freundliche Bedienung, nur die Speisekarte dürfte etwas umfangreicher sein und auch ein paar niedrigpreisige Speisen im Angebot haben.

I have long been a fan of this place and have written a number of reviews which have had ratings of very good or excellent. The last 2 visits I have noticed a few changes. The service has always been excellent with a team that always were very professional and very friendly, it remains professional but almost no interface with customers during the last 2 visits. The menu has gone through some changes and some of the delicate and very tasty dishes have disappeared. This time around we tried the dry aged burger, (not very German), this was a good sized and well cooked meat patty, perhaps a bit cold in the middle but very expensive at €26 - For me I don’t think that was real value for money. I saw they are offering a tasting menu at €149 per head for 7 courses, this really is expensive even compared to some Michelin starred restaurants. I like this place, it is good for lunch and almost always is not too busy so offers some peace and quiet in the city centre. It is hard to pinpoint the changes over the past few visits but it does not seem as good as it was in terms of food, service and value for money. I will persist

Die beiden Stammkellner geben sich unglaubliche Mühe und unterhalten die Gäste mit ihrem Hauseigenen Charme. Sie gehen auf die Wünsche des Gastes ein, fragen nach Verbesserungen und setzen diese auch beim nächsten Besuch um. Hier kommen wir immer wieder gerne her. Denn hier wird der Gast sehr geschätzt!

Den Restaurantbesuch im Schapeau haben wir sehr genossen. Es stimmte von der kleinsten Kleinigkeit, über den Service bis zum Essen und der Atmosphäre einfach alles über die Maßen. Wir haben noch selten wirklich so exzellent gespeist, es war hervorragend köstlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und selbstverständlich werden wir das Schapeau an Freunde und Bekannte weiterempfehlen.

La salle est très ben décorée dans le style art déco. L'ambiance est feutrée, le service impeccable, effectué par du personnel serviable et souriant. Les plats peu nombreux sont excellents. Les gnocchis sont à tomber... Il faut goûter les profiteroles maison.

Wir wollten eigentlich nur kurz auf einen Drink verweilen und hatten ein ruhiges Ambiente gesucht. Dann fanden wir dieses stilvolle Flair und wirklich kompetente freundliche Bedienungen. Das Essen war ein Genuss.

Cena per due ,la prima sera del nostro soggiorno a Monaco. Lette le recensioni,ci aspettavamo un ristorante con un menù limitato, con piatti curati e di atmosfera. Direi che il menù era limitato, anzi scarno, i due piatti presi, tra i 4 disponibili, discreti, anche se la mia cotoletta risultava particolarmente unta ( fritta nel burro) e il piatto tipico, a base di filetto di carne, preso da mio marito, era sovrastato dal sapore delle cipolle. Ma sicuramente la parte meno attraente era l'ambiente. Un po' anni 80, un po' solo bisognoso di un refresh. Insomma non certo una serata da ricordare.

Schapeau was a great place for a quiet dinner in a elegant atmosphere. The service was superb and the food was outstanding! The veal wiener schnitzel was very tender and the best that I had on our trip. The cranberry sauce and potatoes were delicious. My husband enjoyed the sea bass. The hotel gave us a 10% off coupon to use and we are glad we had dinner at Schapeau!

Great service, but lacked some ambience... Tapas starters were good: recommended. Wine also good.

Waren zu zweit abends dort essen. Der Service ist einfach hervorragend, es ist echt selten, dass die Bedienung so aufmerksam ist. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, aber das Essen schmeckt absolut lecker. Für die gute Lage und der Fakt, dass das Restaurant zu einem Hotel gehört sind die Preise absolut in Ordnung. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis top! Wir waren nicht das letzte Mal im Schapeau.

Very enthusiastic staff and a lovely ambiance Menu changed over the last year to a much more vegetarian friendly one. Next to a road fairly busy at night so expect to hear music/crowds while you eat

My son and I went to dinner here after a long day if walking and tours. Our waitress and waiter were very attentive and helpful with the menu. We sat on the lovely patio, had the fried cheese (camembert) with cranberry compote, vegetable curry and salad with prawns. All were delicious. They let me try a white wine to make sure I liked it (which I did) and provided a very nice sized portion and the cost of the meal was worth it! Everything was perfect.

Everything was excellent, from service to food. And for the high quality food we’d say the prices are very good! I would recommend almost anyone. I’d even bring my company here! Saw they had a beautiful chambre separé downstairs Only took two pic but all was very nice presented. Staff was professional and friendly. And the man playing the piano and singing was very good! This is the place to go!

As part of the Hotel Torbräu there is Schapeau, an upscale restaurant that serves delicious food. While I've had full meals at this restaurant on several occasions, I typically go in sometime in the evening for a wonderful dessert and coffee to finish off the day. And if you stay at the Hotel Torbräu, you will likely be presented with a 10% discount card to be used at Schapeau.

We ate here twice. The first night the asparagus soup and veal was outstanding. I also had the asparagus ice cream with fresh fruit which was excellent as well. Service was excellent

We ate dinner here both because of the reviews and because we are staying at the same Hotel Torbrau. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Atmosphere good, service good except the ice cream took over an hour. Since it is spring, they had several asparagus items, the soup and ice cream being 2 that we delicious and creative. Weiner schnitzel was very good, tender, with Logan berry sauce. Little pricey but strong recommendation.

Das Restaurant Schapeau im Hotel Torbräu ist ein elegantes Restaurant direkt am Isartor. Der Service ist zuvorkommend und sehr höflich. Das Essen ist sehr gut und schmackhaft. The worth place I ever visited. I can’t recommend it.

Profesionist staff, the restaurant was very clean, the table was available due to the reservation. The personal was atent at our request. The Quality of food was very good. The access to the restaurant it is very easy.

Beautifully appointed & offering an excellent German menu, its the restaurant associated with Hotel Torbreau. Try the Venison ragu with potato dumplings or the shoulder of venison with mash & tiny Brussel sprouts.

I really like this place as the food is always excellent and is matched by the service. This visit was not different and both the cod main course as well as the beef were first class. I feel that prices have started to creep up to fine dining levels and whilst the food and service matches this the dining space is a bit too bright and lacks atmosphere.

We found S through TA. It was local to where we were staying. Such a good find. A very good experience. The wait staff were very engaging knowledgeable helpful and comedic. The food offerings were tasty. Not quite wow. The prices were very good. It was also not very crowded. Recommend u go there. A good nite.

We stayed at the Hotel Torbrau which is connected to this restaurant and set here on two of our four night stay. The waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended some nice local wines that we enjoyed. The food was very good too and on both evenings we were given an amuse buche (different on each occasion) in addition to the food we ordered which was a nice bonus.

Traditional German food is not my thing so it was great to find this modern and cosmopolitan restaurant. It offers a broad menu and good wine list. The service was outstanding.

If you are staying at the Hotel Torbrau then Schapeau is the perfect place for a night cap or before dinner drink. Conrad takes care of all of his customers and you will find yourself drifting back each evening to unwind. Our group loved having this quaint spot in the hotel. Wonderful wait staff and reasonable prices with a wide variety of choices.

We ate at the restaurant twice we prepaid through our hotel reservation, there is a set menu that might not be for everyone. We found the food good, but would have preferred to have a couple choices. Would recommend.
