Yes, I can recommend this restaurant. But you should definitely reserve a table in advance. First the table was reserved for 1.5 hours. Due to the busyness of the restaurant and the slight delay in serving the food, we spent two hours here, but it was pleasant. Our group was very satisfied with both the dishes and the service. There was a good selection of different dishes on the menu so that everyone could find something.

Unfortunately, the Praça de Coimbra is not a real Portuguese restaurant and therefore the food only tastes partially Portuguese. The owners are not Portuguese and neither are the staff. Really a shame. The "bolinhos de bacalhau" (cod balls) had far too little cod and the fish stew had nothing to do with Portuguese cuisine.

Well… I expected more. We waited 10 minutes to order and it wasn't busy. The waiters were unfriendly and the food was ok.

Delicious fish skewer, delicious starters with burning prawns and bread with aioli. However, I have to be careful because if I eat too much oil and too much garlic, my stomach will rebel. At the end “sometimes” the delicious port wine helps.

Four of us arrived before the expected 5:30 p.m. rush. The tapas appetizers were okay and nothing special. We ordered the rump steak medium, but it came well done. The salmon was overcooked and quite dry, and the meat skewers seemed to have been slightly pre-grilled and were also very dry. The service was friendly but somewhat lackluster. We'll try a different restaurant next time; there are quite a few...

Unfortunately the food wasn't good. The meat tasted like it had been pre-fried and kept warm, but was very dry. The tagliatelle with salmon tasted like nothing and was floating in water. The vegetarian tapas were okay. You can also hear the music coming from the kitchen, which disturbs the atmosphere. Unfortunately we are very disappointed.

The Most Delicious Calamari I’ve Ever Had! The atmosphere, the music, the friendly staff—everything was just perfect! The calamari was so incredibly tasty that I could see myself traveling to Hamburg a few times a year just for this dish. A must-visit for seafood lovers!

Visited there on the weekend, I had some tapas and it was very tasty. Sangria was great, not too sweet and very refreshing for a sunny day. Staff are really friendly, service was very very quick. I would definitely go back there again.

Friend, quick, good tasty tappas

Well-attended restaurant, but noisy due to the narrow seating. Unfortunately, this is often the case today. We had the grilled squid and the rabbit pot. Both very good and decoratively presented. However, the wines on offer (red, not a house brand) are very different here and are too expensive. However, everything is right when it comes to the food. Great. The staff is friendly, nice and does a good job even during peak times. Thank you.

The food tasted really great, the place had its charm. Unfortunately, none of the many employees showed that they liked guests and enjoyed their job. When entering the restaurant there was an emotionless greeting, and the next waiter also handed the card without a smile. This went on with several waitresses throughout the evening. Our smiles and kind words went unrequited. The dessert was then simply “slid” onto our table without a word. The restaurant has seen us for the last time. Too bad.

Changing in every respect Starters were tasty. Paella Valenciana a bit dry. Romp steak was tasty. Desserts were fine. Service was very variable. Very nice older waiters, and sullen younger ones. Highly recommended, but not the 4.7 that attracted us.

We were looking forward to a great meal in the Portuguese Quarter because of the many good reviews - but unfortunately we were very disappointed. And that on Valentine's Day... The starters were already a failure: the Pimientos de Padrón were partially burnt and the seeds were inedible. The bacon-wrapped dates came with half raw bacon - that's not possible. Then the main courses: My partner had the rump steak with herb butter but it was an absolute disaster. Tough as a shoe sole and taste-wise a disappointment. There was also rice and fries, both of which were completely bland. I had the linguine with salmon - and was speechless (unfortunately not in a good way). No sauce, just dry pasta with a few pieces of salmon, some of which still had bones - just disgusting. And for €18? Absolutely overpriced! Then there was the service: our waiter was completely inattentive and seemed as if he had absolutely no interest in his job. No smile, no friendly gesture, just taking the order without emotion and thus spreading a bad atmosphere. (In case management wants to look at it, it was a younger, slightly heavier employee with a beard and messy hair.) Conclusion: Food extremely disappointing, service poor, price-performance below ground. We're definitely not coming back!

Estábamos de visita desde Berlín y decidimos probar el restaurante, ya que estaba entre los más altos - calificado en la zona en ese momento, según Google. El servicio era tan desagradable y grosero, y la comida era más que sosa. No podría estar más lejos de ser auténtico. Definitivamente no vale la pena los precios que cobran. Hay muchos otros restaurantes para probar y no me fiaría de las reseñas de Google allí. La comida estaba entre 40 – 50 € por persona. Sobreprecio y lamentamos confiar en las críticas de 4 / 5 estrellas.

Been there for the first time and I'm just thrilled. As a starter we had the fish soup and shrimps in garlic, it was incredibly delicious. As a main course, grilled salmon with lemon sauce and a mixed fish platter. It was delicious

We shared a meat dish with rice and potatoes between two, and a Catalan cream for dessert, everything was excellent in quality and quantity. Great service and very nice place in a very good location in Hamburg.

If you're in the mood for real fish or seafood in Hamburg, find the Portuguese quarter. There are of course more places to recommend, but Praca de Coimbra has a unique atmosphere. You just need to reserve a table for a busier evening.

I went to this restaurant with three colleagues. We had a great night there. The food was so good and tasty! The atmosphere was also nice. The only problem that I had was I drank the half of my beer and we went out to smoke and once we came back they took all the drinks away without asking ! That is why I reduced one star because of service but in general it was a good experience there and I recommend it to anyone who wants to try a Portuguese restaurant with delicious food in Hamburg.

We have visited the restaurant for a weekday dinner. Vibe is great and the seafood is surprisingly tasty. We have ordered a seafood boat - a pricy order yet with the taste of the sauce, the generous portion, and the quality of the seafood, the marked price is a good deal 👍🏻 they claim that it’s a portion for 2 people. I personally think that it could easily feed 3-4 people 🥳 highly recommend
