A small, cozy restaurant in Hamburg's Portuguese Quarter. My wife and I visited for the first time today. The interior is a bit dated, but everything is clean and well-maintained. Regarding the food: We had tapas, and I must say, they were delicious. We enjoyed them with a dry white wine and a rosé for me. You can see the individual tapas in the pictures I'll upload shortly. They cost around €6 each. The restrooms are rather small due to the building's layout and, unfortunately, not wheelchair accessible. The staff is very friendly and attentive in an unobtrusive way. In conclusion: We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Spanish cuisine or wants to discover it. It was a lovely, successful evening in a great restaurant.

Very tasty fish platter, cozy restaurant

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were in the Portuguese Quarter in Hamburg and discovered Mar Salgado. Since we were craving tapas, we opted for the tapas platter for two – absolutely delicious and very varied. Fresh bread with aioli was served as a welcome gift, which got us off to a great start. The service was extremely friendly, and the waiter was attentive and personable. We particularly liked the wine recommendation: the house wine, which was served perfectly chilled with an ice sleeve. An all-around successful evening – we highly recommend Mar Salgado!

We enjoyed our lunch. The prices were very nice as we chose from the lunch menu and the portions big. The fish pasta was a bit overcooked. But a general very nice place.

A visit to Hamburg isn't complete without eating here at least once!!! 🤪 Super delicious fish, my favorite shrimp in garlic sauce 😇 great quality and value for money!!! Excellent food!! I ordered 3 tapas" artichoke woth cheese souce, rabbit and fried anchives. All of them were extremly tastely. Artichoes wete cleaned so uou can directly eat them without dealing with bones. I drank green wine, which is a bit sparkling winrle. It is also rwally good. Stuff is really friendly. Loved it so much.

We were spontaneously looking for a place in the Portuguese Quarter on Saturday evening, and luckily we found it here. While other places were full of people queuing in front of the restaurants, it was manageable here, and the side street wasn't as busy, making it more inviting to eat outside than many neighboring restaurants. The food was also fantastic (sea bream, stockfish, and tapas) and very cleverly presented and seasoned. Overall, the service made us feel more at home than we had experienced in the days before. A truly spontaneous stroke of luck, and compared to others, I'd say even "underrated" 😉 Thank you for this lovely and enjoyable evening 🙏🏼

The service was very friendly. We felt very comfortable with the waiter, and the food was served quickly and very, very tasty. The tile decor actually reminded me a lot of Portugal. :) We didn't have a reservation. We were able to get a table spontaneously in the evening during the week.

The restaurant is quite small and cramped, but authentic. The food was tasty, but not filling. Not particularly child friendly.

Beware of food poisoning! The three of us had dinner at this restaurant on Monday evening. We had 3 different dishes as well as bread with dip from the house. We all drank the same beer. A short time later, two out of three people showed signs of food poisoning. Severe vomiting and diarrhea for several hours. Fever, chills and rash. I contacted the restaurant by phone as this type of infection can be life-threatening for certain populations. However, my request was not taken seriously.

We wanted to have a classic and not overpriced meal in the Portuguese Quarter and we weren't disappointed here. It was fantastic!

I rarely praise, but it was an incredibly good meal. Our highlights were the omelette, the bacon-wrapped dates and the bread with the awesome aioli served at the beginning. The fried anchovies were a bit salty at times, but I think that's a matter of taste.

A piece of Portugal in the middle of Hamburg-Neustadt (Portuguese Quarter) Authentic food as we know it from Portugal - fresh, traditional and full of taste. The boss and the kitchen team come directly from Portugal and bring their passion to the plate. Perfect for anyone who wants to experience real Portuguese flair. Absolutely recommended!

Very nice Portuguese and cozy tavern. We felt like we were on vacation. Despite the full dining room, the service was very attentive and the food was excellent. Lots of small tapas and a good fish platter. Unfortunately, some guests drinking water block the few seats.

Yesterday the two of us went to Taperia mar Salgado and it was a really cozy and enjoyable evening. The food couldn't be beaten in terms of value for money. We had the grilled fish platter for two and the price was great and the fish - delicious! The service was attentive, friendly and our short conversation was very pleasant! We would love to come back and are looking forward to the tapas on the menu, which also sounded very appetizing. Thank you for the lovely evening with you!

We had excellent meals here 3 times during our short vacation. Fish, meat dishes and tapas. The dishes are fresh, very well seasoned and prepared. The service is very friendly and unobtrusive. The atmosphere is cozy and sometimes a bit lively, which didn't bother us. We will definitely come back and would be happy to recommend the restaurant!

We were there on December 28th, 2024. We had a delicious fish grill platter for 2 people and were very satisfied. This restaurant is cheaper than many others in the Portuguese Quarter, but tastes better than many others. We would stop there at any time on our next visit to Hamburg .

We were in the restaurant with 5 people. Very good service and the restaurant is comfortably furnished. Not hip but somehow quaint. We had starters, main courses and desserts. The fish dishes were great. The lamb too. A star deduction for the rabbit in red wine, as it was sometimes very tough. It should have simmered longer. Unfortunately the sauce wasn't well seasoned, which was a shame Overall we still had a great evening

Very romantic restaurant in the Portuguese quarter in Hamburg. It was wonderfully romantic, and also very tasty! There was a great deal on a meat or fish platter for 2 people. We decided on the fish, it was great! The service/waiting staff are very friendly, we really enjoyed it here. The little almond schnapps at the end was also great!

The food is simply fantastic here. We ate here twice while visiting Hamburg three years ago. Back then the focus was on the many delicious tapas. Now we were on a day trip with the family in Hamburg. This time we chose various main courses and were not disappointed again. We will definitely eat here again the next time we are in Hamburg.

Very tasty tapas. Unfortunately the whole restaurant smelled of cigarette smoke, as did the toilets. Considering the restaurant was empty, the service was quite slow. Unfortunately the vegetables in the main course were cold - warmed plates would be great. Good price/performance ratio.

Had a nice evening here in the restaurant, nice location, highly recommended. We were there on a Wednesday evening and there wasn't much going on. But I think it will be quite crowded on Fridays and weekends. You should definitely pre-order. I was there by car. Parking spaces are very rare and we would therefore recommend using public transport.

The dishes are very tasty. The rooms, well, are outdated and unrenovated. It's nice that you can sit in an airy place with the floor-to-ceiling windows open on hot days. The staff is not very attentive and obviously has a lot to discuss among themselves, which is often discussed loudly... Fizit: Recommended!
