A great restaurant. You feel like you're in Portugal. I was back after five years, and it was just as good as it was back then. Highly recommended

We ate here yesterday 😊 It was a delicious grilled salmon fillet, and my partner had a grilled plate. Large portions, great service, and a cozy location. We'd love to come back.

Everything was delicious. The waiter was super friendly and nice. I also recommend the drinks, namely gin and tonic and Portuguese beer.

Friendly service and a traditional Portuguese menu make this a good choice for a relaxing meal. There is a good selection of meat and fish dishes but less on offer for vegetarians.

The food is excellent. If the service could be tweaked a few times, it would be perfect.

A bit off the beaten track of tourist hotspots! But really very good and highly recommended. We felt very comfortable! The service was super friendly and the food was really good! The white wine was wonderfully chilled, and they even got us ice cubes from a neighboring restaurant! We'll be back.

The food was truly delicious, just like in Portugal. However, the service was practically nonexistent. The kids' fries were forgotten, and for a party of four, there were only three sets of cutlery. No one asked when all the drinks were long gone. A shame.

This is the Portuguese Quarter. The food was very tasty (fish platter), and the white wine was good. Friendly, family-friendly service. I'd go again.

Four of us went to this restaurant today. The starter was, in my opinion, significantly overpriced for the amount, but it was okay. The main course arrived after a while and tasted okay. I had ordered salmon and was about halfway through when I noticed a hair in the salad on my plate. I immediately called the waitress, who saw the hair herself and summoned the (presumed) chef. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, he immediately claimed that it couldn't have come from the kitchen, as none of the chefs had light hair. He made it seem as if I had planted the hair myself and repeatedly asked where it was—even though I had already shown it to the waitress and disposed of it. When he then asked, annoyed, if I wanted another dish, my appetite had long since vanished. My companion also stopped eating after seeing the hair. Instead of understanding or professionalism, there was only discussion. Mistakes can happen, but in a restaurant, such things should be handled respectfully and with a customer-focused approach. Although the dish was ultimately removed from the bill, the handling was completely unprofessional and rude. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it.

Helped with the translation by a neighboring table, we enjoyed some very good calamari. Nice little restaurant. I recommend it; you can meet some great people.

I had the house-style rump steak with a side salad. I thought the food was very poor. The salad dressing tasted like fish. The meat was cooked thoroughly, which was a shame, and it was tough. Unfortunately for me, the meal was ruined by mushrooms. This side dish should be listed somewhere on the menu; there are people who are disgusted by mushrooms. Service was mediocre.

Solid Portuguese cuisine in a family atmosphere. The Portuguese Quarter in Hamburg is an insider tip for tourists. It often goes unnoticed.

We stopped by on the way, we didn't have an appointment and they accepted. We ordered paella for two. If you're going to choose it, let me tell you that it's not for two. That amount can easily feed four people. If you're going to order something else, don't order anything else. Keep in mind that it takes a long time to arrive. By the way, we couldn't finish the paella because we were spoiled by the fact that we ate uncooked seafood. They decorated the plate with shrimp cooked in its shell and mussels cooked in their shells. I couldn't clean the shrimp because it wasn't fully cooked. After I barely separated its head, I decided to give it a try and tried to eat some of it by removing it from its shell, but it didn't work, so I left it completely. Only the first mussel with shells was cooked. I wanted to eat the second one, but since the inside of the mussel was visibly uncooked, I left that one too. The third one came out from under the rice and I shouldn't have eaten it either. It tasted so bad that it left a taste in my mouth like I had eaten a whole marina with all its garbage. Only the octopus in the rice was good, that's all. The knives they give to the table don't cut properly, by the way. The waiters have been indifferent from the very beginning. I mean, they seem to be trying not to look at you even when you want to sit down. For the pleasure of sitting on the street, the bread and garlic butter served before the meal, the almost never-ending warmth of the meal, and the caramel liqueur served after the meal, I can only rate it 2/5. The rest is up to your taste.

Initially unsure about some of the reviews here, we went in and were very glad we did! The food was excellent, the service great, and the prices great! We'll be back!

Rustic Portuguese restaurant. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Very large portions, the soup is absolutely fantastic! The decor is okay, and the seating is quite comfortable. Unfortunately, it's very loud, but that seems to define the atmosphere. Service is okay, friendly, but sometimes very difficult to get, for example, for re-ordering. Unfortunately, we had two plates that weren't washed properly and had to send them back. That took a while... We would still come back.

I'd heard about the Portuguese Quarter and more or less walked into the first restaurant I saw, and it was a very smart decision. Fish in all varieties, beautifully presented, generous portions, and very friendly staff. You leave here satisfied and full. And!! You still have money in your wallet because the prices are very fair. Keep it up.

The food was really good, fresh and deliciously prepared. The service was attentive and friendly. Particularly noteworthy is the location in the Portuguese Quarter, just a short walk from the harbor. A lovely place for a relaxed meal in a great atmosphere. Definitely recommended!

Unfortunately very bad. We wanted to eat in the Portuguese Quarter again after we had a very good experience eating paella in another restaurant a few days before. This time we were disappointed and got sick because the fish (mixed fish platter, halibut covered in pepper sauce) was obviously no longer good. The fact is, food poisoning forced me to go to bed and my vacation was canceled as a result.

Food and beer was good and price are reasonable. Walk past and decided to check out as original restaurant that we plan to visit was closed. Turns out to be good! Paella portion was too much for 2. Can share among 3 or 4 if u have other dishes. Go Check it out!

We were here on Friday afternoon. It wasn't that crowded and we got a seat at the window without a reservation. The restaurant's wall paintings put you in a pleasantly Portuguese atmosphere. However, everything seemed a little old and the dining room was otherwise rather spartan. It doesn't invite you to linger, but rather to have a meal in between. The restaurant was still very busy because the whole family seemed to be part of the team. We were served friendly and bread was served straight away. The dishes are described very poorly and it is better to ask what the type of house means. We had the salmon and the steak in the clay pot. Both were delicious and were of high quality. Everything was good up to this point. After the food was served, we were suddenly ignored. No questions about new drinks and the people here seemed more preoccupied with themselves. I would recommend it for a quick meal, but unfortunately nothing more.

The food was extremely tasty. The aioli in particular can be highly recommended. The mixed meat plate was grilled until tender. The atmosphere and the innkeeper immediately give you that holiday feeling. Would come back at any time.

The grilled sardines tasted bitter, the house-style pork was pork medallions with mushroom sauce and fried potatoes. I don't know what was Portuguese about it... The service staff wasn't unfriendly, but not very accommodating either.

Bad food, worst cod I've ever eaten. For a Portuguese restaurant it needs to improve a lot! The service was horrible, the waiter was extremely rude.

It is a very sweet place in terms of atmosphere in the Portuguese quarter. We ordered rumpsteak, lamb chops and salmon. The meat didn't taste very good. I don't think it appeals to the Turkish palate very much. Especially the lamb chops smelled like meat. It may be better if you prefer fish. Also, be aware that it does not accept cards.

Tapas platter is bad fast food. The ham is a small exception. The service is very slow, you prefer to sit down. the counter and plays on the cell phone. Empty restaurant and it takes forever. Questions are answered with annoyance. Absolutely no recommendation.

Sehr nettes Personal, schönes Ambiente, rustikales Essen, sehr lecker! Aioli und Brot wurden gleich auf den Tisch gestellt. Paella wurde in einer heißen Pfanne gebracht. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Schweinefleisch auf portugiesischer Art, das mit Venusmuscheln serviert wurde. Zum Nachtisch gab es Flankaramel. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ich war im Mai zum Hafengeburtstag schon einmal mit meinem Sohn hier. Gestern, am Tag der Einheit, ging es mit einer Bekannten zum Bunker Feldstr. und anschliessend Richtung Landungsbrücken. Auf dem Weg gingen wir durch das Viertel und wunderten uns das viele Restaurants um 13.30 Uhr geschlossen hatten. Hier war Bewegung und wir kehrten ein, zu dem Zeitpunkt waren noch vier andere Gäste im Restaurant. 45 Minuten später war es voll.... Die Dorade und der gegrillte Tintenfisch nebst Beilage war sehr gut, ich komme aus einer Stadt und Zeit wo es jeden Freitag Fisch gab. Die Portugiesen ertränken halt den Fisch nicht in Sosse Hollandaise und kochen noch etwas natürlicher. Die eine Kellnerin ist etwas "rauh" unterwegs, ging nicht auf den Wunsch eines recht alten Gastes ein die Kerze zu Ihrem Geburtstag zu entzünden.

Authentic Portuguese restaurant with real local cuisine and atmosphere. No tourist shop. The small dining room is always packed at peak times. Many residents of the Portuguese Quarter eat here. The service is quick and very courteous, the chefs are absolute masters of their craft and cook original Portuguese cuisine. The prices are moderate and reasonable - no rip-offs.

The fish soup was small but delicious, it was tasty! I would make the portion a little larger and increase the price by 1-2 euros. The service was good and friendly. Unfortunately there were no seats inside, I had to sit outside in pretty cold weather. Otherwise very good, gladly again!

The food coupled with the ambience feels like you are in Portugal

We were at Benfica last night and spontaneously got two seats. We had the delicious tapas plate and then a very tasty paella with fish. The restaurant is simply wonderful, but authentically Portuguese. The dishes are all delicious and the staff are very attentive 👌🏽It was a really great evening.

We only had a drink, but we loved the place and the staff was very friendly. The man who served us, possibly the owner, speaks Spanish. It is an old tavern style and we saw that there were some very good looking fish to eat. We have signed it up for the next one

Mich hat das Essen nicht überzeugt. Die Vorspeisenplatte für 2 war enttäuschend. Teilweise sehr fad. Die Gambas gingen zum Nachgaren zurück, da größtenteils roh. Tintenfischringe waren dafür zäh. Für 40 EUR habe ich geschmacklich mehr erwartet.

I can't confirm the good reviews. We ate there in the late afternoon - perhaps the cook hadn't warmed up yet. Or we simply ordered the wrong thing. The starter platter for 2 was a disappointment. Some of the prawns were still raw, but most of the mushrooms were burnt. Fish croquettes and potatoes - just bland. No revelation in terms of taste. The bread comes with it - a trendy bagette. For 40

We passed by by chance and were magically attracted by the authenticity of the staff… Brilliant. Eat like in Portugal. Hospitality 10 out of 10. Tastefully prepared and fried to perfection. Price-performance = perfect! Thank you for the good food, the perfect service and the Portuguese hospitality. I/we will be back.

Nice ambience and friendly atmosphere with great food at a good price

We came across this restaurant by chance and were thrilled. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful (we were traveling with a wheelchair and walker), attentive service and very tasty food (different types of fish). Definitely recommended, if we come to Hamburg again, we will definitely eat there again.

A wonderful restaurant in the Portuguese Quarter in Hamburg. This time we had the tapas platter for two people. The portion size was well balanced. It was also very tasty and varied, so there were enough tapas for every taste. As always, the service was attentive, friendly and quick.

Visited this Portuguese restaurant and had a nice dining experience. Started with the mussels, which were fresh and flavorful. The fish plate for two was delicious. We also tried the regional green wine and it was a good complement to our meal. Highly recommend for an authentic taste of Portugal.
