Unfortunately, the food wasn't that tasty and wasn't seasoned enough. The pepper sauce was way too runny. Don't get any recommendation from me.

Food was tasteless throughout, fish almost raw, frozen vegetables, inattentive service that was either overwhelmed or listless. Typical tourist rip-off, shocking.

I was with a group of friends and we were all delighted, not only because of the fantastic service, a menu with something for every taste and very representative of Portuguese cuisine, we drank the house green wine and I recommend it without a doubt. In addition to all this, the Portuguese soul floats in the atmosphere, in the friendliness of the staff and in the decoration, 100 x 100 recommended. Obrigado

Prices are fair. The tapas, the fish platter and the dish of the day (monkfish in brandy cream sauce) were really good. Service is also very nice.

We were there yesterday with friends and wanted to have lunch. The food was good indeed, but when I asked the waiter where the bathroom is and he pointed at the tree and told me “for you it is there”. I am not sure if that was supposed to be funny.

Unfortunately I have to say that I didn't like some things. First of all, while we were eating, the waitress said he had to move our table otherwise he wouldn't come over. I also didn't like the food, the crab sauce didn't go well with it at all. It seemed to me like mass processing.

We were there once in 2023 and ate there on two evenings because it tasted so good. Unfortunately we (3 people) were disappointed with the food today. The service wasn't particularly cooperative either. Too bad.

I landed here at lunchtime on my 2-day trip to Hamburg. "Dreierlei from Fisch" was excellent and so plentiful that I had to forgo both the potatoes and the vegetables that were served. Super tasty!

Lovely Portuguese restaurant near the waterfront of Hamburg and in the cult neighbourhood of St Pauli. The place is in an area full of Portuguese restaurants that make you feel far away from Hamburg as you turn around the corner. The service was clearly the highlight of the place. Familiar, close, attentive and friendly service made our experience much much pleasant. They spoke English, Portuguese, German and Spanish. Food was very good, tasty and portions were right. They offer a very wide selection of fish based dishes. I ordered the dorada with potatoes and my girlfriend ordered gambas al ajillo, which I would recommend. We went a bit late so they were out of a few options (I was really rotting for bacallau). The price was right considering it is Hamburg and very similar to the other places we passed by. I definitely recommend this place for its closeness and the fish based options.

The service was very nice and quick. The food was ok, the tapas were only lukewarm, and not particularly good. All in all it suited a touristy restaurant which doesn't seem to value repeat customers.

We went there last night to have tapas and we really enjoyed it. The ambience is great, the food was delicious and the staff were all friendly. All in all a successful evening. We'll be back :)

We had a reservation at your restaurant this evening. In the morning we spoke to a super nice employee who persuaded us to reserve a table for the evening. When we arrived in the evening, the staff was extremely stressed and not attentive. The meal took a very long time, and even though we specifically asked not to have peppers and onions in the dish, our order was still served with these vegetables. This was particularly disappointing because I can't stand it. The quality of the food also left something to be desired and did not meet our expectations. Overall, we didn't feel well looked after as guests and would have liked a more pleasant experience.

I cannot understand the numerous positive reviews. First: You should urgently revise the menu you posted online. Prices have risen significantly. Then I don't understand why about 80% of the main courses are in pepper sauce? There is no such thing in Portugal. I ordered salmon. One and a half (!) boiled potatoes and two small sad grilled pieces of salmon. Add 1 broccoli floret, 1 cauliflower floret, 4 pieces of carrots and a few beans (all unseasoned and essentially raw). We sat almost alone in the restaurant (left part). After we received the main course, there was no service. Sitting in front of empty glasses. Nobody asked if we wanted something more to drink or dessert. I don't know that from Portugal either. So I don't have to give myself that a second time.

We have been coming to O Farol on our many visits to Hamburg for many years and have always really enjoyed the food and ambience. Unfortunately, the quality and especially the taste has declined significantly in the last few months. For example, on our last visit the vegetables tasted bland and the fish was at a fry shop level. Overall, the food was edible, but nothing more. Too bad 😪. Unfortunately there is no longer any Sagres beer, only Superbock.

Very disappointed by the food amd the service. The atmosphere was stressful, a lot of noise from the kitchen...we were never asked if we liked the food and nobody came to ask if we would like a dessert or something more to drink. The food was disappointing to say the least. I ordered a salmon with peppersauce. The portion was ridiculously small in a very big plate. The salmon was dry and the sauce tasted nothing. It was served with literally three bites of potatoe. The rice was overcooked and also tasteless. When you pay more than 20€ per person you expect at least something good even if the portion was so small. The sallads they brought on the side were swimming in vinegar. Generally bad service and overpriced tasteless food. Do not recommend. Not a good representation of Portuguese cuisine.

Wir entschieden uns mit unseren Freunden mal etwas anderes zu versuchen und die portugiesische Küche auszuprobieren. Das Restaurant war auch spät abends gut besucht, weswegen wir uns sicher fühlten eine gute Entscheidung getroffen zu haben. Wie sich später rausstellte, sollten wir uns hierbei geirrt haben. Unsere Bestellungen wurden zwar schnell aufgenommen, jedoch schien das Personal sehr gestresst zu sein was sich auch auf uns auswirkte. Die Vorspeise die wir bestellt haben waren sehr verheißungsvoll weswegen wir uns sehr auf unseren Hauptgang freuten. Als dieser dann kam war die Enttäuschung groß. Das Steak was ich bestellt hatte war leider durchgebraten und jegliche Form von Gewürzen wurden bei allen 4 Hauptgängen vermisst. Die Größe der Portionen ließ bei meinen Freunden auch eher zu wünschen übrig. Ein mickriges ebenfalls ungewürztes Stück Lachs bzw. 3 Gambas gepaart mit 3 halben Kartoffeln und einer wässrigen (nicht) Pfeffersauce für ungefähr 20 Euro, ließen uns enttäuscht zurück. Bei passender Qualität ist nichts an diesen Preisen auszusetzen, jedoch war diese leider nicht vorhanden. Vom Service war nach abholen der nicht geleerten Teller auch nichts mehr zu hören. Keine Frage nach mehr Getränken oder Dessert. Alles in allem leider eine enttäuschende Erfahrung.

The first waiter who served us was not very friendly to say the least. My husband and I love going there, but since we have children it is difficult for us to continue visiting restaurants. The space is small, although there is another larger room which is never occupied (whenever we go, we go for lunch, weekdays and also on weekends), the last time we were able to eat there quietly, with the whole family and the children. The first waiter wanted to seat us at a table for 4 people (4 of us were adults) my little boy was asleep, as was the baby. I had to talk to this man seriously, to get him to give us a bigger table because the child is already taking up space. In fact, when he woke up he took his place at the table.

The tapas platter for two had a nice selection. We particularly liked the fish. Service very accommodating. The tables are a bit cramped and the space could be improved.

The food is not good. Absolutely tasteless, not really prepared, just warmed up. I doubt there is a trained chef at work there. The service was friendly but careless, the food was sometimes forgotten and therefore not served at the same time. The positive reviews are absolutely incomprehensible. There are a variety of restaurants in the Portuguese Quarter that are certainly better. We don't eat there anymore.

Insgesamt war das Essen lecker, leider bekam ich die bestellten Röstkartoffeln nicht, was schade war. Sahen sie bei meinen Freunden auf den Tellern doch richtig lecker aus, cross und knusprig. Dafür waren die Gambas in Knoblauchsud ein Gedicht!

Gemütliche Atmosphäre Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen. Obwohl wir früher (als die Reservierungszeit) vor Ort waren, wurden wir sofort an den freien Tisch gebracht. Essen und Getränke kamen zügig. Einziger Kritikpunkt waren die etwas zu öligen Kartoffeln, die aber trotzdem kross gebacken waren. Fisch und Tintenfisch extrem lecker.

Die Bedienung sehr freundlich die Getränke kamen sofort und das Essen ging recht schnell. Geschmacklich war es sehr gut und der Thunfischsalat hat mich am meisten überzeugt macht weiter so war ein tolles Erlebnis.

Leider war der Thunfisch komplett durchgebraten und die Beilagen sehr wenig gewürzt - schade. Gestern beim Schlendern durch das Portugiesenviertel gefunden. Schöne, angenehme Atmosphäre, zwar bissl enger, aber eben gemütlich. Essen sehr sehr lecker, gut gefüllter Teller und bei meinem Thunfisch mit 2 Scheiben und Salat echt gut. Preis/Leistung stimmt ebenfalls. Die anderen hatten Tapas, Muscheln und Tintenfisch - auch alles sehr lecker. Getränke auch zu einem guten Preis. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung in dem Gebiet 👍.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Ich hatte eine Pfanne mit Seezunge, die war der Hammer. Auch die Gerichte der Familie waren sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Am Wochenende sollte reserviert werden.

Sehr schön (gerade auch weil zurückhaltend) eingerrichtetes mit zwei Gasträumendie dadurch sehr 'kuschelig' wirken. Absolut freundlicher und zu vorkommender Service und zur Krönung noch sehr leckeres Essen in sehr schöner Auswahl. Immer wieder gerne!

Ein guter Portugieser im Portogieserviertel. Die Essen waren alle sehr gut, der Service flott und sehr nett.

Im Prinzip kannten wir schon einige Lokale im Portugiesenviertel und waren an einem Freitag zum Mittagstisch da. Wir waren mit der Fischplatte sehr zufrieden und können die Kritik einiger Besucher nicht verstehen. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis war top. Vielleicht war es unser Glück, dass wir freitagsmittags recht früh da waren, so konnte man uns in Ruhe bedienen.

Gut besuchtes Lokal am Sonntag, Fischsuppe und Sardinen (in Heringsgröße) waren ok, hätten gerne besser gesäubert sein können. Die Aioli wurde mit billiger Remoulade getauscht, somit fehlte mir ein wenig der portugiesische Flair. Die Bedienung hat es ein wenig herausgerissen, doch die Küche hat Luft nach oben.

Leckeres portugiesisches Essen in belebter Umgebung. Die Parkplatzsuche ist leider katastrophal, am besten die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel benutzen. Im Restaurant war es bei unserem Besuch extrem laut, alle Tische waren besetzt und die Gäste haben sich ausgelassen unterhalten. Das ist zwar unterhaltsam aber auch anstrengend.

Das Essen war okay ,Hähnchen im Tontopf .Aber auch nicht das man sagt ..Wow!Aber okay der Preis war in Ordnung. Leider war es ein regnischer Tag und kühl ,obwohl wir hinten saßen war es einfach kalt.Viele im Restaurant saßen mit Jacke .Die Fensterfront war auf und somit zog es und es war einfach kalt.Auf bitten würde etwas geschlossen, aber kalt bleibt kalt.Auch bei der Bestellung würde nicht richtig zugehört und statt Röstkartoffeln gab es gekochte Kartoffeln. Der Kellner brachte zwar dann auf bitten noch Röstkartoffeln.Auch der Knoblauch dip vorweg (Kostenlos)mit Brot war echt winzig für 9 Personen!Wenn man so sparsam ist sollte man diesen Service streichen.Schade wir hatten uns auf einen gemütlichen Abend mit guten Essen gefreut haben aber sehr schnell die Runde aufgelöst .Es war einfach ungemütlichlich. Vegetarisch wird erst garnicht Angeboten

Goed eten voor een betaalbare prijs. Gezellige zaak gelegen in een leuke buurt. Bediening duurde vrij lang, maar na het bestellen kwam het eten heel snel.

Vi var 4 venner, 2 valgte fiske tallerken, 1 valgte rejer og 1 kød på spid. Det var så godt, mørt og velkryderet. Betjeningen var opmærksom og høflige - alt i alt meget vellykket oplevelse.

Wurden schon gleich zu Anfang "angepampt",weil wir nicht durch die offizielle Eingangstür,sondern über die weit geöffneten Frontfenster reingegangen sind. Dann dauerte es ewig,bis man unsere Bestellung aufgenommen hat. Das Essen kam zügig,war aber nichts Besonderes. Nachdem unsere Getränke leer waren,kam niemand um zu fragen,ob wir vielleicht was Neues möchten. Auf unsere Rechnung mussten wir sehr lange warten. Dabei wurde auch nicht gefragt,ob wir zusammen oder getrennt bezahlen möchten. Die Gesamtrechnung wurde per Bon auf unseren Tisch gelegt und weg war die Kellnerin wieder. Also wieder warten...unglaublich! 1 mal und nicht wieder!!!
