We were there today with four people. Three of the meals were very good. One wasn't tasty. The baked gyro was swimming in grease. I could only eat the top layer. I mentioned this, but unfortunately, the staff didn't react. What a shame.

Gyros were dry and hard, the spice mix was still noticeable 24 hours later, the music was too loud... we were disappointed after having had a good meal there a few years ago.

Giros was grey, uncooked and covered in sauce, even as a lunch for 14 €, it could not have been presented better.

After a long "abstinence" from Verden, a quick trip home and in the mood for Greek. Saw and tried POSEIDON: Absolutely GREAT!!! Service: Attentive, friendly, and fast. Food: Beautifully presented and very tasty. And a LOT. Overall: 5 stars and reason enough to move back home.

Towards the end of the visit, the service was very poor. We had to go find a waiter to order drinks. The food was delicious.

Review for Poseidon Verden My visit to Poseidon was a complete disappointment. I ordered a schnitzel with fries, and honestly, it was one of the worst dishes I've ever eaten in a restaurant. The schnitzel was dry, tough, and tasted like it had come from the freezer and been sitting in the pan for far too long. The breading was soggy and greasy, not to mention the flavor. The fries that came with it were soft, limp, and completely inedible—no trace of freshness or crispiness. Added to that, the presentation on the plate seemed completely lacking in love. It seemed like the food had just been thrown together quickly, without any effort. For a restaurant that calls itself Greek and supposedly offers quality, this is simply a disgrace. The value for money here is completely out of this world. For what you get, it's a waste of money. I was annoyed that I ate there and will definitely not go back to this restaurant. If you're expecting a decent meal, you'd better look elsewhere.

Very delicious and authentic cuisine. All the ingredients were fresh and the dishes were lovingly prepared. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The price/performance ratio was excellent. We will definitely be back!

We happened to be there during normal closing hours. However, it was open for a private party, and we were warmly welcomed. The service was charming and friendly. The food was delicious. An absolutely wonderful evening. The hospitality deserves special mention. We felt very comfortable and full at the end.

The portions were far too small for the price. The fried potatoes were frozen and tasted of nothing. The salad bar had a minimal selection: no tomatoes, no cucumbers, not even the classic olives and peppers. The service was very nice and friendly.

Very tasty! Highly recommended for campers who don't want to walk far from their pitch. It sometimes takes a while, so be sure to allow some time. But everyone was friendly and helpful. We had the mixed cold appetizer platter, with extra calamari. Our dog was given water immediately! Veltins and Grevensteiner on tap. There was no charge for ouzo. Great!

The two of us went to this restaurant for lunch. We actually really liked it there. The restaurant is very tastefully designed and everything is clean and tidy. Since there was no sauce whatsoever for our selected dish, suflaki and fries senior plate, we asked for some ketchup and mayonnaise. These two very small, packaged portions cost €2.50 each!!! calculated. This is really outrageous and way too expensive! We definitely won't be entering this restaurant again.

I wonder how these good reviews come about. Yes, the portions were plentiful, but that's to be expected given the prices. Unfortunately, salad is only available from the salad bar. And the service... No one here has ever heard of it being covered by the right. The first plate was put down and then the second one was passed over it. Training for guest service would really be appropriate here.

Typical Greek but with other Greek dishes too...

Today we ended up at the Poseidon in Verden by chance. We were immediately treated very kindly. Then came the meal: a lamb skewer. The meat was impossible to chew, let alone cut. It was just stringy, marbled, dry pieces. The waitresses were simply incredulous and uncomprehending. They had just eaten a skewer, and it was good. All of our meat was still on our plates for inspection. We were denied justice and had to pay the full €24.50. For us, that obviously means we'll never eat there again. Not recommended, at any price.

City center with public parking, large selection of dishes and not just Greek.

Everything was as you'd wish...good service from the very first moment. My choice - liver -> super soft, delicious, a small salad of your choice at the buffet. They also have Georgian specialties. I was even able to get a small portion of that to try. Excellent! An ouzo to finish. It was a perfect restaurant visit. Highly recommended 🍽️

Absolutely top class in every respect! We had the special Athina platter with 5 people and we were all absolutely thrilled. Real top-notch gastronomy that almost approaches the cooking skills of star chefs on cruise ships lightweight and still priced within an affordable, reasonable range. Very friendly and attentive service. As a “crowning final surprise”, a great sweet dessert was even conjured up from the pineapple, which wasn’t even described on the menu. Absolutely classy. So: Clear recommendation and we would love to come back!

A restaurant that can only be recommended.

There is a sufficient salad buffet (iceberg, beetroot, balsamic vinegar, couscous salad, rocket, carrots, pickled peppers, cabbage salad, tomatoes, onions and broccoli). For the main course I had a large portion of pork liver with fried onions. Last one and the fries were quite greasy and a bit soft. The tomato rice was delicious and the liver had only been grilled briefly and was therefore very juicy/rosy (maybe a little too short for me). But the taste is quite good. The steaks from the grill were also good, the gyros were a little drier, but okay. At the end there was an ouzo on the house.

We ordered food for pickup there today. 1. The interior was modern yet still Greek. We thought it was very good. The staff were friendly and had some time to chat since the restaurant had just opened. 2. The food was very good 👍 So it was exactly my taste. Original organic feta cheese baked warm in olive oil is delicious with a little kick. The Poseidon plate gyro, two lamb chops, and liver can also be prepared very well and is highly recommended. The liver was very tender. I know another Greek restaurant in the north, the Crete... a little insider tip 🤤 He cooks liver like this too. My wife and little daughter had spinach leaves with garlic, cream, and cheese as an appetizer. He really impressed them. For the main course, they had the Apolon plate gyro, lamb chop, and souvlaki. This dish was also very successful. I have to say, though, that the lamb chops tasted quite Christmassy, ​​which doesn't mean we should take anything away. In both my wife's and mine, the gyro was super juicy and light. In short: A Greek restaurant worth recommending! 😉🤤

We visited the RV park in Verden for the second time on our trip and, like last year, went to the Poseidon Restaurant. The reason for this was the friendly service and the delicious food. The only drawback: the salad bar could be a bit more extensive. Nevertheless: we'd go back anytime.

I was only there once, I liked it

We got the recommendation from friends, and we didn't regret it. The food was super delicious: juicy gyros, perfectly cooked bifteki, and perfect fries. We were particularly impressed by the attentive service. We highly recommend it; it's worth it!

We were very well looked after.

While the prices for food are in the upper acceptable range, €15 for a 1/2 liter of red wine can no longer be described as borderline. Anyone who expects a special value given this self-confident pricing will be bitterly disappointed. The gyro was dry and salty and the fries were soft. Even a greeting and/or farewell ouzo would obviously be too much for the house.

The ambience and service are good. However, I ordered the vegetarian moussaka dish from the oven. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. The reheated vegetables were so soft and overcooked that you could no longer recognize the individual ingredients. In addition, the entire mixture was covered with a thick layer of cheese, which made the dish overall unappetizing.

We had nice weather so we ate outside. As you can see from the stars, the food was delicious. The service was very nice and she also responded to our special requests. The gyros was particularly good, nice and crispy and well seasoned.

Warm atmosphere, impeccable service, the food is wonderful, the dishes are beautiful, the staff are very helpful, as for the negative comments of some people, I would say that we all have our unlucky moments, I am sure that they too had their unlucky day.

For us the best Greek in Verden. Staff friendly and attentive, fulfills every request. No matter which dish you order, the taste is excellent. Prices on the website match the menu in the restaurant. We can't understand the negative reviews here and can't confirm them at all, especially not that the dishes are brought to the guest burnt. As you can also see from the photos. The food looks great. We continue to come over regularly and enjoy eating.

It's a shame for the money spent, 2 gyros to take away, meat totally burnt, salad very bland, zaziki, yes. Already ate much better.

Poor quality food. Extremely dry gyros, burnt bifteki, almost cold rice, fries not cooked through, salad buffet unimaginative and tasteless. Unfortunately that was a total failure. The plates were returned almost completely full. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cold and uncomfortable. Of course, we personally communicated this criticism to the waitress, which was acknowledged without emotion. Last but not least, we discovered that the prices on the in-house website were incorrect and were higher on the restaurant's menu. We can NOT recommend the restaurant and will certainly not go there again.

Unfortunately, that was the highlight of an incredibly bad week. I had the ouzo plate, gyros, bifteki, suflaki.. It was bone dry, the bifteki was inedible, the gyros came from some warming drawer and the meat was gristly. The Suflaki is actually a skewer from the grill, I'm not sure if it's ever seen a skewer or grill. A small lump of rice that was - honestly - cold and 10-15 fries that weren't cooked through. I don't even want to talk about the salad bar that you could help yourself from. The whole thing costs €20.50... What a wasted evening! The plates were almost completely returned. Unfortunately, all Greek restaurants now have to be included, because I won't be needing anything like that again any time soon.

We had the antipasti platter to start. Great start to the evening. Everything was prepared just right, crispy and well seasoned. The waitresses were quick, friendly and always kept an eye on our table. The absolute highlight were the mixed plates. We had fish and our special request for lamb/pork shashlik were taken into account. Here the dish tasted like it was at home at Vattern's. Ich war mit meiner Familie hier und wir waren alle begeistert. Ambiente ist spitze, authentisch und gemütlich. Das Personal war klasse, aufmerksam und auch Sonderwünsche waren gar kein Problem. Mit das Wichtigste ist natürlich das Essen, und das hat mehr als überzeugt. Ich würde Poseidon in Verden immer wieder besuchen, und kann ihn uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen

Das Essen war lecker, der Service sehr freundlich und höflich. Auch um die kleinen Gäste ist man sehr bemüht. Eine tolle Karte und auch der Tzaziki gehört zum Gericht dazu. Klasse 👍 macht weiter so. Wir sehen uns mit Sicherheit wieder.

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal im Poseidon, sind sehr nett bedient worden und das Essen war auch sehr gut und reichlich! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder 😉

Wir waren zufrieden mit unserem Besuch. Zu Essen gab es einen Antipasti Vorspeisenteller, Rinderleber mit Röstzwiebeln und einen Grillteller. Gute Auswahl für verschiedene Weinsorten. Ist ein Besuch wert, wer Lust auf griechische Küche hat!

Das Gyros war sehr schlecht Fettig und knorpelig. Reis sehr trocken....bis jetzt das schlechteste was man dort bekommt

Die Speisen werden gut abgeschmeckt serviert, die Speisekarte bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas. Wir waren zum ersten Mal im Poseidon, haben sofort entschieden, wiederzukommen. Der Termin steht.

Wir kennen das Restaurant noch aus Stedebergen und waren zum ersten Mal am neuen Standort. Wie immer wirklich lecker und ein sehr herzlicher Service.

Ich war das zweite mal mit meinem Mann dort und beides hat heftig gut geschmeckt. Von Vorspeise zu Nachspeise alles TOP !!!! Ein Stern weniger nur weil der Service zwar sehr sehr nett ist aber bisschen zu kaotisch und laut . Aber werde jeden Monat mindestens einmal hin gehen

Eigentlich wollten wir eine Pizza essen gehen und kamen am Poseidon vorbei. Im Anschluss waren wir froh darüber dieses Restaurant entdeckt zu haben. Den Salat könnte man sich an der Salatbar selber zusammenstellen und alles war frisch und knackig. Mein Freund bestellte einen gekühlten Rotwein. Nun ja, Rotwein gekühlt ist schwierig 😊 er bekam eine Schale mit Crasheis dazu serviert. So einen reizenden Service haben wir noch nicht erlebt. Das Essen war reichlich und sehr lecker. Jeder Wunsch wurde erfüllt und dies mit gefühlt aufrichtiger Freundlichkeit und einem Lächeln. Ich kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen.
