Restaurant Akropolis in Verden (Aller)

Unfortunately that wasn't so nice. We've eaten much better here before (4/5 years ago). The meat was only lukewarm, especially the 220 (meat platter) was cold when it came to the last pieces. Apart from our point of view, the cause was the missing warming plate and a plate that was not preheated. That spoiled the joy of the evening. And the fact that the service was a bit sparse and late doesn't make it any better. The salads only came after asking, and the drinks were not asked for in between. To apologize for the service, I have to say that there were no seats left! But then it may have to be handled differently. It's clear that the lack of skilled workers doesn't make it any easier. But there was enough food for everyone, it was tasty so far and everyone was full. You are welcome to follow up again here. We'll test this again at some point.

We went out to eat for the first time today and on the positive side the prices weren't overpriced, the food was good and we didn't have a lot of fries on it. Would come again, price performance is good.

I claim the best Greek in Verden and the surrounding area. Very tasty and rich food. The tzatziki is divine! Super friendly and fast service. Plus a cozy atmosphere. A nice terrace outside for the summer. And very moderate prices. You are also welcome with a dog. Conclusion: we would love to come back.

The starters in particular are very good and authentic. The service was very accommodating! Solid!

Service very nice. Ambience also quite good. But let's get to the food. The most important thing when you go out to eat. The portions are OK. Likewise the prices. However, there was a lack of spice in everything and some of the food was only lukewarm. The coleslaw was more raw, without any oil or salt.

It was our first time eating here and it stayed that way. The service was arrogant, just bad, no trace of friendliness. The atmosphere was very cozy, we sat outside. It's a shame about the kitchen, because the food was good.

Food was plentiful, spices were probably out of the kitchen. Our service was somehow completely crazy but also friendly. You can do it once, but I don't need it a second time.

There are a few Greek restaurants in Verden, but none are as bustling, loud, and open-plan as the Acropolis. You can tell from the house that it hasn't just been in the city since yesterday. Everything is a bit old, the furniture is very worn and yellowed, BUT everything is clean. You can see straight into the kitchen, which is not my thing. There is a lot of staff on hand who try very hard to fulfill all your wishes and are friendly. The boss behind the counter has his people well under control, the tone takes getting used to. Starter very tasty, fresh ingredients, fresh bread, the main course lots of good meat, the gyros a bit dry, but everything was edible and the price was impeccable. You have to like this loud and bustling place, guests are constantly coming in and out, bringing something here, picking something up there. Personally, the atmosphere made me a bit nervous, but nevertheless not the worst Greek

Completely inconspicuous from the main street...but a very nice garden terrace where we were served an extensive menu of inexpensive dishes. I had souvlaki which were the best I have ever eaten. There are also many dishes for vegetarians. Very nice and attentive service.

The service is a disaster, as bad as the train station restaurant. The employees are nice, but completely overwhelmed when there is a lot of activity. If there's nothing going on, it's no better. Something is constantly being forgotten or delivered incorrectly, which is really annoying, especially when you're preparing for a relaxing Sunday evening. What happens if you bring Giros on a cold plate and then the whole thing goes back because rice is delivered instead of fries? That's right, the whole thing ends in a debacle. Don't just keep raising prices, how about improving service? But it doesn't help here anyway. Boss is hiding behind the counter!

Owner-run business. Very quick and friendly service. The food is excellent, as it has been for years, at reasonable prices! This Greek restaurant is highly recommended. Always my pleasure.

Very inconspicuous from the outside and, to put it mildly, not that inviting. However, once you are inside, you will be very surprised: spacious and inviting. The food is very good and has a reasonable price/performance ratio. Gladly again!👍

We often get food. It always tastes very good and we also like the ambience. Unfortunately there are not enough parking spaces available.

The prices on the website and the prices actually charged differ by 2-3 euros per dish, which means you end up paying more than stated. The food was cold immediately after pickup, the portions were small, the calamaris we ordered had sauce on them even though there was no sauce, the suflaki was dry and barely seasoned. All in all, unfortunately, a disappointing dinner, even though we had already eaten there well in comparison.

The two of us were there on January 12th, 2024. The service was intrusive and you felt extremely under observation. They constantly walked past the table to see if anyone wanted to order something or if they could clear something away. You will also be asked the same thing by several service staff. The starter: Pretty old champions and wobbly feta. The plates came out of the microwave which you shouldn't do in a good restaurant! The bread that came with it was also from the day before yesterday.. Drinks: The glasses were so full of fingerprints that you didn't even want to drink from the glass. Unfortunately the cutlery too. Main course: carelessly prepared plates. There were no vegetables with the meat dish and just a small dollop of tzatziki simply slapped on the plate. The rice tasted ancient and had a mushy consistency. Like there was a lot of butter on it but it didn't taste like buttered rice. Absolutely disgusting! The plates were also covered in fingerprints. We had just finished the starter, then the main course came straight away, which was most likely just under a heat lamp. Unfortunately it only tasted warmed up and not freshly prepared, like everything else that evening. 2 warm ouzo with the drinks, I hope they weren't already on the table somewhere else. We didn't drink them and until the end they stood on the table at the edge where we weren't sitting so that you could tell we didn't drink them. When the bill came, they again put 2 warm (room temperature) ouzos with the others so that we had 4 pieces that were obviously not drunk. All in all, we cannot recommend the store and we will never go there again. Absolutely baah! One more thing... There in the one room where we were sitting there was a huge TV on the wall. A landscape documentary played without sound. Completely inappropriate if you want to eat comfortably and one of you is sitting in the direction of the television. I don't eat out to watch TV. Then the bartender (boss??) came and turned on the football. That was so annoying and completely unnecessary. Why??

Gibt keine Mittagskarte. Das Essen war grausam. Fast kalt und Hart das Gyros und Suflaki.Beim Bifftecki war kein Schafskäse drin. Der Reis und Zaziki haben nach nichts geschmeckt. Die Bedienung unfreundlich. Ca 25min aufs Essen gewartet obwohl nix los war.Das Restaurant war kalt keine Heizung an.Wir waren da zum 1.mal Essen und ein 2.mal bestimmt nicht.

Meiner Meinung nach das beste griechische Restaurant, was ich kenne.

Wir waren schon oft dort. Leider ist das Essen in letzter Zeit nicht mehr so lecker. Giros war fade, Reis geschmacklos und matschig und der Bifteki "tot gebacken " Schade!!! Nachtrag: Nach zwei Wochen war das Essen wieder sehr gut!!!

Sauberer Campingplatz . Nettes Personal. Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Der Tante Emma Laden hat alles was das Herz begehrt und ist preislich stabil.

Gutes Essen und schnelle Bedienung. Alles Sauber, Küche gut einsehbar.

Ein sehr gutes griechisches Restaurant. Das Fleisch ist sehr saftig und trotzdem ausreichend gegart, also perfekt den richtigen Moment getroffen. Pommes sind leicht knusprig, wieder genau richtig. Was ist allerdings vermisst habe ist etwas Tzatziki, das gehört für mich bei griechischen Grillgerichten dazu.

Das Essen war gut. Die Bedienung sehr nett. Wir haben draußen gesessen und das war gut. Allerdings sind auch die Raucher in diesem Bereich und alle Raucher erschienen gerade draußen, als wir unser Essen bekamen. Sehr schade. Man sollte den Raucherbereich extra legen.

Super...Kommen immer aus Bremen. Keiner kann ihm das Wasser reichen.

Richtig gut gegessen dort, gerne wieder. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Geht hin und essen genießen.

Geschmacklich ist das alles völlig in Ordnung. Auch die Portion ist (wenn man die Preise bedenkt) ok und man wird satt. Einzig die Beilagen (in diesem Fall Reis) sind sehr übersichtlich. Da würde ich tatsächlich empfehlen, noch eine Portion Pommes extra zu bestellen. Das Gesamtpaket passt aber.

Fünf Sterne und Bienchen möchte ich mal sagen. Das Ambiente kann kaum schöner sein. Man findet viele griechische Malereien und Dekorationen, gemütlich ist es noch dazu. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich, die Bedienung super freundlich. Die Portionen sind sehr reichhaltig und vor allem schmeckt es wahnsinnig gut. Auch preislich ist das Restaurant der Hammer, nur noch selten sind Fleischteller für unter 15 Euro noch zu bekommen, hier schon. Natürlich gibt es den Ouzo. Das Einzige, was ich vermisst habe, war das Brot und es hätte noch etwas mehr Reis sein können. Die Internetseite ist ebenso super aufgebaut. Das macht richtig Lust auf einen Besuch. Leider müsste ich dazu über 100km fahren, bei einem Tagesausflug nach Verden bin ich dort eingekehrt und kann das Restaurant jedem empfehlen. Die Lage ist wenige Schritte von der Altstadt entfernt, es lohnt sich!

Ich fand das Gyros war echt super der Salat echt super Tzatziki super Gyros war echt gut gebraten Nur was doof war dass das Schnitzel nicht paniert war für meine Tochter sonst war alles top

Bemüht, aber leider kein so gutes Timing, was sich auf das Essen auswirkte.

Essen nicht vorrätig (schon das 2. Mal!). Personal durcheinander: brachte ein angeblich falsches Gericht, was dann doch richtig war. Tzaziki wurde nicht wie gewünscht zum Hauptessen gebracht, sondern erst auf Nachfrage. Die bestellten Essen kamen nicht gleichzeitig. Das Gyros bestand aus Fett und war teilweise nicht durch. Das Souvlaki war hart und nicht genießbar. Uns sieht das Restaurant nicht wieder.

Wir sind immer gerne hier. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und das Essen schmeckt zumindest uns immer sehr gut. 😋👍

Das 2 mal das wir bestellt haben. Essen war nicht mehr heiß und Pommes nicht durch. Portion Pommes für das was wir bestellt haben konnte man abzählen... Fleisch super lecker... Bitte mehr darauf achten das es von Preis dann auch passt.

Das Essen ist - wie häufig bei Griechen - sehr fleischlastig. Als Beilagen zu mein Grillteller gab es eine eiskugelgroße Portion Reis und einen Standard-Salatteller. Wer braucht schon Gemüse, wenn er Fleisch hat...? Aber dann sollte das Fleisch wenigstens nicht totgegart sein. Schade. Unterm Strich war's im besten Fall ok - mehr aber auch nicht.
