The food was great. The hospitality was so-so. But you go there to eat, not to make friends.

Everything was very neat and well-maintained. Pleasant, quiet music and a welcoming atmosphere, fast service, and delicious food! The house red wine is highly recommended. We will definitely be back!

We visited Poseidon with the family for the first time today. It was fantastic. There was plenty of parking available. The decor was modern and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was perfect, from the appetizers to the main course and dessert. The value for money was absolutely excellent. We will definitely come back.

Friendly service, fast, and excellent food that's satisfying even for a hearty eater. The restaurant is very busy, making reservations essential. Unfortunately, this also means it's quite warm and quite noisy.

Although the restaurant has apparently been there since 1987, this was the first time we ate there even though we don't live that far away. It certainly won't be our last time because the food was top-class. I've enjoyed going to Greek restaurants for over 50 years, but Restaurant Poseidon surpasses almost them all. I had a mixed grill with bifteki, souvlaki and gyros. Unfortunately, there was no tzatziki with it, so I had to order that separately. Everything was perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection and really delicious. My wife had moussaka, which she also enjoyed very much. The restaurant is really big and accordingly noisy and the waiters are very busy, so service sometimes took a while. We were completely satisfied.

A fantastic restaurant with a very pleasant atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and a chef who is a master of his craft—a delicate delight from the first bite to the last! We will certainly dine there again and highly recommend this restaurant.

Three of us ate there today. We're all from Bochum, and why? Because the food tastes the best here. Even friends from Fehmarn only eat here. I can highly recommend Poseidon in Hattingen. Kudos to the chef. I highly recommend anyone who wants Greek cuisine to try Poseidon.

Review: This was the second time we visited the restaurant with a larger group – including many children. Unfortunately, the same problem occurred again as last year. The children's dishes were served directly with the adults' appetizers. This meant that the children finished their meals quite quickly and had nothing else to do afterward, while we adults had to wait a long time for our main course. After just a short time, the children became restless, so we – as in the previous year – had to turn on a tablet with a movie to ensure some peace and quiet at the table. The main courses for the adults, like last year, took a very long time to arrive. When we asked, we were again referred to the kitchen staff – understandable, but not a satisfactory solution for us as guests, especially not with a sense of déjà vu from the previous year. The food itself was good and the service friendly, but the organization – especially for groups with children – was unfortunately inadequate. Better coordination of the courses, later serving of children's meals, and a small range of activities for children (e.g., painting sets or a play area) would make the visit much more relaxing. It's a shame, because the potential for an all-round successful visit is definitely there.

Excellent restaurant. Top service. Changing daily menu. 100% authentic. Fish dishes are particularly recommended (tuna, sea bream), and the steaks are also top notch.

Three of us decided to eat there today on a whim. It was incredibly delicious. I had the calamari, which was tender with a delicious crust. My daughter had bifteki, which was so light and juicy, and my husband had gyros and souvlaki. The portions were generous and the service was first-class. Everyone was very friendly, attentive, and incredibly fast. We haven't had such good food in a long time. Thank you! See you soon.

We were a group of 24 people. The restaurant is large and was very busy. The staff was friendly, we arrived at 6:30 p.m., unfortunately the food didn't arrive until 9 p.m. Despite the many topics and conversations, the waiting time seemed very long to us. Food was good. 7 out of 10 points. Menu was created for parties.

I had dinner there with my wife and daughter. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. The chicken breast I ordered was tough and somehow tasted like it had been thawed. Of course the food remained. After I told the waiter my displeasure, he tried to console me with an ouzo. Well, customer service looks different. Too bad. Not again.

The ambience is inviting and beautifully designed. Unfortunately, the food still has a lot of room for improvement. Our appetizers were the highlight of the visit. The main course, in my case linguine with salmon, was way too much, not much sauce, which didn't have much flavor and unfortunately too little salmon. The salad that came with other main courses was already served during the starter. The plates all came to the table very isolatedly, so we couldn't start eating together. All in all, a somewhat disappointing visit, although after our criticism, the kitchen brought us a dessert (Greek yogurt with honey, almonds and jam) as compensation, which we actually didn't need anymore because we were all completely full.

Really good and modern restaurant. Very good service, polite, competent and very accommodating, first class food. To be rated negatively: table for 4 separated by a “partition”, felt like a table for 6 due to the physical and acoustic proximity, unfortunately no intimacy.

We had dinner here with a couple who were friends of ours. The reception was friendly and we got a seat quickly. The orders were taken quickly and delivered on time. Questions about the wine pairing were answered in detail. The food was prepared in a modern way and the ingredients were very fresh. Which was reflected in the taste. The staff was attentive and created a family atmosphere despite the size of the restaurant.

Everything is really right here. The service is friendly and attentive, very nice ambience and very tasty food. I would even say it is the best Greek restaurant I have ever eaten at. All dishes are very finely balanced, big praise to the chef.

Very good Greek cuisine, this includes the starters and also the main courses. Here you don't get large plates of dry mountains of meat, as is usual at many other places. A pleasant atmosphere, good service and cleanliness are of course standard here. My recommendation: seafood salad.

The service took a long time and the dishes were not cleared away after the meal so that the main course had no place on the table. Drinks were empty and no one asked for a new order. The liver was tough. The place was very loud.

The service was friendly and unobtrusive, although a bit inattentive. My meal, lamb chops, was excellent, although at 33.50 it was priced quite high. To drink I chose a wheat beer, I was served the bottle and the glass, so I had to pour myself. I find it borderline. For wheat beer number 2, I was only brought a bottle without asking if I wanted a new glass. Sorry, but this is not a reasonable service in the price range. There was no “ouzo on the house” either, which I find a bit strange with a relatively large table for a Greek. Overall, I have to say that, despite the really tasty food, I probably won't visit the restaurant again.

The rooms have been redesigned. I liked the photographs better, but that's a matter of taste. The food is delicious, plentiful and very good selection.

We were there with 20 people for Christmas dinner from work. Since it was very full, we had to wait a long time for food and drinks, but we understood that. With a final amount of over 800 euros, the owner could have shown his appreciation in the form of a little something from the house.

The other half of the restaurant was also renovated during the summer break and we are absolutely thrilled. Everything really looks super classy and turned out beautifully. Yesterday we spontaneously went to Poseidon with 5 people after I googled for a good Greek restaurant in the Hattingen area. We were all very impressed by the nice and friendly atmosphere. The waiters were very accommodating, nice and professional. The food was extremely tasty: we shared several starters beforehand and were thrilled! The Gavros in particular were my personal highlight! The starters are not mini portions, so we were actually already full afterwards…. And that as “good eaters”. Both the fish and meat main courses were freshly prepared and simply delicious!😋 I'm glad I get salad with oil and vinegar at a Greek restaurant... I've never had (American, French, yogurt...etc) dressing on my salad in Greece. 😅 Even if one or two regular guests may miss it. 😎 See you soon!👋

I had the summer menu, which was served in 3 courses by extremely friendly and cheerful staff. Everything tasted very good, the portion sizes were ok, and the price-performance ratio was no reason to complain. Gladly again!

Were here again after a long time and I was completely thrilled! Service was very friendly, but due to how busy the place was, it was a bit too much for them here and there and you had to wait a little. My meal was impressively good, had salmon with vegetables and rosemary potatoes. The fish was perfect, the sauce was delicious and everything was very tasty! Thanks for that 🤩

Relatively expensive starter. Tzatziki small portion €6.90. No ouzo before or after the meal. Untypical for a Greek. There are better ones in Hattingen.Sorry🤷 Oh and I was there 2 weeks ago. So before the company holidays. According to the billing, Zaziki was €6.90. Maybe it was billed incorrectly by mistake. And no ouzo either before or after. Untypical for a Greek restaurant.

Ein „echter Grieche“ mit einem reichhaltigem Speiseangebot. Trotz des großen Angebotes, alles was wir bislang gegessen haben,war sehr gut. Hier gibt es auch noch ein leckeres Gyros und eine Lammhaxe in der Backfolie mit Tomaten und Fetakäse aus dem Backofen. Der neue Gastraum ist sehr schön geworden. Vorm Haus gibt es noch reichlich Plätze für schöne Tage. Immer wieder eine Freude dort Gast zu sein.
