Restaurant Philipp in Schortens

Our guests wanted to eat at a Greek restaurant, so we came to "Philipp." The ambiance is modern, fresh, and pleasant! (You won't find the classic plastic vines, stone arches, or amphorae here. 😉) The staff is very attentive and friendly, and the food is delicious, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and attractively presented.

After a short trip to East Frisia, we stopped in Schortens and were looking for a cozy place where you can sit outside with your dog. And here at Restaurant Philipp we were in the right place! Absolutely friendly service, very accommodating both with the seating and the menu. After we had chosen our drinks and food, we were immediately offered an aperitif on the house. A very pleasant location, very clean, and very friendly. The food was absolutely fresh, and even grilled to perfection! Thank you so much for the wonderful time, and we will definitely be back.

Six stars, I'd prefer. The staff was super friendly and always on the ball. The food is highly recommended, and the price/performance ratio is simply unbeatable. You didn't have to wait long at all. You walked in and immediately felt comfortable and welcome. We'll be back, that's for sure. Simply top-notch.

I reserved a table by phone on May 16, 2025, for May 17, 2025! The reservation was confirmed for 6:30 PM! We arrived on time that day, but were told there was no reservation in my name. There were four people on the phone who were able to confirm the call and the reservation! Anything can happen, but not even making the effort to find a solution of any kind, and that's for a regular customer!!! Absolutely terrible, unfortunately, this was the last time I ate there!!! They're missing someone with business sense!!

Beautiful, cozy, clean restaurant! A feel-good atmosphere. The chef and staff are very friendly and accommodating. The dishes are attractively presented and everything tastes excellent! The cocktails are super delicious 😋

Clear five stars. First star: The service is professional and impeccable. Absolutely customer-oriented, friendly, attentive from start to finish. We ordered our drinks and received a warm greeting in the form of an ouzo, nice idea - second star. After ordering the food, we were able to put together our salad while we were waiting. Four kinds of dressing, perfect- third star. The food came promptly and was appetizingly prepared - fourth star. The good interaction between kitchen and service is noticeable. Absolutely quiet work and that makes it pleasant for the guest. If there was stress here, we wouldn't have noticed - fifth star. All in all, professionals work here who enjoy their work and put their heart into it. It's nice that we were able to spend this evening here.

Today the three of us went to this restaurant quite spontaneously and for the first time. Super delicious food, generous portions and a very friendly and attentive staff! The price of the food is completely justified! We would love to come back! Please keep serving good food!

We spontaneously went to this restaurant today and were really surprised by the exemplary behavior of the service staff when we were looking for a seat. You really feel welcome straight away, the restaurateur fulfills his role with stars. The employees also fulfill their tasks to the fullest extent. The furnishings are sober, simple, very pleasant. You look forward to the food - and rightly so. The menu is very long due to many combinations, but the dishes are fresh thanks to just a few components. This is actually the case. The gyros are very finely layered and the minced meat products are juicy. The salad buffet is a real win-win solution, the meal can start straight away and the kitchen is relieved, so you don't have to wait long for the meal. I like to eat Greek and have visited many restaurants. In summary, we can say that we are in the upper range here. For me personally (actually a good eater), the portions here are on the upper limit but manageable. Toilets well maintained, chairs comfortable. The bottom line is that the prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is above average in similar restaurants. And mentioned again, service staff exemplary.

We had dinner with the family and were able to reserve a table at short notice. The service is very friendly and accommodating, the drinks arrived quickly and we waited maybe 20 minutes for the food. The food is very well prepared and, above all, fresh. We enjoyed it very much. Top service, top food, top location. We would love to come back. Can only recommend.

Modern Greek restaurant. Moderately busy for a Sunday lunchtime. The food and service were very nice and attentive but not intrusive. There were 4 of us and we ate really well and deliciously. We will visit this restaurant more often in the future.

We were here for the first time on March 29, 2025. Very nice staff, the ambience, modern, which invites you to linger, the food was great, the souflaki skewer and the gyros were super tender and I don't know when was the last time I had such a delicious tzatziki 🤩🤩

Completely satisfied, food on the table very quickly, tastes wonderful, Alexander platter, gyros with 3 pieces of liver, salad bar freely available, ouzo and dark wheat from Tucher, and Jewer Pils on tap. Plus chocolate souffet.

We ate there for the first time yesterday on Sunday March 8, 2025 based on a recommendation. The atmosphere is modern and very well furnished. The employees are super friendly and accommodating. The Corfu plate with side dishes and Salad from the buffet was simply delicious and the portion was completely sufficient. The price-performance ratio was okay. Not a very big place and I find the tables very narrow. It's very small for four people with grill plates, salad and drinks. What I like is salad from the buffet, something for every taste. The waiters were nice and very attentive, even small changes to the food worked. The food tasted ok, but nothing special. The portion sizes are a joke, if you're really hungry you're in the wrong place. I can get a grilled plate with fries and rice for the same money elsewhere. When I was clearing away I complained about it and all I heard was that everyone else said the portions were too big. Whoever believes it!!! Personally, I don't need to go there again.

Ouzo's that were offered from the house had to be paid for at the end with 60€, because of it on the house... Steak was extremely tough and dry.

Boring and nothing special. You can do it, but you really don't have to. There is a lack of highlights - neither the food nor the atmosphere were convincing. It's a shame, there would have been more.

Had a Christmas party there. 31 Ouzo charged even though no one ordered. Waited 1.5 hours for food. The first and last time!

We come from Wuppertal and were there today on the recommendation of our host Kerstin. ..Very friendly and nice welcome, tables, chairs, etc. everything was very clean and tidy. Nice, cozy furnishings, you immediately felt at home. Order was taken quickly. Food and drinks came very promptly. The food was super delicious, beautifully prepared and, above all, it was hot!!! Staff very friendly! No need to be pushy. Perfect... Great store highly recommended. We'll be back.

We went there twice and picked up something to take away once. Every time the food was not convincing. Meat gristly and a bit tough! Service was great, very friendly. Ambience/light not really comfortable! Conclusion: Gyros/food not so recommended. Unfortunately no comparison with some other Greeks in WHV. Ambience not really comfortable for us. I'm sorry, but that's our experience

It is a restaurant where you felt comfortable right from the start. The second time there was Jägermeister best man. We wish Philipp all the best for his new career, we would like to thank him for his kindness, his open heart, the delicious food and his always good mood. Be well and good luck for your future.

Ended up here 'accidentally' last year. This year we made a special detour to have a delicious meal here. And it was great. Extremely friendly staff, delicious food and the restaurant has an attractive and modern design. Compliments!!

Very well eaten and great service.

Quite inconspicuous from the outside but the food and service are unbeatably good!! Homemade tarama and ktipiti, warmed on the starter plate. The gyros are an experience, well seasoned and crispy. Prepared with a lot of love, at least that's how it tastes. A very pleasant service... really all thumbs up, we give it 5 stars. Thanks for the delicious food and everything.

We took refuge in the restaurant from the rain and were very pleasantly surprised! The restaurant is modernly furnished, which is unusual for a Greek restaurant. But looks great. The food is more important and the Restaurant Philipp impresses across the board! Rarely found such a delicious Greek. The staff is also very friendly and attentive! Maria and her husband have the kitchen under control. Not everyone can manage the food they ordered, including liver. Have eaten there a few times now. The quality is consistently good. The salad bar is also simply delicious because it is diverse.

Yesterday we had dinner with the family at the Philipp restaurant and we were completely thrilled. Great service and an excellent menu. We would love to come back. We particularly liked the large selection at the salad buffet.

We were there again on February 10th, 2024. It was once again excellent. Great starter. The salad bar was always well stocked and always fresh. The gyros are not too dry, the chicken breast is grilled really well, the gyros are baked and have a great taste. The staff always tries hard so that you always want to come back. I give Philipp and his staff a grade 1. Thank you .

Gestern Abend dort gegessen. Auf der Speisekarte ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei, sehr gute Auswahl. Preis-Leistung top. Die Gerichte werden auf vorgewärmten Tellern serviert ,Portionen reichlich,Speisen sehr lecker. Service ist freundlich und sehr aufmerksam, aber nicht aufdringlich. Corona Vorschriften werden korrekt eingehalten, es werden sogar zwischendurch die Türklinken desinfiziert, ist mir positiv aufgefallen. Wir werden auf alle Fälle wieder kommen.....Heute wieder sehr gut gegessen, wenn ich könnte würde ich weitere ⭐zu den bereits vergebenen Sternen hinzufügen. Ich würde empfehlen einen Tisch zu reservieren da auch heute das Restaurant sehr gut besucht war. 27.3.22 mit einer Gruppe von 8 Personen essen gewesen, es war wieder top.Alle bekamen zur gleichen Zeit ihr Essen obwohl das Restaurant sehr gut besucht war .Macht weiter so👍👍👍1.10.22,erneut sehr gut gegessen, danke für die gleichbleibende sehr gut Qualität, bis zum nächsten Mal👍👍👍 31.5.23 Erneut wieder einen tollen Abend verbracht. Tolles Essen. Bitte denkt dran immer nur einmal zum Salatbuffet zu gehen. Hatte mir vor dem Essen einen kleinen Salat geholt und wurde beim zweiten Mal darauf hingewiesen, das das Salatbuffet nur einmal besucht werden darf. Umkehrschluss: Also so wie die Engländer am Buffet es machen, übervoll die Schüssel machen und das Restaurant darf 50% weg werfen. Den Sinn der Anweisung will sich mir nicht erschließen. Vielleicht essen in Schortens ganz viele ganz viel Salat und bestellen nur eine Pommes dazu und essen dann das Salatbuffet auf. Das wird es sein.

Sehr schönes, kleines Lokal mit super Team! Das Essen ist wirklich bombastisch 🙏 Es wird schnell und warm serviert auf schön dekorierten Tellern. Auch der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend und lässt keine Wünsche aus! Alles in allem einfach nur hervorragend!

Wir waren am 26.10.2023 zum ersten Mal - aufgrund einer Empfehlung - in diesem Restaurant. Was für eine nette Stimme bereits am Telefon bei der Reservierung. Und das persönliche Kennenlernen im Restaurant hat den Eindruck bestätigt! Bei uns am Tisch wurde ein Getränk umgekippt und obwohl es zu diesem Zeitpunkt sehr voll war, kam der Chef sofort mit Handtuch und Küchenrolle, um uns aus der Situation zu helfen. Die junge Frau, die ebenfalls bedient hat, war auch sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Erlebt man heutzutage nicht mehr oft! Das Essen war ebenfalls sehr gut und wir werden auf jeden Fall noch mal wiederkommen, auch wenn wir in WHV wohnen!

Wir waren Samstagabend mit einem befreundetem Pärchen zum Ersten mal bei Philipp. Ein sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Restaurant. Das Essen war einfach mega lecker! Der Service bombastisch. Extrem aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein und super lieb💕! Wir waren bestimmt nicht das letzte mal dort zu Gast😉. Können wir nur empfehlen😃👍!!!

Ich war dort Samstag Nachmittags essen. Der Service von Philipp und seinem Team war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war wie 1a. Ich gehe dort bestimmt bald wieder essen. Meiner Meinung nach der beste Grieche in Schortens und Jever. Ich kann das Restaurant nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen
