It's very worthwhile, and the food is delicious and fresh. The service is excellent and everyone is really friendly.

The restaurant was really nice, the staff very friendly. Unfortunately, the food was nothing special. It was relatively expensive and tasted nothing special. It's a shame, but that was our last visit.

Thirty minutes after breakfast began (which lasted 2 hours), the bread was already gone, and there were only white rolls left. At the price you pay, such basics shouldn't be sold out so quickly, in my opinion. Was the breakfast selection better/larger in the past, or was it because we were there on a Saturday? All in all, though, except for the aforementioned "bread issue," it was fine.

We visited the Patakan restaurant as part of our company outing and were thoroughly impressed. The planning and coordination beforehand went smoothly, and the team was flexible and very friendly. The event itself ran flawlessly – from the warm welcome to the attentive service. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Overall, it was a thoroughly successful evening that we would happily recommend.

This was our first time at Patakan and we were not disappointed. The breakfast was very good. The dishes on offer were all delicious and the selection was extensive. We had a beautiful view, and the ambiance inside was also lovely and fitting. We will probably be back soon.

The restaurant at Gondwana Land offers an interesting concept: everything is self-service, including drinks. While this is convenient, it somewhat diminishes the experience for guests who prefer traditional service. The buffet was okay, but unfortunately nothing particularly outstanding. The selection seemed solid, but rather average – you'll be filling, but culinary highlights are rare. Asian Soups: A real plus: The freshly prepared Asian soups are truly outstanding. They taste great and are prepared with much more care than the rest of the menu. The value for money is good. Considering the range of dishes offered and the ambiance, the price is acceptable, especially for visitors who want to combine the Gondwana Land experience with a restaurant visit.

The ambiance is very pleasant, and so is the food selection. One minor drawback: the bar staff seemed overwhelmed, causing longer waits, which, given the tight schedule, can be depressing. It makes you uneasy. But it will certainly improve. The beer will flow more freely, the organization will be better, and maybe even one or two more people will be available.

The breakfast buffet is plentiful, with a good mix of classic breakfast dishes and Asian options. The coffee is also very good, and the freshly squeezed juices are truly fresh.

Breakfast buffet: We had reserved for 5 and were given a table for 4. When we pointed this out, we were given another table, which was so small that it barely fit 3 people, and we had to ask for another chair. Coffee in a glass... it was so hot that I couldn't drink it because I couldn't touch the glass. Cup??? 109 euros for 3 adults and 2 children is pretty steep, considering that they don't even include juice or other drinks. But the rolls are nice and pale, and the croissants are almost raw 👎 Hot dishes weren't refilled... All in all, never again.

We attended an event at the restaurant. We reserved a table in advance, which worked out well. We ate at the prepared buffet. Unfortunately, there are only two options: either a small or a large plate. We each took a plate for €19.00. The prepared food was served in bowls and dishes. Unfortunately, most of the dishes were only lukewarm and not particularly tasty. We cannot recommend the restaurant.

Five of us visited the restaurant. It was our first visit. We needed a bit of orientation, as there are different food stations. A friendly employee showed us to our table. The restaurant was well-air-conditioned and had a pleasant ambiance. The furniture seemed a bit mismatched. Chairs were of different widths. There was a power outlet recessed into the floor, which I find a bit dangerous. She also restricted the space to ensure a good position for the chair at the table. We booked the breakfast buffet. The following situation was somewhat confusing, and I would recommend better signage: We were shown to our table, but not explained how it worked. In other words, where we had to indicate whether we wanted to eat the buffet or pay for each item individually. A server at the cash register seemed a bit snippy when she asked us this question. That's a shame. You can't assume that all guests are familiar with the concept. A brief explanation from the server, who also leads us to our tables, would be very helpful, in my opinion. A wristband will be issued for the breakfast buffet.

The food was rather lackluster, self-service. The food tasted like it had been reheated several times or had been sitting on the plates for ages. The taste wasn't great, the potato wedges were old, and the meat was tough. The atmosphere was good.

A highly motivated service team is there: Every guest is a gift... that's how we felt welcomed there for the brunch we had booked. For brunch itself, we would have been better off staying at the home kitchen. The coffee tasted of burnt beans, like ash. The food selection is sparse, mostly vegetarian or vegan (but even then, quite poor), and very frugal overall. Nothing there actually justifies the asking price. It's astonishing that the staff exude such enthusiasm, but overwhelming that they do! Nevertheless, since all the locations are run by the same owner, we will be bringing packed lunches in the future.

Very cozy breakfast and a beautiful ambience

The food is good, but you have to be careful that employees don't secretly take photos of you and forward the pictures. I don't think they've ever heard of data protection here, considering the frequent violations of GDPR. Just like taking photos of the cash register and sending them around.

A lovely restaurant in the tropical hall of Leipzig Zoo. A good selection in an air-conditioned room (although it was almost a bit too warm for us on the day we visited, but that's just our personal experience...). We had breakfast there and were very pleased with the selection.

We had breakfast at Pakatan for the first time, as the Kiwara Lodge was fully booked. However, we found it very cozy and were very happy with everything. We come every year for our son's birthday. We just hope the prices don't skyrocket any further.

We had a very nice visit to Patakan. The food was good, the ambience too. Although the zoo was overcrowded on Easter Sunday, ten of us sat at a reserved table in a quiet and beautiful atmosphere. We all thought the solution with wristbands for all guests and the fact that they were registered at the checkout was great. We found the price-performance ratio to be good, the service was also good and everyone would like to come back. Thank you for the lovely hours.

It is a very nice restaurant with a very good view of the animals that roam the area. The food was also very tasty and there was a good selection and there was something for everyone. The employees were friendly and could help you with your questions.

Greasy and oily food, cheap offen buns, big ass lines and when you come to late you have to wait outside, atmosphere is ass inside it's like every buffet with 30 screaming kids the only cool thing are the animals outside, almost no service only service is getting your place after waiting for half an hour with only 6 people infront of you, dirty knifes and mugs and overall not that good

It's a disgrace to be forced to pay an entrance fee to the zoo when you just want to have breakfast. Especially if it takes 30 minutes due to long queues and long journeys. the buffet time is over.

As always, there was great food and delicious drinks. Only the range of bread rolls has decreased somewhat.

Breakfast again in Gondwanaland in the Leipzig Zoo. The grandson also liked it. Always an extensive selection and very tasty. The service was great, we were shown to the table we ordered. Wonderful view of the tropical hall during a pleasant stay. I can only recommend it.

Rich breakfast buffet including hot drinks and freshly squeezed juice, and from 10 a.m. there is also Asian soup. The beautiful view from the window offers a piece of the tropics in our region😀

It was a disaster!! We were neither greeted nor was our child congratulated! Nobody felt responsible for us. We had to ask everything and the employees seemed unnerved! Last year we were in the Kiwara Lodge and it was much better. Never there again! The promised cuddly toy then had to be looked for first and was completely different than usual. Worst thing I ever have to give a star.

We ordered a matcha latte and a tea. At first I was charged €1 too much for the matcha and it was only corrected after several questions. My matcha turned out to be a glass of milk with woodruff syrup. Unfortunately too overpriced and not good quality.

After I had reserved a table for 4 people and a toddler with a high chair for my wife's birthday, I wanted to accompany her with the additional champagne for €3.90 per person. surprise. I was informed in advance that there would even be soup at the buffet from 10 a.m. Unfortunately, when we showed up, there was no child's chair at the table. There wasn't a suitable one to be found either. Luckily, after a friendly conversation with other guests, we got one. However, the sparkling wine was charged at €7.50 and not €3.90 as described in the reservation and unfortunately there was no soup either. The food was good, but the service was lacking.

We were there on the evening of a "tropical glow". In principle, I knew what to expect in the restaurant. Unfortunately, I didn't expect the rush at this event. This meant that longer waiting times and a used offer had to be registered. Nevertheless, the employees were very friendly and accommodating. In the end we really enjoyed our stay.

A bad very overpriced buffet. A plate costs €13.90, but you can only put side dishes on it, such as rice, vegetables, etc. Fish, meat, vegetarian bratwurst, etc. cost extra. So that's around €25 - €30 per plate. That's way too expensive for a buffet, and apart from the fried potatoes it wasn't tasty either. So it's better to go to the Asian restaurant around the corner where you can get a delicious buffet for around €10. The ambience is very nice and the bar seems to be doing well too. 👍

Very tasty, we like to come back again and again. The only problem is table reservations, we had reserved, we were shown the table and there was definitely a reserved sign there. So we got our food and came back to the table and it was occupied. Only after we said that we could get someone from the staff to clarify this did the other guests get up. I'm there a lot and I often see situations like this: customers simply put signs on other tables or even hide them between flyers. Unpleasant for guests who reserve in advance.

We ate here on Christmas Day. The staff was very friendly and the Christmas decorations were very nice. Unfortunately the food was bland and the selection of vegetables was very small. Otherwise we were very satisfied.

We have rarely experienced such great service. We went to the Patakan restaurant with a larger group with children. The reserved table was lovingly decorated. All the staff were friendly and helpful! Even small special requests were fulfilled. We will all remember this Christmas day fondly! Thank you for that!

The food (breakfast) was okay, but unfortunately a bit bland at times. Unfortunately we had a table right next to the cash registers, which disturbed the ambience a bit. Service was good. The staff was very nice and helpful. The smoothies/juices were very tasty.

I had a birthday party here for my 5yo.There have been 10 kids and just as many grown ups. Online reservation worked great. As I knew the place before, I was aware about the self service concept. Because I wanted to invite all my guests, they offered wristbands. That worked great, too. I payed an Euro extra per person for decoration. It was ok but not in the range of an extra Euro. If the cuddling toy, they placed at my son's spot, even counts, the deal was OK. (silent hint: only offer cuddling toy decoration fee) If they give it for free, u should not pay the decoration but be there like 5m before to do on ur own. The Asian food is really great. I even appreciate the fresh salads. I don't get close to so called Indian curry. Saying that it is ok for the meatballs to be kept hot for hours, grilled fish is out, too. Just do not. I tried ice creme and some coffee specials next to cake. It was all fine. So, by category, it was ok. By being been there, it is a match.

Basically a nice place for brunch, especially because of the adjacent zoo area. The food was tasty and the selection was good, although not huge. Service is an issue here. Everything seemed very stressed, which also hurt the ambience. The buffet was often empty and you had to wait. The hot drinks all had to be ordered at a counter. A coffee machine, like in the Kiwaralodge, does not exist here. That led to a long queue. The buffet structure was also a bit confusing and people were constantly running back and forth. The fact that some cutlery was missing to open and you had to get some yourself from the cutlery cupboard made it even less relaxing. Overall, brunch at the zoo is more recommended at the Kiwaralodge. Everything is better organized there and less stressful.

It was really nice to eat at Patakan. Simply a great location and really a great way to make full use of the day ticket at the zoo. The price is totally justified for the full buffet, so you can eat all day long. The only small deduction would be that the offer for vegans was rather limited, but that is super easy to update.

Unfortunately, you don't have a beautiful view of Gondwanaland from every seat, so a star deduction. Unfortunately, the children's area was also very small.

The ambience is very good. The reserved table was not free but another one was. The food was only very sparsely replenished at the buffet, which was a shame. There was no more butter, no more smoked fish after 10:00, there was hardly any yogurt left and no more bread. That was really a shame.

Selection was fresh. But we were missing a selection of fruit and jams for a breakfast buffet. Exotic fruit was advertised and there wasn't much fruit in general. There were exotic salads and meat/fish. Soup etc. wasn't available at 9 a.m. but only for the last hour. There is no sign as to whether you can get any egg dishes.

We booked breakfast with a view of the tropical house. For us it was initially confusing as to what was included in the price and what had to be paid extra. But after asking more often, we were a little wiser. It was very nice for the kids, as birds flew in every now and then and were easy to observe. The food selection is very good, there should be something for everyone. We recommend taking the elevator to the second floor. There you have a good view of the tropical house. For us it was a good start to our visit to the zoo.

The Patakan restaurant is somewhat hidden in Gondwanaland. An insider tip for breakfast eaters on weekends as it tends to be quieter. A large selection of sausages and cheese as well as fresh salmon is just as impressive as the delicious soups from 10 a.m. - all of which are included in the price. As well as a hot drink and a fresh juice. From midday onwards, delicious Asian delicacies - dim sum is highly recommended. A delicious punch, a glass of rosé or tiger beer rounds off the dining experience. From children's birthday parties to corporate events, everything can be booked at Patakan. Employees are always friendly and hardworking when preparing food. The ambience is unbeatable, you feel like you are on vacation in Asia.

The Asian food is delicious, the ambience is right. Due to the very high outside temperatures, the stay was relaxing. We were in the restaurant with a stroller - no problem at all! The next visit to the zoo is already coming up and there will be another visit to the restaurant.

Pricing based on plate sizes requires maximum concentration and creates stress - the selection of alcoholic drinks at the bar is clear and overpriced. We had to eat here because the cabaret was next door...

We had dinner at the Patakan restaurant in the evening as part of a series of events. When making the online reservation I had the opportunity to leave a welcome champagne and a decorated table. There was no trace of the champagne. The table setting consisted of a ceramic waving cat and a €1 Hawaiian necklace from Tedi. Of course, that wasn't what I had imagined for a birthday. It took a total of 3 employees to whom I presented my concern about the missing champagne until a fourth service employee finally took care of our matter, apologized and brought the champagne, at least 'on the house'. The entire team seemed completely unstructured to me. Nobody had any idea about anything. The food was beautifully presented, but we were bitterly disappointed in terms of taste for such high prices. We paid over €80 for two drinks each, without dessert. The price-performance ratio is not right here at all, as this visit to the restaurant was more like going to a canteen. We cannot currently recommend the Patakan restaurant. What a shame!

The explanation of the selection is good, the explanation of the prices is poor, at least for small people. In addition, you should not be under time pressure, for example before an evening event. We had reserved a table with decorations. For 6 people. After we had already made a reservation in October and it worked out well, they obviously forgot about us this time. Too bad. I like being in this restaurant. There are pleasant temperatures after the tropical climate on the treetop path and good food. I like the dim sum with spicy salad and the really good chilled drinks. The outdoor area of ​​the restaurant also invites you to linger and relax.

An air-conditioned space for dining at Godwana Land is the most highlight of the restaurant. Food is good. The selection is ok, individuality comes in through self-conditioning. The vegetarian spring rolls were ok, but rather mediocre. The semolina porridge for the kids has a lot of sugar in it. The freshly squeezed orange juice is very good.

Food was very tasty, fresh and plentiful. There is self-service. The location is great and you can eat in a T-shirt even in winter. Not exactly cheap.

We went to the restaurant as a family of 17 people. We were able to optimize our online table reservations by telephone to create a large table. You can easily book online for just 8 people. reserve. Then we got wristbands that were used to book food and drinks onto the table, one of us paid and we worked it out later. We were a group aged 2 to 90 and everyone found something suitable to eat. The ambience is very nice. The buffet prices were quite expensive, but I expect better quality. Pancakes from Marché tasted old and were probably not fresh (€3.5/piece). The beer is advertised as €5.5 on the board, but cost €5.9 at the checkout. The woman at the checkout said in Saxon dialect "Oh, then that hasn't been changed yet. But we have to stop at the checkout. I will of course pass this on." Of course she will...

Boxing Day 2023, Leipzig Zoo. Hungry at lunchtime. The self-service restaurant in Godsvanaland is then a way to satisfy your hunger. Not more than that. Three dishes full of errors. Asian ravioli with sesame oil, without sesame oil. Chicken thighs from the grill were not grilled well, the accompanying eggplant was completely saturated with oil/water or one of both. The restaurant was normally clean, staff normally friendly. Prices like in a zoo, which would have been ok if there had been good food.

It was difficult to order and get a tonic. I received a turkey steak through the group pre-order, which was cold.

I was here yesterday for a company party. The whole restaurant was booked with everything that was possible… it was absolutely great! The food was very tasty, the staff friendly and accommodating. Wir waren zum Brunch dort (Reservierung Pflicht!) Das Essen war sehr gut. Die Auswahl ist ein "normales" Buffett mit vielfach regionalen Produkten die explizit ausgewiesen sind. Zusätzlich kann man an "Suppenbar" etwas bestellen. Ein Saft sowie Kaffe/Teen/Trinkschokolade ind verschiedenen Formen ist inkl. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Bemerkung zur Platzwahl bei der Reservierung wurde beachtet. Lediglich die Wartezeiten beim Kaffe/Trinkschokolade waren sehr lange. Obwohl der Automat mehr Kapazität bietet wurden immer nur einzelne genutzt. Dadurch war der Erste Teller kalt nachdem ich mir einen Kaffee geholt hatte. Sehr schade. Das Ambiente ist schön. Auch wenn (Ortstypisch) viele Kinder anwesend sind empfand ich es als nicht zu laut. Aber sehr leise ist es logischerweise nicht. Das Restaurant ist unabhängig vom Gondwanaland klimatisiert. Zudem finde ich es unpraktisch das auch beim Brunch überall Preise dran stehen. Das Verunsichert, zumal noch (kostenpflichtige) Zusatzartikel wie Lolly, Chips annähernd in den gleichen Regalen platziert sind. Sag ich einem Kind "das ist bezahlt, nimm was du magst" könnte das kompliziert enden. Fazit: Ich kann den Brunch sehr empfehlen. Preis/Leistung ist sehr Fair. Angesichts dessen das man zusätzlich immer den Eintritt im Zoo bezahlt sollte das auch zwingend bleiben.

Essen: das Dimsum (Fisch+veggi) war lecker. besonders mit der Chilli Soße. der Fisch am Spieß war auch gut. die Suppe war mir ein wenig zu süßlich. (geschmachssache). Service: Die Kollegeinnen und Kollegen waren alle sehr nett. Alles in Allem, für SystemGastro TOP Kommen gerne wieder.

Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Service war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Preis ist etwas höher als in anderen Restaurants. Das Ambiente und der wunderschöne angelegte Regenwald macht das wieder gut. 😉

Wir waren im Rahmen eines Kabarettprogramms dort. Ich war ein bisschen enttäuscht. Andere Marche-Restaurants sind mir bekannt. Die Essensqualität war hier m. E. eher durchschnittlich. Unsere Gruppe hat am Tisch mächtig nachgwürzt. Das Personal war sehr nett. Vielen Dank dafür. Es waren einfach zu viele Gäste dort. Die vielen Warteschlangen waren störend. Zwischenzeitlich wird das Essen kalt, wenn man endlich am Platz ist.

Dafür, dass es ein Restaurant in einem Zoo ist, ist es wirklich hervorragend. Die Dim Sum waren frisch und hervorragend abgeschmeckt, das gleiche gilt für die Asia-Suppe, die Möglichkeit mit frischen Kräutern etc. das Mahl zu individualisieren ist sehr gut. Der O-Saft war frisch gepresst und geschmacklich hervorragend. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich. Alles ist preislich sehr verständlich und übersichtlich ausgeschildert (an die Preismeckerer: Lesen Hilft!!). Insgesamt eine Bereicherung unseres Zoobesuches!

Wir waren am 14.07.23 anlässlich der Funzel Veranstaltung im Zoo dort im Restaurant zum Abendessen. Es war toll.

Kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen! Essen & Service sind absolut top! Außerdem geht die Erlebniswelt des Gondwanalands hier weiter :).

Geschmacklich gut. Leckere Salate und Dips. Etwas unübersichtliches Bezahl-Prinzip für Buffet: Feste Preise für verschiedene Tellergrößen für Salat und Beilagen. Fleisch, Fisch und auch manche andere Dinge kosten extra. Das ist beim ersten Mal etwas schwierig zu überschauen.

Ein typisch asiatisches Restaurant im Gondwanaland vom Zoo Leipzig. Wer hier schön gemütlich und lecker frühstücken möchte, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Tolles Ambiente, gute Küche und nettes Personal. Ähnlich wie in der Kiwara Lodge, nur ruhiger. Wir kommen garantiert gerne wieder. 😊

Die Toiletten sind sehr schmutzig und laufen teilweise sogar über. Für mich gab es hänchen, es war sehr trocken ähnlich wie der Reis für einen kleinen Teller zahlt man schnell 30€

Dieses Restaurant ist sehr cool und verlängert das Thema "Tropen". Lecker.

Sehr schönes Restaurant, nur 2 Mitarbeiter am Buffet waren sehr unflexibel, 1 Stunde vor Feierabend werden volle Behälter vom Buffet entfernt mit der Begründung "die gibt es jetzt nicht mehr", auch nach mehrfacher Nachfrage, das ist sehr Kundenunfreundlich. Vom Stil ein sehr schönes Restaurant. Was etwas ernüchternd ist, ist das es erstmal wie ein All-You-Can-Eat aussieht, es dies aber nicht ist und man per Teller bezahlt. Trotzdem ziemlich lecker. Vor allem SEHR empfehlenswert: die Ananas-Chili-Sauce!

Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm. Die musikwahl könnte passe der gewählt werden, als aktuelle EU-Pophits.... Marché ruht sich beim Essen völlig darauf aus, dass es im Gondwanaland keine Konkurrenz gibt. Geschmacklich total fad. Jeder mir bekannte 08/15-Imbiss macht besseres Essen.
