For me, this is one of the best restaurants in Potsdam. The staff is particularly friendly and provides good advice.

As tourists in Potsdam, we were looking for an alternative to fries and the like. We found it at this restaurant. The menu is small but fine and features good German cuisine. I can personally recommend the tender roast wild boar. A culinary delight! The restaurant is rustic, and the noise level can be quite high, as it's a popular meeting place for socializing. The service was excellent. We felt very comfortable. The only drawback is the precarious parking situation in front of the door. But that's not the restaurant's fault.

What can I write? Hiemke is simply cozy and iconic, and not just for Babelsberg residents. Delicious and plentiful dishes, cold beers, six different single malts, and even long drinks are on the menu. When the weather's nice, you can sit outside under umbrellas or trees. It's great that you exist!

We visited several times during our vacation in Potsdam, as we lived around the corner. In my opinion, it's the best thing that can happen to you in Babelsberg. We arrived and everything was full. Then four friendly young men cleared the spot for us by the barrel. And voila! After 10 minutes, a wonderful spot on the terrace in front of the house opened up. We had delicious meatballs and a magnificent plaice! Perfect. And the service, too. The price was more than perfect.

Very local nice restaurant with a local menu.

This traditional restaurant reminds me of the tradition of former GDR restaurants of treating guests with the minimum of friendliness and mostly without any charm. The sliced ​​veal with asparagus (haha, tiny pieces from the bottom of the stalk) was stored in a sauce that gave the compelling impression that it had been added from a bag. But it was expensive. The schnitzel at the next table showed the unprofessionalism of how it was prepared from afar. When the weather is nice you can sit outside, that's something positive.

Four years ago we visited Otto Hiemke twice as part of a vacation in Potsdam. It's so good that we now - also on vacation - rode our bikes from Köpenik to Potsdam to Hiemke. Every kilometer was worth it.

We were traveling as tourists and would have loved to have dinner there. Unfortunately, all the tables outside were full and when we asked, we were told that all the guests had just arrived and there was no service inside. There would have been enough free tables inside. That didn't leave a lasting good impression.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed on our last visit. When we arrived we weren't even greeted and were shown to our table without a word. Unfortunately, this friendly manner of the waitress continued throughout the entire evening. It was very difficult to order something and we sometimes had to go straight to the counter to order a drink. Sometimes we tried for 20 minutes, but at some point we ran out of patience. We sat directly in sight and the waitress had to walk past us every time. So she deliberately looked away. Unfortunately, we can't explain it any other way. And when we did manage to get her attention a few times, she seemed visibly annoyed. When we accidentally swept a glass off the table because it was unfortunately full of old glasses and dishes that hadn't been cleared away for over an hour, she snorted and rolled her eyes. I can certainly understand that everyone has a bad day sometimes, but it's just absurd to take it out on your guests. What was actually a nice evening was unfortunately negatively affected. Unfortunately, the food that day was also rather mediocre. Among other things, we had the gnocchi with wild garlic pesto twice, but we couldn't see or taste any of the pesto. It tasted more like a pale green sauce with cream. No trace of wild garlic. Too bad. Since I was otherwise always satisfied, I'll give the restaurant another chance. Still, it's a shame about the evening.

The normal tourist rarely gets lost here: We have often visited this traditional (family-owned since 1896) location with a beer garden due to its proximity to the Karl Liebknecht Stadium. But it's also worth it for family celebrations: In terms of service, menu and ambience, it's not at all outdated, but as the saying goes: always in tune with the times - our recommendation!

Our first impression when entering the restaurant was very positive. We were spoken to immediately and given a seat. Drinks were served quickly. Because of my allergy to peppers in any form, the service and kitchen went to great lengths, which I have never experienced anywhere else. The food (we were 3 people) was absolutely delicious. Starter and main course are incredibly delicious! Here you know your craft. I can only hope that I end up back in Potsdam in time because I don't want to be here for the last time.

The celebration itself was organized very lovingly, dignified and mindfully. We had been planning a visit for a while, but somehow it never worked out. But now we've done it. After the entrance door you end up in a very small, narrow guest room, which also contains the bar. We were then placed in the “hall” and forgotten for a while. After that, things went extremely well and the service was also good. Both the currywurst and the veal liver were really good. This was the surprise gem of our wonderful day in Potsdam/Babelsburg. The staff is incredibly lovely and really take the whole experience to another level. The food was delicious and a perfectly nourishing end to the day. The restaurant and patio are delightful for sitting and slowly drinking your beer. Highly recommend a stop here!

Has a good reputation, but in my opinion overrated! We had 2x schnitzel with chanterelles and croquettes (question with fried potatoes > not possible) and 1x Königsberger Klopse with mashed potatoes (question with potatoes > possible!) ok - so far everything was good - in my personal opinion each dish was 5 euros too expensive / quality: schnitzel : big and ok, but slightly salty, chanterelles: overcooked and over-seasoned, also salty! Croquettes: good! Meatballs: ok, also slightly salty, potatoes: 3 pieces / so far good, sauce: honestly a joke - indefinable!!! Drinks are also 2-3 euros too expensive! Waiters quick and attentive! Ambiance is pleasant!

After visiting the concentration camp, we saw very good reviews looking for restaurants in the area. We arrived at the location at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday. We were 4 people. There was no problem eating. We opted for the terrace and after reviewing the menu, we chose several typical dishes. At general levels: 7/10. Homemade food, made at the moment, in a family atmosphere. The attention of the staff is close and friendly. Although we didn't speak English very well, they did their best to understand us. Recommended if you pass through the area.👌

A really great little pub. A real pearl, one might say. At first glance you can't tell what awaits you here. There seem to be a lot of local regulars here and even the rare visitor doesn't miss the charm of this place for long. The service is authentic, interested and very friendly. The same applies to the counter and you feel very welcome in a homely atmosphere. But the best thing is the food. Solid, old-school craftsmanship. The vegetarian component can also be chosen from the small but fine menu of several dishes. And how delicious it was. Really great and an absolute must if you are ever in Potsdam.
