Zur Linde in Potsdam

Absolutely a great place to get some good food. I had the homemade goulasch soup, stuffed cabbage and apple strudel and everything was great. My star of the meal was the soup, but everything else was also recommendable. The place is very cozy and seems like the kind of restaurant that has been there making good food for many years. In my opinion, places like this are normally the best places to have some good local food. And the staff was absolutely friendly with this poor foreigner. Great experience 🙂 Cash only, but you are not far away from ATMs.

Authentic establishment in the heart of Potsdam, quite good, enough seats. The dishes are not many, classic German, I wanted liver, because I know that everyone has it, but they didn't have it here. I took duck, it was delicious. Portions are large. The waiter is not very friendly, but the service is good. No card payment, only cash, it's good that we had it, because now people usually pay by card, especially tourists. I recommend.

So, today I'm reviewing this restaurant. Unfortunately, the pictures on Google seem to be a bit outdated, because our schnitzel and cabbage roll definitely didn't resemble them. Both the schnitzel and the roll were frozen. The cabbage roll had a slightly chemical taste, and the schnitzel isn't really recommended. The mushroom cream sauce was okay, but it was overloaded with parsley. The price was reasonable for the portion sizes, but nothing more. Two non-alcoholic drinks and the meal together for €47 in Potsdam's city center is acceptable. The service was friendly, but they could be more attentive. After a long wait, we got up and went to pay. The ambiance is nice, and it was quite busy. Please work on the quality of the ingredients, and this place could be something special.

I was at the Linde early Sunday evening. With all the international options in downtown Potsdam, I was looking for German cuisine. It wasn't very crowded yet, and the waiter was extremely attentive and helpful. The food was quick and delicious, and the prices were acceptable and reasonable. Except for the draft beer; I found six euros for half a liter a bit steep, especially since it wasn't a special brand. But I felt comfortable and can definitely recommend the Linde. Thank you for the food and drinks! Sorry, I have to correct myself; the price for the beer was lower, a perfectly normal price, as is usual these days. So, one more reason to recommend the Linde. Forgive me, dear Linde...

"Zur Linde" is located at Lindenstraße 18, 14467 Potsdam. In that respect, it's a good restaurant. The atmosphere is very good and the ambiance is also very nice. We were there a year ago and it was very cozy and the food was very good. We had a reservation and said where we wanted to sit. When we arrived, there was no reservation and everyone was clueless, good thing it was empty. That shouldn't happen. We had made a reservation with a woman 4 weeks previously. We went to the table we had reserved for 6 people. There was a lot of junk on the table. A sink that you could have bought for 120 euros. Honestly, what was something like that doing on the table in the dining room? The menus were really rancid. We had one returned because there was snot on the inside, really disgusting. The food and the cleanliness were better in the past. The smell of the kitchen filled the dining room. It smelled of everything, but definitely not tasty. None of us want to go here anymore.

They charged us €4.80 for a glass of water. They told us it was mineral water, but we didn't even see the bottle. A glass of water at a premium. More expensive than a beer. Add to that, the waiter isn't exactly friendly either.

Unfortunately the restaurant looked better than the food was.

Service and ambiance were good – the food: The farmer's breakfast was okay but too expensive for the quality. The schnitzel was just barely edible – deep fryer... people!!! If you're going to cook, do it properly... otherwise I might as well go to McDonald's!!!

Very tasty German food at a reasonable price. We stumbled upon it by chance and liked it so much that we returned twice in the following days. We tried six dishes: schnitzel, roulade, pork knuckle, sausages with sauerkraut, and chanterelle soup. Everything was excellent and served quickly. The waiter was very polite and spoke English.

We were looking for German food and ended up here. The waiter was patient, especially when it came to knowing what to order. The food was delicious. We ordered a sausage in curry sauce and a steak with exquisite "spicy" sausages. If you're visiting Potsdam, this is a place to consider. I'm giving it 4 stars for the atmosphere because it's not on the main street. It's about 20 steps away, but that makes it more peaceful.

A dreamy, romantic restaurant that still serves traditional German dishes such as "Homemade Aspic," "Potato Soup," and "Pig's Knuckle with Pea Purée and Sauerkraut." We chose the pork knuckle—it somehow suited our tour of old Potsdam better than anything else. We finished it with a draft beer and a fruit brandy. The time-honored ambiance, a quintessentially German dish, and accompanying drinks combined to create a truly harmonious whole—as it should. Afterwards, we rounded off the evening with a Dornfelder and a Silvaner Scheurebe. Very friendly and attentive service! Quiet and pleasant atmosphere. Things certainly weren't all good in the so-called "good old days," let alone better, but it would be a shame if such a good old dish like "Pig's Knuckle with Sauerkraut" were no longer on the menu...

I had homemade aspic with remoulade sauce. The remoulade sauce was just mayonnaise, and the fried potatoes were very greasy. Good food is just something else! Maybe it was an outlier, but in this case, you have to be able to live with criticism!

The dishes were delicious: roulade with red cabbage and grated dumplings. Asparagus with hollandaise sauce and parsley potatoes.

I had a pretty good meal, but the prices were pretty high.

If you want to be transported back to the 70s, this is the place for you. Whether this is intentional or simply hasn't been renovated yet is unknown. I expected much more from the food. The meat was very dry. I wouldn't eat here again.

Open, small guest room in an older atmosphere with friendly staff. Prices for main courses around €21. Well located in the old town, with luck you can park right in front of the restaurant.

Fuimos a cenar. Estaba vacío completamente. Desde el principio no nos quisieron atender y la excusa fue que estaba todo reservado, cuando repito no había nadie y podían habernos atendido en un momento, ya que eramos dos personas o al menos haber sido más amable. Supuestamente hay que reservar pero amigos han ido varias veces y dicen que depende de cómo les pille.

For a schnitzel for this price, I expect more than a frozen product with industrial breading and a mini lettuce leaf...

Nice place. Good selection of wines. We took solyanka, cabbage roll with potatoes (German version) and pork schnitzel with croquettes, mushroom sauce and salad. Solyanka is interesting, without sausage and with mushrooms, delicious. The cabbage roll is tender, I recommend it. Schnitzel - the meat itself is excellent, I didn’t like the crust, it was too fried. Salad, mushroom sauce, croquettes - excellent. Nice service.
