The four of us were sitting downstairs, and a small birthday party was making a lot of noise and getting louder and louder – unfortunately! We could only communicate by shouting. The waiters didn't do anything! The space was very cramped. The food was good, but the waitress seemed annoyed, overworked, and rarely came by. It's actually a nice place, but unfortunately, it was very bad that day. 🙍

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food was also delicious. We had a family reunion and were there with 18 people. The chanterelle mushrooms were a bit bland and not really recommended.

Had the worst veal liver of my life :-( ... In my opinion, the service was attentive but not professional, although the ambiance was beautiful.

Staff very friendly. Unfortunately, we had to complain about the fried liver, as it was served almost raw. It was returned without discussion and re-served. Everything was fine this time. Prices are a bit steep.

Disappointment: The Königsberger Klopse were anything but Königsberger Klopse: two lumps, barely any sauce, a sloppy beetroot puree, and a whole lot of salad that didn't go well at all. The veal liver: tasty, but the portion was too small for a tooth. Service was very good.

Unfortunately, our desserts weren't as delicious – the chocolate soufflé tasted like it had been briefly heated in the microwave and didn't have a liquid center. The raspberry tart was missing a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and the coffee was served without milk. The food at the next table looked very delicious :-)

Wonderfully located in the Dutch Quarter. We used the outdoor seating. Thanks to its location at the intersection (don't worry: there's hardly any traffic), there's always plenty to see. The food and service were exceptionally good. The service was very quick. The food was fantastic. Highly recommended!

We were a group of 15, and our request for the fireplace room was granted. It couldn't have been better; the service was simply considerate and courteous. We were 100 percent satisfied and can highly recommend the "Flying Dutchman."

Very good food, albeit somewhat inflated prices. The first time, we were turned away because everything was supposedly reserved. 15 minutes later, we were finally able to get in.

Located in the heart of the historic Dutch Quarter, it serves solid German cuisine and, despite the large number of groups, offers really fast service. I also like the interior design and the fact that the tables are spaced relatively far apart.

I was last in this area in 1989. I came specifically for a tour of Podsdam. And on the last day of my trip we visited this wonderful institution. A real German romance. If you are in Podsdam, be sure to visit this place.

We went out to dinner with 10 people that evening. Even the reservation and coordination of our requests went smoothly and very friendly. Upon arrival, we could choose whether we wanted to sit outside or inside. The service was excellent throughout the evening. Our drink requests were regularly checked. The food arrived promptly and was very delicious. An all-around lovely evening.

Hello, When I made my reservation, I informed the restaurant that it was my wife's birthday that day and we would like to sit at an inside table. A table was reserved for us on the sidewalk. That was our first impression. Our request to sit inside was granted, but there was a barb in the form of "... there are hardly any wasps anymore..." Apart from this "nice welcome," not a word or any gesture about my wife's birthday at any time during our stay. We have never encountered such a superficial, ignorant way of treating their guests anywhere else. When ordering, we find out that the two dishes we chose are not being served. There was no information about this on the menu or beforehand from the waitress. The exclusive mineral water is placed unchilled on the table, and the guest isn't asked how their meat should be prepared. The so-called "Waldmeisterschorle" turns out to be a glass of lukewarm water with a little syrup that hardly tastes like woodruff. The "Meadow Veal Meatball" is a small, cold, crumbly ball of meat that seems neither freshly prepared nor tasty. Apart from one incorrectly taken order, which can happen from time to time and is therefore no cause for criticism, the service is attentive but uses an inappropriate, extremely personal approach toward us guests. Our comments are ignored. Overall, unprofessional behavior. We arrived at "Zum Fliegende Holländer" with great anticipation and positive expectations and, unfortunately, with the conclusion of an overall disappointing restaurant visit, we are going to another restaurant to make my wife's birthday a positive one. Better with a table reservation

Unfortunately, points were deducted for today's meal. The salad was carelessly placed over the gnocchi? I chose the dish because of the porcini mushrooms, but there were none in it. Absolutely not value for money. The server acknowledged the shortcomings, but offered no concessions such as an apology, a discount, or a free espresso. Don't they need that anymore? Very disappointed.

The staff were unwelcoming and unkind... My friends and I don't speak English, but that doesn't justify rudeness; on the contrary, tolerance and helpfulness make the difference... A country that has suffered from inequality should have learned from history even more.

A week in Potsdam, we ended up here for dinner on our first evening...what can I say? We were literally blown away, so we've been coming here every day. Whether it's dry-aged food, cabbage rolls, or roast pork... followed by the desserts...a true feast for the palate. A dream location, cheerful service, and wonderful prices. Idyllically located in Potsdam's famous Dutch Quarter, it's a small oasis, secluded from the hustle and bustle of the state capital. Authentic cuisine and unusual dishes, as well as a witty and charming menu, are served here. All in all, highly recommended.

Hat alles großartig geklappt, das Ensemble und die Atmosphäre der Räume im Restaurant ist einfach beeindruckend, Service aufmerksam, Gerichte optisch und geschmacklich sehr fein, Steaks von Englisch bis well done top getroffen, Getränke (z. B. Grauburgunder aus der Pfalz) sehr gut empfohlen.

In the beautiful downtown of Potsdam, surrounded of buildings hundreds of years old. My friend picked it, and I fell in love with this quaint place. Great selection in the menu. Traditional German. Yeah!!! 😋

The restaurant and service were very good. The food was delicious. The only minor drawback was that there was no toilet with a changing table on the ground floor. But that's probably due to the building's historic preservation status.

Want to simply enjoy the holiday atmosphere after work in nice weather? You can do it here in the Dutch Quarter. Good coffee, delicious bruschetta in a lovely atmosphere. I've been here often.

Not only were the food and service great (!!), but so was the decor and, above all, the seating arrangement in the restaurant itself. You didn't feel like you were squashed in. Ordering a meal without the bacon, for example, was no problem (e.g., for vegetarians or people who eat halal). The service was very attentive, and there were no long waits anywhere. The music was a bit too upbeat for me for the evening, but that's a matter of taste and wasn't a problem in itself!

A very interesting historical palace. Highly recommended for people visiting Berlin. However, take note to give about 1 hr travel time from Berlin to Sansoucci Palace.

Our family's first time to dine in Potsdam. And we were lucky to find this resto. Traditional German food. We love the cabbage roll. I had the Icelandic fish fillet. And my kids had other food...all was good! Portions was big but we sure did finish it all. We hope to come back to this place. Server was great too!

After our wedding, we spent the afternoon in the cozy fireplace room – and it was simply wonderful! The food was outstanding and prepared with love. The service was fantastic: attentive, warm, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. We felt completely at home and were able to enjoy this special day in a wonderful atmosphere. Really good food, very nice service - I can recommend it

Better late than never... We (my wife, guests, and I) had our wedding dinner at the restaurant on June 27, 2025. I can only express my gratitude for the commitment shown to us. Starting with the uncomplicated communication beforehand. It was clearly communicated how the process COULD take place (they always consulted to see if the bride and groom had any other ideas) to the selection of starters, main courses, and desserts. Any requests were also taken into account. About the restaurant itself: It has a chic "old money" look, and the room where our dinner was held was large enough for all guests, so everyone had enough space to sit and move around. Another great aspect was the outstanding service. As in advance, every step was discussed with the bride and groom. There was no question about the food or drinks that went unanswered. A suitable recommendation and a wine tasting beforehand were also available to all guests at any time. The food was absolutely amazing. Already during the appetizers, some of the guests thought, "It was a nice selection and more than enough to eat." Their eyes widened even more when they were told that these were "just" the appetizers. The portions were more than sufficient, and everyone was more than satisfied. It should be added that every guest was more than satisfied with their taste. All the dishes arrived at the same time, so no one had to wait. Amazing considering the constant need to use the stairs for service – what a sport! In conclusion, both my wife and I were completely satisfied and would recommend the establishment without hesitation. Whether for a similar celebration or as a "regular" guest. Thank you very much L. We spent a lovely evening in a truly atmospheric spot, outside on a quiet street. The service was extremely friendly and cheerful. The only downside: my food was unfortunately only lukewarm. To avoid spoiling the mood and to eat at the same time as my companion, I didn't mention it.

If you are an international tourist here I would avoid as like other reviews have stated I think this restaurant may be racist. We arrived at 7pm plenty of unreserved tables but were turned away as the waitress claimed it was full. We were British tourists and she spoke to us very rudely.

The asparagus we ordered was overcooked and apparently second-hand; the spears were of varying thickness and looked unsightly. The hollandaise sauce was served in small sauce boats that had apparently been filled beforehand and had formed a skin, and then simply stirred. It therefore had lumps. The zander had little flavor and had been in the pan a little too long, making it too dry. The value for money isn't right here, but the owners probably don't care because of the many tourists who won't be coming back anyway. Otherwise, nice outdoor seating, lots of tourists and groups. Positive: Service was attentive, friendly, and quick.

I've known this restaurant since around 1997. Unfortunately, the quality, and sometimes the quantity, has declined, while the prices have risen significantly. I doubt the good service and ambiance will be able to compensate for this in the future. I'll look for alternatives outside the neighborhood. It's a shame, but perhaps everything has its time here, too.

Relaxed seating and dining in the Dutch Quarter. The service was very professional and knew how to keep people engaged while they ate and drank 😀 We felt very comfortable.

Die Preise sind schon in etwas gehobener Kategorie, aber das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Hier fühlten wir uns als willkommene Gäste - bitte macht weiter so!
