This is the second time we've spent our anniversary here. It's a lovely location, especially the terrace. With a great view over the main market Food was good - you can't say anything bad about it, Nuremberger and sauerkraut and my husband had Schäuffele. The service here is particularly nice and attentive. Would love to come back.

Today I was at the Oberkrainer restaurant on the main market. It's easy to miss the entrance. You have to walk up the stairs to get to the restaurant. The view from the terrace on the main market makes up for this. I ordered the Nuremberg bratwurst with potato salad and it was super tasty. The service was very courteous and helpful with the selection of food and drinks. I can definitely recommend it.

We arrived in Nuremberg and went to this wonderful family restaurant. Excellent service, delicious and well-served food. We sat on the terrace facing the square. We were a group of 8 as a family. Everything was perfect.

I'm really sorry, but the potato salad doesn't work at all. Very strange taste, probably from the bucket. No onions in it, a few slices of cucumber placed on top and then called grandma's potato cucumber salad. Cordon Bleu was okay, but too small. Delivery was quick and it arrived lukewarm.

Everything is very delicious, I recommend pork shoulder with black beer sauce and chukrut. The cheese pasta is also very delicious. Bojan's attention was excellent, he is a very friendly genius. Good prices!!

We ate Friday lunch here and the food was fantastic. We had traditional Franconia fare (schweinebraten und Nuremberg’s bratwurst). The schweinebraten, sauerkraut, and braten sauce and pomme frites were very tasty. Service was perfect and I will come again and recommend this restaurant highly. Five stars!!

pretty! This is a family store that has been in business for over 50 years. The manager knows every dish very well and can make recommendations based on your needs. And the store manager is a table tennis player. It was very delicious, and it can be said to be the most satisfying meal I had during my week in Europe. The part is pork shoulder, the bones are not big, the meat close to the bone is soft and tender, the other muscle is relatively strong, the fat is fat but not greasy, and the pig skin is fresh, spicy and crispy. The portion was very generous, and I couldn't eat it all as I didn't have lunch. I will definitely come back next time I come to Nuremberg! A over 50 years family restaurant. Certificated by time. Very delicious dishes, and the manager knows everything about their food, can recommend you sth based on your appetite by the time. The pork shoulder provides 4 different textures: crispy skin, juicy fat, chewy and tender meat. Potato dumplings and sauerkraut are classic. Beer is always delightful. Definitely will come again!

I took a short trip to Nuremberg with my girlfriend. The Oberkrainer is right on the market square and has a great view from the terrace. Not only was the menu great, but also the service and the ambience. We'll definitely come back, thank you very much

I have to say that neither the food nor the service convinced me. The prices were hefty for a turkey cordon bleu. However, the salad was delicious. We hadn't really welcomed each other. I wouldn't visit again.

The food was good, nothing special but good. However, the service was catastrophic. First it took forever until we were served, then parts of the order were forgotten and people looked at you annoyed when you asked about the drinks you had ordered. The worst thing was that we had to wait almost an hour and a half for the food. We were a relatively large group (12 people) and there wasn't much else going on in the restaurant. So such a long wait is not justified. There were no tips due to the waiting time and the unfriendly service.

I had the pleasure to dine at this fascinating restaurant with a great view over the main Nürnberg market. The local German food was delicious, the staff were very respectful and professional, restaurant was very clean and the overall atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend it to anybody visiting this city’s old town. Especially for tourists.

Absolutely amazing restaurant with amazing food and beers. The bar is clearly frequented by locals and you will immediately know why once you taste their beers and snacks. I tried the red beer in their menu and I was pleasantly surprised by it so my advice is to go out of your comfort zone and try the more unique items on the menu, although you can stick with the delicious traditional options as well.

The prices are quite expensive by Nuremberg standards. The vegan schnitzel was tasty, but at most half the size of the other schnitzels, and the fries cost an extra €6, which, without any salad or anything else, brought the total to around €24. The other dishes were also not good value for money. The location is, of course, great, but you can get much cheaper in a similar setting in Nuremberg.

Sauerkraut was delicious and the drinks were very expensive. The waiter was very friendly. However, the ambience is old-fashioned and gloomy.

The location on the first floor, after climbing a long and steep staircase, with a view of the main market, is great. The Franconian ambience is ok, the service is friendly and quick. You shouldn't be bothered by being called by your first name. I think the prices are overpriced! To put it mildly...

Can't understand the many positive reviews. Were there before 6 p.m., so the restaurant was pretty empty. Food arrived 2 minutes after ordering. Flädlesuppe lukewarm with almost mushy egg strips. Roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut was also only lukewarm. The sauce was thickened with so much starch... Potato and cucumber salad like the previous speaker was something from the bucket with a few slices of raw cucumber placed on top. It's a shame because the service and ambience were good. But food is not recommended. Oh yes, and two slices of bread as a side dish cost €2.90

I found it quite tasty, but not for the price. I had the 9 sausages and as an extra "2 slices of farmer's bread". I think the bread cost 2.50 or even 3.50 and was really just 2 very normal slices of gray bread, I have no idea whether they were from the bakery, so to me it tasted like bread from the supermarket. The slices were also cold and came without butter or dip. Similar with the dessert: it cost between 7 and 8 euros (a kind of chocolate cake), it was quite small, it was actually quite tasty but the consistency wasn't spectacular either... and given the price/size I would have expected more. Positive: it's nice to sit there and the beer was really great. If you mainly want to drink and chat and then eat something not too heavy and you don't have to watch the penny, you can have a great evening there. But I'm also a tourist, so maybe the prices in Nuremberg are just like that.
