We had the Christmas menu. Delicious ! The service is very thoughtful!

Very friendly service and the food was fantastic. The wine advice was also wonderful. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back the next time we are in Hamburg.

If you're a first timer, no need to think complicated, go with the set menu.

The food was very tasty, but I had to pay 35.00 euros for the portion of lamb shoulder decorated with a little mashed potatoes and 3 half Brussels sprouts. The starter, a mini leaf salad, cost 10.00 euros. The portion of the dessert - a cheese plate - for one person was slightly smaller than the one for two people, which my friends shared. The waiters were very inattentive. We had to get the wine ourselves from the bottle cooler at the neighboring bar. Conclusion: food okay but way too expensive! No attentive service!

If I could give 6 stars, I would - so there are only 5. Excellent food, reasonable portions, varied menu, fantastic price-performance ratio, very, very nice service, well-stocked wine list in all price ranges, it tasted delicious!! Atmosphere cozy, a bit cramped - but that doesn't matter...

Very tasty food and friendly staff.

I think I was in the Nile for the first time about thirty years ago. Then for a long time it was one of our favourite places for the better days, until I moved away. Now I've been there again and I have to say that it sets the bar for good food. In terms of value for money, it's very, very difficult to find anything better in Hamburg. We had a variety of dishes at our table and they all tasted excellent. It's not over-cooked, but it's the kind of food that makes you really happy. The waiters are relaxed, attentive and friendly. I recommend the 5-course menu, which is between 50 and 60 euros depending on the day.

Unfortunately, despite the reservation, the table was not available. After 20 minutes we accepted the offer to sit at the bar. It was so semi great 🤷‍♂️ We had the menu and it was really very good. Afterwards we had a currywurst because we weren't completely full. But the taste of the food was very good 👍 You have to take time and make compromises but overall it's still 4 stars...

This was my third visit to Restaurant Nil. The first two times were flawless - both the food and service were outstanding. That's why we decided to celebrate my wife's birthday with you. Unfortunately, our experience this time was simply disgusting. Before we could even order, the male waiter downstairs greeted us with rudeness and said: “You can't order a menu, you don't have enough time for it. Order something else.” Has gastronomy become so undemanding that anyone can pursue this profession? Who gives you the right to tell me what I can and can't order? If it is so important to you that the next table becomes available quickly, then say so directly - we would have looked for another restaurant. Later, when I went upstairs to get a jacket home, the same waiter stopped me and said, “There are no more seats upstairs.” Do you now also want to restrict my freedom of movement? Who do you think you are? but then I spoke to the owner, he replied after a moment's thought: "If it's served quickly, that should be possible." So the problem could have been solved through simple communication. So why this unprofessional attitude and unfriendliness of the waiter? There was no service whatsoever during our entire stay. We had to pour ourselves water while the waiter looked at us with a disdainful expression and hurled derogatory comments at us. We were informed that we had to be ready by 7:45 p.m. at the latest. At 7:35 p.m. we wanted to take out the cake we had brought with us for a quick photo. But another waitress didn't even seem to be informed that we had a cake. This shows that the waiter didn't even communicate with his colleagues. Finally we were told that we didn't have time to eat the cake as the next guest was already waiting. I understand that you want to serve as many guests as possible on the weekend. We would have left on time. But my request to take out the cake and take a photo was by no means excessive. I had already explained that we would hurry up and leave on time. There were also free tables in the restaurant - we could have sat there. But instead you obviously just wanted to get rid of us. In my entire career in the restaurant industry, I have never experienced guests being so rudely pushed out - and before they have even been properly seated. How you got your Michelin recommendation is a mystery to me. I will forward this experience to the Michelin organization. I know the owner previously tried to reach me by phone to prepare a rose. The fact that this was not possible due to an error on my part is my problem and is completely understandable. But that in no way justifies such poor service. During the billing process, he then tried to ingratiate himself with my wife by sending a hypocritical birthday greeting - in the hope of getting a tip. But no, there is not a cent for such a service. Nil, I am deeply disappointed. We live directly above your restaurant and have been loyal guests so far. We have always recommended your kitchen to our friends. But the experience was so terrible that I didn't even feel like saying goodbye to the owner on the way out. Yes, I heard you, but I couldn't answer. I didn't want to say how disappointed I was in front of other guests. One last piece of advice from me as a restaurateur: Guests come to a restaurant to enjoy and feel good. When they feel unwell, even the best food tastes bland.

Full five stars for this location! We had a wonderful evening there with three women. The five-course menu was simply delicious and perfectly coordinated. The service was professional and very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is stylish, cozy and the noise level (despite the size) is very pleasant. We were in the Nile with a larger group. The service was excellent . The service was super attentive and special requests were no problem at all. The price-performance ratio is absolutely perfect here. We all had a very nice evening!

We had a warm welcome from friendly and very professional service. Great restaurant on several levels. We sat in the very bottom area, which, thanks to the targeted wall lighting and the open staircase leading up, looked just as beautiful as the other areas. Even though it was Monday, the restaurant was fully booked, which we could totally understand. The food was excellent. We give 5 stars to the October menu that we chose. Because of the menu content, 5 classic stars. But that's not meant in a negative way. On the contrary: great craftsmanship, very well cooked! We continue to keep the NIL on our radar and will be back as soon as possible and recommend it to our friends. We would like to say a big thank you to the team and wish you continued success!

We were in the Nile for a feast. The food was great. Our service Ilka was particularly great. Fast, quick-witted and knowledgeable. She managed to look after each participant in our 10-member men's troupe individually. A small drawback: the greeting from the kitchen or some bread was missing. This evening's autumn menu was more of a roller coaster ride in terms of food (clearly subjectively viewed) while the starter and main course were certainly able to shine, the intermediate course (more sophistication - see photo) and dessert (peka nut cake with vanilla ice cream? Unfortunately there was a slight salt note in the ice cream that was desired not available and the shortcrust pastry in the cake was shabby) so unfortunately disappointing. I would like to pay special attention to the service, as it deserved more than 5 stars last time 10 months ago, which was also the reason for our visit today. There wasn't enough attention given to us as guests today. What was blatant was that we had just received our aperitif when the bottle of wine came with the menu and then the first course?!?! We didn't even have the opportunity to arrive or enjoy the wonderful bread with butter and sea salt, but rather we were overrun with what we ordered. As if it was all about selling and getting through the menu quickly. Here you should talk to the guest and coordinate with him the retrieval of the menu items for each course. I am well aware that this is difficult to coordinate with kitchen processes, but it was and should be possible. This continued through the entire menu, which ended in me finding a half-melted ice cream ball (the photo shows the picture of my partner's plate) and almost cold cake in front of me after a trip to the toilet after the main course, although I saw the waiter when I went downstairs After I got up, I immediately asked for dessert from my marine partner. This should be sharpened and trained (active communication). Likewise, the plate for the starter was fully explained. For all other dishes, for example, our rack of lamb was mentioned...context and presentation create a feel-good atmosphere. Please follow up here too. But the Nil should work hard on the service, which is not everything, but everything is nothing without the service that gives the customer the feeling that their needs are individually perceived and valued and that they are guided through the evening. Ich hätte mir gewünscht, dass nicht der Gast nachfragen muss, sondern ich informiert werde, wenn Dinge länger dauern.

It's really nice in the Nile. The service is super friendly. The tables were beautifully set with purchased silver. Only the food can't keep up. Everything tastes less good than you would expect. Still a reasonable price-performance ratio for the menu.

Creative cuisine at a high level with impressively attentive and friendly service. Hardly more can be done in one evening. My recommendation is clearly the 5-course menu. Any intolerances will be dealt with competently.

We have been going to the Nile regularly for a long time and are thrilled every time. We have now celebrated our wedding with 30 people in Nile N°6 and are more than grateful for the truly wonderful and unforgettable evening for us. From the communication in advance to the service in the evening, we found the entire team to be super friendly and extremely attentive. All of our guests were enthusiastic about the Nile and we all really enjoyed it, all the courses were creative, well thought out and very tasty, the plates were always empty. We were particularly happy with the super attentive service that evening. All in all, we are more than satisfied with the Nile and would always recommend it without reservation! A big thank you to the whole team again for everything!

Wir waren am 16.09. dort relativ spontan essen, weil unser Hotelrestaurant Ruhetag hatte, was wir zu spät bemerkt haben. Es gab im Nil außergewöhnliches Essen, das sehr,sehr lecker war, dazu einen sehr aufmerksamen Ober und das Ambiente ist wundervoll . Klare Empfehlung. Wir kommen wieder.

We were very impressed with the quality and creativity of the food here. Every course was perfectly coordinated and everything tasted incredibly fresh. We found the price-performance ratio really unbeatable. A little greeting from the kitchen, even some bread with butter, would have been nice. Something had also gone wrong with our reservation in the system and we had the feeling that we had been given the “reserve table” at the passage. But that wasn't a bad thing, the nice service and the great food more than compensated for it.

The tasting menu is highly recommended. You can also sit outside and there is also one or two delicious wines.

For me the food was a bit Borring, had came there with high expensive after having gotten a great recommendation. But after visiting i just felt like i have gotten 4 classic dishes i already knew just dressed for the occasion and one great desert. Wouldn't recommend this place since when dining at a place like this i would expect to be surprised and challenge in both vision and most importantly taste. Which i did not here. Besides that the staff was great and the setting and decorations where beautiful unfortunately I don't think that it makes up the lack of innovation in taste.

Pedimos el menú de 50 €. La comida no estuvo mal pero el servicio fue lentísimo, entramos a las 8 pm y salimos a las 22,30 tras los postres, sin tomar cafés. Qizás el problema estuviera en la cocina porque había muchos camareros. Los precios de las bebidas exagerados: 42€ la botella de uno de los dos vinos blancos recomendados que aparecían en la carta, que resultó bastante normalito, y 7€ una botella de agua de tan solo medio litro ¡una pasada! En resumen, una experiencia muy poco satisfactoria.

Great restaurant with outstanding service. Good selection of dishes and extensive wine list. A bit expensive, but that is absolutely justified by the goods used and the fine taste. We had the 5 course menu, which is definitely recommended. All dishes are lovingly prepared and taste very good. Definitely worth a visit. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Another visit also met all expectations. Unfortunately it is sometimes a bit loud.

The Nil restaurant is consistently impressive. Excellent cuisine, excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. Although I like to give other restaurants a high full rating, I would have to give this one six stars if it were possible.

Were in the “basement”. The other areas looked nicer. Food and service top! You first have to understand the map with the prices for the menus on different days :-)

An institution on St. Pauli - a place with a relaxed, feel-good atmosphere! “Up” is of course correct, until 1833 St. Pauli was officially called Hamburger Berg, so people went to Hamburger Berg. Smartass mode off! What a great shop. There used to be a shoe shop here during the economic miracle of the 1950s. The ambience is pleasing across the board. The zeitgeist of bygone days has been largely preserved here - the entrance door with the typical slanted bar handle, the beautiful mosaic floor and the curved wooden staircase as examples. People who have an eye for such things should definitely stop by here. Regular guests will surely appreciate it. There are 3 levels. We sat on the upper floor on the gallery by the rounded railing with a view of the equally beautiful ground floor. Wine coolers were even made for the railing to save space. We had an excellent menu (changing monthly) - at a discounted price of €50 - in 5 courses. On Fridays, Saturdays or public holidays it costs €60. The kitchen was convincing across the board. In April there was a goat's cheese thaler with a wild garlic crust, chicory and oven-baked grapes, sorrel soup, fregola sarda in a tasty sauce, butter-tender veal boiled beef with a lovely jus and a fantastic dessert. I'm not much of a sweet tooth, but this crispy rhubarb strudel with sensational sorrel ice cream impressed even me. This is very good kitchen craftsmanship. Bread is not on the menu. But we didn't check until later and then didn't order anymore. We also got our fill so well. Ideal portion sizes. 1A service - we were accompanied through the evening by a very warm, middle-aged lady who was very charming and experienced. The well-kept table culture is also worth mentioning. We were definitely not here for the last time.

Selten eine derart professionelle, freundliche und um den Gast bemühte Servicecrew erlebt. Gleiches gilt für die Küche. Hervorragend abgeschmeckte und ansprechend präsentierte Teller. Gut und mutig gewürzt. Fleisch, Fisch und Beilagen handwerklich perfekt gegart. Selten so ein hervorragendes Dessert gegessen. Intelligente und interessant zusammengestellte Weinkarte und für Hamburger Verhältnisse megagünstig kalkulierte Weine. Ein 5 - Gang Menü in dieser Qualität für 50 - 60 € ?!?!?!? Ja wo gibt‘s denn sowas ??? Mitten in HH ! Seit nunmehr 35 Jahren eine Institution. Gratulation! Wir waren jetzt zum ersten mal da und wir haben eine Küchen- und Serviceleistung erlebt die in dieser Kombination und zu diesem Preis ihresgleichen sucht. Weiter so. Wenn wir das nächste Mal in HH sind schlagen wir definitiv wieder bei euch auf !!

Great food, good wine, very nice service. Slightly higher, but still adequate prices. Definitely a recommendation. Reservations!!

Das Essen (Maimenu) war hervorragend. Ein Lob an die Küche! Vor allem die Maultaschen waren ein Genuss. Der Service war ebenfalls nicht zu toppen, sehr aufmerksam und die Zeiten zwischen den einzelnen Gängen war perfekt. Unbedingt kommen wir wieder.

Vi ringede og bookede bord en dag før uden provokeret. Fantastisk lækker mad til en virkelig fin pris. Sød og venlig betjening.den lokale rødvin var også virkelig skøn.

We had the menu from May. Service, courteous, nice and friendly. The food doesn't get full marks. For me personally, too much salt was used there and it's close to the limit.
