Super delicious tapas style evening, with lots of variation, a divine Pisco Sour and the South American influences in the dishes you want (cevice!). We'll be back!

It is a wonderful restaurant. I went with my two children and my wife, they loved it too. The meals have a flavor that I cannot describe. I was very surprised by the restaurant. I wanted to quickly grab something to eat with a couple of friends and we ended up being there for 4 hours. The shop is inconspicuous, but the food and the ambience were incredible and the service is nothing to write home about. I can only recommend it.

A Hidden Gem in Hamburg – We had the pleasure of dining at Maadeyo with our family, and it was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere is a perfect balance between elegance and coziness, with warm, beautiful lighting and authentic wooden tables that make you feel right at home.The food was simply extraordinary—unique dishes blending flavors from various cuisines in ways we’ve never tasted before. Our family has a mix of dietary preferences (vegetarians and meat lovers) and everyone found something delicious to enjoy, which made it such an stress-free and delightful experience for us. We (the grownups) ended the evening with a perfectly crafted Pisco Sour, one of the best we've had! We’ll be back for sure.

There's not much to tell here. SIDO concert, the Christmas concert. The location is good. You have to be lucky to find a good place. The atmosphere was great.

Excellentes Silvesterdinner - sowohl kulinarisch wie auch im Service. Sehr schönes Spiel zwischen südamerikanischen und heimischen Geschmäckern und Gewürzen. Dazu passende Weine. Nochmals hervorzuheben ist der Service: immer aufmerksam, präsent und mit nicht gespielter Freude bei der Sache. Ein rundum gelungener Silvesterabend.

Great food and great store. Very comfortable. However, sometimes a bit inflexible. You can only make a reservation at very specific times and if you would rather have tequila than mezcal in your margarita, unfortunately that's not possible

Schönes Ambiente, spannende Aromen , nettes Personal

Schade - dass diese Lokal so gut ist, weil es inzwischen viel zu beliebt ist! Scherz beiseite. Ich war jetzt zum wiederholten Mal dort, diesmal mit eine Gruppe von 12 Personen inklusive Kinder. Es war wie beim ersten Mal einfach gut! Essen gut, Bedienung gut, Preise OK, Ambiente top. Das Konzept mit kleinere Portionen ist sehr gut und sogar die Kinder die Standardmaessig nach Pommes gefragt hatten, waren begeistert mit dem was die bekommen haben. Beim ersten mal ist es ein wenig ungewöhnlich und ich habe mich zurückgelehnt und geschaut wie die anderen Gäste mit mir sich durchgearbeitet haben. Von deren anfänglichen Skepsis bleib bereits nach der Maisbrot und kleine Appetizer nichts mehr übrig. Ein gelungene Abend und unsere Dank an das gesamte Team - samt Administration - für ein sehr schöne Zeit. Wir kommen wieder!

Um unseren Jahrestag zu feiern, waren wir schon öfter im Maa Deyo und es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir dieses Restaurant in unserer Nähe auch mit Besuch immer in der Auswahl hatten. Das Essen war auch diesmal wirklich super lecker, allerdings waren die Absprachen mit dem Service so intransparent, dass wir am Ende ohne Dessert und Abschlussgetränk gegangen sind.

The food was really delicious, we were really shook out of our mind, one if the best food experiences we‘ve had (considering the price as well). Ambiance was great and actually really enjoyable music. Service is super friendly :)

You can taste the good ingredients individually - very creative, lots of combinations that I've never had before - well seasoned - Flavor intensity rather low - nicely presented - Drinks creative and tasty (both with and without alcohol) Service great. Nice, quick accommodating. Atmosphere chic. Brings South America feeling. From the tables to the walls to the lights and the music, very good. Could be a little quieter and use more space but not a real disadvantage. Highly recommended!

Great food, very friendly service, great atmosphere. It's completely okay that the tables are reserved and occupied in two shifts (6.30 p.m. / 8.30 p.m.), I would do the same if it were my restaurant. Only the type of request "you still have 8 minutes, then you have to be out" could be friendlier, especially if at 8:22 p.m. the restaurant is still/almost empty again / the "second shift" has not yet arrived. ..

Sehr leckere und einfallsreiche lateinamerikanische Küche bei einem schönen,“shabby“ Ambiente und super nettem Service! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir hatten einen Tisch von 18.00 bis 20.00 Uhr. Leckere Mocktails, leckere Tapas, super freundliche und schnelle Servicekräfte . Das Essen sehr aromatisch und lecker.

Es hätte so schön sein können, bei einem „all-you-can-eat“ Muschelessen und einem Preis von EUR 30 hätte ich bei vier Personen schon mehr als 5 normal große Suppenteller (insgesamt) erwartet. Wie gut, dass es in der Nähe genügend Take-Aways gibt. Auch wenn die verschiedenen Zubereitungsarten der Muscheln lecker waren, so ist hier noch sehr sehr viel Luft nach oben.

Absolutely fabulous place: the atmosphere is great, the staff is totally lovely and the food is... Different and delicious!!! We went a bit mad on choices because everything looked so good and we had a perfect evening!

Overall, the restaurant impresses with a very cozy, casual atmosphere! (although unfortunately we had the table between the kitchen exit and the food counter, which is perhaps the only one that isn't quite as nice.) You can sit at the bar, at high tables or at normal tables (2 rooms). The service is very nice and friendly. The menu includes tapas, vegetarian/vegan and also fish and meat dishes, but overall it's a pretty short menu. Personally, I always think this is better because the dishes are then more likely to be freshly prepared than if a menu contains 50 dishes. The dishes are very creative and seem to be mostly Latin American, but Japanese and Korean elements also appear on the menu. The quality was consistently good. Only the Pimientos de Padron were very soft and cooked through. The fish in the ceviche was great, but the other ingredients were rather sparse. It's not your typical Leche de Tigre - I couldn't quite taste what was in the slightly orange sauce, but it was also very tasty. The wines aren't exactly cheap, so it's more worth trying one of the good cocktails. Overall a very nice evening. I can recommend Maa deyo!

Highly recommended. The food is fantastic and invites you to order and share multiple dishes. There are many options for vegetarians and vegans. The only deduction is the greeting at the door. We were treated relatively harshly, but the rest of the staff definitely got over it. So it remains a 5 star rating!

Exceptional map that is definitely worth discovering. We originally had a reservation at the Bullerei. When we got there, unfortunately we (ALL) had to vacate the hall. An unexploded bomb from World War II was defused and a large area of ​​the Schanzenviertel was evacuated. The top employee from the Bullerei (bar) recommended Maa Deyo to us and even reserved a place for us over the phone due to his stressful situation. WOW!!! We received a very warm welcome from the top hosts. All the dishes we ordered left nothing open. Until then, I had no idea what pointed cabbage prepared this way could taste like. Bullying then but safe next time in Hamburg. Promised! Incidentally, the defusing took place without any damage. However, without this circumstance we would not have been able to enjoy it.

The food was really delicious because people cook with passion. The service was also very nice and I like the ambience. The only thing I have a point of criticism about is the price, the food, and I think the portion is too small for the price. As an example, two and a half sliced ​​roasted carrots with feta sauce for around €11 is tough I have no idea how the prices are determined. In any case, if 2 dishes together cost well over €20, don't fill up. It's not a store you can visit regularly. Unfortunately.

Great card, very imaginative and definitely unusual for HH. It's great that the basis (around 80/85 percent) of the dishes are vegan. Meat and fish, if you need it, are available in a small selection on the back pages. The food itself is fusion style, with a South American base - all served as tapas, so meant to be shared. The vegan ceviche with vegan salmon and great, aromatic leche de tigre is outstanding. The very tasty baked tofu with kimchi was also a success. In some cases, the flavor could be even better with sweetness, acidity and salt (example: banana gnocchi are naturally sweet, the red curry sauce is also sweet, so there needs to be more acidity, for example). Service is quick and friendly. Overall it's not cheap, as the portions in particular are relatively small, but all in all it's worth the price as the food is definitely cooked entirely from scratch. Keep it up!

Great restaurant with unusual cuisine. Every single dish is a taste experience, lovingly prepared and a visual feast for the eyes. The ambience is cozy, the atmosphere relaxed. The service was fantastic, they took time for us to make our experience even more personal. Every dish was explained to us with a corresponding story and there was also time for one or two snacks. Cristian and his team are great hosts - we will definitely come back.

Grossartiges Restaurant mit einer ungewöhnlichen Küche. Jedes einzelne Gericht ist ein Geschmackserlebnis, liebevoll zubereitet und optisch ein Augenschmaus. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich, die Atmosphäre entspannt. Der Service war fantastisch, man hat sich Zeit für uns genommen um unser Erlebnis noch persönlicher zu gestalten. Jedes Gericht wurde uns erklärt mit einer passenden Geschichte dazu und für den einen oder anderen Schnack war auch Zeit. Cristian und sein Team sind grossartige Gastgeber - wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Alles war schön, aber die Geschmacksexplosion war am schönsten. Pimientos kemnt man eigentlich, aber DIESE..... ALLE Speisen waren einfach großartig. Sehr freundliches Personal, ein rundum schöner Abend.

Creative and tasty dishes served on sharing plates. Very good for vegetarians because there is a good plant-based selection. The concept is based on sharing what is interesting (because versatile) and sociable. However, it should be borne in mind that if the dishes are more than 2P, they are often not very practical to share (sometimes served as one or a maximum of two pieces, which have to be mercilessly torn apart if several people eat them) That could be taken into account. (It works better for two people and is certainly more common.) We had ordered cornbread (4.50 for 3 slices) and a dip in advance, which definitely helped fill us up. Otherwise the portions are small. Between the three of us, it was always just an appetizing bite for everyone. Very delicious, but don't expect more. Then it fits well. The prices are often understandable, but 2 to 3 roasted carrots cut into strips on feta cream with honey, thyme and pine nuts seem quite expensive for €12.50 because, as I said, there is no bread or anything like that with it. (But it tastes good and is therefore recommended ;) ) Other things, however, are completely ok. In this combination, the prices remain fair because everything is prepared and decorated with great attention to detail. Eating is fun. A water flat rate for 3.90 / person was gladly and repeatedly delivered. We found that very pleasant. The service was friendly. We were happy to be able to exchange the beer table with benches that was initially offered for a much more comfortable table for two with an additional chair. From our point of view, a nice place that we can imagine repeating. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Creative and delicious! Has a lovely atmosphere and enjoyable music. The pisco sour with the "mal paso" Chilean pisco was the best that I have ever tried in Germany ;) The food was delicious! We enjoy our time in this Latin restaurant.

Sehr tolles Essen❤️ die Auswahl fällt schwer weil wirklich alles super lecker klingt, aussieht und dann auch so schmeckt. Man kombiniert verschiedene Gerichte und teilt sie miteinander wie Tapas (dadurch wird die Qual der Wahl umgangen). In der Summe nicht ganz billig, aber in Ordnung wenn man sich alles teilt und geröstetes Maisbrot als Sattmacher dazunimmt. Abendessen mit Getränken und Trinkgeld für 33€/Nase passt schon. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wie großartig kann Maisbrot sein? Oder Pimentos? Oder Spitzkohl? Und der absolute Hammer: Bananengnocchi! Und danach ein wunderbarer Peanut Old Fashion oder eine Popcorn Margerita. Toller Abend, tolles Essen, tolle Gastgeber!

Für das erste Date gibt es keinen besseren Ort. Für das zweite eigentlich auch nicht :) Das Essen war einfach unfassbar gut: jedes Gericht so noch nie gegessen – also perfekt zum Teilen. The dark, artistic atmosphere is packed with pictures, masks and hidden treasures at every turn (try to find the Fraggle Rock doozers close by the kitchen). The food? Mind-blowing fusion dishes that surprise and delight with every bite. If you love discovering new flavors in an eclectic, artsy setting, Maa deyo is a must-visit!

Dass essen war schon sehr gut, vor allem für Veganer, aber für die Fleisch / Fisch essenden könnte die Auswahl etwas besser werden 😉

Mitten auf Pauli. Interessante, südamerikanisch-angehauchte Tapas bzw . Gerichte zum Teilen. Sehr lecker und preislich ambitioniert. Z.B. Rote-Beete-Tartar € 16, ebenso eine kleine Portion Pulpo. Cocktails und Wein ebenfalls prima. Preis/Person incl Trinkgeld +/- € 75 aufwärts.

Unser Lieblingsrestaurant! Super netter Service, wahnsinnig gutes Essen und viel zu gute Drinks. Wir freuen uns immer, wenn es einen besonderen Anlass gibt, um einen Grund zu haben uns das Maa Deyo zu gönnen.

We had reserved a table in advance for three people, explicitly mentioning that it was a birthday dinner and asking for a comfortable seat. When we arrived we were shown to a 2-seater table that was right at the staff entrance to the kitchen. With two chairs. We asked for a third. After about five minutes of standing around lost, another waitress came and asked why we were standing. We mentioned that there was still no chair for us and that we would like a larger table. The lady said “we’re fully booked” and shrugged her shoulders. Apart from us, only one of the nine tables downstairs was occupied. At some point the chair came and, as mentioned, the birthday child was allowed to sit half in the staff aisle. At some point when we were sitting we were informed that there was a follow-up booking and that the table would be needed again from 8 p.m. At 7:50 p.m. the waitress came and repeatedly pointed out to us that the table would be reserved immediately and that we still had “a relaxing 10 minutes” to finish eating. Two minutes later another lady came and told us that the new reservation was now available and that we had to please leave now. During this entire time, all tables except the one that was initially occupied were free. Why we didn't get another one is unclear. Pushing guests out so vehemently is also not a good thing to do. Honestly: an absolute failure from start to finish. The food was good, but the service was a disaster. I have never felt so unwelcome in the restaurant industry. Contacted the owner, promised feedback, never heard from again.

Eines der besten Restaurants in dem wir in Hamburg bisher waren und wir haben schon wirklich viele ausprobieren dürfen. Ganz toller Service, top Lage, super Essen!!!

Ich habe das Maa Deyo zum zweiten Mal besucht. Der erste Besuch war vor ca.2 Jahren und rundum gut. Dieses Mal hatte ich anlässlich einer kleinen Geburtstagsfeier einen Tisch reserviert. Trotz vorheriger Ankündigung und freundlicher Anfrage bekamen wir den denkbar schlechtesten Tisch,direkt vor der Küche. Zunächst auch nicht mal ausreichend Stühle vorhanden. Obwohl das Restaurant kaum besucht war und sich während unseres Aufenthaltes auch bei weitem nicht komplett füllte. Dann wurden wir mehrfach darauf hingewiesen, den Tisch auch pünktlich zu verlassen und bereits 15 Minuten gebeten diesen nun auch - vor den vereinbarten zwei Stunden - zu räumen. Das Essen war gut, der Service unterirdisch. Mir war es unangenehm das Restaurant für das Geburtstagsessen ausgesucht zu haben. Das Ambiente bekommt hinsichtlich des Katzentisches auch Abzüge.

Es war wie immer ein toller Abend. Das Essen superlecker, der Service sehr aufmerksam und schnell, die Atmosphäre ist großartig, sehr gemischtes Publikum. Ich freue mich schon auf den nächsten Abend draußen auf der Terrasse. Ein großes Lob an die Crew!

Cornbread was awesome! food, atmosphere definitely great! what was weird: when we asked which cremant was available (the brand is not listed). menu), the waitress came back and said she wasn't allowed to take the bottle with her to the seat and couldn't remember where the cream came from. The waitresses were super sweet, but really clueless (although one of them was on her first day, which is of course understandable), they could hardly answer any of our questions about food or drink, so it would be really nice if the staff were trained a bit; ) We were very relaxed about the lack of knowledge, but given the price range I would have expected something different, there is room for improvement. all in all: nice and worth a visit!!! also try the latin 뽀뽀!

Die Stühle auf an den Hochtischen sind etwas unbequem und direkt am Fenster lässt sich nicht 100% bequem sitzen mit der Fensterbank im Rücken. Minimal laut auch bei halbvollem Restaurant. Service großartig. Sehr nett, zuvorkommend und informiert, so wie man es sich wünscht. Das Essen war sehr gut, es fehlt evtl. ein Hinweis auf schärfe in der Karte.

For a tapas bar the prices are significantly higher than average. However, the dishes differ just as clearly from the average tapas bar. The dishes are very well crafted across the board, 😀 I would have liked the cornbread alone to be a bit fluffier, but that doesn't mean anything in terms of taste. I hardly ever eat pork, but the pork belly was excellent, as was the tofu with kimchi. The ceviche is very successful with the sweet potato puree and the melon. All in all, a successful evening. I would particularly like to highlight the service. Attentive without being intrusive. Really great. Without a doubt worth a visit. Due to the size of the location, I would definitely recommend a reservation.

Wir hatten mit Kollegen einen wunderbaren Abend im MaaDeyo. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich. Positiv war für die Abrechung, dass das Kassensystem auch bei sehr langen Belegen wunderbar flexibel auf Aufteilungswünsche reagiert.
